Group Certain Songs with Certain Photos

I have my photos grouped by categories and have assigned songs to each group. How can I made a DVD of all these photos and just have certain songs play when a certain group of photos is being shown?
If someone can point me to online instructions or a video to accomplish this, that would be appreciated.

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
This is one way to get the result you want. While in iPhoto, create albums for each group of photos; then create a slideshow for each album. Use the fit to music option. When you get the slideshow to play the way you want, go to File>Export. This will create a QuickTime movie of the slideshow. Repeat this procedure for each group of photos. Finally, import these movies into iDVD. If you want them to play continuously, then refer to this great visual from Old Toad. http://homepage.mac.com/toad.hall/.Pictures/Forum/iDVD8movieSS.png
If you have iMovie HD6, you have another option on how to proceed. Use iPhoto to create separate slideshows in Quicktime of each photo group. Do not include any music at this stage. Use iMovie to combine the Quicktime movies with music that can be edited as needed. Use iDVD as the final step to create the DVD.
I hope this helps.

  • Synchronizing certain photo albums with iTunes 9 to AppleTV or iPhone

    Hey,
can somebody please explain to me how to synchronize certain Photo album to my AppleTV or iPhone? Whenever I select the device on the left hand side list in iTunes (9.0.2) and go to the "Photos" tab on the right hand side I only have the choice between "All Photos, Events,.." and "Synchronizing photos before anything else". The choice in the middle "selected album, Photos, Events, ..." is always greyed out and not selectable.
So: What do I have to do the synchronize certain photo albums ? I am using Mac OS X 10.6.2, iTunes 9.0.2 and iPhoto 8.1.1

You need to go into your iPhoto application and turn off (or disable) all music that is tied to any of your self-created slideshows. This error seems to be directly related to odd characters in the titles of the songs in your slideshows. Then sync your photos. Afterward, you can then "try" and go back in and re-attach your songs inside your slideshows, and see if your iPhoto photos will again sync without the -50 error.

  • How to hide certain photos in aperture

    hello everyone,
i am trying to hide certain photos from my huge library that my clients should not see accidentally for privacy reasons.
some photo-managers offer this ability but in aperture i didn't figure it out how to do it.
i found a workaround on the web, to rate those photos as 'rejected' and to set the filters down a notch to display everything but the 'rejected'.
that kind of works till i quite aperture. after starting aperture up again, the rejected photos show up.
i would have to set up the filters again to hide them.
this is not what i need.
has anybody a better and more reliable idea?
    thx

and, not everything you wanna hide is because of mummy..
there's something called privacy still and those files i'm talking about can be very innocent, but i wouldn't want to show them to you accidentally.
Unless you allow your clients to freely browse your library it's fairly easy to avoid showing unwanted pictures. The first thing I do before a sitting with a client is use the Favorites function: I select the client's project in the library pane, click the gear icon and choose Add to Favorites. Then I click on the looking glass icon in the search field and select Favorite Items — the client's project becomes the only one visible.
This works for me because I don't use this function for anything else, which means I enable and disable Favorites as needed for this purpose.
But the only reason I do this is to get a cleaner interface during a client sitting. If I didn't all the client would see is the names of my other projects and/or clients. He/she would never see the other pictures unless I selected one of these other projects myself or for some reason decided to browse through all my photos, which I would never do.
You say " i would have to set up the filters again to hide them. this is not what i need."
Filters for albums, folders and projects are sticky and will remain active until you disable or change them. Even between restarts. For instance, I organize my library with yearly folders as the top hierarchy but always add the 3 stars and above filter to those folders. If I click back to the 2007 folder it still has that filter enabled. This ability is extremely powerful, much more than a simple hide function because you can control visibility from a whole range of criteria.
To cut this short: the only time your clients would see photos that don't concern them is if you use the Photos or Projects sections of the library pane when you have someone sitting beside you.
    I personally wouldn't  do that

  • How to select certain photos/events to show up on desktop?

I would like to select certain event folders from IPhoto to show up on my desktop screen saver. Is there a way to do that?  My problem, is that certain photo's show up that I may have even deleted? Annoying. At times, I may do some editing and IMovie projects for friends and their photo's may show up on my screen saver.  Want this to be more personal, pertaining to my family.  How do I accomplish this? Please, detail the procedure on doing the process if it can be done. Thanks.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're users here and don't speak for "Apple Inc."
    Here's how I do it:
In iPhoto, I edit the images as necessary. Then I flag (Command + .) those images I want to use.
They are automatically gathered into the 'Flagged' group under Recent within iPhoto.
By flagging, I'm not limited to just selecting photos from a single event.
When I've flagged all the images, (Command + .) I select the Flagged group and simply export the flagged photos I want to use into a Folder named 'Screen Saver Photos' on my desktop. (Original name, eh?) Then link to it from System Preferences, Screen Saver, Source:
On a 500GB or 1TB drive, duplicating even a few hundred 5MB .jpg photos for this purpose isn't going to use much of the available space. When I'm ready for a new look, I delete the files in 'Screen Saver Photos' folder and start over once again.

  • Newbie Question- unable to view certain photos in iPhoto 6

First time Mac user..just got my MBP.
I created folders and albums under iPhoto. I then copied .JPGs from my shared Windows drive directly into the albums. They get imported correctly because I can see all the pictures in the "gallery" view. However, when I click certain individual pictures, I get a outlined grey box with an exclamation in the middle. This happens with about half the photos. I can't seem to view them.
However, when I go through Finder, I am able to double click on the same photos and view them using Preview. Full size.
Anyone know why I am unable to view certain photos in iPhoto but am able to view everything in Preview?
    Any help is appreciated..
    Thanks!

  • Cannot drag and drop CERTAIN photos from iPhoto 9.5.1

I cannot drag and drop certain photos to the desktop (Mac OS X 10.9.3) from iPhoto 9.5.1
When I encounter this problem the pointer has a circle with a slash as I drag the photo to the desktop and the file will not copy over.  I'd say 25% of my photos suffer from this problem.
    Some things of note:
    - photos that are affected have been taken by variety of devices: iPhone, DSLR camera, or scanned in from film (no device is specific to this problem)
    - a photo that cannot be copied is located in the same subfolder as one that can be copied so it's not folder specific
    - I have trashed the iPhoto prefs files as well as the cache file in Mac OS X 10.9.3
    - I have repaired permissions and the database as well as rebuilt the database in iPhoto all to no avail

  • Slideshow: why do certain photos not show?

slideshow: why do certain photos not show; they are properly referenced
Let me expand on this: I have 570 photos in a slide show and all are properly referenced in my library. In the slideshow window, I can see all the pics in the bottom box and when I run "preview slideshow", certain pictures don't appear in the top box whilst the curser moves across the picture in the bottom box. Likewise, if I run the full screen slideshow, that picture(s) does not appear (I have a blank screen); the next picture does show up, howerver... This happens with several dozen pictures, always the same, randomnley amongst the 570...

Hello Tony and thank you. I regenerated and rebuilt thumbnails; I deleted the slide show and rebuilt it; nothing works. Now, I noticed something weird. All pictures are in an Aperture project and are properly referenced as I said; all the pictures in this project come from a old iPhoto project where some of the pictures are in a "Modified" folder, others in an "Original" project; it is all the pictures in the "Original" project that don't show up in the slide show.... Do you have any idea what I should do?

  • IPhoto unexpectedly quits when viewing or editing certain photos

I have just returned from three weeks abroad and had hoped this issue would have been handled by Apple in the interim, but the same status message is still on their web site as when I left.
"After updating to QuickTime 7.1.3, iPhoto may unexpectedly quit while attempting to import or edit certain photos."
They offer several workarounds, which don't seem to work, and/or are impractical given the huge numbers of photos that are affected in my library, and/or entail losing all the metadata I have so carefully developed.
We're not talking a library of 200 pix of Aunt Edna at the beach. Much of my 10,000 image library consists of professional and technical work that I must deal with on an almost daily basis. Has anyone else, who has experienced this problem found a solution? This is big!
I have library backups, but am wondering if they are also affected and/or if they will be corrupted once I bring them back to the computer with the new Quicktime version, since I don't understand the mechanism of the problem.
OldToad offers a bit of software that embeds RGB profiles and suggested using it. That didn't seem to be the answer, however.
    Help!

As an add on to your post I've written an Applescript that will batch embed the sRGB color profile in folders of image files. If the user has a lot of files to process this can shorten the process time a lot. The script, Embed sRGB Colro Profile can be downloaded from Toad's Cellar.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Show certain photo in slideshow by clicking a button?

I have a slideshow on my homepage which contains 4 pictures. Under that i have photos of 4 energy drink cans to show what i sell. I need the slideshow to change to a certain photo when i click on each of the cans. For eksampel: I click the red can and a photo showing more info about the red energy drink shows on the slideshow. Is this possible anyhow?

    Hi
Yes, you can create a slideshow and include thumbnails , setup autoplay so that when page loads up it would auto play the slideshow. Here when users will click on rollover mouse to any specific thumbnail with drink can image then slideshow will show that image.

  • Hi, dragging jpeg files into i-movie - the selection of jpegs is repeating certain photos and not featuring others, making the entire sequence impossible to view. PLEASE HELP!

Hi, I have been dragging jpeg files into i-movie all week without issue. Now all of a sudden, the selection of jpegs I'm dragging is repeating certain photos and not featuring others, making the entire sequence impossible to view.
Please help, this is urgent for a funeral tomorrow! It didnt happen with any of the other family tributes, they all worked fine.
    Many thanks,
    Ruth

It worked! Thank you! I finally just finished about 20 minutes ago! It took over 26 hours to complete the process you described, but I stuck with it and it worked. I am glad I didn't give up or "forget it" as some might have suggested. That would have set me back until tomorrow!
Ultimately, it turned out there were 45,910 jpgs created. No wonder it took so many hours to render/display them all. It ended up being about 10 hours before it seemed they were all rendered but the process between them displaying and being able to start really deleting them took a few hours because partly I was asleep and also partly it took forever to do anything. Any action as simple as selecting and right-clicking to Get Info, or emptying the trash, would take 20-30 minutes, a couple times longer. The clock stopped many times for 20-30 minutes at a time, a few times over 30 minutes, before catching back up. My cursor never froze which is what really kept me going, although it was a spinning beach ball for most of the time. I was never so relieved to see my regular cursor as opposed to seeing a spinning beach ball as I was early this morning after about 10 hours!
Once I was able to open a Finder window and select all 45,900 files (I had already deleted 10 in the previous couple hours during experimenting of trying to figure out what would work best), then right-click and select to move all the files to the trash, the process of moving them to the trash took 4.5 hours. Then deleting them from the trash took a couple minutes. There were 21.4 GB!!! No wonder the whole process took 26 hours!
    mende1, thank you so much!

I'm having the same issue.  i have imported everything but the offending photo from my iPhone.  problem is, with over 5000 pics, i have no idea how to find THAT ONE pic that won't import (bc I just get a greyed out pic image - with no data in iPhoto)

If you manually manage the device the you can remove the content from the PC after you have put it on the device. However this isn't the recommended way. At some point you'll probably need to restore it which involves wiping all the data. If you don't have all this data to hand then you'll have to try to recover it from a now problematic device first. It's much easier to sync with your library - yes you have two copies, but that's not a waste, it is prudent. As long as you have two copies you can afford to lose one knowing you have a backup. In practice I keep a complete backup of my library, in addition to the subsets of it that I can put on my devices.
