Group a word in a text block with an object outside the text block?

As I work at a publishing house, I mostly work with long texts. Often, objects that mark something in the text, for example to mark that this word is in the dictionary. But as soon as I format the text and the word moves up or down, the dictionary marking has to be moved manually. This is often a source of error.
What if you could lock an object to a certain word in textblock, and as the word moves, the object follows within the structured assigned. To link an object to follow a word. Like grouping to objects, but grouping a certain word in a text block and an object outside the textblock.
What do you think?

I know what you mean
Here's how you do it - If I've understood you correctly
You need to place the object after or before the word, depending, and change the an X Relative to: Anchor Marker
You can see when you go to View Text Threads and have the anchored objected selected it shows you where the anchor is linked to. In this case it's linked to where it's anchored, instead of the page edge, or frame edge etc.

Can an email address be a member of an LDAP group even if it isn't

    <P>
General members of a group are the members defined in the
Directory Server. They are full-fledged members of the group who
may have a set of permissions associated with their membership,
a title, or other attributes. Mail-specific users are users who
are not full-fledged members of the group, but who receive mail
sent to the group. Mail-specific users need not be identified as
a user in the Directory Server--an email address is sufficient.
An example of this is a group of salespeople, all of whom are in
the group "North American Sales Team." They have access to a
sales-tracking database, on-line quota information, and
competitive information. The mail-specific users of this group
are the admins who support the members of the sales team, who need
to get the mail that goes out to the group, but don't need access
to the applications and information that the salespeople do.

I would suggest performing this workaround and then try to login to BlackBerry Link:

  • Office 2013 - Word cannot establish a connection with this document after the system resumed from suspend mode

    Hiya!
This issue has been answered numerous times for Office 2010 and Office 2007, but I have yet to any solutions or Hotfixes that work for Office 2013 (x64) on Win7.
    How to replicate the issue:
Open a file from a network share.
    Edit file.
Leave computer on with file open. Computer goes to sleep or into stand-by mode.
    Wait a bit
    Wake up computer
CPU opens file in Read-Only mode and gives you the following error "Word cannot establish a network connection with this document after the system resumed from suspend mode. Save the document into a different file to keep any changes."
    What I've tried:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2434898 - Office 2007 registry fixes. Does not apply.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2413659 - Office 2010 problem. This exact issue. Says 'No microsoft products that match this hotfix are installed'
    Work Around:
I can saving new versions of these files overrides this issue, but this is sometimes not possible for end-users who only have specific access to ONE SPECIFIC FILE in a particular network share.
Please let me know how I can alleviate this issue!
    Thanks

  • Mobile Broadband with Gobi 2000 outside the US

    Hi all,
Just got my X201 with a Gobi 2000 card inside. Since I live outside the US I was never really sure how it would work outside the AT&T and Verizon networks. Even after I received the Thinkpad it was not very easy to find information about how to set it up, so I thought I would post it here - I am sure someone is looking for it...
This is what I got: X201, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
First of all you are wondering where to put the SIM card. Take the Thinkpad battery out, and you will find the slot of the SIM. The cut off corner on the SIM should stick into the slot.
Next, you can use the Lenovo "Access Connections" software to make the connectivity, also outside the US. This is the same software as you use to to manage your Wifi - the one that shows Wifi signal strength in the Windows task bar.
(Note it should also be possible to use the Microsoft Dialup software, the the APN needs to be entered directly into the modem using "+cgdcont=1" - google that if you want to try.)
    Back to Access Connections.
For someone new to Thinkpad, you may start with the Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox. That is the blue button on the keyboard, and the blue toolbox icon in the task bar. After you have done all your Lenovo and Microsoft updates here, you will notice an exclamation mark under "Security & Networking", "3G Mobile Broadband". It will essentially tell you: "A Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) card is installed in your system. Please run Lenovo Broadband Connect to activate your card."
This is somewhat confusing, particularly in the GSM world. What is it will do is not activating your Gobi 2000 card, but activate a subscription with a carrier in the US. Either an AT&T subscription, with an AT&T SIM and GSM/HSDPA, or a Verizon subscription with EVDO (which does not use a SIM). If you have put your European SIM in the Thinkpad this will lead you nowhere.
Just click "Ignore Issues" to get rid of the exclamation card.
Go back to Access Connections - just click on the Wifi signal in the task bar.
For the record, I am running version 5.61 of Access Connections. There is also 5.62 available for download, but it only seems to be adding Sprint settings, which we do not need outside the US.
Now, in Access Connections click on the "Location Profiles" tab, and up to the right do "Switch to: Advanced".
Now "Create...", so you can enter settings for your mobile network.
Give it a name, and as type of network choose Mobile Broadband.
Choose the Gobi 2000 hardware, and click next.
Next screen you will change the technology used from EVDO to HSDPA/GPRS, and finally get some life in the hardware.
Under Select WAN Settings you may choose to go Automatic, or Custom. I believe the Automatic covers about 30 non US networks, mainly European, but if your network is not covered, go Custom, and click Edit Settings.
Now you an choose settings from one of the 30 or so networks in the drop-down list, or just enter them by hand.
For the record, you just need the APN, the Username and the Password. There are the same settings you typically enter into your phone for GPRS connectivity, and they are probably available on your providers website. You will probably want to change your Authentication Option from PAP to NONE, depending on what your provider's instruction says.
For the record, for MTN Cyprus these are "internet", "wap" and "wap".
Click Next, and although the next page looks messy there is not really anything to change - just click Finish.
OK, we are done. Now you can test your connection, either by choosing that as a Location and clicking Connect, or by using the Mobile Broadband radio button and the Connect button.
You should now be able to use Access Connections as a single point to switch between Wifi and HSPA, and have no annoying exclamation marks from the Lenovo ThinkVantage - also outside the US.

Perhaps that is all you needed, but there are definitely 3G ISPs in the world that will need somewhat more than that.
There are also 3G ISPs that check the IMEI of devices and will only connect devices thay have sold.
3G services globally are only semi-standadised, at best, in terms of what is needed to establish a connection and it it is quite important to pay close attention to all the information provided by the particular ISP that a connection is attempting to be established with.

  • Can Packagemaker create installer with content files outside the bundle?

I'm trying to create an installer with Packagemaker, but the content files need to be outside the final bundle because they're shared with a Windows installer.
I thought I could create a symbolic link to the external folder, but instead of linking from the installer, it copied the files into the bundle. Any idea how to do this, or if it's even possible? I need to be able to do this on 10.3+, if that's relevant.
(I can give a more specific scenario if this isn't clear enough)
    Thanks!

    zekel wrote:
The main issue I'd be worried about is that the external files (which are quite large) won't have the appropriate progress bar. The external files are around 1GB, while the internal files are in the 30MB range.
How about installing a secondary installer with progress bar that copies these files from the correct location. Your postflight script can just kick off the newly installed file copier.
How's this sound for a hack...
Have a launcher script copy the installer to /tmp, then modify the package to point my files. (I'm installing from read-only media.) It would then open the modified installer which would pull my files from the DVD. This would probably work better (read: at all) if the files aren't compressed inside the package. Do you know if that's an option?
No, sorry. The internals of a package are quite specific. You need PackageMaker itself to build them.
Things like the receipts are non-essential at this point, only because if I can't get this to work then we will continue to use our terrible installer which leaves none of those things. Those shouldn't be too much trouble if I can get the rest to work.
There are some 3rd party installers like Installer VISE. The sad part is that they tend to make the MacOS X Installer look good.
If the guy responsible for that is interested I'll show him Inno Setup, but we have a working Windows installer, so he probably won't want to mess with it.
I agree, but tell him about it anyway. The next time you have to build a Windows installer, he could use Inno Setup and get it done in a couple of hours and then have time to help with the mess that is software deployment on MacOS X.

  • How to use data sets with smart objects?

    Hi,
I have a psd of some mock-up boxes, and I want to apply different text to multiple versions. The solution here: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/creating-data-driven-graphics.html is good, but doesn't seem to work with smart objects?
The file that I have has the box label as a smart object (which opens as a psb). How could I apply a data set to that, and have it pump out multiple jpegs?
If I apply the data set to the psb layers, then go back to the main image, I cannot export the whole complete picture anymore.
    Thanks!

What database and connection type are you using? Are you connecting the report directly to the database, or trying to assign the datasource to object data?
It sounds like you might be trying to use a linked list, collection or other C# construct to pass your data in. This currently isn't supported by the Crystal Reports SDK. You can use a DataSet or a DataTable, and possibly also an IDataReader depending on which version of Crystal Reports you're referencing in your project. Of course you can also connect directly to the database, even if the database isn't on the same machine as the application.
The way to show master records with detail information is through the use of subreports and linked subreport parameters. Linked subreports take their parameter value from a record in the main report, so that only the data appropriate to that master record is displayed. The guys over in the [report design|SAP Crystal Reports; forum can help you out with this if you have questions on the specifics.

  • Where to put logic with Transfer Objects?

I'm playing with Transfer Objects for the first time, and have got this one class I'm not sure how to design the Transfer Object for. The problem is that I have some logic that is needed by both the domain model and by the client.
The class is named Moment. It's basically a wrapper around the java.util.Calendar class because I don't like passing objects of that type around in my code. That Calendar class is just to complicated to expose everywhere.
So, an easy example is that internally, Moment stores time in millitary time. I need a method that will take an hour, a minute, and AM or PM and convert it to millitary time for storing internally in the Moment.
Before Transfer Objects, this was easy enough of a decision. Moment had several factory methods called makeMoment. One of these took three arguments: hour, minute, and AM or PM. And, it internally converted to millitary time and stored the time in the Moment. However, now that the client is operating on Transfer Objects and not Domain Objects, if I put that method on Moment in the domain model, it won't be available to the client. If the client takes user input in AM/PM format from the user, it would have to duplicate logic already implemented in the model.
    Options I think I have:
1.) Put the conversion method in MomentTO, maybe make it static. Then, my Moment class calls this method on MomentTO to do the coversion. This would work, but it seems funny to have the domain model calling business logic inside the Transfer objects.
A variation of this solution is just whenever my domain model wants to create a Moment, have it first create a MomentTO via a factory method that could do the coversion, and pass the MomentTO to a Moment constructor. This seems even funnier though to have the domain model creating Transfer Objects for internal use. It just seems to me that the point of Transfer Objects is to export information about the domain model to the client, leaving a lot of the specifics behind. Not something that the domain model uses for processing internally.
I could put the conversion method on the MomentTO and just say anybody who wants to create a Moment using anything but millitary time is going to come from the client that will be using Transfer Objects. Nobody else will be creating moments using anything but straight millitary time. But, this approach seems inflexible.
2.) Make a separate library / package that is available to both the domain model and the client. The inital reason I don't like this solution include the fact that I don't need much more other logic to be shared like this, so this package would be really, really small.
Any suggestions? Just can't seem to find something that makes good sense. I do have several other things like this for this Moment class in creating a Transfer Object for it. But, it is just this one class that I'm having this problem with.

If this is for the pursuit of knowledge, then thatis
all well and good. However, if you actually wantto
do something with this application, I wouldrecommend
    the following link:
    http://xp.c2.com/YouArentGonnaNeedIt.html
    - SaishI think you missed the part in the thread where I'm
not seeing the evil of Transfer Objects. Please
explain. They really don't seem that much work to
    develop to me.
Fair enough. However, my point is that any time you develop something that 'might' be needed is time you are taking away from time developing things that 'are' needed.
One of the listed advantages of the Transfer Object
pattern in the Core J2EE Patterns is hiding
complexities of the domain model from the client.
This seems to be very handy for my application. The session facade pattern would accomplish the same effect.
. Many of the domain model objects are versioned,
but the first three iterations of development that I
want to complete before deployment need to know
nothing about the versions. With transfer objects,
this can all be safely hidden in the Application
    Service objects.
I fail to see how transfer objects themselves would not require versioning or modification. Given a large enough transfer in the domain model, it woud be difficult to insulate an associated transfer object. Granted, these changes may occur less frequently.
Plus, I'm trying to figure out how the hell Commons
Validator works with Spring. Really wish I could
find a getting started guide. What I've found so far
makes it look like it's going to be easier to
validate Transfer objects than my domain model
objects, because all the validated fields will be on
one object. Not mostly on one object with some
fields scattered about like they would be with domain
model objects...I've found good FAQ and HOW-TO documentation at Jakarta while working on several Commons projects, including Log4J and FileUpload. Validator has no such online documentation?
For Spring, I recommend the new Johnson "J2EE Development with Spring" and (I forget the author) "Spring in Action".

  • Export to WORD - what's with these boxes around the text?

I am new to CR.  I am using version 10.0.0.533  We use CR with ClearQuest for problem reporting and other data collection.
Rational (ClearQuest Vendor) tells me it's a CR X problem.
I use a CR report exported to MS WORD as a template for taking meeting minutes.  With our old CR version, the ClearQuest export was great and I was able to add text into the report.  With CR X, the report in MS WORD comes out in text boxes and editting this output is not pretty.   I do not want the boxes, I just want free flowing text as if I had written a WORD doc so I can edit it easily during the meetings.  I have tried export to text, copy, paste but I loose all of the formatting.  I have tried HTML and then copy, paste, but this is even worse than the text output.  RTF also has the text in boxes.
Someone out there MUST have run into this problem also.  Help me...

  • Opening a Word doc. as a BLOB with custom authentication

    Hi all,
I have a page that runs a PL/SQL block to download a stored BLOB and open it up as an attachment outside of Apex. I copied page 2 from the package app. "document library", which calls a "get_doc" procedure. Similar code appears in the Pro Application Express book chapter 9 page 354, to output the http header and then call wpg_docload.download_file().
Using the packaged app. that all works fine - get_doc is run and the Windows dialog box pops up to open or save the document. If I run the same page in my app. the document opens in the current webpage instead with all the special characters appearing from the blob.
I have narrowed this down to the authentication scheme. Using the Application Express authentication scheme, the open-file dialog box appears, but my application uses a custom table-based authentication scheme with a DB user_repository table (copied from the Pro Application Express book). If I switch my app. to application express authentication from custom, the blob opens fine via Windows.
The same thing happens when clicking on the "download" link next to a file browse item for an image BLOB - the current page is replaced with the URL containing apex_util.get_blob_file and I just get a screen of special characters instead of the image.
Does anyone know why my custom scheme would cause the blob to open in the webpage instead of popping up the Windows open-file dialog box? How can I debug what is happening as the page loads? I'm using 11g, Apex 3.2.1 and the embedded webserver.
    thanks in advance,
    Malcolm.

I'm using the custom session timeout functionality from Scott Spadafore:
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=18326:44:7066307651243242::::P44_ID:1562
So my session verify function is "return pkg_auth.check_timeout;".
That function updates the timeout cookie by sending a mime_header of 'text/html', I think that is the reason my download procedure which fires afterwards, which itself outputs a mime header (of the mime_type stored in the DB table I'm storing the uploaded blobs) doesn't work.
In the check_timeout function, I have put in the rather inelegant code:
    if v('APP_PAGE_ID') in (42,71) then
    return true;
    end;
42 being the page my "download" link to the image blob is on, and 71 is the page that downloads a Word blob.
This works and I now get the Windows file open dialog, but if anyone has a better idea though I'd be glad of it.
