Green screen... Windows Quicktime?

I just DLd the latest the latest Quicktime for my old PC (P4 2.0) and all I get is a green screen when playing back Quicktime movies??? Hmmmm... is it the built-in graphics chip? Doesn't have a video card. Any easy way to get this working, other than buy a graphics card... Thanks!

I'm assuming you've got XP rather than Vista here. If so, try the "Disable Direct3D acceleration in QuickTime" section from the following document:
Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows XP and 2000 video playback performance issues
(If you've got Vista, click the link through to the equivalent Vista article in the first paragraph, and look for the Direct3D acceleration instructions section there.)

I've got a big problem ... I've the last version of QuickTime for Windows (7.0.3) but there's something wrong. A lot of time, when I start a movie (downloaded on my computer or streaming), my QuickTime screen goes completely green and I only have the soundtrack ... I tought it could be because of the amount of cache so I upped it to 500Mb but there's no difference ... I'd like to know if someone can help me with this, cause it's pretty annoying !!!!

A "green" screen usually indicates a problem with the video card or its driver software.
It's been posted here and maybe a search through these discussions pages will point you to a solution.

Reflection when exporting green screen to QuickTime in iMove '09

I am using iMovie '09.
I am exporting a talking head using QT h.264 with best properties. I have overlayed the talking head on a black card background provided by iMovie. I need to import the quicktime film back into iMovie so I can put Picture in Picture on the black and have transitions. However, the greenscreen exports to quicktime with a flipped image above the head, i.e. a reversed neckline and shoulders making an hourglass figure with the talking head middle. Bizarre. Any suggestions on solving this?

Green screen capturing quicktime

Hello people i am having some issues screen capturing with quicktime but also on other programs that are based on the same technology that i downloaded from the app store, such as easy capture, basically, i try to capture the screen image recording a clip and the whole clip is shown as GREEN flat green, i believe it could be a problem with the codecs since i have also installed adobe but i just dont understand.. is anyone here common with this problem i m very eager to read comments about this!

Actualy DivX player just shows the same green screen too.
Finder says the file is 350 MB on the disk but quick time only says its 2 MB in the movie info window.

Hello, There are a number of things that can cause the green screen. I'm going to give you a few things to try starting with the easiest first.
Open the QT control panel click on the Advanced tab. Where it shows Video, you want to try changing the preferences around by checking and unchecking, Safe mode, Directx, and Enable DirectDraw acceleration.
If no luck. Open the Dispay control panel, click on the Settings tab, then the Advanced button and then the Troubleshoot button. Under Hardware acceleration you want to move the slider from None to Full.
If this does not help you want to look into your video card driver, a driver can cause the green screen. Also needing to update Directx could possibly be the cause.

Keynote won't export to quicktime get a green screen.

Been using Macs for a long time but am new to Keynote '09. When trying to export a slideshow in Quicktime to use in iMovie, I get window with a progress bar and a green screen and a Quicktime file that plays back a green screen!
I have searched the forums and web and cannot find much about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The slideshow has just 9 slides with photos and animated transitions, no audio, no video. I want to use the file as my title sequence in an iMovie. I did try to export directly to iTunes and had no luck there.

Have you tried creating a simple three slide movie with just text and exporting that to see if ANYTHING will work?

Quicktime 6 & 7 Green Screen ???

On my notebook, when I try to play a quicktime Movie, the movie starts to play and then a green screen gradually covers the quicktime window until the whole movie is just a green screen ?
I have just installed the new Quicktime 7 (part of the iTunes download) and the problem still persists.
The same movies play fine on my Desktop PC (also with quicktime 7). I have found that the movie has been encoded with the H264 codec (for the iPod). Has this anything to do with it. It plays fine on the iPOD as well ?
Anyone have any ideas please ???

A green window usually points to the video card or its drivers. Driver updates may help but it could also be your video card is failing.

Why iSight have green screen on mac os and works fine in windows.BootCamp?.

hi, it seems like its a common but or some like that but yes, my iSight does have a green screen just after updating from mac os 10.4.6 to 10.4.7, weirdo thing is that when i boot to windows partition, iSight works well (poor image quality) but works....
is there a new driver for iSight? or is there a permanent fix on that green screen?

Thanks but I found my problem. It was easy oncew I found out the flask player was also called shockwave. My shockwave add-on was disabled. I'm not certain what caused the condition. I was good one day and not getting the error messages the next day. But, I know what to look for in the future if it reoccurs. Thanks again.

Windows Quicktime Pro problems - no video screens [under "file"]

I have downloaded and installed Quicktime Pro and keyed in correct registration codes. [Quicktime 7 Pro is displayed] When in Apple Quicktime Pro- I am unable to see any kind of video screen data under "file" - Audio info is there [New audio recording]- but no video screens of any kind. I thought that maybe Quicktime Pro could not recognize my web camera [Panasonic]
I have tried: switching firewire cards[3 others] and switched around quicktime preferences ie - Video to Safe mode/Direct X - still no change.
When I connect camera, Digital Video device on computer acknowledges that there is a camera and gives me 4-5 software choices ie - Adobe, Windows Media Player but Quicktime Pro is not one of them.
Help ! - Any suggestions would be appreciated.

2 computers running windows-xp. niether will show video in itunes, only a black or a green screen. I went to video card and downloaded the latest windows drivers. All videos worked well after rebooting the drivers.2hours later the screen reverted to green

i can down load videos to my iphone 4 and play them. I ONLY GET A BLACK OR GREEN SCREEN AND NO VIDEO USING WINDOWS XP SP3 .
