Group as Stack Command

I love to use the "Group as Stack" keyboard shortcut for things like panorama and HDR sequences, and it has always worked fine but now it wont do anything! Selecting Stacks>Group As Stack from the application bar still works, as does right clicking and selecting stack>group as stack. However this takes alot of extra time when I am making a bunch of stacks or stacking and unstacking them to view their contents. I don't know if this helps, but evertime I try to use the keyboard shortcut, the "edit" menu in the application bar highlights for a second (as if I were trying to use a keyboard shortcut for something under the edit pulldown menu). I have reset all the preferences for Adobe Bridge and reset the keyboard shortcuts for my OS but it's still not working. Also, the "Group Layers" function in CS4 is no longer working, any ideas how these could be related?

Strange problem, that should be gone after refreshing preferences I would
think, but as you indicate that seems not the solution.
First try to use disk maintenance with Apple disk utility and choose repair
permissions.
If still not good try a purge cache for folder using the tools/cache menu.
Other option, quit Bridge, in the user library preferences folder find the
Bridge plist file ( com.adobe.bridge3.plist) and delete this manual to the
trash. Again restart Bridge with option key pressed and again choose refresh
preferences. Set preferences to your wishes and try if this works.

'Group in stack' command fails with selected photos in Lightroom 1.2

I am a Mac user (new Intel iMac running OS 10.4.11), and have successfully been able to stack photos up until this point. Now suddenly, they will not stack. I've color labelled photos in a shoot by theme, and have been stacking them. I can't see anything different in this situation.
I tried closing out LR, then restarting. Stacking still doesn't work. (Options in the Photo > Stacking menu are greyed out.)
Any suggestions?

I am not in a collection, but your question prompted me to notice that while all of the photos I am working with at the moment are from a single shoot, and therefore should be in one folder, for some reason, not all of them were showing up in the folder. I spent considerable time yesterday trying to figure out a way to locate them, and I am suspecting that I inadvertently made a mistake somewhere with keywords. I do recall seeing an unusual icon in the upper right hand corner of one of the images. When I held the cursor over it, it opened a window that told me that the metadata had been changed outside of the program (!?) and how did I want LR to handle this. I had no idea what this was referring to, how it happened, or what the implications were -- but I had to make a choice, so I chose 'overwrite'. It may be coincidental that the stacking problem started about the same time. In any case, I finally got them all back in view, and systematically went back through them making sure that each batch had the desired keywords. In the mean time -- for whatever reason -- I am once again able to operate stacking & its functions.
As you can see, I am still very much a beginner with LR, but as I go, I am loving its power and generally more intuitive feel. I am using far more than PS at this point, although I know that there will be some things I can only do in PS.

ICal Group Calendar - Line command

Does anyone know how to create a group calendar other than through the wiki interface? I would think there is a line command as well.
I have created group calendars on several osx servers in the past. I have two 10.6.4 servers that seem to have an authorization or communication issue when creating the calendar through the wiki.

Accessing the group calendar through the wiki give in in browser error:

I thought I'll debug it further by creating a group calendar by command line. Does anyone know how to do that? Or any other suggestions where to continue?

Thanks for that, Jonathan, but it appears to have a problem: you apparently can't use the Address Panel if you fill in the Account URL field, and all the attendees I fill in to events aren't "real" they have little exclams before their name, instead of check marks.
It seems that the Address Panel only works with accounts that have "Automatically discover server address" checked, and each account for which you have that checked must have a different Username -- you can't use a group name.
I suppose you could set up dummy user names so you could access the groups somehow, AND have the Address Panel working properly...
It's too bad this stuff doesn't work better. I'll bet it doesn't get better before the next "kitty" release, 18-24 months from now...

Photoshop CC 2014 hangs for nearly 15 seconds when using Layer Group Layers or Layer Palette Group from Layers commands.

Photoshop hangs for nearly 15 seconds when using Layer > Group Layers or Layer Palette > Group from Layers commands. NOT on creating new group and creating layers and drag-n-dropping layers into group manually in Layer Palette. Got a UI design file with nearly 800 layers and lot of groups. This doesn't occur in smaller files. Using OS X Mavericks, Photoshop CC 2014.2.2, Mid 2014 15-inch Retina Macbook Pro.
I understand that the solution would be just to cut the file into smaller files and design each UI view in a separate file but that would be painful. And it does not seem to be a very hard task to just group layers.

Does the document also have a lot of layer comps?
And can you post that document or send me a copy of it so we can see exactly why it is hanging?

EPM 11.1.2.1 add a MSAD user to a HSS native group via MaxL command

Hi there
I want to take over MSAD user as EPM (Essbase) user in a HSS native group via MaxL command:
This works fine as long as the user is already in at least one other group (with at least server access).
If I want to do same for a "new" user it fails.
Is there any trick to also make it work for this case?

You will probably need issue a create first for example
create or replace user 'essuser' type external;
alter user 'essuser' add to group essgroup;
or
create or replace user 'essuser@LDAPNAME' type external;
alter user 'essuser@LDAPNAME' add to group essgroup;

Bridge resizes over multiple displays after "Group as stack" or "Batch rename"

Hi all,
pls - any idea how to force Bridge to stay displayed within one monitor after e.g. "Group as stack" or "Batch rename"? When I run these functions, Brigde spreads itself over both monitors, resizes all the thumbnails to the largest size a puts itself on top of all other applications. Very annoying. Any ideas how to make it stop doing this?

Converting Crystal Date Group to SQL Command

When selecting the option to group on the server, I found that there are requirements in addition to selecting the option.
I have a date grouping in Crystal like the following:

Can this be converted to a SQL command?

CSM Sticky Group or predictor command?

Hi,
i want to ensure that my client connections are connecting to the same real server as long as it is inservice. When it goes down a second server will take this job. Question: Is it possible to reach that goal by using a parameter in the predictor or weight command, or is it solely required to configure a sticky group?

If you do not need to loadbalance i would suggest to do a vserver with one serverfarm that has one server and assign to that serverfarm a sorry/backup serverfarm with one server

There issue is seen by 2 customers, both the care tickets does not have information related to high cpu utilization because of snmp engine. Issue is fixed in 15.2(4)M throttle.

Key Command for Selecting All in Stack?

- Hi, I'm wondering if there is a key command that I missed that allows you to select all items in a stack when it is collapsed?
I'm mostly using Bridge for the Stacks feature. I actually prefer to use cataloging programs for DAM. But shooting HDR, stacks are a must!
But when I want to do things with the images in a stack, such as deleting them all, opening in Photoshop (individually or to merge), etc., it only selects the top image by default.
I must be missing something. It's a drag to have to open/close all the time.
And a separate but related issue:
- Does anyone know why all stacks are removed when you do a Batch Rename on a set of photos?
I let Photoshop churn for 30min. + on the 'combine HDR/Panorama into stacks' command. Got all my HDR sets grouped nicely as stacks. Then decided to batch rename them and presto - no more stacks! Had to do it all over again!!!

To apply a command to all photos in a collapsed stack, you must select them all by clicking the stack border, not the top image. See
Stack files in Bridge Community Help.
I'm not sure about the batch rename issue that you describe. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

Grouping stacked bars

Hi,
I would like to create a chart with several groups of stacked bars:
- each group corresponds to a given energy (wind, sun, ...)
- for each energy, I would like to show three bars (corresponding to different years): 2010, 2020 and 2050.
- for each year, I would like to indicate (in a stacked manner) the different estimations of electricity production.
Is there a way of doing so? I tried with a simple stack-chart, but the problem is that all stacks are at the same distance from each-other, whereas I would like to have the stacks for a given energy grouped together.

Insert a blank column (or row depending on how your data is organized) between categories wherever you would like a space to appear on the X-Axis.

How to create a new user and group on command line?

Hi,
I am trying to install INN, the news server on OS X.4.8 (non-server), but it requires me to create a user and group, both called 'news'.
I know this has something to do with using Netinfo to create them, but I am logged in remotely via ssh and I can't use Netinfo Manager.
How do I create new users and groups via the command line.

In our project we need to implement grouping of stacked bar graph, but with dvt graphs we are not able to achieve this.

Hi lo,
I think all you need to do is implement the code found below. What you need is instead of using the random numbers (like in my example), you would just give it the values for you bar graphs. You can then build an array where you append the values for the second color above the first color by using the add function. If you then go into the plot legend (left click and go into bar plots), you can change the presentation of the data on the graph. You will also have to change the common plots display in the legend as well (left-click and go into common plots). I hope this helps!

Command Groups issue

Hi all,
I have the following problem with Command Groups.
When I create a new Command Group or duplicatie an existing Command group I the iView I can see only the Default Command Group instead of the commands which I have assign. Even when I create a command group without any commands or when I duplicate the AppEmpty command group I see the default commands. When I change the commands of an existing command group, there is no change. When I use the existing command group there is no problem, but when I duplicate it, there are the default commands instead of the commands of the duplicated command group.
Another question. By searching, the option Similar Documents doesn't use the same collection renderer as the SearchResultLayoutSet. Can you tell me, which is the Collection Renderer of the Similar Documents.

you are doing perfectly fine what you need to do is duplicate the collection renderer and attach the commandgroup and then duplicate the layoutset and attach this collection renderer to it and apply this layoutset to iview by chaging the name of it in default layout.Hope this helps.allocate points just go through this soln i have posted earlier
