i have just got a 3G iphone (which is awesome btw )
and i also have a griffin itrip, which when i plug it in, i also get the incompatible warning, but it works and plays fine!
will this damage or hurt my iphone in any way please?

I went to the itunes store and searched for an app and could not find one. Can anyone tell me the app I need and where to get it for this itrip auto pilot made by Griffin? It is supposedd to enable my iphone and ipod to play on my FM radio in my car.

You should go to the web site for the iTrip product and see what app it is, I'll bet there's a link there that will take you right to the app. Don't worry, as you get more stuff it'll be easier to figure it all out, eventually it'll be plain old common sense that solves these types of issues for you

Griffin iTrip Auto not charging iPhone

I have an iTrip auto which worked perfectly with my 1st gen iPhone ( http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itripauto07 ). It did give me the "not designed, interference , do you want plane mode on" message but worked fine.
I was very surprised when i plugged in my new 3GS that it worked as a transmitter but i got a new error message - It couldn't charge my phone...
This is killing me - no car charger for my phone...
I realise that most of these say they are made for ipod and not the iphone but are there any that work with the 3GS?
Any other charging problems?

Things made more recently should work. The original iPhone allowed two charging methods (via USB pins or Firewire pins)--the 3G and 3GS only allow charging via the USB pins. This tripped up a lot of older car chargers when the 3G came out (and some speaker decks, I think). By now, I expect manufacturers have all switched over.
Also, the two-piece type of car charger that uses a USB cable plugged into a USB port in the cigarette lighter thing should work fine, even older ones.

IPod + iPod Dock + Griffin iTrip Auto = No Sound

I am trying to set my car up so that the iPod sits in its dock and the music comes out of the stereo via the iTrip auto, however when the iTrip auto is plugged into the iPod Dock no sound comes out of the stereo, but when the iTrip auto is plugged directly into the iPod it works fine. I see no reason as to why this doesnt work, any ideas would be great.

Hi, This is unrelated to the topic, (kind of) but I just bought the iTrip auto for my ipod photo and everytime I would plug it in to my car, I couldn't hear anything because my ipod would think that I am impoting photos into the iPod It would say no card inserted. I would just ignore it and continue playing my music but a minute later and the song would stop again. Is there something wrong with my iPod, and is there anything I can do to fix it?

Iphone cannot work after plugged into griffin itrip auto

My iphone was working up until 12:30, when i plugged it in to a Griffin itripauto. Now it is permanently off and i cannot use it at all.

Just a guess here, as I've read about this problem before, with no apparent solution. The new iphones with voice control now come with headphones with a built in mic. Could be that with the software update, when you plug the phone into the aux port the software is telling the phone that headphones with built in mic are attached, thus your mute problem since you're not using headphones. My only suggestion is to google for an adapter that has a built in mic.
You could also try a reset, reset all settings-you'll have to re-enter passwords for wifi & settings.
Also check & see if there is a speck of dirt in the headphone jack. Doesn't take much, use low pressure air or putting your headphones in & out a few times.

That will likely be because your old iTrip was made before the iPhone existed, and compatibility is not guaranteed.

If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

Stinking up the iPhone: auto-start and/or auto-stop iTunes playback

The feature to auto-start and/or auto-stop iTunes playback is a disaster. A good idea poorly implemented perhaps, or maybe not possible to implement well. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us a setting to turn this off! MANY MANY ENTRIES ACROSS MANY FORUMS! (e.g. Apple Discussions messageID=9937311) I will consider switching to another smartphone for this reason alone, it's that big a nuisance.

I sync my iphone ios 4 to another iphone ios5, sync was completed but after a few secs, the iphone with the IOS 5 firmware will auto restart and freezes at the home screen which I can't unlock. It will then freeze for a few secs before repeating the restart phase again and again and again.
To solve this issue, I have to hold the "home" + "off" button to restart the phone. Afterwhich, it will restart the phone. However, although my stuff are still on the phone, all my sms are gone.
Can someone please assist urgently.
My data was transferred from another iphone 3GS which is running an IOS 4.0.1 to another 3GS running ios 5.0.1

No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.

None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

ITrip auto and my nano

Well, I just got an iTrip auto, the iTrips that plug into your cigarette lighter and charge your battery while transmitting, and I found a clear station, and my cigarette lighter is getting my iTrip to charge my nano but I hear NO music coming from my station, it is just silence, so i know the iTrip works partially, but does this mean that there is something wrong with my ipod? What should I do?!
