Group differs

When I run disk permissions, I get Group differs on "Private/etc/cups" , should be 0, group is 26.
Repairing gives the same error. Is this a problem, How do I fix it. I am running latest updates.

*THE MESSAGE DOES NOT INDICATE A REAL PROBLEM.* Permission repair has generated this type of message for years - why, I do not know since they only confuse people.
*DO NOT*, I repeat, *DO NOT* attempt to use arcane UNIX commands to fix what is not a problem to start with. A trite phrase that has been around since the beginning of computing (or 50+ years, in my case) is +"If it is not broken, don't fix it."+

ERROR when repairing permissions: Group differs on "private/etc/cup"

Hi,
When I run permissions repair on my Leopard 10.5.4 I get the error message:
ERROR when repairing permissions: Group differs on "private/etc/cup", Should be 0, group is 26
Any idea why... It pops up every time I run permissions repair so I don't think it is really getting repaired.

As the title suggests I got this issue which is annoying because it is causing high inactive memory & this obstacles all the rest . Means I must do 2-3 times a day repair permissions with Disk Utility .

I actually have this all the time. com.apple.alf.plist is always repaired whenever Disk Utility repairs permissions.
I also came across somewhere that it was included in the solution for a problem about iTunes requesting permission to access internet everytime it is launched. And I had that issue as well. (iTunes asks for my permission for internet access everytime I launch it.) And the solution proposed for this included the deletion of this "com.apple.alf.plist" regarding a firewall issue. Although I deleted the file, Disk Utility still repairs this file (though iTunes haven't yet asked for internet permissions.) everytime I run the permission repair.
I suppose there has got to be a solution to keep the file stable, like without causing the repair.
Not a big issue, as mentioned in the thread title; but still, this may be the cause or result of something going on in the computer; so any suggestions are welcome.

When running disk utility, repair permissions, this error message keeps coming up. I have had to repair permissions more than once for this. Why would my printer group change if I am not changing it? What is group 80 versus group 0?

Yes, I keep getting the same thing, on Yosemite 10.10.1 , and it seems to happen multiple times, per up-time session .
Apparently, the group-id-number that is equivalent to "80" is actually named "admin", and the group-id-number that is equivalent to "0" is actually named "wheel", which is the super-user alter-ego of the user-id-number "0" ("root") .
This recurring "permissions" warning, and repair, isn't listed in Apple's "Disk Utility Permissions that you can Safely Ignore" (with an article modification-date of NOV 19, 2014):

Immediately i performed Repair Disk Permission but in the end i still get this massage.

Why? Who says it's a bug worth worrying about?
Ever since Repair Permissions was introduced (around 10.1.5 I seem to remember, although it was 10.2 before it was integrated into Disk Utility) there have been occurrences of these "spurious" errors.
Take a look at these:
Spurious Permissions errors in 10.2
Spurious Permission errors in OS X 10.3
Spurious Permission errors in OS X 10.4
Some of these disappeared with point updates, others didn't. They did not prevent anyone's system working. They were acknowledged as unimportant in this article: Disk Utility reports some messages that you can ignore when checking permissions.
I didn't write an equivalent for 10.5, because there were so many ACL and SUID errors which changed with each version, see Mac OS X 10.5: Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions reports issues with SUID files.
This particular message is of no consequence. It may or may not disappear with the next system update. But if it bothers you, the answer is simple: stop Repairing Permissions!

Group Different Albums by the Same Artist under one Album Cover

I've read many posts regarding grouping tracks by different artists into one album, but none dealing with grouping tracks by one artist together from different album titles. An example of this would be classical pieces that are divided into different acts, or more recently, the new Green Day album "21st Century Breakdown," which also divides the album into "acts." Another example of this situation could be a box set by a particular artist, for instance an Eagles box set that contains 3 discs of differing titles (disc one: Eagles, disc two: Desperado, disc three: Live) in which case the three CDs are all essentially part of the same album.
I know the grouping field can be utilized to tag all the CDs within the same set to keep them together; however, I have not been able to use this feature to group albums such as those mentioned above together under one album art in the grid or in the coverflow view. It looks rather silly when there are 3 or 4 of the same album cover in a row in the grid or the coverflow.
The best way I could think to differentiate the different acts on an album or CDs in a set was to group the songs in their own folder and change the title of the album tag to reflect which act (or CD) those particular tracks covered. While this works in the list view to keep the tracks in order, it does not allow me to view the album as a “whole” using the coverflow view. It seems the only way to merge differently tagged tracks is if the ALBUM title is the same even if there are multiple artists. I’ve tried using the grouping, sorting, and “part of a compilation” options with no success. Is there any way to merge these tracks under one album art while retaining the different album names?

Adding slightly to the previous post I would suggest that you give each disc of the set an appropriate disc no., e.g. Discs 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3 of 3 for Eagles, Desperado & Live respectively in your Eagles Box Set. Record the individual disc titles in the Comments or Grouping field, then change the Album title for all three discs to something appropriate like "Eagles Box Set". The three discs will collapse into one cover and play in sequence. If marking the transition from one disc to another matters you could, for example, simply add the album name in brackets to the first track of each album. You could use curly brackets to distinguish this from other types of track comment. For more organizational tips see my previous post on Grouping Tracks Into Albums, in particular the topic One cover for multi-disc album.
The alternative approach for box sets which simply repackage a number of original albums together is to find the original artwork for each album.

This is my problem:
I have a classic hierarchy like the following:
Region->City->Department->Store name
In my fact table are stored some measures about product.
Each product belong to a category (the category is another dimension in the fact table).
I have to group togheter different set of category dynamically according to the level of hierarchy where user is during drilling operation.
An example:
where i am at Region level i have to group the category product 100 and 200
if i drill down to the City level i have to group the categoty product 300 and 400.
How can i do this at runtime (ie: during the navigation of the report)

As mentioned above u can create an MP on top of the cubes. But in Report u will have to use only those characteristics which are common between the two cubes or the records will come in 2 rows. Say in ur case u cant use Item No and Doc No. But if u dont have any complex calculations u can use 'Constant selection' to get the records in the same row.

Puchasing Group different between PR and SC

Dear Expert,
i'm doing SRM7 - with extended classic scenario implementation.
when i create PR in ECC and then replicate this PR to SC in SRM7 using BBP_extreq. The puchasing group is different. e.g PR in ECC have purchasing group 160, but after i get this pr to SC in SRM, the puchasing group become 110. I have already assign the purchasing group in PPOMA_BBP.
i have read many thread about this, and many people use badi to get the purchasing group correct in SRM. is it there is another way to make this problem solved using standart configuration?

How can I group different projects in one? How can I move a sketch from one project to another?

It seems that in Adobe Draw for iPad you can only organize your files inside a project, but i need to organize all the sketches imported from Ideas that comes in Adobe draw each one as a project. I need to group some sketches in project and I don't damn know how to.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to move sketches between projects. You can only reorder sketches within the same project.
In the next release of Draw, you will be able to manually import individual .idea files from your CC account, in addition to the one-time fetch all functionality in place today. When you manually import multiple files, those files will all be imported into one new project. This could be used as a way to organize your .idea files into projects.
We are also hoping to add the ability to move sketches between projects in a future release.

What does this error indicate, i.e., what is it saying?
I continue to get this on my Disk Utility... I'll run repair permissions, and it will go away for awhile... but then, I'll notice it again, say, after a software update and repair of permissions.
What groups are 80 and 0?

Until I fixed this error using Disk Utility, I couldn't install a 3rd party software app. I didn't log in as root to do it either, just repaired permissions and the install "took" the second time. I'm a member of the admin group... at least I thought I was! My user account says I'm an administrator and I'm the only user on this mac... any way to see what my user account rights are? I know netinfo, but I don't know how to interprate it?

and i can even do this

ok, in the first case it means that for taskHandle3 i will read all 8 bits from port0 in "Dev2/port0", right?
in the second case it means that for taskHadle4 i will read only line0 and line1 from port1 in"Dev2/port1", right?

The answer lies on the creation of the channel, DAQmx allows you to include different ports on the same line, that should include both ports on the same task. It should be something like this:
Dev1/port0/line0:7, Dev1/port1/line0:1
All of this must be on the same line under the " ". You can try this and check if it works.

Itune - How to Group Different Artist into Same Ablum

I have a collection type Album - has all different artist
I would like to the songs to show up in an single cover flow
so when i go to cover flow view - there is only 1 album not multiple
right now
i have 7 album in cover flow for that collection -they all have same album name but different artist

You need to select the 1st song, then right-clock on it. Select "Get Info" from the dropdown list. On the Info window that opens, select the "Information" tab. In the bottom right corner, you'll see a checkbox named "part of a compilation".
Left-click to put a checkmark in that box. Next, click on the "NEXT" button (at the bottom-center of the window), and add the checkmark to the next song in the list. Repeat that process for all songs in the compilation album.
Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to select that checkbox for multiple songs at once... You have to manually do it to each song. (I have lots of compilation albums, and it took a LONG TIME to fix all the info.
So far, I'm pretty unimpressed with the "Genres" that iTunes created when it imported my 180GB music collection. It's taken a couple of weeks to change all 38,000 songs into the Genre folders I have things sorted into in my computer.

Force Digit grouping different from Regional Settings

I use Excel sheets with financial numbers in various currencies. Most of them need a digit grouping of 123,456,789, hence my regional settings are set to us that format. Only when I use cells showing India Rupees, I need a digit grouping of 12,34,56,789.
Is there a way of defining a custom format that I can set in a Macro, and apply it to specific cells only, without changing the way the whole of Excel (or for that matter, the whole computer) behaves, by modifying the regional settings?
