Group "fuse" membership ignored by $ sudo iphone-mount

i have to admit that this feels like something very basic and im ashamed for not understanding it.  i have googled "fuse group not recognized" and nothing useful appears.  i know google spiders this forum but please refer me to the proper thread if this is covered elsewhere.  TIA
plugging in the iphone 3gs and running dmesg gives this:
usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 9
ipheth 1-3:4.2: Apple iPhone USB Ethernet device attached
then mounting fails:
[au@arroyo2 ~]$ lsmod|grep fuse
fuse 51934 1
[au@arroyo2 ~]$ groups
wheel users fuse
[au@arroyo2 ~]$ sudo iphone-mount
Please add yourself to the fuse group, logout/in and try again.

thanks for the heads up.  obviously the only reason to add the user to group fuse would be to give that user privileges to execute this command.  googling "sudo iphone-mount" returns a page that describes the result which causes the error to pop up misleadingly.

  • FIM export custom group's membership to ADDS

    hi,
we currently facing a problem with group's membership management.
We created our own resource type which represents a group, it has the same binding than native Group for group's management exept explicitMember and computedMember but we created a multivalued attribute for the members management. Moreover we have created
the mandatory MPR and so on... In ADDS we are able to create the group but we have a problem to populate the member attribute and the displayedOwner. All other parts are working. We don't have any error in the event log or in FIM.
    What have we missed ?
Does anyone have an idea ?
    Thanks
    Greg

    Hi Greg,
I had the same error in the past.
I think that your error is the user is not in the same connector space of your group object. Check and change it and after that, your provisionning will be works.

  • Nesting of Rules for Auto Group (Role) Membership Rules in OIM 11gR2

Does anyone know how to nest rules for auto group (role) membership in OIM 11gR2. The General rules in Design Console are no longer used for auto group membership and the rules that can be configured in the Role properties cannot be nested as far as I can see.
    Any info is appreciated.
    Thanks!

My mistake... this is possible in the web ui.

  • Have android, cannot receive group mms message from one specific iphone

I have a galaxy s4. My mom, dad, and sister, all have iphones. Whenever my family sends me a group message, I cannot receive any messages from my dad's phone. For example, if my mom sends a group message to my sister and me, I receive both of their messages. When she sends a group message to my dad and me, I only receive her messages, not my dad's.
Looking at the message history, group messages on my dad's iphone stay in imessage format (blue) even with my number as a recipient. On my mom's, the messages sent from her are green.
I can receive individual messages from my dad which are green.
I've checked the messaging settings on my dad's iphone and it completely matches my mom's messaging settings.
Is there any reason why his phone is staying in imessage format for group messages as compared to my mom's or my sisters?

I went through this after switching from iPhone to Android. I spent a couple of hours over a period of three days talking to Apple and Verizon support, trying everything they suggested. I finally got this info from a second-level Apple support rep: This is a known problem that will be fixed in some future release. Meanwhile, ask friends with iPhones to send you one-to-one messages, not group messages.

  • Can I Turn off iMessage in a group text with multiple people with different devices? There's 1 person in the group text that doesn't use iPhone anymore and they can't see any messages that are sent unless we send as regular text individually.

Is there a way to turn off iMessage for a group text that includes multiple people with different non-apple devices? When a message is sent, only the iPhone users can see the iMessage. Those without them cannot see the texts unless we send individual Text Messages or turn off iMessage completely.

now I have this and it still doesn't work.

  • How can I add a contact to a group on my iPad Air or IPhone 6?

I'm away from my computer for a while and was trying to add a contact to a group on my iPad/iPhone. I don't want to download another app to handle this simple task. All my mobile devices are up-to-date and have plenty of memory. I tried logging into iCloud on a non-Safari browser but the contact list wouldn't download so I could work on it. Did I miss a link somewhere inside of the Contact edit where I could just add to a group? Thanks for any help you can give me.

You are not doing anything wrong. The feature that you need is totally lacking in the built in Mail app on the iPad.
There are a couple of third party mail apps that will let you do this ... MailShot and Group Email with Attachments. You can check them out in the App Store.

  • Group txt no longer works on iphone 4s

I have just got my iPhone 4s, all looking great until I went to use a group txt app.
I run a football team and used the group txt app (37 recipients) on the iPhone 4 all the time, tried to send group txt yesterday and it came up as an imessage and only one person (who has iphone4s) reolied, no one else received it?
I even downloaded two more group txt apps, still no joy!!
    Any suggestions??

I have the same issue. My 3Gs worked fine until about 6 months ago and it got progressively worse. Edge works fine but when it comes to 3G sometimes it works and a lot of times it does not work, and there does not seem to be a pattern to it at all. It even sometimes reads full bars on 3G but if you try to access anything it has no internet connectivity. If you try to make a call it just fails.
I have reset my whole phone undated all the software on the phone and iTunes. I used my SIM card with a friends 3GS phone and it worked fine. Called tech help for Rogers and they could not narrow it down but they thought it was a problem with the towers. But based on process of elimination its the phone my guess is the software of the 3G antenna. Unless someone has a solution (and it does not seem like it by reading these forums) there is no other solution other then get a new phone.

  • Group Names Do Not Appear on iPhone

Yesterday, an anomaly occurred on my iPhone 3G (version 3.1.3) regarding accessing Contacts. When I would press the Contacts button, all I could get would be the list of contacts in one of my Groups. I could not access the pages showing ALL contacts, nor could I even move off page of that one Group, which was the latest Group I had accessed. I was confined into seeing only Group's contacts.
On the theory that the Contacts software on the iPhone got corrupted, I went through all the trouble-shooting steps recommended by David Pogue in his book, iPhone: The Missing Manual, including resetting the iPhone's settings, and eventually doing a complete restore of my iPhone's firmware and software via iTunes.
The restoration fixed one problem, but there seems to be another problem with Contacts that I do not understand. After the restoration, I can now access the complete list of my individual contacts. That's a good thing. But when I click the button to move to the Groups page, the Groups page is blank, even though my Address Book has about ten groups that it should be sending to MobileMe for syncing.
As a test to force a change in my Calendar, my Contacts and my Groups lists, I added a new event, a new "test" contact, and two new "test" groups. Then I synced up my computer with MobileMe. The new names for the test groups show up fine on the MobileMe website, so syncing from my computer to the web is working OK. But, while the new event and the new contact show up fine on the iphone, the Groups page on the iPhone still is blank.
Anyone have an insight into this problem? Am I overlooking something here? Or has something gone buggy on my iPhone?

While waiting for a reply, I telephoned the local Apple Store, and I explained the problem, asking if I could get help over the phone, or if I had to bring my phone in. The person I spoke with was most helpful, and she solved my problem over the phone.
She explained that, when an iPhone is restored via the backup saved by iTunes to the source computer, the restoration process does not bring an iPhone back to its exact previous state all by itself. In my case, even though some syncing was occurring via my MobileMe account, I needed to add that account back onto my iPhone via the Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > MobileMe commands.
As soon as I had completed adding my MobileMe account email address and password, full syncing privileges were restored. The Groups page, showing all of my Group Names, together with the right-arrows leading to the contacts in each group, are now correctly showing up again.
I do not know what may have happened yesterday to cause the glitch, but the restoration of my iPhone via iTunes, and the adding back of my MobileMe account registration information, has solved the problem.

Using vbscript, I have no idea. The attribute name on a group that you
are likely after is 'member' and I can definitely query it in my setup.
Can you see the member attribute logging in with your user when using a
standard LDAP Browser like Apache Directory Studio? If not then perhaps
there is no value for that attribute on those objects, or perhaps you lack
rights. Will vbscript let you directly print out an array? Have you
verified that the array of values has a non-zero length based on your output?
Out of curiosity, any reason you are limiting yourself to vbscript? Does
ADODB work for directories (like eDirectory or other LDAP environments) as
well as databases? Has this worked in the past?
    Good luck.

  • TomTom iPhone mount, external GPS and Navigation

I have TomTom's Western Europe nav app on my iPhone and the TomTom car kit, but when I used it the GPS seemed jumpy, as in it kept wandering onto neighbouring roads and then randomly... I've done a restore of the phone and it uses the latest software versions....
So I downloaded the TomTom Car Kit app which allows you to see the GPS status of the mount and even after 30 mins outside with a clear view of the sky not a single satellite was detected by the mount.
    Anyone else seen this problem?
    TIA

Nope. I have the same as you but no issues.

Well you've done a what's necessary. I would delete the TomTom app and redownload it. If that fails I would assume that the mount is MIA and try to get it swapped.

  • Tom Tom iPhone mount charger question + Article about Tom Tom app details

    Hello, all.
First off, here's a handy article posted two days ago from PC World explaining quite a bit more about the Tom Tom iPhone app straight from the horse's mouth so to speak:
    http://www.pcworld.com/article/167906/tomtomforiphone.html
The article states that the Car Kit's "power cable plugs into your car's accessory jack or any USB power source and charges your iPhone while docked."
Here's my question: Since there's no release date in sight for the app and Car Kit, I want to buy a car charger for my iPhone. Would the smartest thing be to buy a charger whose USB cord is separate from the cigarette lighter adapter? That way, buying a charger now won't be a complete waste of money since I could still use the adapter with the Car Kit when it comes out. If I'm understanding that excerpt correctly, it sounds like the Car Kit won't include a built-in cigarette lighter adapter connected to the mounting dock.
Maybe it's too soon to know for sure since the details seem sketchy but I want to get a car charger in the meantime but will hold off if it turns out it will be useless once the Car Kit comes out. Thanks.

Not that I know of but you can opt in for updates at the [TomTom for iPhone|http://iphone.tomtom.com> page..

  • Trying to send to an existing group mail on the ipad or iphone

On my imac I use a group in address book to quickly send emails to 60 customers.
The group exists on my ipad but I when I type in the group name nothing happens.
I asked in the Apple store but when they tried the same thing using an iphone-- same problem.
It seems this capability has been omitted or am I not doing something correctly.
If it has been omitted please put in the next update.

MailShot does work fine and, unlike most others, creates the groups in Mail and works from that app Instead of from a separate and dedicated one. It actually does about the same thing that you have to do to create group equivalents in MobileMe Mail, which also doesn't play with groups. Apple's reasoning here is consistent, if obscure.
It's a bit tedious to set the groups up in the app, and it just barely misses being able to jigger around your existing groups so that they can be used as is. And, of course, you have to upgrade if you need more than three groups.
