Group by Item Display on Every Page

Hello,
I have created a standard Table using the Table Wizard. Is it possible for the Group by Item to appear on every page? I am able to Repeat the Header Row on every page but not able to display the Group by Item if the data continues to multiple pages. I know this sounds simple but I have been looking at documents and online but have not had any success with this. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

This is exactly what I need, thanks alot. Can you tell me exactly what was done? I see that the I can select the Table Properties by the goup ROW by dept now and not the Item Name. I have to implement this to a few more templates and will definitely use in the future also. Looks great really.

Data not getting displayed in every page ...

Hi,
I'm facing a peculiar problem. I have a template where i want to display a certain table in every page but i can't place it in header. As far as i know it should get displayed if I select "Repeat as header row at the top of each page".
This table is under a group <?for-each@section:G_HEADERS?> ... The problem that i'm facing is the table is getting displayed in the first page but not on subsequent pages ... i even tried putting a simple table with a static text .. but its behaving simillarly .... I tried Table-> Heading rows repeat but to no avail ..
Please help me if someone has any solution ...

Do you have a single page or multiple pages?
You should be able to put a table in the header. Read up in the user guide on
<?start:body?>
<?end body?>
Which allows you define the header/foot inside the Word body.
In the 5.6.2 user guide it is on page 6-13:
Creating RTF Templates -> Defining Headers and Footer -> Multiple or Complex Headers and Footers.
In the word header you can use <??> command, but you have to spell them out and
not use form fields - becaue Microsoft Word does not allow form fields in headers.

Page Number does not display on every page

I am having a problem showing the page number on every page. I can get it to show on the first page if I place the XML tags at the top OR if I place the XML tags at the bottom then it shows only on the last page.
I tried to use the <?body-start?><?body-end?> tags and placing the page number in front of or behind these. I have tried to insert the native word page number functionality as well as <?fo:page-number?> and get the same results.
Any help would be greatly appreciated -

I have inserted the page number in the RTF and it definitely shows up on the first page but not on any of the following pages.
As a side note - if I use Word's header and put anything up there it does not show up at all on the template.

Customer line item display prints every account on a seperate page

Hello
When I print FBL5N for all the customers or group of customer, on the screen it looks good, but when I send it to the printer, the report is printed with a new page for each customer.
Is there any option to cancel this page break for every account?

It is standard behaviour that the authorization object F_KNA1_GRP(account group authroization) is not checked
in the transacion FBL5N. You can confirm this functionality in trans. SE24.
As a workaround, I would suggest you to use the authorization object F_KNA1_BED Customer: Account Authorization
If you assign an authorization group as the accouting group, perhaps you can get a similar functionality.
Please note that for the 'drill-down' or direct call of FBL5N these objects are checked:

Group Footer to be repeated on each and every page.

hi all. i designed a crystal report with a group on department. within department i have 20 records and hence the group is carry forwarding to next page and i get group footer on the last page of the group. but i want group footer to be on every page. i created an additional group with a formula which has code just pagenumber so that since page number changes on every page i will get group footer on every page but unfortunately i get error message. grouped on recurring value.
please advise how to get group footer on every page.

patrick, thanks for feedback. that solution was already implemented and was rejected by users because if a group has only one record then in the record will be displayed in details section and then users need to scroll down to page footer to see group details. there is lot of gap between details and page footer. more over there is a page break for each group. further. we have this report already done and in use sice past 10yrs in actuate 7 and we are migrating actuate reports to crystal to get rid of actuate. our users developed some application based on the report in actuate 7. now any design changes in report needs changes in actuate. hence we need group footer on everypage even if group is carryforwarded to next page.
please advise.

How to create a banner on every page

Hi,
I am creating my first website using iWeb. I have a banner that I want to display on every page of the site.
At the moment this banner is created from 1 text box and 3 images. I am currently copying and pasting this banner onto every page. This does not seem to be efficient.
I would like some advice as to how to do this efficiently, I would imagine there is some way of creating what I would call a 'header'?

Hi mrtcornel, i used your suggestion on creating content on every page using iFrame and a footer page. I am trying to have a song clip play throughout my site. anyhow, got the footer page to work and it plays when publishing, but don't think i understand how to get it to play on other pages. i copied the iFrame html snippet and placed it on another page, but nothing happens when i publish. is that what i was supposed to do?

Display a field on every page

I have created a layout using BI Publisher Layout editor (not an RTF template) and have an employee number field which is in a repeating group with other employee details. The report displays 1 employee per page and I need the employee number to appear on every page of the report on its own at the end of the page without other details. How can I achieve this?
Is there a way of making a field to appear on every page in BI Publisher but not as a header or footer? Thanks

Repeat group header on every page before group footer as group spans across

I have a group which spans across multiple pages.In group there are two subreports in Group footer.I have set all the required parameters to repeat group header on every page in group expert,but not getting desired results,please help....

I have following structure in my report.
I have two group headers at the top,first one contains name of the site & site number,second header contains Site-Admin as heading,below which i have kept details section of report which displays name of administrator which repeats details section in case there are more than one adminstrators.
Below this i have two group footers which individually contain each of the two sub-reports.
As per data,these individual subreport may or may not begin at the beginning of the new page every
time,therefore fake group header put at the beginning of these sub-reports may come in middle of the page sometime,so thet cant be done.

Page item display 32767 characters (via computation)

Running APEX 3.2.1.00.11
I am trying to generate values for a page item using a PL/SQL function body. It parses and concatenates many rows of our databases. In one case I need to return some generated javascript code to pre-load a auto-suggest class. In the other case, I need to concatenate a variable number of comment postings for a given article "to create a threaded blog view" (the number of comments could get quite large).
My problem is that APEX is maxing out at 32767 characters. When I defined my function with a VARCHAR2(32767) I got a buffer too small error. When I tried to run it using a CLOB I got a "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error string". I'm assuming this happens when it tries to exit the PL/SQL function and return control back to APEX (some type of CLOB -> VARCHAR2 conversion - but once again i'm just guessing).
I tried to verify the code works fine by running it in sql developer. When using DBMS.OUTPUT.PUT_LINE I got the same ORA-06502 error. When I replaced the return string with a "function completed" message instead, it ran fine and printed out the success message.
To validate it wasn't the contents of the string, I changed the function to put a DBMS.OUTPUT.PUT_LINE on each iteration through the result sets that builds the large concatenated string. Every line printed without issue and no errors were generated...
So, my question is...how can I generate text > 32k in size and display it to the user through APEX?
Please don't respond and say that I shouldn't be loading that much into a webpage initially and that I should be using AJAX to search through values and load them on the fly. That could work for the select list (if I can get past APEX's very particular URL parsing system) but it is not suitable for the "blog comments" functionality.

I honestly don't know enough about how APEX generates it's page items and the overall page to be able to answer your question. All that I can tell you is that its a simple "display only" page item that has a before header "Computation" on it powered by a PL/SQL function body.Sorry, I missed the "page item" and focused on the "PL/SQL". In that case you've hit a hard limit in APEX. Page items, report rows and various other things have a maximum output size of 32K.
I could do multiple page items each limited to 8k as you suggested and strategically concatenate them behind the scenes too - however this is extremely ugly. I need to consider how other people will be able to work with this code in the future.Absolutely—I really wasn't suggesting separate items as I was talking about buffering output from <tt>htp</tt> methods.
For handling large items, see the Save Large Value demo app. As you can see, this is not "out of the box".
For display-only purposes, APEX reports or dynamic PL/SQL regions are a better fit for the use cases you describe than page items.

Need to display a field for every page

Hi All.
I am trying to display a field <?job_no?> for every page of that job.
I mean if I select job no from 1 to 10. for Job number 1 the data can be printed in one page or several pages.
But i need to show this Job number( which we show with BARCODE font) in every page of that job.
This job is under G_JOB group. In general I used like below
<?for-each:G_JOB?>
<?job_no?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?end for-each?>
This is getting printed in first page only. If I put it in header, of RTF file, it is ok if I selected only one job number. But if I select for n number of jobs it is not geting displayed.

<?end for-each?>The "start:body" makes everything before that a page header.

Added @section. This will reset the header region for each job.

Blank Page with repeated group header getting displayed

Hello All,
One more help i need,
Am having a formula field in the group header for the same reprot which i have posted earlier and am displaying some text based on the condition and the option repeat group header is checked for each page.
the issue here i am having is while exporting the report to .txt (flat file)
the formula field is displaying same static data (i.e. the formula field is not evaluating while exporting to .txt)
could you please help in resolving this.

How to display subtotals in every page and the grand total in the last page

I am working with Smartforms. I am not able to print the subtotal in every page ie the Price for that particular page alone should be summed and in the final page I want the grand total also to be displayed. I tried the Total option in the Calculations tab but the value is just getting incremented on every page..How can I achieve this..

Declare two different variables for subtotal and total
Use them in the calculation tab of the table node.
After displaying the subtotal create a program lines node to clear the value of the subtotal. And dont forget to mention the condition in the condition tab of the text node of your subtotal as only before end of main window.
display the grand total in the text another text node with condition... only after end of main window.

Any instance of time being displayed through Firefox is 5 hours off (+) (IE Comcast call time logs, every page print out, etc). IE and all other browers display correctly as is all of the time settings on my computer. Please help.

Any instance of time being displayed when using Firefox show the time off by +5 hours. I am in Phila so use EST. Every other setting is correct in computer. For example time call log displayed from Comcast and every page footer shows time +5 hours. I have not found anything helpful in searching the web. I always check after each upgrade to Firefox but problem persists.

Cor-el... The issue was in the autoexec.bat file. I did have the TZ set there. Removed and all is well.

Firefox is hijacked to display the same ads on every page!!

I come to believe that Firefox is hijacked in my computer. I have been having trouble with pop-up ads some time back from a mysterious source called adnxs.com. I somehow managed to resolve it but now, the same old shit is back again. This time it shows the link as https://secure-sin.adnxs.com/. It does a worse thing than popups, it displays its ad on every page I visit, even for secure HTTPS sites!!
I tried scanning for it but my Avast Antivirus as well as Spybot S&D failed to pick it up.
I know the problem is with firefox only, because there was no issue when using Chrome. Can anyone pls shed any light?

I'll also let you know that I have done some cleaning afterwards, removed all cookies, disabled unnecessary toolbars and also ran system wide scan again. It looks like that put a stop to this malware. Though knowing how persistent this spyware/malware is I wouldn't be surprised if it shows its face again.

One of the pages I am working on is blocked and I cannot delete/change items displayed there

One of the pages I am working on is blocked and I cannot delete/change items displayed there. I have unlocked all the layers but still cannot access the content on that page. Thoughts?

I'm using version 9.2.1. on a mac
I'm helping edit some maps for the company I work for. The pages are regular A3
The map part is not blocked, but the second page with the descriptions/text will not let me make any changes to it. I cannot select anything on the page including the images.
I am trying to edit the text provided and rearrange the page layout accordingly.
I thought this was a "layer" problem, but this does not seem to be the case.
