Grey computer screen when syncing only on apps?

So I am syncing my touch no problem yesterday...today I can not seem to sync my apps, every other screen is active but the apps screen is gray with no way to click on any of the items in the Apps section only.
Weird..anyone?

go to setting --> general --> restrictions. You have to enable apps there.

Grey restart screen when empty trash

I get the grey restart screen when I empty the trash when certain files are in it. If I take the files out, I can empty the rest of the stuff in the trash, but if I put those files back in, I get the grey reset screen again. The files are on an external drive, and I have run both diskwarrior and Techtool on the drive, and they both say that the data is ok. So in short, is there any particular reason that this should be going on, and is there any way to delete those files, other than throwing them away, or wiping the hard drive clean? thanks for the help in advance!

just to clarify, is this "grey restart screen" a lovely grey overlay on your screen with the message to restart your computer printed in the middle in about 7 different languages? if so, that would be what we call a kernel panic, and it's useful to use that term for discussion purposes.
aside from clarifying that,... we'll also need more details about the files and external media.
if you feel up to it, you might try doing an rm in the terminal to see if that'll get rid of the files in question (go to the terminal, and type 'rm ' (don't type the quotes. they're only there to make sure you get the space) and then drag the file to the terminal to append its path to the command, and then hit return)

iPad 2 has a black screen which lights up to a grey black screen when I press the power or home button but I dont see the apple logo. The battery is fully charged and when I plug it in to my computer, I can use iTunes to do everythng except backup the iPad since its passcode locked. Please help me resolve this problem. I don't have apple care

Yup! I've been there! You just have to double-tap the screen with three fingers and the zoom should go back. You have to turn off the feature in Settings>Accessibility>Zoom>and turn the switch off so this won't happen again when you double-triple tap.

Sync only 1 app without loosing all other data

I am having trouble syncronizing only 1 app from my macbook to my ipad 2. After browsing and reading similar issues i can't seem to find a thread with the same issue as me.
As i said, i am trying to sync only 1 app from my macbook to my ipad 2, the problem is, as soon as i check the "SYNC APPS" box i am getting a warning about how all apps and their data will be deleted (see attached image)
Deleting and replacing the apps them selves would not be a problem, i am however concerned about loosing all the documents i have in one of my apps as it would be extremely time consuming to put them back the way they are.
As a side/history of the issue not, if it was a free app i would just re-download it, but it was a rather expensive paid app and when i go back in the app store to try and download it i am only getting the option to purchase it (i think maybe because it got a huge update). I really do not want to pay for an app that i have already paid for once.
Is there any way anybody can see to transfer the app from itunes on my macbook to my ipad without loosing the data and files within any of my other apps?

You do not have to sync the iPhone apps. You can select the content that you want to sync to the iPad and to the iPhone. You do not have to sync your entire iTunes library to either device. I copied this from another discussion explaining how a user and his wife can share an iTunes library but still sync only the content that they want to sync to each device.
First turn off auto sync in iTunes. Launch iTunes on the Mac and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from automatically syncing. Click OK and then quit iTunes.
Connect one of your devices to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the device name on the left side under the devices heading.
Click on a tab in iTunes - Apps for instance.
Click on the Apps that you want to sync to that device.
Make sure that the Sync Apps heading is checked.
Follow the same procedure for all of the other tabs in iTunes ..... Music, Photos, Movies and so on.
After you have finished making all of your selections, click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
When you are done, eject the first device and do the same thing with the other device. iTunes will now remember the sync configuration on each device.
You can change that configuration any time that you like by following the steps outlined above.
If you want to continue to auto sync, turn it back on in the iTunes preferences as described above.
Something like this should work for you as well.

How can I sync only certain apps after a restore instead of all of them?

I've been serisouly frustrated with iTunes trying to find a way to sync only the apps I want to sync. But iTunes insists that I sync every single app I have downloaded in the past to my phone and I don't want all of them on there. Now after restoring I have a bunch of apps on my phone waiting to sync and now have to either restore again or individually delete all 155 of them. Are there certain settings I'm missing here? Please help!!

FYI:
Select the iPhone in iTunes.
Click the Apps tab.
Click Sync apps and tick the apps you want to sync.
Click Apply at bottom.

You can't. Mirroring is just what it says, it mirrors exactly what is on your computer screen, if there is nothing on your computer screen, that's what you will see on your TV screen.

I used to be able to sync only certain apps but now there is no tick box to select which ones how do I do this now

The tick box seems to have disappeared from Apps when syncing - just bought a new ipad mini and don't want all my apps on it but without the tick box I'm not sure how to select only the ones I want. Can anyone tell me how I now select only certain apps.

Sync only iPad apps to iPad ?

Hello,
I have over 400 iPhone apps in my iTunes apps Library.
When I plug in my iPad, it wants to sync to the Library. However if I click Sync Apps - it selects all 400 of these apps, and would install them on the iPad if I let it. There appears to be no way to "Select All" or "UnSelect All" so it would appear the only way to not sync the iPhone apps to the iPad would be to individually click off each of the 400 apps tick boxes?
This is sheer madness!
There must be an "un-select" all option?
I only need to enable 5 or so iPad apps on this iPad.

After you connect the iPad, check the Sync Apps box ONCE and wait. Wait. Wait. Apparently it takes awhile for iTunes to import or discover all the apps. (Mine were all checked to begiu with, and grayed out.) If you have lots of apps, it will take awhile. Finally, the Apps display un-grayed, though all apps were still checked. Then, I checked the Synch box (it worked!) and unchecked all the apps except those I wanted synced to my iPad. All works fine now. This takes patience and time, which we're not used to on a PC. If something doesn't happen right away, I tend to click, click, click, end task, relauch, etc., thinking there is a problem. Just imagine the old Hour Glass up there for 10-20 minutes (the more apps the longer!) ... the first time only. This worked for me and hope it helps others.

My computer freezes when syncing?

I restore my iPhone 5s a few moments ago. After download the most recent iOS 7 software it started syncing. It synced all my apps and SOME music. But when it got to a certain track called "my love", iTunes freezes along with my whole computer. I tried syncing multiple times and I get the same result. The category's are messed up for some reason sorry for that.

Now I'm blocked.
I'm not a developer that"s why I'm using your solution and product.
For me the mix of Edge Animate and DPS with Indesign is the only solution to do what I want.
Now what solution are you giving to me ?
And I pay for this solution, but if it doesn't work why I still continue.
The people could not see my Apps on iOS 8 so they think that it is not a good Application !

How to stop mozilla from closing multiple intenet screens, when I only want to close one?

I switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox. I often have more than one internet screen open. When I go to close one of them, Firefox sends me a message like, "You are about to close 3 tabs." When I tell it to close, I lose all 3 internet screens. I only want to close one. How can I stop that?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

This seems to be going on around here for a couple of days. I have seen several discussions about the mail app opening to a bank screen with different variations and issues after the blank screen appears. I wish I could say that my suggestion is the definitive fix, but I can't. Give it a try anyway and see what happens.
Close the mail app completely and reset your iPad. Not data will be lost.
In order to close the mail app, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the mail app then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Why does my iPod crash to the home screen when I open an app?

My iPod touch has been crashing to the home screen when I stay on aps such as Safari, Facebook, or the App Store for a short period of time. For example, when I go to the App Store to update my apps it crashes right away, wheras in Safari it wll crash after a few minutes of browsing the web.
Are there ways to prevent this from happening?

How solve Grey Loading screen when LMS completion is 100% done

Hello,
I've read quite a lot of threads on the "grey loading screen" in this forum but the content remains buggy when i plug the content on an LMS with 100% completion
To reproduce the bug the user should :
1-Complete the course
2-Close the course
3-Re Open it
4-Move to a previous slide
5-Close the content
6-Use IE and syfadis as LMS
When we try to relauch the course, the grey loading screen appears and never goes.
I tried the hotfixes proposed but nothing happened.
Do you have any idea ?

Grey loading screen when start up + unable to start from disc

When I start up my MBP I get a very slow grey loading screen. After a while it starts up my mac and it runs like normal. So no i finally got sick of the 10 min waiting before start up, I decided to re-instal from disc. When i normally insert the disc it starts. then I select the Instal and it rebooths. But it stays on a grey screen when reboothing.
I also tryed to start it up with C and with holding alt and then selecting the cd. With C i get the same grey screen(Without loading bar and mac logo) and with Alt it just get stuck at selecting the cd.
When I go to Disk Utility then I can use Check disk but not the delete one.
I don't need to back up, just want it to work fine again.
I hope you can help me out.

While booted from the install disc, have you opened Disk Utility and checked SMART status and run Repair Disk?
