Grey borders appear around inserted photos in videos

Hi,
I have Adobe Premiere Elements 10 and am quite new to video editing. I am creating a video of myself talking against an infinity white background. I'm trying to insert some excel charts next to me talking. I've turned them into photos (JPEG). However when I insert the photo into my video, clicking no to 'video merge' a thin grey border appears around the photo. I've checked and this is not there in the photo. It also appears if I leave the photo in photoshop format. Is there a way to not have this border? Let me know any important details I've missed off.
Many thanks,
Laurie

Thanks for the follow up. Glad that the cropping suggestion worked for you.
For your convenience, the following is a copy/paste of the Announcement at the top of this forum. All the details of the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce Roll Back are included
Announcement: Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
Hide Details
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports

If you want help you’ll need to give us more information. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • When I try to connect my iPhone to my laptop to import photos and videos it says there are no files or folders under "Apple Iphone". My laptop recognises my phone and my camera roll has around 300 photos and videos but none of them come up on my laptop?

The memory on my Phone is really bad so i cant store much. The pictures i am trying to import are really important and i cant lose them. My phone has been playing up a lot and im afraid of losing the pictures so tried to import them onto my laptop. Its a windows 8 and every time i connect my iphone a window automatically opens titled "Apple iphone" but underneath it says "no files or folders". How can i resolve this?
Also the apple store have told me not updating may be causing problems but i cant update due to no space. i have 3 apps, around 300 photos/videos and no music. it is 16gb so i dont know why im having this problem

This is how you import photos/videos:

  • Neither camera or screen damaged, grey circles appear in all photos. Any fix?

When i take a photo the images have grey circles appear, and also a red mark. I can zoom and turn photos and the marking move with what i'm doing so it isn't the screen. I have checked the camera from the outside, and even taken it to my local o2 store who i purchased the phone from and they cannot see any damage to the exterior of the phone. Any ideas on a way to fix this?

if you take a picture with the front camera does it do the same?  assuming your using the back camera.

  • Inserting photos in video

How can I insert a photo (or photos) in the middle of a video strip in Imovie 11 (9.0.4), leaving the audio intact while the pictures "play", then be able to return to view the rest of the filmstrip? When I drag a photo to the filmstrip, I indicate that I want to "insert" it, but it breaks the filmstrip and the audio stops.

First, go to iMovie/Preferences and make sure that the Advanced Tools are enabled.
Next, drag your photo and drop it on the video clip where you want it to start. A popup menu will appear. Choose "Cutaway".

  • Inserted Photos in Video - Won't Work on Google Video or YouTube

    Hey Everyone -
This is driving me NUTS. I've made a video and in two locations I pasted in a couple of images.
I did the whole procedure where I selected a "start" and "end" edit time in the clip of about 10 seconds, and then choose "Paste at Playhead" from the Advanced Menu.
Everything works just as it should ... the audio is extracted from the video and moved down to the next track, and the still image is inserted exactly where it's supposed to be.
On playback, it cuts to the still image, the audio from the video continues, and it resumes back to the video perfectly.
However, when I upload to GoogleVideo (file was too long for YouTube), it doesn't "honor" the time segment on the still iamge. It defaults to the 2 frames and flashes the image for a split second, then goes back into the video stream, and of course ... the audio is then out of sync.
The iMovie file plays back perfectly.
The QuickTime movie file that i'm uploading plays back perfectly.
So .. the QuickTime.mov source file is fine ... yet, after being uploaded to GoogleVideo and processed, something screws it up and the amount of time that was dedicated to the still image is gone, throwing everything off sync.
    Please help!
To see what I mean ... see these two files:
    The source QuickTime movie file:
    http://www.fredmckinnon.com/media/wc080707.mov
The video once processed to GoogleVideo:
    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3464155802821409277&hl=en
This has happened consistently on my last two videos, and I don't know what else to do, except not insert the still photos, which defeats part of the reason we do the video!
    Thanks in advance,
    Fred

Are the pictures larger than 1000x750 (I think that is the effective limit for SD) since I've read that overly large pictures cause problems

  • Why am I having lines/borders appearing around my placed Illustrator images in my Indesign Document?

After I save my InDesign Document and close it... When I open it back up again. There are borders around all of my Illustrator placed images.
I can't seem to find out what is causing them or how to get rid of them.
When I am working on the file with it open they are not there.. it's only after I save, close and reopen.
    What the heck????

    Thanks for asking Will....
I've gotten so confused with back issues of the file....saved in InDesign CC that I just started over..
Was simpler to do that than to try to fix the one I was working on.....
But while I have you trying to help me..
Could you tell me how to set the document setup for a new document in InDesign CC to inches?
I tried going into the preferences.... it's not there.. Looked through all of the preferences.. still can't find it.
The documents I'm working on are 47" x 28" or thereabouts and I am having to go back to InDesign 5.5
create the document there then open it in InDesign CC to have it the right size.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Powerpoint to PDF conversion leads to dark borders appearing around images in the pdf. How do I fix this?

Hi, so I'm doing a batch conversion of powerpoint presentations to PDF. The originals have icons with no borders around them, the final product has borders around all the images.
Is there a bunch of settings that I can change so that this doesn't happen?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
What is the version of PowerPoint and Acrobat you are using?
Please make sure that you have updated the Acrobat to its latest version. Go to Help -> Check for Updates.
Also, try printing the PPT to Adobe PDF printer and then check the issue.

  • Why does a grey box appear around my Illustrator document when I print it out in acrobat?

I am having this huge problem.  After I create a document in Illustrator, crop it (so it is print ready) , open the file in Acrobat to print, something unusual happens.  A greyed out tinted box appears to print which seems to be the specific area that I previously cropped in Illustrator.  This has never happened to me before until I switched to CS4.  Any suggestions as to how I prevent this from happening.  You can sort of see it happen in the preview window with the image I attached.

Well that's just the thing... I save the document as an ai.file and just usually open and print through acrobat.

  • Printing front panel of VI - no borders appear around the indicator box values

    Dear readers,
I am using Labview 6.1 on a pentium PC with adequate memory etc. I've been trying to print out the front panel of my VI using a postscript printer and the post script printing options available in the Labview. I notice that the printed front panel doesn't show the rectangular borders that is supposed to surround the values contained in indicators and controls.
Apart from this problem, everything looks good, such as it prints out in the way that I want...with nice white background to not waste ink.
Could someone please advise me on what options to set up in order to print the borders around the indicator box values? Thanks very much for any help.
    I noticed that for
an older Labview for the apple Mac, namely Labview 4 for the Mac, you can just print the window of the front panel and everything comes out wonderful....you get the borders around the indicator and control box values.
    Thanks again.
    Kenny Leong

    Hi Mike!
Thanks for replying to my post. Greatly appreciated. Is it possible to set the colours for the indicator edges? I'll attach a screen capture of my front panel, and also a digi-pic of the print out. The printout is ok except there's no borders around the indicator values. I printed it out on a hp laserjet 6MP printer as well as on a hp 4050 printer and the printed panels have no borders around the values. I'll attach my front panel vi too. Thanks a lot Mike.

  • Insert pictures and video

    Hello,
How can I insert videocuts into a show I recorded myself? I am in the studio, presenting a show and during the presentation I want to show pictures and video to the audience.
    * I wil first record the show in our studio
    * And then I insert pictures and video on certain places in the recorded show.
Is this possible in Imovie 8 or in one of the older imovies.
Or must I use finalcut for this?
    Thanks! Richard - The Netherlands

    Hello, Richard,
I have not used iMovie 8 much, so don't know about doing this in that version, but you can easily do this in iMovie HD 6.
I am not sure exactly how you want to do this. It depends on whether you want to place those photos and other video clips OVER the recorded show, so that the audio from the recorded show plays while the photos and videos are displayed, or if you want to have them ADDED in the midst of the recorded show.
If you just want to insert photos and videos in the midst of your recorded show, first import your recorded show into iMovie6. Put it in the timeline. Move the playhead to the point where you want the first photo, and do a 'split video at playhead' command, drag the photos/videos to the time line there. They will be added between the split video clips. Repeat for all the photos/videos.
It sounds as if the option you want is 'Paste Over at Playhead' which allows the photos and videos you add to be seen over the recorded show, so that the audio plays continually. In tv and movies this is done when someone is talking about something and then there is a 'cut-away' to a photo or video clip of whatever the person is describing so the audience can visualize what he is saying while he is speaking.
Here are instructions for doing that from iMovie HD6 Help:
*Inserting video clips or photos in a passage while maintaining running audio*
+You can paste a new video clip or photo over an existing clip while retaining the audio from the original clip. The video cuts away to a new picture, but you continue to hear the sound from the original clip.+
+To replace images in a clip while maintaining running audio:+
+Choose iMovie HD > Preferences, and then click General.+
+Select the "Extract audio when using Paste Over at Playhead" checkbox.+
+Select the video or photo that you want to insert.+
    +Choose Edit > Cut or Copy.+
    +Do one of the following:+
+To paste the entire video you selected in step 3, position the playhead at the first frame to be replaced. When you paste the clip, it will replace a portion of video equal to its length.+
+To paste over a specific segment of your movie, select the part of the video clip you want to paste over. (To learn more about selecting part of a video clip, see Related Topics below.)+
+If the video you're pasting is longer than the selected frame range, the excess video will not be pasted. If the video you're pasting is shorter than the selected frame range, the extra space will be filled with a color clip (or the still image, if you paste a still image).+
    +Choose Advanced > "Paste Over at Playhead."+
+The audio track of the original video is retained and appears in audio track 1 of the timeline viewer.+
Post back if this does not address what you are trying to do.

  • Help arranging photos and videos

How do you rearrange photos and videos just had them put on iphone4 and they are just in any order would like videos seperate and photos in order they were taken simple explanation please. Thanks

The thing is my phone does actually place all photos in a correct timeline. Even all my other photos taken with other Nokia devices and manually put in a random folder on the memorycard are shown on the phone in the right order. Photos from 2003 are placed among other 2003 photos. So I won't need to manually handle that but thanks.
I agree that creating albums will sort some of my mess out, so thanks. It's a lot easier to navigate to an album to find photos AND videos from the same event. But when creating an album I face the same problem - all videos will appear before the photos. This seems confusing since the videos of course also contain information on when recorded.
However it really is a shame that videos and photos don't display in the same timeline. Also affected by the fact that all my media captured since the backup is perfectly arranged by time and date. When remerged in an album, they still don't. I might have been lucky that they would.
But with 32gigs of space I won't have to move my collection for a long time. So I'll be fine from now on. I'll just have to create albums to navigate my way around 2500+ photos and videos already out of chronological order. Guess I can live with that. Thanks again for your reply man.

  • N8-00 fails in arranging photos and videos

    Hi guys,
I did a backup of all my photos and videos on my computer, to put them on a new microSD card. When I transferred the files to the memory card and opened "Photos" to see the overview the video files were put on top as if they were all of a newer date than all the photos.
When I took a new photo, it would be displayed before the videos.
But when I shot a new video it would appear among the new photos in a correct timeline. Now the 'storyline' of my photos and videos is messed up.
Is there any way to rearrange all my media back?
