Griffin Air Click USB system requirements

If you're thinking of getting this product, make sure you have OSX 10.3.x or later!
IT DOES NOT WORK on OSX 10.2.x
Is anyone using this (to control iTunes remotely)?
How is it?

I purchased the Air Click USB and it works great, except I have to unplug the receiver from the USB port and plug it back in for it to be recognized by my Mac Mini. If I try and use the remote control right after booting up, nothing happens. The red light comes on on the receiver when I click any of the buttons on the remote so the signal is being received by the receiver, but nothing works. iTunes is selected in the Air Click control panel and I have the latest version of the Griffin software. I am running a fully updated version of Tiger.
After I unplug the receiver from the USB port and plug it back in, voila, I am good to go, everything works great. It is really annoying to have to do this for a product that should simply be plug and play every time. Any ideas as to what I can do to rectify this situation?

  • AIR 1.0 System Requirements

I have the AIR beta 3 installed and running fine on an old G3
iMac. 1.0 installer fails, presumably because the system
    requirements have increased.
I REALLY would like to get AIR running permanently on the G3.
I don't care how crappy it runs, I jsut want it running. I find it
odd that the system requirements have increased since the 3.0 beta.
Is there anything I can change in the installer package to
"trick" the installer into completing the installation process on
    the G3.

I may have messed things up by accidentally attempting to
install 1.0 on top of the 3.0 beta. Subsequently, I unistalled the
3.0 beta, but the 1.0 installer still crashes. A portion of the
crash log is listed below. This text box won't accept the entire

  • Does my MAC Air meet the system requirements for Creative Cloud

My 11-inch MacBook Air, purchased 8/22/13, has the following configuration:
1/3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 2.6GHz
    8GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM
    128GB Flash Storage
I will be using Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and InDesign

Yes, I've been perusing this page and have spoken with tech support at Apple who referred me to Adobe.
Adobe lists a multi-core Intel processor. I have a Dual-Core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 2.6GHz. Is a Dual-Core the same as a Multicore?
    Multicore Intel processor
    Mac OS X v10.7.5, v10.8, or v10.9
    2 GB of RAM
1 GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
    1280 x 1024 display with 16-bit video card
QuickTime 7.6.6 software required for HTML5 media playback

  • Questions about System Requirements for Adobe Air programs

Earlier today I asked someone who runs Tweetdeck if they knew what the system requirements were for running Tweetdeck on my desktop (Windows)
they gave me a link here: http://www.adobe.com/products/air/systemreqs/
    and I found this:
    Windows
    2.33GHz Intel® Pentium® 4, AMD Athlon® 64 2800+, or faster processor
Microsoft® Windows® XP Home, Professional, or Tablet PC Edition with  Service Pack 3; Windows Server® 2003 or 2008; Windows Vista® Home  Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise (including 64-bit editions)  with Service Pack 2; or Windows 7
    512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
    Here are my computer statistics:
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Basic (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_ldr.101014-0432)
               Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
    System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC
                   BIOS: PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
              Processor: AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-65 (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
                 Memory: 2814MB RAM
Page File: 1858MB used, 3993MB available
            Windows Dir: C:\Windows
        DirectX Version: DirectX 10
    DX Setup Parameters: Not found
         DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode
Will me only having a 2.1GHz processor really affect how my performance is with Adobe Air products/apps in general?

Yes- I've had some lower price pc's using an Adobe AIR app and can tell the difference.
Computers where performance was a huge issue was Compaq CQ56 & Toshiba Satellite C655D
These computers are under 2.0 GHz and the app seems to freeze up on occassion or run slower.

  • What are the System Requirements for Web Server hosting Adobe Air application

Working on a project that is using Adobe Air . The Adobe support site has system requirements for the client side application, but for the server side, what are the system requirements?
Using a Windows server, would expect to have approx. 100 concurrent connections at any given time.

Adobe AIR applications are installed on the end user's computer. They are not hosted on a web server. You can deploy an AIR file, which is the installer file for an AIR application, via your web server.

  • System Report USB Current Required

Under Mavericks, The System Report for USB Current Required (mA): for a WD external drive was listed as 248. Under Yosemite 10.10.1, this same parameter is listed as 896 for the same drive (curiously a factor of 4 increase). Which of these values is correct? if the 896 mA value is correct, then the WD drive is coming dangerously close to the 900mA max for a USB 3.0 port.

Chattphotos, thanks for the quick reply. The drive is a Western Digital 1 TB My Passport for Mac. You are probably right not to worry about it. However, it does concern me that the same drive under Mavericks was reporting 248 mA (which seems correct to me) and under Yosemite it is now reporting 896 mA which seems too high. I think the two versions of the OS should at least be consistent in reporting this parameter. It is hard to get WD to state the current requirements for this drive.

Why does it require so much resources? It appears to be a

complain about the resources consumed by the flash player and even
DreamWeaver! Is it that your applications are not properly
optimized for speed and resource usage?
It's scary to think what would happen to a computer that's
running 10 or more AIR apps on the desktop. Would we need to get a
Super Computer to run these applications?
PS. I just want my AIR apps to bring out the best in
    performance and resource optimizations.

  • Buying an External DVD Burner, but system requirement says Windows

I am thinking about buying an LaCie DVD Burner, but the problem is that the system requirement calls for Windows.
However, since Macs are all plug in play, will it work by just plugging it in, and then running the copy of Toast I already own?

Have you considered getting one of their FireWire versions? I know they're pricier, but they fully support them working with OSX.
Here's a review from an Amazon.com of their USB-only desktop drive where the author claims it works fine with OSX and a Core Duo MacBook as well as a MacBook Air. It seems a bit strange since it talks about bus power when I thought it only operated off of external power.

  • Why won't Maverick Install.  Meet all system requirements.

So, my 2009 MacBook Pro is running 10.7.5 (Lion), and meets the system requirements having 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM and the memory required.  It has an 2.33 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor.
When I click "install" in the App Store it states, "OS X Mavericks cannot be installed on this computer," with "We could not complete your purchase," above.  When I click "learn more," it sends me to the system requirements page, thus why I explained my setup.  I verified and checked the stuff in Disk Utility and there were no issues.
I just got an iPhone 6 Plus and with running the newest iOS 8 it requires one to have Maverick or Yosemite, eventually, installed to access iCloud Drive, so I'd like to complete the update to my OSX.  Any ideas?

Installer reports "OS X could not be installed on your computer" or "This disk cannot be used to start up your computer"
    I would do this first:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

  • What are the minimum system requirements for GB 4?

What are the minimum system requirements for GB 4? I did search this forum but wasn't able to find a direct answer.
I'm running version 3.0.4 successfully on a lowly G4 733 but I suspect this is as far as I can go.
I'm updating to iDvd'08 and was also wondering if I can safely update to GB4 or not (from GB 3.0.7) on a G4 733 mhz Digital Audio. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. My guess is that I cannot but I'd like to confirm prior to attempting any further updates in GB.

I try my best to play it safely; always. And you were right, everything worked on the ext. FW HD flawlessly ...... truly amazing software!
(I did happen to check the activity Monitor w/in Utilities and it showed GB4 using about 60-67% of the CPU on a G4 733 ..... I'm assuming this is normal).
Not sure if there's a correct order to opening these apps as there has been in former versions of iLife ..... however, this (as shown above) is the order in which I opened all apps, and all worked well.

Whoa! He may NOT be able to run Lion 10.7. Only the last of the 2006 iMacs can run Lion due to processor limitations. Lion requires a minimum Core 2 Duo processor. Only the iMAcs that Apple names "Late 2006" have that processor. Here's how to find out:
    1) From your Apple menu, do "About this Mac".
    2) Look at the "Processor information" in the resulting window.
    3) The processor Information must read "Core 2 Duo," not "Core Duo" to run Lion.
If you wish further verification, click on "More Info" in the "About" window. That launches System Profiler; its opening screen looks like this (example taken from a notebook but the info is in the same places):
To run Lion, the Model Identifier must have the code 'iMac5,1" or higher number to run Lion.
While there, see how much RAM is installed. Even if the processor is Lion-capable, a lot of older iMacs have very little RAM by today's standards. 2GB RAM is the bare minimum for Lion. The Late 2006 iMac can use up to 3GB RAM, still dicey.
