  • Green Volume Bar

I recently reinstalled Windows 7 on my Lenovo W530. I installed the drivers throug Lenovo System Update.
When I now use my Volume control buttoms two volume bars show up.
Does anybody have an idea how to remove the green one?
    Thank you very much !

I reverted the System to the state before I installed the drivers and programs through System Update.
The Volume Bar is gone now so I am pretty sure it was installed during this process.
I will try to install all drivers manually, maybe this will do the trick.
    Thank you

  • Pavillion DV9005US missing green volume bar

Running XP.  I can't get my green volume slide bar to appear on the screen.  I have verified all my keyboard drivers are current using HP on-line support.  I verified my display settings are enabled in startup--maybe I missed one?  I desire not to install a third party volume control if I can avoid it.  Can someone help me re-establish the slide volume that came with the HP laptop?

In some models HP QuickLaunch button can also displayed the volume bar, I'm not sure if it was working for your model.Have you install HP Quick Launch Buttons?
Install Microsoft .NET Framework, here before HP QuickLaunch Buttons.
I used a third party one, very nice software and its a freeware.

  • Volume bar is gone on iTouch

A few days ago my volume bar just disappeared. It wont appear for movies or music. I reset my iTouch and started fresh and reloaded and still no volume bar. iPod software is getting worse and worse every update....lets call them downdates from now on.

Hey. I have a first Gen Touch, and the same thing happened to me! I happened to be in the Apple store when it happened again, and asked a Tech about it. He first said to do the 'hold-the-power-and-hold-buttons-simultaneously' thing in order to reset the iPod, but it didn't work. He was disapointed, and said that what an Apple Care person would next suggest would be to connect the iPod to your computer, do a factory restore, (or whatever it's called) in order to completely wipe the drive, and then reinstall all my stuff. I haven't tried this yet, sigh, seems like a lot of work, but that's what he said. Hey, Apple, if you're listening, could you fix this? I am so tired of having my 1st Gen NOT be backed up by Apple when it's only 3 years old!!! It works fine, and Apple has left us in the dirt. I am so disappointed in their lack of backup for us guys. You can't get 1st Gen screen protectors or cases or dock inserts; it's like we and our Touches, that we paid, like $250. for just 3 years ago, have been totally forgotten and "disappeared" like a bunch of unfortunate Argentinian activists...

  • Image zone/Volume bar

    HP Desktop M7240UK
    Windows 7
    Hi
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 from XP and I have lost the HP Image zone, how can I reinstall it?.
Also on my keyboard I have volume controls which when pressed would bring up a green volume bar on the monitor, this has also vanished and it was very handy.
Please can you help me retrieve these valuable items.
    Regards

York, I don't believe that you will be able to reinstall HP Image Zone software.  There is no way to install individual programs from the Recovery Discs.  As for the volume bar, this is a special app.  I have the same problem with my Logitech keyboard after installing Win7 Pro.  So far I haven't found the solution for this either.  I believe the Logitech software is not compatible with Win7.

  • Would like to remove ugly blue volume bar from display.

    Hi,
I have an HP G72 Notebook, Product Number: WJ746AV, running Windows 7 (64-bit). Ever since i got the laptop I've had this volume display show when I adjust the volume through the keyboard:
All functionality remains, but it is very unaesthetic. It have seen the usual indicator that shows up on HP machines. It matches the WLAN indicator, with sleek black (the WLAN indicator DOES work for me). but, according to the posted list, my notebook is not supported by HP MediaSmart, and as a result will not give me a nice indicator. Thus, I have installed 3RVX.
I now have both volume bars appearing, which remains unsatisfying. I've tried tweaking with various settings, but nothing has been able to remove this blue nuisance.
Would anyone know how to remove it? Is it intimately connected to the keyboard hardware?
Although this is not a crucial issue, any help or insight into the problem would be greatly appreciated!

I found a fix for this, and would like to share it with anyone who might come across this post with a similar problem.
I went to the System Configuration panel by entering 'msconfig' in the Search Programs and Files box at the Start Menu.
In the startup tab I disabled 'Realtek OSD for Volume/Mute'. After a restart, the ugly blue volume bar was gone, and I am now free to use 3RVX.

  • HP dm4 1009tu volume bar missing

    Hi friends,
I know this question might have been asked several time but no solution yet. I am using HP dm4 1009tu and suddenly the volume bar has gone missing. The quick launch button is working and volume can be increased or decreased but i believe the sound level too has gone down even at the highest peak.
I tried installing the driver but no rescue even restoring at previous time has not helped.
Any solutions for this??? Help is grealty appreciated
    Thanks

    Nicobart, welcome to the forum.
I believe that the on-screen volume bar is part of the driver software.  Here is the updated driver for the audio.  Install it to see if it solves your problem.

  • My iPhone 4s no longer has sound for any of the applications but it does have sound for phone functions.  Where is the setting for app sound?  I have gone to the multitask screen and the volume bar is empty.

I recently found my phone outside in light rain (it had been there about 20 minutes).  It had some glitches at first, however after letting it rest overnight it seemed to mostly recover.  The one problem I am having is that I no longer have sound for any of my applications.  I do have sound for phone fuctions, and I am able to use the speaker for phone functions.
When I am in my applications, including music/videos, the only way I can hear is if I use my earbuds.  I am able to make a video and it will record sound just fine.
When I go to the multitask screen, the volume bar is empty and I cannot adjust it using the side buttons (even though in settings I have that feature activated). I completely reset all of my settings tonight and that did not make a difference.
Is there a setting I am missing, or am I just SOL?  I am trying to avoid having to get a whole new phone but it is very frustrating to not have sound with my applications.

  • Why is the volume bar gone?

The volume bar has disappeared. Instead there are 5 small dots at the bottom of the screen when I'm listening to a song. What does this mean and how do I fix it? Everything else seems fine. Thanks

It seems that you may have accidentally struck the center button a few times. Try hitting this button a few times and cycling through the different screens (the five dots are part of the rating screen; hitting the center button once more should return you to the main screen).

  • Ipod Touch Version 3.1.3 volume bar disappeared and will not return

The volume bar on my 1st generation iOS 3.1.3 ipod touch started disappearing then would return with tweeking of the headphones and sometimes when resetting all settings. Now it is gone completely and won't come back.
I have tried resetting to factory settings.
Cleaning the jack with a clean dry toothbrush.
    Any ideas???
I thought I would try getting help here before going to the apple store.

From your description it appears that the headphone jack is bad. You can make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to hear what they have to say.
If Apple can't clean out the jack, they will exchange it for this price.

  • Volume bar missing

Help.. my volume bar, name of music and progress bar are gone. When I listen to music, my new video iPod screen is blank. When I click menu, it goes back to the list of songs (yea.. the screen is not always blank).

Help.. my volume bar, name of music and progress bar
are gone. When I listen to music, my new video iPod
screen is blank. When I click menu, it goes back to
the list of songs (yea.. the screen is not always
    blank).
If the screen is blank, I imagine you don't have album art associated with your music. What has most likely happened is the center button was accidentally pressed twice during playback. This brings up the large album art display which, if there is no album art, will be blank. The solution, if this is the case, is to press the center button several times during playback until (hopefully) the progress screen comes back.
    I hope this helps.

  • My ipad2 media volume not working, volume bar not showing

My ipad2 media volume not working, volume bar not showing

    here are my similar symptons:
in Settings the volume slider bar when moved plays a sound out of the speaker
when you double press home button, and slide over to the brightness and volume slider bars, the volume slider is completely gone.
when you plug in headphones it works fine, volume rocker controls volume perfectly.
when you press volume rocker without headphones, nothing happens, or a blank "sound effects" icon displays.
I sent my Ipad2 to Apple for this under warranty.  They said there are some small scratches on the side of it.
It lives in a heavy duty case, but the exposed area has been knicked some how.    The little divots in the metal on the side mean that "impact" must have broken it.
Forget the fact that it spontaneously started happening and that the speakers and headphones both work at various times, and the volume rocker works, but iOS 5.1.1 apps can't send sound out the speaker, but the volume settings in the sound do send out sound..
so they refused to look at it or repair it under the warranty.   I was a day away from buying yet another apply device in our family that already has a couple iPod Touches and 2 iPads.  I think I'll buy a droid now.

  • 30gb video iPod, where is my volume bar while playing music?

I see a white volume bar while playing video podcasts, but not while listening to music. Where is it, how can I get it to show up? Do I need to change the color?

All of the songs had artwork associated with them (on my computer) from the very beginning. When I uploaded them the first time, shouldn't the artwork have gone with them? When you upload album art, is there a way to find it on the iPod, other than playing the songs? In other words, does it reside in a directory that I can view? If there is, I can at least confirm whether the artwork ever made it to the iPod. It just seems weird that it shows up in iTunes but not on my 'pod.
I know that I had the setting orginally set at "automatic" and then at some point I changed it to manual, and then back to automatice, which is how it is set now. But again, I prepared my database of songs on my computer (including artwork) before I ever uploaded them to my virgin iPod, so I thought it would have gone with them from the start.

  • Volume bar (hotkeys, KDE)

    Hello,
Is it possible to configure Arch (KDE) to display a nice bar with volume when I press my volume up, down hotkeys (the hotkeys are configured with acerhk module and codes added with xmodmap, KDE now recognise them). I remember I had something like this under ubuntu, but I don't know if it was a part of kde or something 'ubuntu specific'.
    mazu

this script inc./dec (alsa) volume via amixer and shows a volume-bar via xosd (osd_cat).
    #!/bin/bash
    case $1 in
    +)
    amixer set PCM 2dB+
    amixer set PCM 2dB-
    exit
    esac
    VOLUME=`amixer get PCM | sed -ne '/Front Left/s/.*\[\(.*\)%\].*/\1/p'`
    osd_cat --font -*-terminus-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* --colour=Green --shadow 1 \
    --pos bottom --align center --offset 80 --delay=1 -b percentage -P $VOLUME -T Volume
I use xbindkeys to run the script if I press  the vol. up or down keys on my keyboard.
This is the part for the volume keys of my .xbindkeysrc file (I saved the script as volume-xosd)
    # PCM Volume up (Fn + up_arrow)
    "/usr/local/bin/volume-xosd +"
    c:176 + m:0x0
    # PCM Volume down (Fn + down_arrow)
    "/usr/local/bin/volume-xosd -"
