Greyed out folders can't be opened

I just downloaded a torrent file via Vuze and the file is in a folder "Vuze Downloads"
In fact there are 2 "Vuze Download" Folders, an extra one with a suffix 2
The one with the suffix 2 is visible and is empty (0 kb)
The original one is greyed out and has 3.5GB of files but I can't see them
I never had this before I upgraded to a new iMac 5K with OS X Yosemite
Why are these files duplicated?
Additional info. I have a SoftRaid external drive (RAID 5) but...these files are NOT on that drive, they are on the internal hybrid 3TB drive.
This is really frustrating.

No error message came up. It appeared to sync correctly, except that most songs were greyed out on iTunes as well as the iPad. The greyed ones had a little icon to the left of them that looked like a refresh button, but it didn't do anything.

Assuming this is an iCloud mail account, sign out of iCloud in its preference pane, then sign back in with the new password.

If you can't get the exported .csv file to work you might consider using Migration Assistant: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2518, particular if you need to move more than just your contacts. There is some granularity in the options on what to transfer but I'm not sure if you can choose to just your migrate contacts.

Have you selected an image?
Unless a good explanation appears, you may start onthe list below.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

If you don't remember your restrictions passcode, you will have to force the phone into recovery mode and restore it using iTunes. Do NOT restore your backup. The restrictions passcode is part of the backup.
Everything on the phone will be lost.
You can extract the photos from the camera roll the same way you would from any other digital camera. Having a restriction passcode set should not prevent that. do that before you put the phone in recovery mode and restore it.

You might find it helpful to "try before you buy" - there is a 30 day free trial offer for Office for Mac 2011, accessible from M's .com website.
You may be able to use this period to open and resave your old documents in a format that enables you to switch instead to using Apple's iWorks apps moving forward.
I initially intended to do something similar, but ended up buying Office as it provided an easier way (for me, at least) to continue working with years worth of old emails, letters, spreadsheets and other documents (from my PC days) without risking damage to their integrity, formatting, etc.

You need to select your iPod in iTunes. The command (from the menu bar?) is disabled because you have not selected a device for which the command is applicable.
The latest iTunes may hide the sidebar. To show the sidebar, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. In the sidebar, find and select the iPod under DEVICES.
Once the iPod is selected, you can select the Sync command under File -> Devices in the menu bar. You can also just click the Sync button at the bottom left corner of the iTunes window (when the iPod is selected).

Have you verified that your Windows 8.1 is a Pro or Enterprise edition? The Basic edition cannot join a domain.

Turn Off your current passcode. You should now be able to turn on Simple Passcode.
Note that your iPad may have a profile installed which prohibits using Simple Passcodes.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
After the device has turned off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Well, I don't understand this any more than when I posted, but it seems that it's the Animation codec that is the culprit. If I export using DV, there's no problem conforming to 24. Anyone have any ideas why that might be the case?

Using the same Ethernet cable that is used to connect the modem to the AirPort Extreme, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the AirPort Extreme and connect it directly to your Mac as a test for 4-6 hours.
Be sure to power off the modem for 5-10 minutes when you do this, so that it will associate with the new device that it "sees".
Does the connection drop when you connect this way? If yes, then replace the Ethernet cable and run the test again for 4-6 hours.
If the connection still drops, you likely have a defective modem or a line problem on the cable service....despite what the cable company might say.
If the connection remains solid when you run the "test", then you know that the modem and Ethernet cable are working correctly.
If you have performed a factory default reset on the AirPort Extreme a few times, and connection still drops, then you should take the AirPort to an Apple Store....if you have one near you..... to let them take a look, or contact Apple Support directly.

All iWeb options are greyed-out, and can't make a new sites or pages.

I am having a very annoying problem with iWeb. Every option is greyed-out! I can't make a new page or site, and it quits as soon as I close the iWeb window. It is version 1.1.2 I have tried installing useless updates for iWeb that did nothing, and I've tried to open iWeb from iPhoto by clicking the iWeb button, which also did nothing. I'm just about to give up on it.
Can anybody please point me in the right direction or have a fix for this? All help will be appreciated!

The answer to your problem isn't necessarily the simplest, but I'm 99% sure that it will work for you.
You need to delete and reinstall iWeb. Not hard to do; you just need your installation DVD's that came with your machine.
Drag the iWeb.app from your Applications folder to the trash. Spotlight for other elements of iWeb, and trash those as well. Empty the trash and restart your machine.
On your recovery disks, as you move through the prompts, look for "Install bundled software". Customize the install to include only iWeb. After reinstalling iWeb you will be back to 1.0.1.
Update the app to 1.1.1 directly from this link:

This will get you going, and you can update to 1.1.2 when you are sure everything is working properly. For other FAQ on iWeb, please see this link:

You can do one of the following after you have highlighted what you want to copy:
*click the Firefox button, the middle icon (looks like 2 pages with folded corners) will be available for clicking; that icon is "Copy" if you rest your cursor over the icon
*click the Firefox button, click the small triangle at the far right of Edit, click "Copy"
*in Windows, click Ctrl+C to "Copy" (Ctrl+V will "Paste")
I have "Copy", "Paste" and "Cut" buttons on the Customize Palette which you can drag to a toolbar. To open the Customize toolbar window, click Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout; if using the Menu Bar, click View > Toolbars > Customize.
