Grey background in converted text

I added some shadow to text to have it converted to an image (PNG).
This looks good at the iMac at home. At some PC, which also doesn't show the navigation bar, the text gets a grey background. Example:
http://www.hasselo.eu/photography/Books.html where the upper picture has real text and the lower picture contains converted text (PNG).
Something similar here: http://www.hasselo.eu/photography/Gallery-photo_course.html where the button "Gallery" at the top has a grey background.
I assume that not all viewers will be able to see this because some browsers show it well and others don't.
Is there something in iWeb that I can do to fix this?
Is this because it is PNG and some browsers have an issue with PNG.
Alternate solution is to type the text in a graphics program, save it as jpg and at this to iWeb so that iWeb does not have to convert to PNG.
Thanks for your help.

  • Converting from Word 2013 to PDF - grey background appears

    When converting my document from Word 2013 to pdf, it appears to be on a grey background. Now my images are "sticking" out instead of blending in.
    How can I get the background to appear white, as it does on my screen.

    Be sure that WORD gets patched too. Often these problems turn out to be OFFICE issues. You might try a sample print to paper to see the issue. Also, AA is at 8.1.6.
    There have been several problems folks have had with WORD 2007. The updates help some, but it is almost as though MS put some hooks in WORD 2007 to cross up Acrobat in some cases. I have run PPT documents with earlier versions of WORD and Acrobat with no problem. WORD 2007 would produce a totally different result that was not expected. There are even differences in graphics that you put in a DOC file versus a DOCX file. The latter seems to be doing some strange things to graphics. I would tell you more, but I really try to stay away from WORD unless I need it for compatibility with others.

  • ITunes 11 has black background with black text

    I had previously set iTunes to use the dark grid theme. Now I've upgraded to itunes 11 but i'm stuck with cases where I have a black background and black text with no preferences option to fix it. (the same problem I had with the previous itunes version, even when i tried selecting a different theme it wouldn't change)
    examples include the downloads window
    And views like album view that the text changes color based on the album art, and the background is supposed to too but mine doesn't, so sometimes the icons/text will be unreadable. Like the close, play, shuffle, etc buttons in the screen shot below.
    I have tried retinstalling iTunes several times between 10.6 and 11 to fix various bugs but it's never worked properly.
    Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

    Very Big thank you All of you for your help !!! It's been an hour that I didn't know what to do to see which songs to chooses because of the grey typo on black background !!! Merci
    defaults write com.apple.iTunes high-contrast-mode-enable -bool FALSE
    Enfin sauvée après une heure de galère à chercher partout comment changer la skin de itunes 11 alors que c'était en fait un bug d'affichage !!!

  • Problem in converting text to image.

    Hi I am trying to convert a text to image. The code for the same is pasted below. The problem is how do I change the background color. No matter what color I give with Graphics2D object, the background is always black. I want a white background.
    public class TextToImg1
    public static void main(String args[])
    try
    int width = 400;
    int height = 400;
    BufferedImage bimage = new BufferedImage(width, height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Graphics2D g2D = bimage.createGraphics();
    g2D.drawString("This is the sample page to convert text to image.",100,100);
    g2D.setBackground(Color.WHITE);
    g2D.setColor(Color.WHITE);
    File f = new File ("anImage.jpg");
    ImageIO.write (bimage, "jpeg", f);
    catch(Exception exception)
    System.err.println(exception.getMessage());
    }

    Probably because you didn't draw the background. Use the fillRect(...) method to paint the background using the color your want.

  • How to change pdf (with dark background) so it print with white background and dark text??

    I have lots of nice presentations I am studying- the problem is most of them were made in ppt with dark backgrounds and white text then converted to pdf files. So when I print them, I get a dark (black) background with white text- very annoying. Is there anyway to get it to print with a light (or no) backround with black text? This is much easier for note taking/etc. I have adobe acrobat professional.

    Use the rectangle shape tool. Draw a rectangle over the entire frame. In the shape tab, color it whatever you want. Export your TGA sequence.
    Andy
    PS: But if you place a colored bkg in your motion project that you will effectively have no alpha channel. Are they referencing the TGA's alpha?

  • PDFs printing with black background and white text.

    For some reason some of our PDF's have been printing with black backgrounds and white text, even though they appear to be normal on the screen before they are printed. I haven't been able to confirm 100% yet but it appears to only be happening with pdfs that were created from scanned documents.
    Can somebody please offer me some suggestions.

    Absolutely agree with the original poster.  I find white text on black background so very very difficult (I changed from using Tweetbot on iOS to Tweetlogix for this very reason) and it physically hurts my eyes to try to read it.  I can just about manage with Spotify using white text on a black background on the large screen of my MacBook Pro - and I do mean "just" - but for the smaller screen of my iPhone 5 it is just impossible.  Even with a retina screen such as that on the iPhone 5S there is a strange ghosting effect and it gives me a headache to look at it for too long.
    This may be something to do with age!  I suspect most app developers are youngsters with almost perfect eyesight, but for those of us whose eyesight is less than perfect, this white text on black background really is so very difficult.
    I know there is a workaround in setting the iPhone to invert ALL colours (under Accessibility in Settings) but it's a real pain to have to keep altering this setting every time I want to open or close Spotify, and it doesn't look right anyway.  iOS7 is supposed to be a light, bright, easy to read OS - sadly this new Spotify app is the opposite of that.
    Please would Spotify consider adding a simple light or dark theme option, so that those of us who want it can have our much easier to read light background back again, with grey or black text?  It would be a great help to those of us who have eyesight problems.
    If not, I may have to cancel my Spotify Premium account and move to Deezer instead, as I mainly use Spotify when out and about in the car, so am using the iOS app a lot.
    Thank you for considering this plea!

  • Grey Background Error

    Hello! I have had a book printed with lulu before with no problem.  But this time, some of the illustrations in my book randomly have a grey background, when they should be white.  I am confused because every single illustration comes from the same PSD file when i was making them, so they all have precisely the same white background.  When I open the individual images up in Photoshop to check the background colour, they are all the same, all exactly white.  When I open the PDF images in Photoshop, they are all white, all 100%.  I don't understand why it is that just some of them turn up with grey backgrounds in the printed copy... Anybody got advice?  If you need to see anything to understand what I'm describing, please let me know

    Thanks for the suggestions
    Is the best thing for me to do is try something else besides JPGs,
    They work for me (at 300 or more DPI). I doubt they remain as jpgs once a file is converted to PDF anyway.
    and select "lossless compression" when saving out the PDF?
    I use Word and I have never actually changed the defaults on Word's Save As PDF, and they are > Standard (publishing for printing) - Page Range [All] - Document - Document Structure Tags - and the ISO option.
    The original files are JPG yeah.  I put them together using Photoshop.  But - all files are in one master PSD file when I am working on them, so they all have precisely the same background, and I am just switching out the layers I am working on above that background, which is why this has me scratching my head.  They are all precisely the same colour, but a few of them come out grey when printed.
    I assume you Merge all Layers?
    I compile the JPGS in OpenOffice.
    If all the images are in one file, how are you creating a Word Docx with them?

  • "Convert Text to Table" Size limit issue?

    Alphabetize a List
    I’ve been using this well known work around for years.
    Select your list and in the Menu bar click Format>Table>Convert Text to Table
    Select one of the column’s cells (1st click selects entire table, 2nd click selects individual cell)
    Open “Table Inspector” (Click Table icon at top of Pages document)
    Make sure “table” button is selected, not “format” button
    Choose Sort Ascending from the Edit Rows & Columns pop-up menu
    Finally, click Format>Table>Convert Table to Text.
    A few days ago I added items & my list was 999 items long, ~22 pages.
    Tonight, I added 4 more items. Still the same # pages but now 1,003 items long.
    Unable to Convert Text to Table! Tried for 45 minutes. I think there is a list length limit, perhaps 999 items?
    I tried closing the document w/o any changes. Re-opening Pages & re-adding my new items to the end of the list as always & once again when I highlight list & Format>Table>Convert Text to Table .....nothing happens! I could highlight part of the list up to 999 items & leave the 4 new items unhighlighted & it works. I pasted the list into a new doc and copied a few items from the middle of the list & added them to the end of my new 999 list to make it 1003 items long (but different items) & did NOT work. I even attempted to add a single new item making the list an even 1000 items long & nope, not working. Even restarted iMac, no luck.
    I can get it to work with 999 or fewer items easily as always but no way when I add even a single new item.
    Anyone else have this problem?  It s/b easy to test out. If you have a list of say, 100 items, just copy & repeatedly paste into a new document multiple times to get over 1,000 & see if you can select all & then convert it from text to table.
    Thanks!
    Pages 08 v 3.03
    OS 10.6.8

    G,
    Yes, Pages has a table size limit, as you have discovered. Numbers has a much greater capacity for table length, so if you do your sort in Numbers you won't have any practical limitation.
    A better approach than switching to Numbers for the sort would be to download, install and activate Devon Wordservice. Then you could sort your list without converting it to a table.

  • How do I use the Services menu to convert text to an iTunes track?

    I'm trying to convert text to an iTunes track using the Services option on the Firefox drop down menu, but having trouble with it. I have set my preferences to turn on that option, but all that happens is I get a spinning wheel at the top of my screen, and it doesn't record. I can't see anything in the iTunes settings that I need to change, but wondering if that could be the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

    Then you may be much better off posting your question in the ExportPDF forum,

  • Change background of the text in a TextBox

    (JavaFX 1.3) How can one change the background (color, gradient, whatever) of the text in a TextBox without affecting any of the other display (Skin) attributes for the TextBox?
    A related question is: How can I programmatically determine the background (color, gradient, whatever) of the text in a TextBox?
    I would like to be able to indicate to the user that the text entered is not valid by changing the background of the text to something other than the original background and change it back to the original background when the text is valid. This would probably be done inside overridden replaceSelection and/or commit functions when extending a TextBox.

    This seems to change the background of a button from the caspian style to something else and back to the caspian style, without losing the focus highlight.
    // caspianFXBodyColor = definition of -fx-body-color in .scene from caspian.css
    def caspianFXBodyColor = "linear (0%,0%) to (0%,100%) stops (0,derive(-fx-color,34%)) (1,derive(-fx-color,-18%))";
    def revisedFXBodyColor = "red";
    Stage {
      scene: Scene {
        width: 250
        height: 300
        content: Button {
          var isCaspian = true;
          var bodyColor: String = caspianFXBodyColor;
          text: "push me"
          style: bind "-fx-body-color: {bodyColor};"
          action: function() {
            if (isCaspian = not isCaspian) bodyColor = caspianFXBodyColor
            else bodyColor = revisedFXBodyColor;
    }However, the original question regarding how to do this for a TextBox remains unanswered. The following code demonstrates that changing the value for -fx-background-color changes the background color as desired, but the focus highlight is lost. Changing the value of -fx-body-color has no visible effect.
    // caspianBGColor = definition of -fx-background-color in .text-box{} in caspian.css
    def caspianBGColor = "-fx-background-color: -fx-shadow-highlight-color, -fx-text-box-border, -fx-control-inner-background;";
    def revisedBGColor = "-fx-background-color: -fx-shadow-highlight-color, -fx-text-box-border, red;";
    def caspianBodyColor = "-fx-body-color: -fx-control-inner-background;";
    def revisedBodyColor = "-fx-body-color: red;";
    def box = TextBox { text: "sample text" }
    var isCaspianBackground = true;
    var isCaspianBody = true;
    def button1 = Button {
      text: bind "change {if (isCaspianBackground) 'from' else 'to'} caspian background color"
      action: function() {
        if (isCaspianBackground) box.style = revisedBGColor else box.style = caspianBGColor;
        isCaspianBackground = not isCaspianBackground;
    def button2 = Button {
      text: bind "change {if (isCaspianBody) 'from' else 'to'} caspian body color"
      action: function() {
        if (isCaspianBody) box.style = revisedBodyColor else box.style = caspianBodyColor;
        isCaspianBody = not isCaspianBody;
    Stage {
      scene: Scene {
        width: 250
        height: 300
        content: [ VBox { content: [ box, button1, button2 ] } ]
    }Edited by: timdoodle on Aug 13, 2010 5:25 PM

  • Changing the background of a text field in adobe interactive forms

    Hello All,
    Is there any way to change the background colour of text field in interactive form dynamically.??
    Thanks,

    Naresh,
    Change the language to JavaScipt in Script Editor of LiveCycle Designer and use the following code to highlight the area of TextField where R,G,B means that you have to give the RGB values of the color you want.
    <YourTextFieldName>.border.edge.color.value = "R,G,B";
    For eg:- If you have a textfield with name TextField1 then this will highlight the TextField1 area in red color.
    if ((TextField1.rawValue==null) || (TextField1.rawValue==""))
      TextField1.border.edge.color.value = "255,0,0";
    You can use this on exit event of Textfield1 or at the submit button where you check the form data.
