GridControl Woes

Question

I have a NavigationBar attached to a GridControl that allows
rows to be inserted or deleted from the underlying RowSetInfo.
This RowSetInfo is the detail on a Master-Detail infobus
architecture.
I am trying to add a row to this detail RowSetInfo by clicking
on the '+' in the NavigatorBar. When I click, no blank row is
created for me, nothing at all seems to happen.
When I perform this action, the form is blank. No data has been
queried by the master, detail, whatever... So there is no link
established in the Master-Detail form.
Peculularly, If I attempt a query prior to attempting to add the
row, it succeeds, even if the query retrieved no data. Which
leads me to believe that some internal flag must be set prior to
being able to add the rows.
Is there some method or flag I need to invoke in order to say,
'let me enter masterless rows'? Any help is greatly appreciated.

YES. It's only possible to browse within the 2000 lines.
I think the following parameter is the problem:
Maximum Number of Rows
Attribute      Description
Parameter Name "oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.TableRender.maxNumberOfRowsAllowed"
Required No
Default Value "2000"
Valid Values Any scalar numeric value.
Summary Set the maximum number of rows retrieved for display in the table.
But i can't modify this parameter within GridControl ...
