  • Large Grey Band at Bottom of Screen

    Large Grey Band at Bottom of Screen when I do a full monitor view on Photoshop.  It doesn't always happen. Been using PS for more then a decade and never seen this problem.
    I'm using the most recent Photoshop
    I'm using OS X 10.9.3

    We prefer not believe anyone that says that.  Please give a specific, exact version.
    Many, many users turn out to be wrong when they tell us that in good faith.
    As Gene says, your OS is also not up to date.

  • Grey bar at bottom of screen disappeared for all websites, how do i get it back

    all of a sudden the grey bar at bottom disappeared. it no longer tells me if a page is loading, connecting, etc
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == the other day out of the blue

    It is possible that the screen is too high and that the status bar and scroll bar fall off at the bottom.
    Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.
    If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.
    See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resizing_oversize_window
    Window sizes and positions are stored in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder].
    Delete ''localstore.rdf'' or rename to '''localstore.rdf.sav''' in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to test if the file is corrupted.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf
    (caution: do not delete the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox program installation folder)
    Note:
    Deleting the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] will reset the customizations of the toolbars to the defaults.
    You can rename ''localstore.rdf'' to '''localstore.rdf.sav''' to test if that solves it.
    Then you can restore the customization by copying ''localstore.rdf.sav'' to ''localstore.rdf'' if it didn't work.

  • Grey bar at bottom of screen & un clear text after sleep ?

    When I start my mac up now there is a grey bar at the bottom of the screen ?
    After my mac mini has been woken after sleeping the grey bar has gone but the screen is enlarged like it's zoomed in or something so not all of the screen is visable such as the menu bar at the top and the text on the screen is slightly doubled. The grey bar that was at the bottom is now not visable due to the screen being enlarged.
    This has only happened after the last OS up date I think.
    Can any one help me please.
    Leon

    Hi Carolyn Thank you very much for getting back so swiftly unlike this reply. I have tried what you said but the only resolutions I have on offer are
    640x480
    640x480 (stretched)
    720x480
    720x576
    800x600
    1024x576
    1280x720
    1920x1080 (interlaced)
    I have tried each one of these and it doesn't help really, now the bottom part of the screen has gone until I restart again : (
    Thanks again.

  • Why has the apps in my grey bar at bottom gone?

    Since Down loading the new software, the short cut app's have disappeared, I have power cycled it and even left it turned off for a time and still all the apps that would be on it have disappeared.

    What do you mean by "short cut apps"? Are you referring to the multi-tasking bar that you used to invoke by double-pressing the Home button (or swiping up with 4 or 5 fingers) or something else?
    What version of iOS did you upgrade from and what version are you now using? The multi-tasking bar was replaced by a new multi-tasking screen in iOS 7 (and in iOS 8 that screen now shows recent contacts as well as recently used apps):

  • IMac running Mountain Lion, start up screen has grey bar at bottom which when full Mac turns off.

    Mac won"t start

    Your Mac is attempting to start in Safe Mode, when it does this if it takes a long time and fails this indicates you may have a HD problem. You did not complete a profile so we have no idea what version of OS X is installed. However I would recommend you run Apple's Hardware Test in extended modeat least 3X back to back. If any errors appear this has confirmed you have a hardware problem. The next step is to take the machine to your local Apple Store or AASP.
    Finally if you want additional help please fully complete your profile.You can find instrucitons for doing so at:

  • How do I alter the grey bar since ios7 on iphone 4?

    I have a query that I have seen on various forumes concerning the grey bar at bottom of screen that seems to be a solid colour, rather than the translucent one in ios6. This new look of the ios7 seems to be a perment thing, I have checked settings and cannot find any way of making it either lighter, translucent or even smaller. This appearance gives the wallpaper and phone screen a childish look. Please can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

    You are correct. There is no setting you can change to change the appearance of that bar. You can provide feedback to Apple to let them know how you feel by going to www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.

  • Some pictures in iPhoto won't show or copy, but they're there

    I'm using iPhoto 9.2.2. Did an update from the App Store just last week but didn't notice if this problem had anything to do with that update.
    On some Events, some pictures seem to be missing. At first when I open the Event some of the thumbnails are there and some are thumbnails of one same random picture of wallets that I didn't even realize I had in my Library (I might have added it by accident). After a few seconds all of these thumbnails turn into grey ones, as if the picture wasn't there, but when I double click it I'm able to open most of the missing pictures normally - not all. Here's a screenshot:
    When I first open the Event all of the missing photos look like the one with the wallets, but after a few seconds they all turn grey like the bottom ones, except for the ones that seem normal from the beggining. iPhoto says the Event has 88 photos and that includes the greyed out/wallet ones. When I open each of them, some show me a normal picture and some show me a blank page. I can't copy the Event or any of these individually. This is happening with more than one Event, but not all. I suspect if might only be happening with merged Events, but I can't be sure. I also suspect it might have something to do with pictures that have the same name as other pictures in my Library.
    I would try to rebuild my library, but the whole reason why I'm trying to copy these pictures is that I just lost my backup drive. So this IS my backup right now. These are pictures I never really look at so I have no idea when this started. I also can't seem to find the real wallet picture to see what would happen if I deleted it. I think I must have saved it accidentaly from the internet.
    Help?

    If you have the space available on your hard drive and don't aready have a backup copy of the library make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
    Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
    Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
    In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • How to have 2 link colors on one page?

    Learning CSS and am unable to make this happen. What am I doing wrong?
    http://larrysullivandesign.com/sourceprintmedia.com/_contact.html
    http://larrysullivandesign.com/sourceprintmedia.com/sourceprintmedia.css
    The text links at page bottom (link-typeA) load up blue, even though the stylesheet calls for them to be gray (#E8E8E8), so they'll read on dark background.
    I want blue links site-wide, and grey at page bottom, only for link-typeA
    I want only one style sheet, if possible.
    How do I make all the link stage (active,hover, etc) colors apply to just link-typeA ? Only way I can see is in Page Properties, which makes one single embedded style on each page. confused....
    thanks!

    The divs are always referenced in the body and then you assign a class to that div. You can also asign a class to a table if you are using tables.
    First make a refernce to an external style sheet and place all your css in there.
    make your page and then assign the classes to the divs or tables.
    If you think of a div as a container then you assign a class of (footer) to the container. The reference then looks to the external style sheet of where to find that class and then finds the .footer and assigns the correct attributes to it such as the .footer a:link{color:#000;}
    you can also see the styles and assign them without handcoding by going to window/CSS styles

  • Help please! Imac won't start and running out of ideas

    Help! My imac G4 Flat Panel running tiger won't boot or go beyond the grey screen, here's what happened,
    I went away on holiday for ten days and unplugged it, on return it worked fine for the first few goes however after leaving it with alot of photos open for a couple of hours I returned and the screen had gone funny, showed the app window on top but not properly and grey on the bottom two thirds, I could just about move the mouse which was ghosting and it sort of worked but not properly, I switched it off on the power switch and rebooted and it was okay for a few more sessions until getting stuck with the mail app open, I tried to force quit but couldn't and eventually turned it off on the switch, after which it won't boot or go beyond the grey screen every time I switch it on, I've tried all the following with no joy:
    -unplugged all peripherals
    -taken out airport card and extra ram I'd fitted myself about six months ago
    - done command, option, p and r on switching on, also command x and command option.
    - tried to boot from the original os x cd which came with it - this gives me a broken mac symbol and multicoloured spinning ball
    - boot from os9 disk which came with it this gives me a flashing question mark sometimes but most times just the grey screen.
    - boot from apple hardware test diagnostic cd which came with it, just says loading and hangs
    - boot from tiger dvd - shows the apple logo then a sign similar to no entry sign and spinning thing underneath.
    I've tried rebooting about 100 times now, as it once did a similar thing about eight months ago but eventually booted okay and then I ran check permissions etc. and never had a problem until now.
    I've put everything I can think of in in case any of it is important, apologies if there's too much extra info here but if anyone has any ideas I'd be very grateful, am a bit stuck without it, luckily I've backed up most of my stuff but there's some things I haven't. please help! thanks

    Sorry to hear about your problem and I wish I had happy news. Sounds like what I am going through. Just spent over 200$ getting the Tiger upgrade installed at a Mac repair place because I wanted it done right, and had the RAM upgraded. After two weeks of bliss I get a gray screen with a spinning gear. The CD drawer wont open, nothing. Take it back to the shop and I find my hard drive is done. This is the SECOND hard drive. My G-4 came with a 40 gig HD, the one that they replaced it with 2 years ago was an 80 gig. I hope thats not whats going on with yours but it sure sounds like it. I beginning to wonder if there isn't a design issue going on here. I am a casual computer user but my son is on it for hours at a time and I'm wondering about heat buildup and the hard drive. Gonna ask that question when I pick it up, good luck with yours.

  • Block Eraser cursor area is ambiguous/inaccurate

    The block eraser used to make a hole exactly the size of its silhouette. Now it's completely ambiguous: the black outline of the block eraser is 15px square, and the gray outline around it is 17px square, yet it makes a 16px hole. Fix this, please!
    #3145306

    Hi Kris,
    I tried to recreate this but wasn't getting the behavior you described. I was testing on a Mac. I created two layers top with 50% grey fill and bottom with black. Using the eraser tool in Block mode at 100% view on the top layer it created a completely opaque cutout with no transparent pixels around the edges, for comparison I also set it to brush mode with a 20 pixel square brush right below it this did leave the transparent edge pixels as expected. I had the pixel grid on and zoomed to 1200% for the screen shot. What steps were you going through to reach this result? Were you on PC?

  • Half screen goes dark on macbook 2.13 ghz intel core 2 duo

    Hi everybody...I am having problems with the screen on my MacBook Laptop. Half the screen has greyed out (the bottom half). All of a sudden using the MacBook, the half the screen goes grey, perfectly in horizontal. I´ve been with Apple 21 yrs, I have zapped the PRAM, taken out Ram, put it back in, repaired permissions, passed it thru Disk Warrior. I am out of solutions...Has anybody experienced these problems?
    What were your symptoms? Thank you so much to all the good people out there.
    Pepe M

    Let's find out for sure if this is a hardware issue. Boot the MacBook holding down the option key to get to the startup manager. Is the problem present here?
    If so your MacBook has a hardware problem. Contact Apple using expresslane.apple.com if you are in a country that supports it or call the appropriate phone number on this page. Alternatively carry the MacBook in to an Apple retail store or service provider to ask for an estimate.
    Best of luck.

  • Exif date change within iphoto11 -which is the most user friendly editor ?

    Hi I am newbie - prior to addressing this question -I have read numerous posts to try and find a solution to this problem but am still unsure as how to resolve it - I transferred a number of photo''s from PC to Mac when I purchased the Mac earlier this year - the iphoto events do not reflect the folders in chronological date that I had in picasa -  - it seems that iphoto categorize events (even if unnamed) according to exifdata -
    The problem I am faced with is that by way of example - although a folder has been titled December 23 2006( and is reflected as an event) - the date reflected in iphoto is January 1 1980 - December 31 2005 (according to erroneous data transfer / incorrect date on the camera (possibly the default date)---- these dates can be seen in grey to the bottom left of the named event which is December 23 2006(when you run your mouse beneath the event title (or unnamed event)
    I tried to change the date , by adjusting the date within iphoto and doing batch change - the problem is that while I have appeared to change the date - the grey dates (1980-1985) remain - I have tried to research an exif editor that would do this - I found better finder attributes 5 - which I have not yet purchased - According to the website of better finder attributes 5 -it seems that if  photo's are already in iphoto with the incorrect exif date date - then you need to export the photo's you are attempting to correct -then run better finder attributes 5 -change the exif information and then import them back into iphoto with the correct date
    my questions
    1. If  I use  better finder attributes 5 - will the grey date (1980-1985) go away once I import the batch of photos with the correct amended date ?
    2. Is better finder attributes 5 the simpliest and easiest exif editor to use in conjuntion with iphoto ?
    3  Is there any exifdate editor that works within iphoto - once you have photo's in the event section of iphoto with the wrong date ?
    Any advice would be most appreciated
    Thanks

    1. If  I use  better finder attributes 5 - will the grey date (1980-1985) go away once I import the batch of photos with the correct amended date ?
    Possibly, but another thing to try:
    Select all the photos in an Event. Flag Them. Then go 'Create Event from Flagged Photos'
    2. Is better finder attributes 5 the simpliest and easiest exif editor to use in conjuntion with iphoto ?
    No, iPhoto is. And if it involves exporting from iPhoto, running the program and then re-importing that's hardly "in conjunction with iPhoto"
    3  Is there any exifdate editor that works within iphoto - once you have photo's in the event section of iphoto with the wrong date ?
    Apart from iPhoto no. The problem here is simply that the database is not rechecking the dates on the photos as you update them, and then updating the Event dates. Creating a new Event from the same photos should force that correction.

  • URGENT - Applet

    Hi there,
    I have a problem that I urgently need fixed. I have an applet which runs fine on my local machine i.e. using localhost. But when I connect to the network and try to run it off another machine the screen is grey. The bottom of the screen says Applet Appletname started. I am not getting any errors. The following it the HTML file used:
    <HTML>

    I used the HTML Converter to generate this because Im using a JApplet(Its a swing application). I have a folder called Router which contains: Router_Router.html(above) and Router.jar(contains all the class files). I also have the class files all copied into this folder.The applet is called Router.java.
    Hope someone can help!
    Thanks
    Jacintha

    I'm also having another problem which might actually be my whole problem - in the applet I want to display an image - I have the following code:
    public Image getImage(){
    Image img = getToolkit().getImage("C:/road.jpg");
    MediaTracker tracker = new MediaTracker(this);
    tracker.addImage(img,0);
    try{
    tracker.waitForID(0);
    catch (InterruptedException e){}
    return img;
    But of course I cant do this ("C:...") when I want to run over the network - so when I use the ip address of my machine when running it in a browser on my local machine - the image does not appear. Where should I put this image - beside the HTML files and the jar?? in the jar? Or will it be relative to where the .java files is? These are seperate to the folder containing the HTML file.

  • Hyperion Integration server - updating the cube through AIS

    Hi All,
    we have an existing ASO cube with 12 dimensions and there is a requirement to add another dimension to the same cube. There are currently 16 drill through reports defined against the cube. I have not worked with the AIS earlier but have an overall idea . So if i want to add another dimension through AIS..What are the
    things i have to do ..starting from creating/having a dimension table for the new dimension
    what are the things i have to take care of?etc
    Thanks a lot for your time

    Ensure you have a column(s) in your dimension table that can join to the fact table. In EIS open the Model for this particular cube. On the left side find your dimension table and drag it on to the model. Answer yes when it asks if you want to add the table to the current model. Click the "Add Joins Mode" icon then click the fact table object and DRAG and let go on your dimension table. A popup should appear "Create new dimension". Change the name if you wish, then click OK. Another popup appears "Edit join info for...". Choose the columns to join on and click "Add" then "Close". Save the model. Open the EIS outline for this model and assuming you didn't already have it open you'll find your new dimension table on the left. Drag the level-0 (bottom most level) column that you're putting in this cube over to the outline name on the right and let go, or wherever you want to add the dimension and go from there.
    If the outline is using User Defined SQL then you'll be prompted "User defined data load SQLs may not be valid anymore. Do you want to delete them? Pressing No will prompt you to edit the SQLs." Choose "No". A "SQL Override" window will appear where you can type in your column name to the Select list (for a hint of what to do look at what it put in the Standard Dataload SQL in grey at the bottom & go from there). Put your new column in the same order in the Select statement that the Standard Dataload SQL has it in.
    Then it's probably good to edit each of the drillthrough reports. With the EIS outline open, from the menu choose Edit | Drill-through Reports. Expand each report and decide whether you need to specify a certain intersection level for this new dimension - meaning, at what level do you want to force the users to have to select a value before you'll let them 'see' the drillthrough report. If it doesn't matter for this new dimension then just click OLAP Intersection Levels, Add, then click on your new dimension then the right arrow to add it to the list of intersections and click Close.
    Let me know if you need additional assistance.
    Good luck,
    Karen Smejkal
