Grey spots in photos/when taking pictures

i recived the iphone 5 as a birthday present in october, to be precise october 3rd, and now im on a family vacation to nantucket and despite the rather crazy weathher going from gloomy to beatiful i like to take lots of picture with the amazing camera. but for some reason there are grey/ dark circles when i take pictures. they started when i got on to the ferry over to the island which is verry annoying. i dont think that they are caused by water, or dropping, or dust. the circles are perfectely circular and there are a bunch of them but one standout from the rest. does any one know why this has happened? i will probably take it to the genius bar to have it fixed, but because there are no apple stores on the island i will have to wait until i get back to the mainland. grrrrr. apple, i hope you fix this problem and do something about foxcom screwing up so many iphones. grrrrrrrr.

I have same issue that just appeared today.  Ive had the phone since launch day and never had a problem with camera until now.  Taking it into Apple store on Friday.

  • I have a white haze over photos when taking a picture with my flash

I have a white haze over photos when taking a picture with my flash.  What can I do to fix it?

After the ios7 update, my wife's phone began having these same issues and we assumed it was a flaw with the update.
But  after some trial and error, we concluded it was the illumination of the  white plastic backing of the iPhone 4.  We tried a different protective  case, we blackened the apeture of the black case with a black sharpie,  none of those things worked.
It  was noted that the white and blurry photos only occurred with a case  installed.  Without a case, the photos were perfect.  It is a *** issue.
Since  we were using a case and appearance was not that big of an issue, I  decided to apply a strip of black electrical tape with holes punched out  for the camera and flash mechanisms and reapplied the protective case.   This tacky fix solved 95% of the white blurry look to the flash photos.
So  a work-around is to apply a non-transparent piece of tape, or sticker  with appropiate sized holes for the camera lens and flash LED on the  back of the white plastic phone case.  It's tacky, it's a poor design  from apple, but it works.

    Hello,
I am using the iPhone 4s.. n i have noticed lately that i get a spot on the photos while taking pictures from iphone 4s against light/bright light.  If I take a normal photo with the lens not facing directly to the light, I dont get the spot.  I have attached some of d pics taken by me both against the direct sunlight and one against the night street lights.  Please let me know if this is a minor issue or shall I get it replcaed..
    Appreciate your help in advance.
    Happy New Year 2012.
    Thanks
    Prakash

There may be something corrupt in your camera roll, or a photo you saved from an email, text message or from the internet preventing them from importing.  You might try transferring them wirelessly to your computer using an app like PhotoSync.  If they transfer successfully, delete them from camera roll then take a new photo and see if iPhoto will import it now.

  • When taking pictures with my iPhone 4S with flash the pictures are blue

When taking pictures with my iPhone 4S and when I use the flash the pictures come out blue but wen I don't use the flash the pictures come out great. Can someone please answer my question to why that is happening

Do you have a case on your phone? Many cases get a reflection from the sides and bleed light over the picture.
The flash is naturally green/blue colour anyway..so it could be just that.

  • Freezing/hanging when taking pictures and videos  in i phone 4

freezing/hanging when taking pictures and videos  in i phone 4 with flash on.

    Hi Mister.
Let's try to answer your questions.
    - The E5 does not have a red light when you take pictures.
    - I don't know about battery life comparing with E6 and E72, just can say on the E5 is quite good. It has a 1200 mAh battery, you should check the others, but also the features of each one, i.e. the E6 is a touchscreen one, so it consumes more power.
    - It has a notification white light, around the navigation button.
    Regards.

  • Bug Report - WebOS 1.3.1 - Photos - Deletes old photos when taking new ones

Hello.  I just noticed that when taking new pictures with me Pre (on WebOS 1.3.1), the numbering has reset, starting at CIMG0001 and when I take new pics, the old pics designated as CIMG0001, CIMG0002, CIMG003, etc. are being deleted and replaced with these new pics.  I currently have 164 pics in my photo roll and notice that when I take  a new picture, the number of pics stays at 164 (instead of adding a new pic and making the new total 164).  I just noticed this bug yesterday, but I upgraded to WebOS1.3.1 last weekend.  I read another posting at everythingpre.com with possibly the same issue:
30 photo max: WebOS 1.3.1 Bug
    Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I just joined looking for someone with my same issue... Once I hit 30 photos, it starts randomly deleting my old pics... I just got the phone a week ago and updated it to the new firmware right away, so I donno if it's firmware related or what, but is there a fix?

  • Silence shutter sound when taking picture?

    Hello all,
I was curious to know if there was a way to silence the shutter sound effect when taking a picture during an ichat session. That is, so that neither I, nor the person on the opposite side, can hear it. Also, if there is a way to turn off this sound effect when taking full screenshots, please let me know. I use this feature a lot when designing presentations, and hearing this noise over my music is driving me absolutely insane.
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
Not simply is the short answer.
    Possibles.
Go to System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects
Turn the volume down for Alerts (iChat sounds are played as if they were System Alerts).
iTunes has it's own volume where you can adjust it to be louder of softer compared to the Master Volume setting (and therefore louder than the Alerts)
    Deeper method for iChat.
Right/Control Click the app in Applications.
    USe the Show Contents item
    Open Contents
    Open Resources.
    Change name of Shutter sound.
It will now not play in iChat.
Using the Keyboard to take Screen shots invokes a sound I have not looked for (it is not associated with the Grab App in Applications/Utilities than can turn the sound Off)

  • How do I change the settings on my ipad camera when taking pictures?

When I take pictures using my new iPad 4 Retina IOS 7  the pictures are HUGE!   I have found I can send a max of only  5 pics. in an e mail and use the medium setting offered IN THE MAIL SETTING.  But that is a lot of emails to have to send to yourself  when you have lots of  pictures.
So to just end this whole resize issue where is the SETTING to CHANGE the PHOTO SIZE WHEN or BEFORE you TAKE the pictures? I love the quality (would be nicer if it had flash or a telephoto lense but still nice pics).
I finally DID figure out how to transfer pics from my iPAD to my PC (Dell Laptop) NEVER COULD GET IT DONE  USING iTunes. So got the app.
transfer pro" for $2.99  for this and am VERY happy with it. Makes it so easy to do.  But again when they are huge at 13 inches X16 inches  or something crazy all I do is end up with having to resize EVERY SINGLE PHOTO I took on my iPad in Photoshop on my Dell PC Laptop.
Would appreciate the answer to HOW TO GET TO THE SETTINGS TO change on  my iPAD camera.  Thank you,
    Antoinette

Whow what a shame, I thought this iPad was going to be terrific.  Guess I'll get out my trusty Cannon from now on, lots less hassle.
    Thank you for the reply!

  • Black screen when taking picture in imessage

I have a new iphone 6 and updated to iOS-8.02.  When I try to send a message and include a picture, I click on the camera icon, and can take the first picture.  When I try to do it again, I get a black screen...  Nothing appears.  I have to go to multi-tasking and close the imessage app, before I can get the opportunity to take another picture inside of imessage.  I don't have any problems using the camera normally,  Tried this on my daughters iphone 5 with iOS 8.02 and she has same issue.
    Any ideas?
Is Apple aware of this issue and working on it?   Or is this a new problem?

Sounds like the known bug in Windows 8.
Update your video card drivers from the GPU maker's website.
Or set the GPU mode in Photoshop down to "Basic".
Microsoft hasn't released a fix yet, but those should work around the bug.

  • Duplicated photos when importing pictures from an external hard drive

I've just bought a Macbook Air and am trying to import all of my photos from an external hard drive (I was previously using Windows 7).
I started off by importing them to iPhoto but lost all of my folders and found it hard to organise the pictures so then stopped doing that, deleted all the pictures and started again. My next attempt was to open 'Pictures' in the Finder window and I then dragged and dropped the folders of photos from my external drive into this window. The pictures all copied inside the folders but as well as the original photo it's also created another folder for each picture with the same name as the photo but ending in .files. Inside the file is two additional copies of each folder starting with the name 'vcm_s_'. One photo seems to be a high res version and the lower a low res version. See an example of this below:
Anyone have any idea why it's created these folders and how I stop it happening?
    Thank you!

    Thomas
Drag them to the iPhoto Window or use the File -> Import command.
    Regards

  • Why is there too much exposure when taking pictures?

My pictures come out over exposed when I take a picture with the flash any ideas why?

As with any point and shoot camera, the flash is of limited utility. If you get to close to someone while using it, they will appear over exposed. Try moving away from the person. Or, better yet, if you can, turn the flash off and turn on more lights.
You may also want to try removing any case you have. Some of them interfer with exposure controls.
