Green screen on you tube and other videos
why does screen on you tube and other places to see videos only show green? can someone fix this-only have had this
new computorfor about 2 weeks-did I delete something orwhat?
Hi,
Try the following.
Right click on the video ( green screen ) and select Settings.
Remove the tick from the box next to 'Enable Hardware Acceleration' and then click close.
Refresh the currnt page and see if the video now plays Ok.

youtube and other online videos take forever to open or keep starting and stopping
First thing to check is your actual download speed. Services, especially cable internet providers, say their top speed is "up to" some value. Cable internet is a shared resource so, should someone on your node be hosting online games or hosting a file sharing site from their computer, they are robbing you of bandwidth.
Try this speed tester:

and compare the results to what your ISP says you can get at max. Also try the test at different times of the day.
If the test shows you are consistently getting only a fraction of what the top-rated speed should be, contact your provider. They can see if there is a problem in your area. Old cable, oxidized connectors, and neighbors hogging the resource are things they can address. -
my iMac os lion 10.7.4 has jerky videos. I've tried YouTube videos with Safari and Google Chrome and the spinning globe appears and the video stops for a few seconds. I can't watch the white house weeklky address because it stops and starts every few seconds. The software is up to date. Just bought this thing in February 2012. Can anyone help me?

I went in you tube and watched videos on how to fix my headphone jack and its not the headphones cause when I look inside I see this little white costing in there I think that's the problem how can I fix it
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Make sure that y do not leave any foreign material or leave anything in the jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

How do I get icons for my yahoo email, Face Book, You Tube, and other sites that I use a lot?
In the past I had icons on my toolbar for my Yahoo email, You Tube, Face Book, and a lot of other sites that I use a lot, but I can't find where to get them to add to my firefox tool bar.
Also I have a lot of plug ins that I'm not sure I need, is there any way you can tell me what I need or don't need to keep?I disabled acceleration in the flash player by linking to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting and scrolling to the line that specifically outlined my problem - split horizontal screen with green line - clicked on the flash link then right clicked the flash icon and ticked disable acceleration.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled more programs then I probably need to.

You Tube not playing video on Firefox with Adobe Flash after latest update
You Tube and other sites are not playing video on Firefox with Adobe Flash after latest update for both. Adobe Flash is working on other sites but not You tube and those sites that may have embedded You Tube videos, I'm not sure.
Adobe Flash does not crash and no error message is showing. All that shows is a dark screen for the Flash video. Right clicking the screen shows only a non-clickable 'Movie not loaded' and the clickable link to the Adobe home page.
I have spent an hour trying things as suggested for past problems similar to this but none have helped.
I have sent sad face letting you know what I think of the latest update because of this which says pretty much the same thing as I have said here.
I have no further info but if I had some input and queries form you I might be able to provide more.I'm not sure how to remove the 12.xxx version,. I don't understand why it is there, usually updates over wirte the old one as far as I know. I don't know where to find it.

I disabled hardware acceleration on one of them, not sure which and I don't remember how I did it but think it must have been on the flash.

Ok, did what you have said as much as I could. I have been fidgeting with things now for a couple hours. After doing a CCleaner and Registry cleanse, turning off and restarting the computer, the videos are now p-laying.
I would still like to know how to find and get rid of the duplicate Flash plug in though if you would't mind.

I use Real Player to play music and videos. I also download videos from You Tube and from other sites thru Real Player which is compatible with Firefox 4.0.1, but not with Firefox 5. Please tell me why?
Firefox 4.0.1 has been an unsafe browser since the release of Firefox 5. So please don't use it.
Real hasn't made Real Player Browser Plugin compatible with Firefox 5.

I have reset Firefox, completed all the steps in "flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites". And the video still won't play in full screen. It will play, but frequently stops or sound continues and picture freezes. I have noticed that if I continually move my mouse, it plays fine. All these videos play fine in IE and Chrome.
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

Have you been able to successfully import these videos into iTunes? If so, use iTunes built in converter to convert it to a more iTunes friendly format. To do this, highligh the video and choose "Create iPhone or iPod version" from the Advanced drop down menu in iTunes.
When it has finished converting, try syncing the new version to your Nano.

I have windows 8.1 and the latest version of flash player. I'm getting audio but no video (it just displays a green screen.) How do I get video?
Thanks but I found my problem. It was easy oncew I found out the flask player was also called shockwave. My shockwave add-on was disabled. I'm not certain what caused the condition. I was good one day and not getting the error messages the next day. But, I know what to look for in the future if it reoccurs. Thanks again.

when i watch something on you tube or any video, it stops part way through the screening and i cannot get it to continue. it is so frustrating!
Go to this link to download the installer and this link to determine which version you have installed. Always get extensions like this from the publisher (in this case Adobe) and not from some website that says you need an extension and offers to install it for you since you may end up with malware instead.
BTW, once the current version of Flash is installed, you can set its preferences to update automatically in the background.
