Group email: each recipient's name appears?

I want to send a group email so that each recipient's address appears in the "To:" box. I don't want anyone to see anyone else's address so I uncheck "when sending to a a group, show all member addresses". The problem is that the "To:" now shows "undisclosed recipients". I want it to show each individual's address but not the other members of the gropu.
If this can't be done, does anyone know of a client that can do this?
Thanks

The 'red' coloured font usually means that the email address/contact is not in any of your address books.
However, there is a bug which is effecting the colour of the font even if in an address book under some circumstances. The developers are aware of it.
It is possible to completely switch this off so red font does not occur.
'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'General' tab
click on 'Config Editor' button
it will tell you to be careful :)
In top search type; autoComplete
look for this line:-
mail.autoComplete.highlightNonMatches; Value = 'True'
Double click on that line to toggle the 'True' to 'False'
Then close window - top right X
click on OK to save changes to Options.
Close and restart Thunderbird.

  • How to send a group email where the recipients' names and addresses remain anonymous?

I wish to send out an email to a "Group" in my Apple Contacts. I want the several recipients in the group to be unknown to each other, where their names and addresses are invisible – except myself, the creater of the email.
Does Apple 'Mail' and/or 'Contacts' allow for this?
And, by keeping the group invisable, will this prevent any one recipient from responding as a 'Reply All,' thereby still being able to respond to everyone in the otherwise invisible group?

Put the addresses in the Bcc field. If it is not shown, select it from the button on the compose window:

  • Hiding Addresses in iCloud Group Emails

I have restored all the addresses in a large group that I send periodic emails to.  In the old days, I just typed the name of the group, but I was able to hide all the addresses.  That way, no one had to see the whole aggravating page of names and addresses.  They just saw the group name.  And some of the people did not want their address to be public, anyway.  I CANNOT find anything in iCloud email preferences that allows me to do this.  When I type the name of the group, every one of the names appear!  How can I send an iCloud group email without a page of addresses showing

I have had a similar problem in my recent conversion to using iCloud. I have over 4500 entries in Address Book, subdivided into about 50 different groups. When I moved to iCloud, all the groups disappeared in iCloud and on my Mac. Fortunately they still exist on my iPhone, but I have found no way to get them back on to my Mac where I need them the most. Re-creating all the groups would be a huge task!
Individual entries seem to sync OK in all 3 places, but the Groups do not sync.

  • How do i send a group email without showing recipient names?

    hi
i would like to ask how do i send a group email without showing recipient names - without using bcc!
i have seen that peple send group emails and only the only info that appers is the: from and to emails are the same as the sender email.
    how do i do that?
isnt there any app for Gmail to do that?
    i am using gmail
    thank you

If you address the email to yourself and then put all your recipients in the bcc it appears to each recipient as if they got your email. In other words they will not see anyone else's name or even their own name - just yours.

  • SENDING AN EMAIL USING BCC AND RECIPIENT NAME APPEAR IN TO FIELD

I'm sending and email to several people using the BCC field.  However, when the recipients receives the email, I want the recipient's name to appear in the TO field and the recipient not know the email was sent using the BCC.  Right now, the
recipient knows it was sent BCC because their name is not appearing in the address fields

    Hi Vinay,
You can use action defintions to send emails to your employee responsible.
for that pls check action profile 'Order_Messages' and within this, action definition
    'ORDER_CONFIRMATION'.
Check in there. Partner funtion is assigned to it, in second level customizing and smart form to be mailed in third level customizing.
Prerequisite: emails should be maintained in BP master.
For your requirement you can  do following settings:
In second level customizing(i.e. selecting the action definition and double click on the same)
Enter the partner funtion of Emp. responsible. in 'Partner Determination for the Action' Details. and check 'Partner Dependent'.
Secondly, in details for 'Action Determination and Action Merging' in 'Action Merging' details select 'Max. 1 Unprocessed Action for Each Action Definition.
    Save the settings.
Schedule the actions using action scheduling.

  • MAIL: Recipient doesn't want his name appearing next to his email address

I use Mail on my MacPro w/ a gmail account. I have a client who doesn't want his name appearing next to his email address when I write to him. I've deleted his address book vcard & turned off the auto address completion in prefs. Still no good.
    Any suggestions?

Go to Window -> Previous Recipients in Mail and delete his address there.  It will add him to that list again next time you send him a message, so be sure not to include his name at that time.
I wonder what possible reason he could have for that?  There's no rational reason I can think of for that.  But you've got to do it the way he wants anyway, I suppose.

  • How do i send a group email without entering each name

how do I send group emails without entering each seperate? The groups I created in gmail don't show in my contacts on phone

    Hi Nancy,
The other poster has only given a partial answer, so I thought I'd better post as its now something of a specialist subject for me.
Groups in your device are a means to group together all your contacts for friends, work colleagues etc. in your address book. they are normally created in a Mac or Windows PC address book and synched across. However your device can't send email to everyone in those groups at once using the default apps. (The reason Apple chose to do this is probably that contacts can have one, many or no email addresses, so there isnt a direct relationship between these groups and how you'd want to email them.)
There are a number of apps available which let you define groups and send email to them inside a custom app, this works well but you can only send mail to groups from inside their app, so you can only include attachment types they have thought of, and have no means to forward a received email with attachments to a group.
The only app that takes a different approach is our MailShot app, this creates special group contacts in your address book. They can be used to send email to a MailShot group from inside your favourite apps, just like it was built into the iPhone. By using them in Mail you can forward emails to a group of people, with attachments intact, or by using them from a different app, like GoodReader or Google Maps, you can send whatever attachments those apps create.
Mailshot will be back in the App store next week, free to try with an in-app upgrade available to increase the number of groups and contacts it handles.

  • Send bulk emails with only the recipients name appearing in the TO field when they recieve it

    Hi
I want to know if Mail or any third party software will enable me to send a bulk email to a group in my address book with the recipeant only seeing their name and not the names of all the others in the group email.
I dont want to use cc or bcc because then the TO is not personalised when the person recieves the email.
I had a great plugin in outlook on my PC that worked great called Send Personally from Mapilab but it is not compatiable with Mac, I am desperate to find something that works any ideas???

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It's probably quite simple, and nothing to do with your Address Book group.
It is a matter of 'junk mail' or 'spam' filtering on the recipient end, I think.
    1. Apparently not everyone in your Address Book group (12 of 15 apparently?) has your current email address among their 'permitted email addresses', so, your original email message ends up in their 'junk mail' or 'spam filter' or whatever it is called by their email provider. Some businesses and schools also filter incoming messages for subject, language, content, or by sender's address (one company I dealt with prohibited all incoming email from Hotmail, for example), so it could be filtered at that level. In that case, the recipient might have to specifically ask the IT department to add your email address to a 'permitted' list.
    2. When someone else in the group hits 'reply all', THEIR email address IS among the 'permitted email addresses' for everyone else, and they are in effect 'forwarding' your message from their email address, so the filtering affecting your email address does not affect their re-sending of your message.

Several contacts have the same email address. How can I choose which contact name appears on the address line in Mail?

you can't really, but you might be able to filter them by message content into folders for each, or color them with tags

  • Hiding Recipient email addresses from view in a group email

I want to compose 1 email which I'll send to a group of 10 email addresses, but I don't want the list of email addresses to be included in the email the recipient receives when I send the email. Is this possible?

Actually, one doesn't even need to address it to one's self or anyone else in the "To:" line. If all recipients are "BCC'ed," the email shows up addressed "To: undisclosed recipients"

  • Is it possible to have a group of email contacts under one name eg mums in year 4?

I would like to be able to send a group of people regular emails without having to add their address to the 'to' box. Is it possible to have a number of email addresses under one name?

    Hi,
from the panel on the left hand side (where you see all the slides vertically), you can select one with your mouse and slightly drag it to the right, so as to create a sort of indentation.
    would that work?

  • Using Gmail in iPhoto and cannot find any of my groups to email.  I have at least seven or eight groups that I email, each containing over 50 addresses. Is there a way to locate my email groups using iPhoto to send out mail in Gmail? Using version 9.5.1

Using Gmail in iPhoto and cannot find any of my groups to email.  I have at least seven or eight groups that I email, each containing over 50 addresses. Is there a way to locate my email groups using iPhoto to send out mail in Gmail? Using version 9.5.1  (902.17) OS is Mavericks 10.9.1.

Your question and description is not very clear to me, so hopefully something here will help:
    1. Gmail is a service not an app or a place. So you need to access the service with an app - that can be iPhoto, Mail, Outlook or any other mail client, or even a Web Browser like Safari or Firefox.
So you can't "go to GMail" as you write, but instead you go to an application set up to use the GMail service.
    2. iPhoto is not a mail client. It's a handy way to email pics to Grandma, but for what you're doing you need to use an app that supports all of the Gmail service. iPhoto doesn't. There is no way around that.
    3. How to send to groups will vary depending on what app you use to access the GMail service. All of these apps can receive photos from iPhoto, either - as in the case of Mail and Outlook, via the Share function - or, in the case of all the rest - via a Media Browser.
For help sending to Groups using any of these other apps you need to ask omn their respective forums. But the workflow is quite simple:
Using Mail or Outlook set in the iPhoto Prefereneces:
    1. Select the pic(s) you want to share.
    2. Choose email from the Share function
    3. Make your selections re size etc
    4. The email opens up in Mail or Outlook
    - from there you need to figure out how to use the email client.
    Using any other app:
    1. In the mail app create a new email
    2. Click on the Attach button or link
    3. Use the Media browser to select the pic(s) you want to send
    4. Attach them
    - from there you need to figure out how to use the email client.

  • When sending an email how do I set the address when sending to multiple recipients so that each recipient only sees his or hers address and not everyone else

I would like so send emails to multiple addresses yet I want each recipient to only see his or her address

This question isn't related to Mozilla Firefox. However, I can still answer your question. In the 'to' field, put your own e-mail address and put each recipient's address in the BCC field. This way the only address seen is your own.
Please try to post in the appropriate forum next time. (Thunderbird, Gmail, etc.)
