Groundhog day update

Hi,
I recently updated to OS 4.6.1.310 (the most recent available for my carrier). The update was successfull but now everytime I connect the bb to the pc Desktop Manager finds updates for the phone. I let it do the update but after a few seconds of checking no software update is found/needed.
Anyone had this happening?

I'm having the same issue with 4 (so far) of my apps. I updated 1 of them via my iPhone and it still said I had an update to install. Then I had 3 more updates but I did those via iTunes on my computer. On my computer iTunes it still says I have 1 update to install (which I've already done) and on my iPhone app store it says I've got 4 updates waiting to be installed (again, which are already done).
Glad it's not just me having the Groundhog Day feeling!
Unfortunatly for me henley_regatta, it's been days rather than hours and it still hasn't fixed itself for me yet! You might have to pass on some of your patience lessions for me.. when I comes to tech problems, I'm not the patient type haha..

  • O2 Application - Update - Groundhog Day

    Anyone else seen this?
I have the O2 application installed.
Today I see there's an update, I launch App Store on the phone, select Update. Application downloads and installs. I launch it, it works.
But "App Store" still tells me the App is available for Update.
I repeat the process through iTunes - Applications, Check for Updates, 1 is available, select for download, it downloads.... But iTunes still lists it as available for update.
I've even tried completely deleting the App from both iTunes and the iPhone, syncing, then re-downloading it. Immediately after download it tells me there's an update available for it!
I don't get it. Anyone got any ideas?

  • Desktop stuck in GroundHog Day time warp

After installing Adobe Photoshop CS2, the Desktop redraws every 70 to 85 seconds and reverts to same original state with Finder pulled to top display level.
I have tried deleting PS CS2 and re-installing -- no change. I've tried re-installing OS X Upgrade Combo 10.4.11 ---no change. I don't know what to do except an archive and re-install OS X 10.4 and then apply the Combo upgrade again. Does anyone know what is causing this Groundhog Day time warp? Is there some easy way to fix it?
I read the topic on "Folders automatically closing" and tried Drew Reese's suggestion to turn off Suffit AVR and that did the trick. Apparently, I did the PS install right after updating QuickTime.
Thanks, I've had this headache for almost two weeks.

No Problem, someone else fixed it, I'm just connecting the dots

Just to add a couple of more things that you can try ... Along with what TMM suggested ....
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
You can also try updating from the app description page rather than the Updates Tab. Do a search for the apps that needs to be updated - when it appears in the search - tap on the app icon. Then tap on Update or Install - whatever happens to appear next to the app icon - in the description page that pops up.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.

  • Groundhog Day for app updates?

I apologise for not knowing hoe to word my issue as a question - but my issue is and has been for the last month or so that Creative Cloud says i have 10 updates - and i do the relevant ones, works fine, reboot next day - i have 10 apps to update once again.
You can see by my screengrab - the updates 'seem ' to be successful - but every time i reboot - it asks again.
    Thanks,

I had the same problem, until the update that was released today. that problem seems to have been fixed. I also had a bug in App World if I clicked on the link to sort the App by Free or Paid, Clicking free displayed no apps when there were some and the Paid showed free and paid. That issue was resolved as well.

  • OTN Developer Day update disk?

I went to one of the earlier OTN Developer Days held in Denver - which was really great. At that time, JDev 11g had just been released, but the materials would only work with one of the technical previews. Is it possible to download updated disk images as they are updated to the latest JDeveloper releases?
    Thanks, Ken

You don't need a disk image - all you need is JDeveloper 11g production that you can get from OTN.
    And then follow these tutorials:

    More Tutorials are here:

The new OTN Developer Days have a new set of tutorials in them which is still not on OTN.

  • So I have a gen2 8gig iPod touch and just the other day updated to 4.3 and now my pod wont show up in iTunes. Is it not compatible? Does this mean I can no longer sync my iPod??

I can no longer sync my iPod as it does not show up in my iTunes anymore, is this because I upgraded my Itunes??

You should still be able to sync you iPod.  Your iPod just can be updated past iOS 4.2.1.
Assuming you have a PC, start her to get your computer to see the iPod.

  • FileOpen Plug-in for Adobe Acrobat/Reader doesn't install!  It's like Groundhog Day!

I recently downloaded Adobe Reader (first 9, then 8) because I am trying to be able to open a PDF from a Chinese newspaper archive website.  When I click on the PDF files, the white "Adobe Updater" thing opens and it says "Some components needed to complete this operation are missing but information about them may be available on the Adobe website.  Would you like to search the Adobe website for the missing components?"  Then I click OK, and it takes me to this place on the Adobe website that automatically takes me to plugin.fileopen.com and installs whatever it is that I need (it also gives me the option to download whatever the plugin is, and then install it separately).  It says "Please use the FileOpen installer below to ensure that the FileOpen plug-in is installed correctly . . . "  I've tried both the installation suggested through a few easy clicks, and also the "alternative" installation wherein I download the plug-in to my desktop and then install it.  BUT, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I DO THIS, AFTER I CLOSE THE BROWSER AND TRY TO OPEN THE PDF AGAIN, THE WHITE "ADOBE UPDATER" THING OPENS AND THE WHOLE PROCESS STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN!  Somehow the computer doesn't realize that it's getting the plug-in installed and it keeps on asking for it over and over again.  I've tried everything, like closing the browser, making sure all Adobe programs are closed, restarting, etc.  I've done it about 20 times now.  Why isn't it working?  Help?

when i tried to open a file, acrobat itself displays a message that needs to connect to internet. appear a window with the plug in. I tried to install automatically and happend what the first post says.
then i tried to install manually, and i get a message that says "A network error ocurred while attempting to read from the file. C:/.../FileOpenInstaller.msi"
i downloaded again and i get the same error

  • HT4623 my iphone 5 was just updated with iOS 6, phone days update is completed but will not recognize my wifi admin password so I can not use the phone at all

My Iphone 5 says my iOS 6 was successfully updated but I can not get the next step complete as it will not recognize my wifi admin password and am unable to use the phone at all HELP Suggestions??

Enter the correct passcode to access the Wi-Fi, it is NOT the admin password for the Wi-Fi.
Or, simply plug the device into the computer and restore it from the backup there.

  • Groundhog Day in my ical

My ical repeats events even after I have deleted them. It restores events that have been deleted and then puts several identical entries on the calendar. For example, I put in an anniversary and then asked for it to be repeated each year. Now I when I delete the event and delete all future events, it does go away for several days or even weeks. Then when I have to verify my disc or the permissions or something similar requiring a restart, I look at the calendar and all of the deleted events are returned and then repeated many times on the same day.
This is bizarre behavior and I can not stop it. It is making my calendar unusable.
    Help.
    Thanks,
    Dale

Hmmm... Have you double checked the address book on you Mac just to confirm they're not there? Are you subscibed to any calendars that might contain these? Is there any chance they're being pulled from an Exchange server?

  • Feels like groundhog day

After updating to IOS 6, when I get in the car and start out, itunes seems to start on the same song everytime.     I have 600+ songs, always play 'random'.   right now, it's re-starting T-46.    When it's done this in the recent past, I've been able to skip forward and not have it do this.  I tried skipping up to T-55, now see if that one takes or if it goes back to T-46.   The playlist between T-46 is random, but it's the same random songs each time.  huh?   It doesn't play an album, but a random song, but always the same ones.
Bluetooth connection to car audio seems to work as before.

First quit iTunes. Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal.
Then reboot your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Safari is "stuck" - groundhog day?

Using a Brand New Mac Book Air with OS 10.8.4 installed.  Among the numerous problems the operating system seems to be stuck on a certain date.  Upon reboot it opens the files I was using on a particular day (yes, the login options are cleared and boxes checked), Safari only records history from the first 2 days I had the machine and Chrome does not work relaibly at all - same for skydrive and Google Drive.  All very very frustrating.
Any suggestions besides waiting for a OS 10.8.4 patch?

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line on this page to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Safari 5.1 - shades of Groundhog day

Safari 5.1 - everytime I make  change to my bookmarks (add or delete) it only lasts as long as that one session.  If I restart Safari, everything is back to the way it was before.  I have trashed prefs, and even reinstalled the system, but it has not helped.  What can I do?  Has Safari suddenly gained the ablity to reincarnate?

Not your file, Mculmore, but my file on my computer.  I originally posted the query and was actually directing my comments to Linc Davis.  You did what Linc suggested, but your posting was not my file with the original problem.  It may have a similar problem, true. Instead of just opening the info page and looking at it,  I looked at more than just the screen dump.  I looked at the file itself in situ, and its creation and modification dates to arrive at my conclusions.  When I trashed my file, I did NOT restore from a TM backup, because that would have simply reinstalled the corrupt file.  I allowed Safari to create a new file with no bookmarks.  Then I imported another bookmark file from a similar computer -- one whose bookmark.plist file had all my desired bookmarks, and was not corrupt.  Do you understand?

  • Weird "Groundhog Day" issue.

Every time I open iTunes, all my account settings are reset, and I have to log back in manually constantly, no matter how many times I check the "remember password" box. All my warning dialog box options (ie: the "dont ask me this again" check box things) are constantly reset.
About once a week when I open iTunes, it walks me through setup as if I just installed it, asking how i want iTunes to manage my music and all that. It searches for all music on my computer, processes artwork etc as if I just added all my songs. At this point all my iTunes preferences (sound check, import settings, etc) are all completely reset.
As far as I am aware, (so far) none of my music files themselves have ever been affected by this bug, but the options being reset is quite annoying, especially since i prefer itunes to copy music to the music folder, but this option resets itself as well. Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, what could be the cause, and if there is a solution?

    All excellent ideas, K.
I think I've come across another possible recovery technique (not as good as a backup, but it might be of some help to the poor folks who get into lost-.itl trouble without a backup).
So long as shadow copies are enabled on the Vista machine in question, it should be possible to get an .itl back using the "previous versions" interface (or ShadowExplorer if the people have one of the Home versions of Vista). I just used that today to get back a Safari bookmarks plist that had vanished for someone:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2640564
... I don't see why the same sort of trick can't work for a blanked .itl.
(I'm not sure why I haven't thought of this before ... I'd known about shadow copies and previous versions for a while, but it just hadn't occurred to me to exploit them in this sort of context.)
