Group chats are completely broken

Since yesterday I am not recieving any messages from group chats and also can't send any messages to group chats. I also can not send messages to offline contacts. The messages stay in a pending state forever. I have re-installed Skype without success, using a proxy server does not help either. When I leave a group it does not actually leave the group and when someone adds me to a new group I don't see the new group. I believe this problem appeared after updating to the latest Skype version. I have tried installing an older version but the problem is still persistent then.

Group Chats are Straight Up Broken

Alright so recently I've been seeing a flood of topics with the same generic problem about legacy group chats, me being me and not wanting to go to such extremes with deleting my account entirely or recreating group conversations, I'll feed to mob to help Skype stay on their tiptoes to fix this. As for my "Unique" problem, I use Skype on both my Macbook Air and my iPhone 5c, I will get notifications for group chats on my phone and everything else normally however when I open the group chat, it only shows up to the message I received before everything broke. I can't send messages as well, though I can still talk alright to singular people. I've tried making an empty group conversation with just myself but messages won't even send in there. I've re-downloaded and taken out my Skype folder momentarily (re-downloaded on my phone too). This problem also bundles up with another one i've had before, my Skype contacts that are on their phones show as offline rather than away and half of my online contacts show as offline making it extremely hard to know who's online when I need to reach them. Now i'm not a fan of having my Skype virtually unusable due to the 5-10 group conversations I use daily, so I'd appreciate this to be fixed soon (Also this problem suddenly jumped up earlier today, nothing was changed so Skype support, don't reply with your annoying as heck automatic responses that tell me to do things that never work, i'd like this to either be fixed or get a reply from an actual representative, thank you)
EDIT: Did a bit of testing, I can still recieve group calls however I cannot start any, and I cannot send messages while in a group call. I have also left one group in an attempt to fix it although my friend on the inside said I didn't leave the group at all, even though I'm not allowed to message in it (although it wouldn't go through regardless). I can still function normal 1 on 1 chats normally but the messages seem to only send when they're online? This may be a result of me removing and readding my skype folder from the library directory

BBM Groups - conversations in group chats are always missing!

Hi, I'm a relatively new BB user. I belong to 2 BBM groups. All the group members are my contacts. In every single BBM group chat I miss parts of the conversation. It is very random what I miss and how much I miss. I can't follow the chat generally there is that much missing. There isn't a pattern, ie somedays I can see say contact x and y and the next day x and z. The chat never catches up, ie the missing conversation text never comes through hours later. I own a curve 8520 and my BBM group chat screen looks different to all my friends, they have later version BBs. I have version 5.0 software. I did an update for BBM via appworld, removed battery, left the groups, have been re-added and still no luck. I have no problem ever with regular BBM chat one-on-one with any of my contacts, only group conversations. My service provider have been no help despite multiple phone calls. Any ideas?

Send /get name chat command to this particular group chat.
If the returned name starts with #name, then this group chat is the old P2P group.
If the returned name starts with 19: then this group is the new Cloud based group.

None of the messages in the group chat are showing up

My phone notifies me when someone talked in the group chat but when I click on the notification, it just shows a chat with no one in it. Neither chats show up in my recents. I can't send or receive messages. This just happened today and I'm really confused as to what happened

Ok I just talked to support via chat and apparently this is a known iPhone mobile App issue. This is exactly what he said to me: "I was informed that this issue already have a ticket to our engineers and they are already working on this one. This has something to do with the latest version of Skype for tablets and mobiles. We may release another version of Skype app so once an update is avaialble, update the app on your phone ASAP." Hope this ease some frustration.

Finder window preferences are completely broken.

Snow Leopard has been out for quite a while now, however some absolutely glaring bugs with the Finder window preferences still exist.
No matter what you do to set preferences for, no matter what you do with the window controls, no matter what mode you view them in... they are never remembered.
This worked fine in 10.5 and previous... where you could select options like "this folder only" or "copy to existing folders" or "make default view". NONE of this works and saves what you do.
This is very uncharacteristic of Apple and their quality control. It's easy to see as a long-time Mac user that they are slipping in these areas quite a bit.
Apple, is there a fix coming for this?

Oh I do wish you were correct. It almost "just works" but not entirely!
The OSX Finder has never really had the base customisability of the OS9 finder. Ii miss being able to open folders in list view and see the following columns nicely sized to fit, in sequence and resortable to my my preference of the moment. My preferred sequence is label, size, name (flowed to 2 or 3 lines, date modified, comments (likewise flowed to at least 2 lines). Of these being able to move the label and sort to the first columns and have them stuck there and at sized to fit minimum column space would expedite most finder tasks.
The other feature that wasn't in OS9 that I wish for is the ability to instantly assign finder labels inside Finder Save-as dialogues-boxes, I often wonder, "What sort of lazy gimps at Apple left this out?" It is unreal that the forgoing omissions remained omitted for more than a decade of development of OSX. The finder lable alone would save me thousands of mouse clicks per month. I've heard it suggested that Spotlight negates these needs, but frankly it is fairly hopeless as a tool, as once you have used it to find the 3800 files that meet the spotlight searchable criteria, it is well nigh impossible to drill down further , or resort the discovered files, -- and more often than not Spotlight seems to miss the file your looking for even if you enter the correct filename in full, e.g., "Applejuice.jpg" located at the root level of the user/Pictures/ folder. In theory it should turn up all of in the following: basic finder search function; sidebar smart folders and spotlight but… !!*#!. And yes I do know all about the Spotlight preferences (both explicit and hidden). I usually end up relying instead on having a folder structure that is logical and doing a manual "eyeball" search for the required file and duplicates. which is frankly a hassle over the many drives I have in use. The failure of the Finder search functions is worrying as it throws doubts upon the reliability of Time Machine.

Podcasts are completely broken suddenly

I noticed some album art I needed to fix on my iPhone so I fixed it in iTunes and plugged the iPhone into my computer (which does not sync automatically). Due to negative experiences in the past with the way iTunes and iPhone fight over podcasts, I UNCHECKED the box in iTunes enabling podcasts syncs. I clicked Apply in iTunes and a sync immediately began, which proceeded to copy all of the podcasts from my iPhone into iTunes, and then deleted all of those podcasts from my iPhone. Which is exactly what I didn't want to happen.
Frustrated at the thought of redownloading all of my podcasts over the iTunes Mobile Store, I re-enabled podcast syncs in iTunes, and clicked Apply which made iTunes copy all of those podcasts back to the iPhone.
Except now they won't play, and most of them have missing album art now. I can tap on any of them and the screen will slide to the left and then instantly back to the right showing me the podcast list again. I can download podcasts from the iTunes Mobile Store but they never show up in my podcast list. If I delete a podcast (or all of them, which I've done), then force the iPod app closed by holding down the home button, then open up the iPod app again, the podcasts all magically reappear as if I hadn't just deleted them 20 seconds prior.
So I can't listen to any podcasts, I can't download any podcasts, I can't delete any podcasts, nothing. What in the world can I do to fix this aside from wiping the iPhone completely? The computer I sync with is my work PC so I don't have that ability at the moment but I would welcome suggestions on what to do when I get to work tomorrow morning. Blocking people in Group Chats

Hello there, I've been doing a great amount of reseasrch on this topic, and it seems that blocking someone doesn't prevent you from seeing their messages posted to a group chat that you're both in.
Previous "Solutions" have amounted to "Hope you're an admin and can kick them". I'm told that this feature used to be available in older versions, but having trawled through a great many dubious download sites not one of the old versions that purport to still have this feature has still been supported by Skype, connections from those old cleints are refused. I'd really, really appreciate it if this would be re-implemented, and don't really understand what could possibly be the rationalisation behind removing it in the first place? I see a great deal of requests from the community, of varying degrees of politeness, expressing confusion and anger about this and I hope that making a posting here might lead to some kind of fix, once and for all.

Yes, block/ignore function is mandatory in every application which provides some kind of group chat functionality. Especially if these group chats are somewhat persistent like they are in skype. I don't understand why this MOD "Ellie" suggests the things she did in her post. Do you really think that when there is 5-20 people in the group chat, everyone tolerates everyones... "potentially constructive" or "worthwhile postings" like Ellie described the messages. I can answer this myself. The answer is no, people won't tolerate each other and they shouldn't because there should be ignore/block function available also in the group chats. Jeez, why do I have to even explain this stuff... Please, implement ignore/block function to the group chats.

Invoice(which are complete already) grouping for just output purpose

Dear Experts,
I have requirement to group the invoices which are complete through VF01 and VF04, and to create an output using the smart from that we have developed
I understand VF21 actually to create Invoice list which are due for the payer.
So I understand that canu2019t be used for this purpose.
Could you please suggest if VF21 still can be used to group the completed Invoices or else
Could you suggest if there is an alternative.
Quick response would be of great help.

Thanks. i thought VF21 is only to group invoices whcih are due for payer. And i thoght if billing already done it would not be possible to create invocie list.

Push notifications broken on p2p group chat

When on a p2p group chat push notifications do not work, tested on ios 8/9. I have a similar cloud based group chat and notifications are working correctly. This is an urgent bug that needs to be fixed.

This is known and since we are working to move away from P2P group this won't be fixed. The client will wake up in regular intervalls to check for updates in P2P group chats, but that's it. Check the group chat notification settings to enable it for the chat you want.

I was on iMessage when I accidentally added loads of people on a new chat and then created group chat and I've been trying to delete it but nothing has worked.

You can't. All you can do is get all the members to stop using/responding to that chat.

Not receiving messages from group chats

It all started with this notification: (Name) needs to update Skype to participate in this chat. Help by sending them to skype.com/updateme. Learn more about new group chat. I immediately tried to update skype by going to the given link, but the message is still showing up when I am added to a group chat or call. Whenever messages are sent to the group, I can only see them if I log out of skype and log back in, there is also a similar bug happening where my friends tell me they have added me to the groups and the groups dont show up on my recent chats... not even if I log out or log back in but only if they start a call. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling skype, resetting skype, and "updating" it by going to skype.com/updateme and downloading the windows desktop client link that is given. I am on windows 8. I really need help fixing this ): Thanks

Hi Guys, you need to follow the below instructions in order to get rid of this issue:
1. First of all, sign out from Skype application and close it completely by clicking on “Quit Skype”.
2. Once you are done with it, you need to go Run Command (Run command is accessible through the Start menu or through the shortcut key ⊞ Win+R) & type %appdata% and press enter.
3. A window will appear on your screen and you will see “Skype” folder in it. Please delete that Skype folder and then try to reopen the Skype application. And you will be able to receive/send group messages now.
(Please note the last instruction may not work if you have not followed the first instruction correctly).

SMS messages delayed in Group Chat

I bought a new iPhone 5s 2 months ago and have since often had issues receiving SMS messages on time in a Group Chat. 4 of us in the chat have iPhones, 1 person has an Android, but it was never an issue before buying the 5s. It also happens when I have a perfect signal. Hours later, I will get a whole slew of messages that were sent earlier in the day, so they are somehow getting stuck and it keeps happening. This has not been an issue for other iPhone users in the Group Chat. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how it can be fixed?

Did she mention where she lives? Did she mention if she got an unlocked device? No. So how you know?

Group Chat missing from Phone/OK on PC

Hello, I have lost one of my group chats from my Android phone which works fine on my Desktop and Surface PCs. Nothing I have done seems to recover my access to it. I uninstalled Skype on my phone, powered the phone off, powered it on, reinstalled Skype. That didn't work. Uninstalled Skype again, checked to make sure there were no Skype files left behind. Didn't find any. Rebooted the phone again. Reinstalled Skype a second time. That did not resolve the problem either. When someone types something in the Group Chat it shows as a notification on my phone. If I select the notification it will show me what they said, but the group chat name does not show up and instead it shows as "Person Name, ..." and while the text entry box shows up along with the arrow, I can't select it. Attempting to type anything in the box doesn't work since it won't even pop up the keyboard so I can type. I can favorite it, but then it will still not show the chat name, will not allow me to send messages, will only show one participant in the chat (not me), and will not retain a history of any of the messages that come in (once they are viewed from the notification they are lost). So there's no effective way to interact with it. Since it is my chat of which I am the administrator, I can't add/remove myself from the chat either. Chat starts with a name=19 which I am told means it is a cloud based chat. I started it roughly 8 months ago maybe? Phone: Samsung Galaxy Note 3Model Number: SM-N900VAndroid Version: 5.0Network: Verizon Wireless (also use it on my Home WiFi)Skype Version: 5.7.0.13054 Additional Note: I am missing all group chats. My Skype IMs to certain people are also very delayed. I just sent a couple of IMs to the admin of that chat and they are just sitting there dim grey and pending. I can communicate fine with other individuals. Yet the same person, I can communicate without delay from my PC.

Hi, I've had this exact same problem myself. Skype 5.8 on Android 5, Lolipop. No amount of resetting or uninstalling will help. Symptoyms include, but are not limited to: - Messages always dimmed, even though people can see and respond to them- Get notifications that show up in the system and show real messages, but cannot be seen at all inside Skype- Complete loss of all Skype history; everything becomes completely invisible, as though you never had those conversations- Complete inability to use group chats whatsoever; only one person will show should you join them, and you won't see any messagea from anybody at all (whether posted before or posted while looking at it)- Occasionally, some pictures (whether profile photos, emoticons, or images to the Skype app itself, including the logo) don't load at all. This was a _huge_ break, it's literally bricked Skype. The application is completely worthless now; what kind of a chat platform can't even deliver messeges? It's an alpha quality release, and I hope the Skype team gets to work on fixing this as soon as possible. I hope in the future it's tested more robustly; these are not subtle bugs, anyone who installs the cersion currently up will find they are no longer able to use te service. Feeling helpless, confused, and very frusterated there's nothing I can do to fix it (and that in all likelyhood, the earliest a patch will come will probably be _weeks_ away, if ever).

4 out of 30 skype group chats unresponsive after 4...

Hi I am using windows 7 on desktop and latest skype, I also use the android version on a motorola G phone and I have about 30 group conversations at work, 4 of the group chats have failed to sync over the last 4 days and I cant leave them or anything they are completely unresponsive. I have tried to unintall and reinstall on both platforms but still these group chats do not work. How do I fix this problem?

Leo, an excellent point!
Powering of the switch, when "adding" to the stack, no doubt gets it to initiate itself as a stack member.
Re-cabling existing stacks members, shouldn't need that, but the question then is whether the hardware (stack connections) were designed for making "hot" (i.e. both sides powered on) connections. If they are, then you're correct, no need to power off switch 5.
