Group call from suspicious people

I just answered a call, thinking it was my husband and quickly realized it was a group call from people I did not know. I hung up immediately, the one kept calling until I could block all four people. I changed my privacy setting to let calls in from only those I know. I changed my password and sign out and back in. I do not have any money on my skype account. I was wondering if they could have hacked my account or anything. I do not want to receive a bill that I did not make the charges for. Is there anything else I should do to ensure that I have not been hacked? One caller was from Toronto, one from Pakistan and one from Philipines and one from Texas. Suspicious, you bet.

When/if you are having privacy issues, please try this once, it will work in almost all cases:
Please right click on the Skype Icon in your system tray and change your status to "Offline" for 5 seconds and then back to "Online".

Is there any way to allow calls from certain people to ring with your phone on silent?

I would like to be able to put my phone one silent, for instance at night when I'm sleeping, but to be able to allow certain people's calls to "override" silent mode. For example, my boyfriend and family know when I go to sleep, so they wouldn't call or text in the middle of the night unless it was an emergency. Other people, however find it amusing to send random text messages in the middle of the night that wake me up. I don't want to miss an emergency call, however, so it's not as simple as just putting my phone on silent. Any ideas?

As David said; record a sound where there is no sound and make this a mp3 file and trasfer it to ur iphone and follow the steps below to make silent ringtone.
    1.    Start iTunes and find the song you want to convert. (It must be an MP3.)
    2.    Right-click the song and choose Get Info.
    3.    Click the Options tab.
    4.    Check the Start Time and Stop Time boxes, then enter times for each (no more than 30 seconds apart, the maximum length for a ringtone). I used 0:00 and 0:30, respectively, as "Spit It Out" has a perfect ascending lead-in.
    5.    Click OK, then right-click the song again and choose Create AAC Version. You should immediately see a new 30-second version of the song.
    6.    Drag that version out of iTunes and into the folder of your choice.
    7.    Delete the 30-second version from iTunes and undo the Start Time/Stop Time changes to the original.
    8.    Open the folder containing the 30-second AAC file you dragged out of iTunes, then change the file extension from .m4a to .m4r. Double-click it and it immediately gets added to iTunes' ringtone library.
    9.    Finally, sync your iPhone. When it's done, you can head into the settings and select your new ringtone.

I cannot receive group messages from some people but can from others.

Everyone receives my messages but in some conversations I do not receive messages from them. In other conversations it works just fine. Cannot find a difference between conversations. All conversations were with iPhone users

I am here to further assist you today. When you have a group message that comes in, right above where you type in your message you should have an option "Group Conversation" or "Individual Messages". Let's check to see if it is set on the Group Conversation. If it is, go ahead and switch it to individual then switch it back to Group. Then test out the group message again. Another thing I would recommend is to go into Messaging, Tap on Menu in the lower left, Tap on Settings, under the section Multimedia Message Settings make sure there is a check mark in the Auto Retrieve. Keep getting missed calls/missed group calls

Something really strange has been happening for the past week or so. I keep getting missed calls/group calls from "Bastian" and "Anonymous", none of these people are on my contact list and my iphone never rings when they try and call me. I just get a notification to say "missed call". The strange thing is when I swipe the notification to check my skype history none of these calls exist. There is never a missed call on skype for desktop either. On my desktop I have my privacy set to "only allow contacts to call me". Please explain what is going on with these ghost calls and how I can prevent this?

I made a group call for some people running the server, but there are four people in particular I want to make better than everyone else. My friend said I can promote them to administrators, but I don't really know how.

Receiving calls from an ex-directory number

Hi there,
A friend of mine has an ex-directory number. Every time she tries to ring my land line she is unable to get phone to ring. Any body any ideas. I've tried referencing ex-directory, call barring etc. but no luck.

Do you have trouble receiving calls from other people or is it just this one person?
Do they have any troubles calling anyone else?
It is possible that if the other person is with another line provider (sky?) there are known problems that will not allow certain numbers to be rung between different suppliers.

Can't join calls/group calls.

I have the same problem and I cannot get into a group call of 9 people. Microsoft is really slacking. Group Call Problem

Hello, for a while now we have been having problems with group calls. Anyone that tries to join our group call from an Xbox One can not join. They have to be on the skype app and accept from the notification to even have a shot at joining. Now that not the end of the problem, if a call has already been started and they try to join mid call they have no chance at joining. Also if they somehow succeed in joining the call they still can get randomly dropped from the call, thus being unable to join back. We have tried all of the solutions I have seen on this site, this includes adding everyone in the call, and making sure the host of the call has the most up to date skype version. I would apprecaite help on this topic as it has been really annoying to deal with. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I appreciate any help.

I should have mentioned I was able to connect with the guy individually on Skype, but couldn't get him in the group. He ended up getting blocked out of Skype for too many wrong log-ins, so we're hoping to go back in about 40 minutes and try again.

Igonre calls from contact list

Does anyone know how to set where in I can ignore calls from the people on my contact list. I get the screen to ignore when people not in my contact list call, however when some one from the list calls, I do not get that option. Any set up changes. ideas ????

Well, technically you can/could. It's a feature called 'Smart Limits'. However, AT&T no longer allows you to block incoming calls due to potential 911 call-back issues. If you had the feature when it first came out you can still use it but no new subscribers are able to add the feature. It will allow toy block up to 15 specific numbers. It is currently being tested until it has all of the issues sorted out.

Hosting group calls on iPad

I can't host group calls from my iPad, but I can on my laptop? Is there anyway I can host calls from mobile Skype?

Hi, Could you tell me how can I do this? My laptop is broken and it's in the repair center now so I have to make a call by phone or tablet. However, everytime I have to add another person to the group calling, I have to ask other people to add him/her and it's annoying. Is it available to add people from my side? Thank you in advance.

You can add people to the chat via the little plus button left of the chat bar. If they're already in the chat and you want to add them to the call, only the host of the call can add them. I believe they have to be contacts with the host of the call or they both have to have their settings set so that they can receive calls from non-contacts as well.

Okay so I barely use the calling/phone app (the one that comes on it) on my iPhone but most of the calls I get are from random people who I do not know who have the wrong number asking for the same people! I block them all I can but they're not always the same number there's different numbers all the time it's extremely annoying and driving me crazy, the one person left a voice mail again asking for the same person so I called them back and they denied they ever called I kept telling them I got a voicemail from that number and they kept saying no one called from that number. I literally cannot take this anymore. I remember seeing somewhere when I was setting up my phone where I can set it so people cannot call you if they're not in your contacts list. Employee Transfer from One People group to another.

Hi All
Suppose a new employee was hired on 01-Jan-2006 and upto 31-May-2007 he was in People Group X. From 01-Jun-2007 he was shifted to[i] People Group Y.
When I query the assignments using Fastpath,
People window etc. all these are correct. But on the People Form it's showing the Effective From Date as 20-Jul-2007 and Latest Start Date as 01-Jan-2006.
Suppose my user has done something due to which I am getting this. What he may have done? And the employee was not terminated.
Any Idea?

Yes I am talking about the dates on the people screen. Why there are different dates on the People Screen. In the Assignment window everything is fine and also in the View>Worker Assignment window everything is OK.
I have used the Menu Tool>Date Track History also but there are no changes made.
Then why are the dates different in the People Window?

I want to invite 12 people to a birthday party. I have created a group called "Centerville Gang" I want to send just one message to all of these people. I would think there would be a way to select this group as the recipients once instead of doing 12 searches through my contacts to get all of the members in the group but I cant seem to figure it out. I must be missing something. Can you help?

Contact groups do not allow for group emailing. they are just an organizational tool for the contacts list.
