Grid control 10g proxy change

Dear all.
I am new in oracle grid control 10g.
I just did the installation, but I have an critical alert " Number of Active Agents exceeded the critical threshold (1). Current value: 0"
As I understand this is because I put a proxy wile installing grid control and because of our proxy does not see local addresses grid controls does not see this agent.
How can I tell grid control to avoid proxy if he tries to connect to local address?

Have a look at $ORACLE_HOME\install\portlist.ini for the ports in use for your installation.
By Default, it uses the non-secure port of 4889 which I do not think requires opening.

  • Alert Log File Monitoring of 8i and 9i Databases with EM Grid Control 10g

Is it possible to monitor alert log errors in Oracle 8i/9i Databases with EM Grid Control 10g and EM 10g agents? If yes, is it possible to get some kind of notification?
I know that in 10g Database, it is possible to use server generated alerts, but what about 8i/9i?
    Regards,
    Martin

    Hello
i am interested in a very special feature: is it possible to get notified if alerts occur in alert logs in an 8i/9i database when using Grid control and the 10g agent on the 8i/9i systems?
Moreover, the 10g agent should be able to get Performance Data using the v$ views or direct sga access without using statspack, right?
Do you know where I can find documentation about the supported features when using Grid Control with 8i/9i databases?

  • How to install Grid Control 10g Release 3?

    Hello,
I need install Grid Control 10g Release 3 for Linux x86_64 on SUSE 9, and I need some tips about this instalation.
I need registry 3 database, 1 DB is 10g and the others are in 9.2.
    Can I help me?
    Thank's

If you installed the 64-bit SLES-9, you are on the only platform that has a full install of 10gR3 Grid Control available:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oem/index.html
Everyone else must install 10gR2 fully, then patch up to 10gR3.
    Run runInstaller to start installation
    - When asked for "install type" option, choose "Enterprise Manager using New Database" option
    - Complete installation as per install guide
    - Install the 10gR3 agent install on any additional servers that require monitoring.
Load and execute orarun to enable the correct kernel options if you not done so already. It can be downloaded from www.suse.com/oracle. Comment out any IPv6 entries from /etc/hosts. The O/S should be setup similar to the AS 10.1.2 install doc for SLES9:
    http://ftp.novell.com/partners/oracle/docs/iAS10gR2_sles9_install.pdf

  • OEM Grid control 10g on Linux

    Hello,
I have installed OEM grid control 10g and able to connect to the console via the sysman user id.
I am trying to configure email notification, but though I put all credentials properly I am not able to receive any emails.
I was looking at Oracle documentation and it says....
The SMTP server is the name of the mail server (for examplemail.acme.com).
For Linux, the SMTP server must be the local host name.Use the fully qualified host name (including domain
Does the smtp server need to on the localhost ? can't it work with a smtp server on a different host than the grid control box ?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
    S.

The smtp service doesn't need to be on the host you installed grid control, Grid control can use any smtp server as long as it can reach it.

  • OEM Grid Control 10g Deployment

    Hi,
We are planning to deploy OEM Grid Control 10g (with Diagnostics and Performance Management packs) for management and monitoring of following targets:
    Oracle Databases (9.2.x, 10.x) - 12
    Oracle Application Servers 10g - 6
OEM documentation states that for smaller deployments (targets < 100); following h/w specs would be sufficient:
    CPU: 1 (3GHz)
Memory: 4 GB (2GB for OMS, 2GB for OMR)
Disk Storage: 12 GB (2GB for OMS, 10GB for OMR)
    I want to know:
    i) Will that amount of disk storage will be sufficient?
ii) What would be the growth rate of OMR (Oracle Management Repository)?
iii) What other factors should be considered?
    All suggestions are welcome.
    Regards,
    Preet

    Hi Preet,
We had a 200+ (now 700+) target install in a major Telco and at that time
the repository database size was just 25 GB. So 10 GB for the database
itself should be ok. However sounds like you are crunched for space.
Bear in mind you need space for the installation of the EM10g OMS home,
the Agent Home and the Database home. So I dont think 12 GB is enough
for you. Try it out in test.

    Porus.

  • Database Grid Control 10g and Oracle 8i v.3....

    Hi ,
Is it possible for Database Grid Control 10g to administer and monitor the Oracle 8i v.3, namely Oracle 8.1.7. database ...?????
    Many thanks ,
    Simon

Yes, that is possible. We are using OMS 10.2.0.2, Agents 10.2.0.2 to monitor 8.1.7.4 Databases.
    Also check MetaLink Notes:
377462.1 - ORA-00942 When Trying To View Tablespaces For An 8.1.7.4 Database
373394.1 - Receiving ORA-1031 When Gathering Metrics Against 8.1.7.4 Database From Grid Control 10.2

    Martin

  • Install grid control 10g Server 2003

    Hello all;
I have installed Oracle Grid control 10G on my PC ( server 2003 ) , the installation continued until I found it is paused on OMS Configuration and gave me the following message :
    Configuration assistant "OMS Configuration" failed
The "C:\grid_conrol_home\agent10g\cfgtoollogs\configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    I looked at "C:\grid_conrol_home\agent10g\cfgtoollogs\configToolFailedCommands" file and I found :
    oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn
    the file OMS_HOST/sysman/logs/emoms.log

    please you ca help me...

Check if the last post in http://cn.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=477659&tstart=0&start=15 can be the solution for you. Remember, the error is in the last step of the configuration process. So it only concerns the agent. The OMS and OMR were (as I see it) correctly configured.

  • Is not there grid control 10g for windows 64bits... ?

    Hi
I checked the softwares in Oracle.com and I do not find the grid control 10g for windows 64bits...... only for 32bits.
Can I use the software of 32 bits in the 64bits OS ?
I downloaded the 32bits software and I tried to install it but the OUI dissapear suddently....
    Thanks

Surprising but I think you are correct, there is no 64 bit Windows release available for EM(Grid Console), neither on OTN nor on Edelivery. In a general speak, yes 32 bit version should get installed on 64 bit.
