Green screen upon startup and green pixels afterwards

Last night I switched from the dining room table to the bedroom. When I turned on my laptop in the bedroom (about 10 minutes after moving) it started up by flashing with a black then green screen and would not load. I was able to finally get it to load but when it first starts up it is a green screen that looks like it has diagonal wavy lines with the verbiage in the lower left for pressing esc for boot setup. Once it loads it has green pixels everywhere and when I open control panel where the white is normally, there is purple color. I did notice that a Windows update happened. I have tried to do a system restore but it doesnt get ride of it. I do have pictures but not sure how to post them from my phone.

I saw your post regarding the green screen you are getting with your laptop and I will be happy to help. Besides the green screen does it look like everything is normal on the screen or you are getting an error message? It could be a problem with the actual display screen. Do you have an external monitor that you can connect to the laptop? If you do and the monitor is getting the green screen then we know it is a driver issue but if doesn't happen then we know it is a hardware failure. What operating system are you using? What is the product number for your TouchSmart?

How do I get all users to show on screen upon startup for login?

New MacBook Pro with latest IOS. Yosemite10.10
I got my first MacBook Pro out of the box from the Apple store yesterday...Logged in as an initial admin user...Then I migrated my MacBook Air to it. All three imported users showed. Success!! Then I restarted the MacBook Pro and the startup screen shows only a single login option: The initial admin user login Icon and name that I used on the MacBook Pro just before migrating the other users in from my MacBook Air.
So, I deleted the initial user (I did not need it), so that the other users (already with admin rights) would be the only logical logins that should show upon restart.
Result: The initial "deleted" user shows still, all alone and none of the other users. So I now log in to this "deleted" user, it is very slow to start before the other logins eventually appear after the this delay.
How do I get my users to show at the login screen upon startup and restart?

Go to Settings > General > Date & Time. Make sure your time zone is correct and turn on Set Automatically if it isn't on already.

Safe Boot is perfoming a disk integrity check and repair process which may take a long time. Let it complete, though if the startup disk requires repair to begin with, it is likely already in a failed state.
If the Mac eventually starts, take that opportunity to back up your important data if you have not already done so. It may be your last.

MBP screen keeps freezing and these pixelated lines appear...

For the most part, I've been a happy MAC user but I have been experiencing some problems. For example, if I moved the mouse to close a program or something similar, the screen would freeze and these pixelated lines of black and white would appear, sometimes flashing. These lines would either cover a third or all of the screen. When I restarted, the lines would appear in blue right after the apple icon appears. This has been happening infrequently for the past day or so.
From browsing the internet, I've come across the GeForce 8600M GT GPU issue. I've checked and I do have this component. From Apple's article, my problem is not so much with the video, although it is really slow and intermittent at best but with the display screen (I think that's the proper term). I ran a general hardware test and all seems to be okay.
Would my problem(s) fall under this recall? Would I be eligible to get a (free) replacement? Further, is there a hardware test I could specifically run to test this? This is driving me crazy! What do you think?

Green Screen with masking, and widescreen.

I am having a small problem. I am working with green screen and I masked out the things that the green screen wasn't covering. After I was finished I activated the green screen function, and now, the things I masked out are there again. The numbers that showed the masking outline are still there, but it isn't blacked out like I wanted it to be. And also, I know how to make a single clip widescreen, but how can you make a whole project widescreen?

Hi Leroy,
1. In the filters pane of the viewer, drag your Matte that you used to cut out the things you didn't want below your Keying effect, so that it is rendered afterward.
2. Click on the sequence, and go to +Sequence > Settings.+ Select the preset that matches your media. Alternatively, you can change the Easy Setup to match your media and then create a new sequence.

Green screen, downlading files and updating programs often stuck at 99%.

Okey so I have got this problem for a 20 days, since I build my own computer. Some videos on youtube and other video stream sites bug out in the way that the video just goes green, and starts fast forwarding. Then I think streams on twitch.tv for example, I cant watch a stream for longer than 20 second and the video gets frozen and the stream needs to be refreshed. And updating games, downloading files often gets stuck at very end of the progress, and it wont succesfully download or update. Im not sure is it about Flash Player/Shockwave Player but if there doesnt come example green screen it may show something like you are missing add-on Flashplayer but when i refresh the page it may run the video fine for some time.

Dont know what else info I could put on about my computer really... I have tried to find answer, like disabling hardware acceleration, deleting flashplayer memory file, safe modes and all kind of tips I as able to find from internet.
And I use mozilla firefox (36.0), but the problems happens aswell in Internet Explorer. I have updated Flash Player (16,0,0,305), my drivers (Geforce Game Ready Driver 347.52), all windows updates, java(1.8.0?), but still cant find the answer why watching videos/streams work well.
Im sorry if I missed some info but ask if theres something.

The green screen means that hardware decoding has failed. It's probably a subtle, intermittent driver bug.
You can disable hardware acceleration in Flash to avoid this while you wait for updated drivers to become available:

i upgraded all the software for itunes and quicktime. using another post for 'green screen for video previews', i modified some settings in quicktime and one of them now has strips of static across the green. quite frustrating...

I could be off the mark, but you may need to install the version of iTunes here: iTunes for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards).
And then repair/reinstall QuickTime 7.7.6 for Windows.
If that works for you then the next time Apple Software Update or iTunes tells you there is a new version revisit the first link. It should be updated with a new "for older video cards" version that will work with QuickTime.

Has anyone ever green screened a subject and then had it tilt up to a logo?

I have green screen a lady talking and after she it done speaking I wanted it to tilt up to a logo.

Green screen: position, proportion, and size

I did a kind of jury rigged green screen set up where I placed myself in another video and was amazed at the result from this rough attempt-however I appeared as a giant in the combined video. Is there a way to re-proportion the clip so I, whoever, whatever is normal size and placed properly to produce the desired effect? I'm guessing that you just have to make the green-screen clip with the size and position of the subject already considered. Thanks for any input!

well, iM09 offers the CROP tool to 'shrink' a video..
in your case, then the green screen is too small (=iM adds a black border around the shrunk clip).. .
I like 'dirty' workarounds.. how's that:
create a New Project
insert a plain green still (use any paint app.. )
use the pic-in-pic effect to add the clip with you in the greenbox..
use the 'grabs' so resize and position yourself..
=> there should be a Greenbox clip within a green clip..
Export using Quicktime/choose Apple Intermediate as codec..
import THAT clip into your original Project, try to use the Greenbox effect
.. never tried, just an idea..
best practice: re-shoot..
even better practice: use FinalCutExpress for such elaborated Special Effects

Green Screen Camera Settings and other questions...

I have a Sony AX2000 HD camera and am a wanna-be pro. I've been trying to perfect my green screen operation. I think I have the lighting down and can play around with PE8 green screen or chroma key effect to my satisfaction. My problem is that I am very dissatisfied with the video quality. I'm shooting at full HD 1920x1080 resolution, and although the AVCHD video that my camera creates is awesome, when I create my final product, the video is awful.
This project is for online viewing mostly, although I need to provide DVD's too. I do not need HD, but assumed shooting in HD and reducing it down MUST be better than shooting in standard DV mode. I guess I assumed wrong? (Just been reading this - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/593946?tstart=0)
I'm also wondering about my camera settings. I had everything on auto, but I read somewhere using the manual focus, and turning down the gain helps - especially with the first problem I had which was noise. Actually, I improved this some with lighting, but blacks in particular seemed "noiser" than I found acceptable...
The other problem I have is fast movement. If my subject is throwing their arms around at any decent pace, even creating a high definition MPEG give me some terrible motion blur... then I realized even just creating a HD MPEG of the original video without the chromakey effect gives me sub standard quality, compared to the original AVCHD file. After searching this forum, I think I might have found the problem. I need to check my project settings to make sure they match the source files... I'll post again once I've tried this and let you guys know if it works...

OK - I discovered today that I was in fact using the wrong presets in Premier Elements. Rectifying that little detail gave me MUCH improved ouput - both for the MPEGS and even the standard DVD (although it still has the "home made" look to it rather than the TV clarity I would expect, it's a million times better than what I had).
Now I understand the basics of presets, I also discovered I wasn't using the best my camera had to offer either. I had it set to HD 1080 60i HQ – I found out the HQ translates to approx 9mbps (when this can be increased to 24mbps by using the FX option) - also the HQ was also giving me 1440x1080 resolution (when the FX could take me up to 1920x1080). So, I'm hoping for even better results tomorrow.
So, here are todays questions:
1.) The 60i part of the preset. Presumably the higher the frame rate the better, but how about the progressive v. interlacing - ie. is one better than the other for chroma key? Or does the fact that I'm going to be using this for web viewing (F4V format) and DVD's affect this decision?
2.) I took Steve's advice and downloaded Premier Pro. Immediately I came up against a problem. It seems like I don't have a suitable preset to choose. Further, when I tried to import my files directly from the camera's memory stick, it said they weren't supported. Adobe say the trial version is without limits, so any idea what the problem is here?

Green Screen, Chroma Keyer, and Keying

I did some short green screen recordings for a small project with different backgrounds dubbed in. The lighting is good, the green screen is set up accurately with no wrinkles, shadows, etc. It is just one person sitting on a stool with a green screen behind. With the chroma keyer filter, I have got the image to look fairly good when viewing any selected frame. The problem is, when I play it back the borders/edges around the individual blink and twitch dramaticall. Moving the softening up seems to fix this problem, but I have to move it up so much that it starts to deteriate the individual, so this does not work. I just wanted to see if I could get any ideas, or even some basic tips that I might be forgetting.
I know keying is a process that takes years to fully understand, but this seems to be the one common obstacle that I keep running into...

When you light for green screen, you are really lighting two sets. You ought to be able to turn off the light on the talent with no effect on the screen and vice versa. The biggest mistake people make is having the talent too close to the screen-- which results in green light bouncing back onto the talent and creating what you are seeing.
One way to lessen this is to use a backlight on the talent with a magenta filter. That'll negate a great deal of the green spill.

Screen Wobble/Refresh and Green patch

Wondering if anyone can help. Recently bought a eMac 1.25GHz - Super Drive off eBay. Everything seemed fine with it until I noticed the bottom left hand corner of the screen is blurry and gradually turns greener and greener towards the edge of the screen. Also when listening to music and you turn the volume up to near maximum the same area of the screen and also the middle wobbles like the re fresh rate is messed up or something??.
I was using the highest resolution but have now switched to a slightly lower Res... the problem isn't as bad but its still there.
Is this something to do with the magnets in the speaker?
Do they have magnets in the speakers?
Any one else had this problem?
Any Fixes???
It's not the end of the world but still annoying. I just got rid of my 333mHz iMac that I have had for 6 years not one problem with it or the screen. Are these screens in the eMac not as good quality?

The wobble in the lower part of the screen with the internal speakers at high volume has been noted by others. Easiest migitation is to add a pair of shielded external speakers. You can buy such speakers for anywhere from $10 to $300 depending how how particular you are about sound quality.

Screen colours blury and green, cant select music

My classic wont let me navigate it to select songs etc I have lost all control. The screen is blurry and changed colour. It is charged. It allows me to turn it on and off and volume control. It plays music and shows me screens randomly. It is stuck, I press buttons on wheel, turn it off and on and it will have moved to a different folder - but I have no visual control... Any idea whats wrong?? Anyone?? Very depressing... need my ipod for gigs
