Grey screen display even though "aqua" theme selected
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me as this is really annoying me! Recently, instead of my theme being blue, it is grey. My computer starts up with a grey screen and apple logo (instead of blue like before), and even though I have selected "aqua" it is still grey or graphite. I haven't changed any settings. When I go to system preferences and display, if I select the default profile, the colour LCD one, it is a weird brown/yellowy color. All the other ones are various shades of grey rather than blue (which I have selected because it is preferable to the brown). I have no idea why my computer is doing this as it seemed to be working fine before. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, thanks for the reply but no that is not it. The background has colour, it is just the setting... like the dock is grey when I swear it used to be bluish, as well as bootup, and toolbars etc... and when I click the default Colour LCD setting it goes a weird brown colour. It is not a huge deal, just weird!

i downloaded the iTunes update to 11.1. Normally I just download one audio boo to my iPhone (5) at one time, this time, even though I had "selected audiobooks" checked and just the one audio book checked, it downloaded all of them. That's taking up almost a gig of space on my 16G phone. Before I realized it was trying to download every book, i deleted about 500 pictures (okay, I really needed to delete them anyway...) along with a bunch of apps I never use, to make room for what I thought was just the one new book I purchased.... is there a fix for this?

This could be done in many ways so it's quite hard to pin point what's going on and how it's done.
The first thing I would do is to reset the the router you have, creating a new password for loging on in case they have gained access this way, then create a new password for the wireless network if you are using it.
Then reinstall your computer, if they/you have installed some software and gotten a Trojan, the only way to get rid of it to 100% is to reinstall. There is no meaning in trying to find it and uninstalling it since it's gotten this far allready.
Depending on what router you have, you might be able to get the logs and see from where they are connecting and trying to pinpoint their location.
There are probably other ways to find out more, but if this happened to me, the first thing I would do is to get rid of the problem, ignoring who they are.

My G4 Apple PowerBook will not boot further than pale blue/grey screen displaying "flashing file symbol / flashing ?"
Last previous action: Used Firewire cable and "Target Mode" to copy files from G4 eMac to the PowerBook.
I worked from the eMac to the PowerBook, making the PowerBook the "Target". Files seemed to transfer OK. Won't boot from InstallDisc. Holding down T on startup results in Target mode screen. I have a G4 iMac and a G4 eMac. Can I use either of these with Firewire cable to boot-up my PowerBook ?

It sounds to me like the PowerBook is stuck in target disk mode.
It's expecting the iMac/eMac to be there when booting. Seeming it's not attached, it will show a flashing folder.
If your PowerBook internal drive is bootable, then simply hold down the option key when booting and select it's internal hard drive. That should boot your PowerBook into Mac OS X. -
Hi, I am using Firefox 5. Suddenly I lost my bookmarks toolbar even though I have selected it to be visible in the view option. But I can still view the bookmarks toolbar in my all-in one side bar
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
*Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
*Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
*If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".

Software keyboard has somehow switched to AZERTY and I can't switch it back to QUERTY even though this is the setting I've selected. Any ideas? Thanks, everyone!

Question why does 1 row(s) inserted display even though nothing was inserte
My question is when I run the below code in the sql workshop/sql command even though the insert statement is commented out. I still get the following message:
1 row(s) inserted.
Why? I check the table and I can seel that nothing was inserted. So why do I get the message 1 row(s) inserted.
I will be running this on an apex form. Should I worry about this?

Won't warn me when closing multiple tabs - even though it is selected in preferences.
When I close Firefox, it used to give me the option of saving my tabs. It doesn't do that anymore, even though I have that option selected under Preferences.
You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle with a double left-click.

Why are questions shown as wrong even though they are selected to be the right questions?
I tested my module after publishing and everything works great except the quiz. When I take the quiz, I get almost all of my answers wrong even though the answers that I select are the right answers chosen before publishing. Is this a bug with Captivate 8 or is there something I'm not doing right? Thanks!
User error. That makes sense now.
Just a tip: Having a Next button as well as a Submit button visible on a quiz slide is asking for trouble. I hide my Next buttons UNDERNEATH the Clear button. That way, they are visible ONLY when the user is Reviewing the quiz. That's about the only time they're actually needed anyway. -

I've got multiple gmail accounts setup in Mac Mail.
Somtimes when I send or forward emails, it uses the wrong FROM field even though I'm declaring
specifically which account to use.
This becomes apparent when the person replies to my message and it goes to the wrong accountCheck you accounts in Mail and make sure each account has the correct outgoing server address. Check the box to use only that server.
Second, go to the gmail website and in settings under the account tab, make sure you have the correct settings for replying to messages. -
Why is my text in AE italic, even though I've selected regular?
I have a new composition in After Effects with a two layers; a video for the background and a new text layer. The text in the layer is slanted to the right (just like I had set it to italics), even though I've set it to regular. If I set it to italic, it slants even more. I can't figure out what is up with this. I have italic text in a different composition in the project, but I created this text layer from scratch; I didn't copy and paste it. Is it just a quirk?
Tell me that text isn't italicized. However, the font is Arial, and it is set to regular. I did try highlighting and changing it several times, created a new layer, and even different fonts, all with no success.Like Todd, I suspect this is the issue:

My out going default greeting is in spanish even though i've chosen english in settings. My custom out going greeting is in english followed by a spanish statement. Whats up?
Everything should be current. As far as properties, my import is to "leave files in place". As for Library, I have included 2 pics.
I get that the DCIM could be triggering an issue but at the moment I have all 1TB (100 hours) of videos in and working in FCPX. Although I have had this "copy to library" issue along the way. And those files seem to work fine. As a test I even changed a source file's name and it remained linked to the file in FCP. I also deleted a file and restored it using one of my backup files on a seperate drive with no issue. It seems like it's working with the files just fine but the import is giving me grief.
I was able to import and "keep in place" today by dragging and dropping the folders directly into FCP and it worked this time. Should I worry about anything with all the files I have already brought in from a sd card copy?
Do you think I need to do something different when I copy and import my media in the future? I prefer to use the original MP4s as optimized media takes up twice the space or more.
