Green tinged display on DVI output

Hi
I've connected my MacBook Pro to my tv.
I've used the Apply DVI adapter to VGA.
I then have a VGA converter to component output.
My TV is a Toshiba DLP.
The display has a green tinge.
Is this an issue on the Apple side on the tv?
Thanks

I've just hooked my 20" iMac display up to my Toshiba 37" HDTV using a mini dvi-HDMI adapter, and everything works well, EXCEPT for the green tinge (or hue) that is showing up. Everything else looks pretty good though..... The color that is on my iMac is still good, Its just green on the TV.
    Anyone have suggestions or ideas?

Try opening the Display System Preferences, then click on the Color options in the Display preferences window that appeared on the Toshiba display. Click on the Calibrate button and follow the instructions for creating a custom ColorSync profile that will hopefully solve the green tinge issue. The Apple Display Calibrator Assistant software that launches when you click on the calibrate button will walk you through the process.Assuming that the green tinge is minor and that you don't have a more serious cable or hardware issue, I am hopeful the results will be worth it.

  • How can i attach a dvi output device to a thunderbolt display

  • How can I make my DVI output display in 1280x720?

I'm running propresenter on my imac, with the DVI connected to the video switcher, which is running video in 720p high definition. However, my computer doesn't have 1280x720 as a resolution option for the dvi output, so I've had to settle for 1280x768, which is creating some issues with how graphics and videos are displayed (primarily, small black bars top and bottom during video playback).
Is there a way to make the dvi show 1280x720?

I don't believe you can customize the setting beyond the external monitor supports. While the external monitor is on open System Preferences - Displays. If the external monitor supports 1280 x 720 click on that setting.

I have an early 2008 Mac Pro, 8 gb ram with a Dell 27” display and a 42” LG TV. I am thinking about upgrading the stock ATI Radeon 2600 graphics card for better resolution, preferring 2 dvi outputs or 1 dvi and 1 vga vs 1 dvi and a mini. I don't do a lot of Final Cut Pro, gaming, etc. I am interested in best value for the graphics card.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best graphics card for these larger displays for the best value?

I recommend you install nothing older than the Apple-firware 5770, about US$250.
RE: Mac Pro Replacement Graphics cards
    1) Apple brand cards,
    2) "sold in the Apple store" cards, and
    3) "Mac Edition" cards ...
... show all the screens, including Boot up screens, Safe Mode, Installer, Recovery, debug screens, and Alt/Option boot screens. At this writing, these choices include:
    1) Apple brand cards:
    • Apple-firmware 5770, about US$250** works near full speed in every model Mac Pro, Drivers in 10.6.5
    • Apple-firmware 5870, about US$450
    2) "sold in the Apple store" cards
    • NVIDIA Quadro 4000, about US$1200
    • NVIDIA Quadro 5000, about US$2500
    3) "Mac Edition" cards -- REQUIRE 10.8.3 or later:
    • SAPPHIRE HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 MAC Edition, about US$480** Vendor recommends Mac Pro 4,1
    • EVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition, about US$600
The cards above require no more than the provided two 6-pin aux power connectors provided in the Mac Pro through 2012 model. Aux cables may not be provided for third-party cards, but are readily available.
If you are Meet ALL of these:
    • running 10.8.3 or later AND
    • don't care about "no boot screens" etc AND
    • can re-wire or otherwise "work out" the power cabling, THEN:
You can use many more cards, even most "PC-only cards"

  • Color noise/dithering with MacPro DVI output

    Hello everybody,
to describe my problem/question I have to give you some additional information.
I am working for a company that produces KVM extenders. One of our products is an digital extender system which enables the transmission of standard computer signals (keyboard, video, mouse) via CAT cable over distances up to 140 meters.
In combination with a MacPro (MacPro 4,1, Mac OS X 10.6.5), this extender shows some "peculiarities" when transmitting images.
The mouse does not move properly at our receiver module; the cursor stutters at the screen.
In this constellation, however, almost the complete bandwidth is required for image transmission. In order to generally avoid this problem, we use a compression procedure to transmit data. Usually, only image changes instead of full images are transmitted. This method saves bandwidth and results in a stutter-free image. In our case, the compression procedure cannot be applied due to the fact that the MacPro constantly displays a stuttering image.
In order to clarify this problem we have done some research which I am going to explain in the following.
The tested graphics cards (ATI Radeon HD 4870 and GeForce GT 120) do not provide static screen content at the digital DVI output, but create a constant image/color noise/dithering.
Since the compression procedure cannot be applied (only full images are transmitted), the performance at higher resolutions is rather low. This is especially inconvenient for the user because this failure is invisible/irreproducible and there seems to be no possibility to disable this color noise.
In order to make the color noise visible, we used a screen-capture tool to produce several images of a standard desktop of a Mac OS X installation.
We took a closer look at these images and realized that the green background does not consist of one RGB color value, but of slightly deviating color values. In order to highlight the different color values, we used a graphic tool and colored the color values with more differing colors.
Now the color noise is clearly visible. When we looked at the same image with a delay in time, we realized that the color noise was not static but seemed to appear rather randomly. The colors deviate and a stuttering image is displayed!
The crosscheck against a background without color (white) shows that the color noise does not occur and the image performance of our extenders has evidently improved.
    Now my actual question:
Does anyone know how to disable this dithering within Mac OS X?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and maybe give me some hinds to solve the problem.

    Hey Shane
I hate to go back to an old topic, but i need help.
I took your advice and bought the Blackmagic Thunderbolt Intensity Shuttle. I have the thunderbolt cable coming out of my iMac and into the Blackmagic box. Out of there I have the RGB cable going to my monitor, however I have no signal. I tried looking into contacting Blackmagic, but no luck. I thought I would ask you, since you seemed to have some knowledge.

Open System Preferences > Displays > select the window for you external monitor > click on the Arrangement tab and check the box next to Mirror Displays. It may be slightly different in Lion, but the idea is the same.

  • Apple Cinema Display with DVI to VGA graphic adapter... HELP

A friend of mine has a PC (Windows XP based) and is using the Apple Cinema Display. Since his graphic card has both vga and dvi slot, he can plug the monitor to DVI and got it working, but when he tried to plug it into the VGA slot using DVI to VGA converter, it did not work. Is there a need of special converter or adapter?

    Hi royz86,
To run a DVI display off a VGA output, you need a rather expensive converter box. These converters vary in performance, reliablility and application possibilities and certainly don't compare with using a native DVI output.
Your friend was probably trying to use a DVI to VGA adaptor (which won't work "the other way around"). It works by grabbing the analogue signal that is included in a DVI-I output and setting up a VGA output that way. These don't work with DVI-D outputs, by the way.
    Cheers!

  • T410 with integrated graphics - DVI output not working on Mini Dock 3 (4337)

I tried connecting my external monitor to the DVI output of the Mini Dock and it did not work.  I have since connected it with no issus to the VGA output.
However, I want to use the digital (DVI) connection for my monitor........how can i fix this issue?
NOTE: I have a T410 with the integrated graphics so my laptop screen does not display while docked (I keep the lid closed).

    Hi MarkinIt,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with no Display when connected to docking station on your ThinkPad T410.
Have you checked updating the Intel graphic driver from Lenovo support site?
Please provide the current Graphic driver version showing in device manager.
Is the system having Windows 7 or Windows 8 OS?
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,

  • Using the DVI output on a NX6200TC-TD card for HDTV projection TV

    Hi,
I just got a new system on which I have the NX6200TC-TD video card. I am trying to use the DVI output with a DVI-HDMI conversion cable for my HDTV projection TV as a secondary screen. My primary screen is a small 15" LCD. I use teh "Clone" mode to have the same thing on both. Here are my two problems:
1- The picture on my projection TV is too large for the screen. The icons on the left are only partly visible, and I cannot see the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
2- The picture is really blinking. I think this is becaused of the fixed 60Hz refresh rate?
I tried several things with the extended NVidia display settings. One problem I have is that I have difficulty to change the settings on one specific display. It seems like no matter what I do (like selecting the secondary display), the changes are applied to the primary display. Also, when I am using the HDMI input on my TV, I cannot change the display size on the TV (fixed to full screen).
The resolution on the LCD is 1024 x 768 and the HDTV is in 1080i mode. I tried all other HDTV modes, but it did not fix my problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Benoit

    I see...
Another solution that would really help would be the ability to easily switch from one screen to the other. I have that on my laptop: special key shortcuts allow to turn off the LCD and turn on the external projector, and it uses pre-defined settings for each screen. Difefrent settings are possible because they are not on at the same time. Is there something like this available with that card?  Would that be a card feature, or a system (motherboard) feature?
If that is not possible, I would be satisfied if at least I could fix the border problem on the HDTV screen, even thoughthe LCD screen becomes smaller. Is that possible?  Basically I want to make sure I get a good picture on the large screen.
      Thanks!

  • T61: DVI output without docking station? Possible?

I was wondering if there is any way to have DVI output on my T61 without using a docking station. I need to use this output frequently and carrying the docking station around is not very practical. Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Rodrigo.

I see, but how about picture quality?
I mean, I'm going for DVI because I want to plug the PC into a full HD display.
If I'm going to use a VGA 2 DVI converter it's better to use VGA straight, isn't it?
How is lenovo's VGA output quality in high resolutions?
    Thanks for your help.

  • T22 Dvi output via docking port

Can anyone please help. I have a T22 laptop with a docking port/ port replicator. The docking port has a dvi output port. Can I connect this to a large screen monitor? Does the T22 support dvi output? I dont want to spend out on a cable if it will not work. Thanks for your help.
    T22 Type 2647 Windows XP

It should work without any great difficulties, depending on what you plan to do you may want to change the settings in the BIOS > Config > Display menu for which, or both, screen (s) should be used to display the boot sequence.
In Windows you can configure things using Presentation Director. If you don't already have it installed you can find it here.
Let us know how you arrange your setup.

  • Second Apple Display via DVI

I'm sure this must have been covered before so apologies if I'm going over old ground, but can't seem to find exactly the right answer to my question, so if anyone can help or point me in the right 'post direction'.....
I have a MacPro 4.1 with a Mini DisplayPort output plus a DVI output. I've been running a 24" Apple Display (via the MDP) and a standard monitor (via the DVI) quite happily.
Now want to upgrade to a second 24" Apple Display, but obviously can't connect to the DVI output due to the hardwired MDP from the monitor. Assumed that I could buy an adaptor (male DVI to female MDP) but can't seem to find anything......
There must be a way around this issue....?
    Thanks

  • XVR-100 and DVI output

I'm trying to configure the Blade 1500 running Solaris 10 to use the DVi output. Still haven't got a signal.
Anyone successfully do this? I followed suggestions for modifying the Servers file and adding
    :0 Local local_uid@console root /usr/X11/bin/Xserver :0 -nobanner -dev /dev
    /fbs/pfb0a -dev /dev/fbs/pfb0b
    but this hasn't worked.

In September 2006, I read in the Sun System Handbook, in the Graphics card section for the Ultra 25, that Solaris 10 does not support dual displays. But now this statement appears to have been removed.
I was able to get two outputs out of an XVR-100 in a SB 1500, but using Solaris 9 9/04.
I use a start up script to call
    /usr/openwin/bin/xinit -- -nobanner -dev /dev/fbs/pfb0a -dev /dev/fbs/pfb0b
Also, do a fbconfig -dev /dev/fbs/pfb0a -prconf to make sure it configured. Do the same with pfb0b
