Group iMessage Issues?

Is anyone else having issues with iMessage in iOS 8? Here are the problems I am having:
- Some group messages are sent as iMessages and some are not, even though everyone in the group has an iPhone
- Group messages are randomly adding or removing participants, even though no one in the group added or deleted the individual.
- The names at the top of the message, do not always reflect who the group is being communicated with.
Any thoughts on what may be causing the issues? It is rather frustrating for those involved in the communications.

I've seen all of these things, and just recently now some of the group message members are not receiving all of the messages, so they're left unsure what people are responding to if they missed the messages before. A nice feature.
I was however able to confirm that it is does not seem to be related to iOS 8.xx since users running iOS 7.1.2 are missing some of these messages too.

Apple support asked me to reset my settings to fix my iMessage issue and not my iPhone is stuck in reset mode.  It won't sync with my iTunes and it won't allow me to move past that reset screen to even use my phone.

Anyone out there have this issue, I'd really love some help/guidance.
Everytime I restart, force quit mail, restart in safe mode, and regular mode, when I reopen the Mail application, it goes right to the Upgrade Mail database screen and goes right back to the same spot it has been since I downloaded Mountain Lion and initislly opened the Mail app. It only goes to the Upgrade option, or can quit and Upgrade later. It is stuck in the middle of the Upgrade of my mail database...this blows!!!

  • Receiving group iMessages in email inbox

I keep receiving group imessages through my email inbox  thats the same as my apple id email

    Greetings cooltj64,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with iMessages being received via email. It explains how to change where and how your messages are received:
iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage - Apple Support
On iOS devices, find out which addresses are enabled with FaceTime and iMessage by tapping:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached by iMessage at:
Settings > FaceTime > You can be reached by FaceTime at:

  • Group imessage breakdown

    Hi,
First time we have had a problem with group imessages. Does not seem to be a relevant community to post this to?
    Group messages are breaking down.
Initial 6 in group imessage worked well for months.
One of the guys tried to start a group with 5 today (missing 1 person who didin't want to be in the convo) and then all **** broke loose.
We got some messages individually some but only by some people. Some messages got sent to others.
A small group started of 4 messages coming through but couldn't send out.
I tried to start the group with 5 aswell (same 5) no messages getting through it appears. broken aswell.
Looks like apple did something in the background and it be broke!!
It really isn't very friendly to complex group messages compared to facebook group msgs... hope it gets sorted out in ios8.
    Regards,
    Reuben

Yes the members of the group will see the other phone numbers

    Hi RumplestilskinToo!
You may need to check and make sure that your Group Messaging setting is turned on:
    Messages settings - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iphf2d853e3
Go to Settings > Messages to set options for Messages, including:
    Turning iMessage on or off
Notifying others when you’ve read their messages
Specifying an Apple ID or email address to use with Messages
    SMS and MMS options
Turning group messaging on or off
    Showing the Subject field
    Showing the character count

  • IMessage issue: Changed password for my Apple ID this morning and now my iMessage is sending through my email?

iMessage issue: Changed password for my Apple ID this morning and now my iMessage is sending through my email instead of my number and I haven't been receiving any texts through iMessage! I read the article, followed the steps, and it did not fix the problem. Help?

    Hello!
On all of these devices, go to: Settings > iCloud and make sure they're updated with the new password. If you're talking about Macs, go to: "System Preferences > iCloud" too.

  • I can't send group iMessages since upgrading to iOS 7.0.6

Pretty much as it says in the title, I upgraded my software a couple of nights ago and now I can't send group iMessages. I can send iMessages to individuals still just not in groups.

Thanks for the reply. Found out it was a problem at the end of one of the recipients in the group text as it was blocking messages from my number even though he hadn't blocked it. To get round it he deleted my number an put it in his phone again, had no problems since

  • TS2755 I cannot send GROUP imessage!

    Hi,
I just recently got a new iPhone 4S from the apple store because my last one wouldn't send or receive messages. I had been having trouble with the group message function with the last one, but I thought this would be fixed with the new device.
For some reason everytime I try to send a group message, it just hangs there and totally freezes up my device. I will let it sit for 25-45 minutes and nothing will happen. I have to hard reboot my phone in order to free up the connection.
I have no problem receiving group imessages, but cannot send them.
i have tried the reset to factor, I have toggled iMessage on and off several times, but nothing seems to work.
If anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it.
My whole team at work uses group iMessage and I can't participate.
    Thanks.

I don't see an option for group messaging
settings > messages . (only gives, Imessage - on/off, send read receipts, send as sms, send and receive, mms, show subject field an character count).

  • To enable filtering the Purchase Orders based on Purchasing Group in Issue

    Hi All,
    We are facing one issue
Currently we are working with Extended Classic Scenario with SRM 5.0 and support pack 11
If the buyer uses Issue PO transaction in SRM, there are POs from all the buyers.
There is no filter to allow the buyer to display only POs relevant for his/her Purchasing group.
To enable filtering the Purchase Orders based on Purchasing Group in Issue Purchase Order transction, we found one
OSS note : 1162884 - BBP_PPF: Purchasing group as search criteria for PO
But we found that this oss note is not applicable for our system version
Could you please help me to resolve this issue by any suggestion or by any other oss note?
    Thanks
    Snehal

    Hi Snehal,
There is a easy way to do that.
Go to buyer role in PFCG transaction and look for profile and go inside profile ...look for your transaction...
for Process PO  transaction -  BBP_PD_PO and you have field BBP_PURGRP...using which you can restrict it on purchasing group..
You may have to copy same role and create new roles based on purchasing group..
I feel that basis or Security and Authorization team can help you in this matter.
    Regards,Nishant

  • Group iMessaging on the iPad

I'm unable to received Group iMessaging on the iPad but I can received on my iPhone

This was driving me nuts as well.  Try creating a contact and enter all email addresses under a single email field in the following format:
    [email protected],<[email protected]>,<[email protected]>,<[email protected]>,<[email protected]>,<[email protected]>,<[email protected]
It worked for me.  important to note you don't have a < or a > at the beginning or end respectively.  Just on the addresses in between.
    good luck.

  • Not receiving group iMessages/texts

First off - i know there have been lots of threads similar to this.  I've looked through those and tried the suggestions, but to no avail. I'm still left with the same issue.
I've switched back and forth between my iPhone and Android phones for a couple of years or so and never had any issues with iMessage - until iOS 7.0.3.
Since 7.0.3 i have not been able to receive any iMessages/Texts from friends while in a group chat on my Android device.  I can send them and my friends receive them, but i cannot receive from them.  I get individual texts/iMessages fine, just not group and only when it's from an iPhone.  I am able to receive group messages from Blackberry, Android and Windows devices.
The catch.  I gave up on iPhone and officially jumped ship to the Moto X before 7.0.3 was released and i COULD get group texts before 7.0.3.
Here is what has been done.  BEFORE switching to the Moto X, i deactivated iMessage on my iPhone AND on both of my iPad's.  I made sure to also uncheck the phone number and my email addresses BEFORE deactiviating iMessage.  Also did the same with Facetime (not sure if that matters or not).
I have unregistered the iPhone from my Apple profile/support account.
I have deleted all iPhone numbers from my iCloud contacts.
I have tried 4 different Android messaging applications.
I have the correct settings in Android.
I have called Apple and had them remove my phone number from iMessage.
I have made sure that my friends (one is actually my wife so i even did it myself on her phone) have it set to send SMS if iMessage is not available.
I have deleted my contact from my wife's phone, my wife's iPad and my wife's iCloud and then set it up again (as a mobile and not as an iPhone).
I've even called Verizon and Motorola both who believe, as do i, that this is an Apple issue since it only started when my friends installed 7.0.3.
I've ran out of ideas, and ran out of places to go since Apple's support only had the one suggestion which was for them to remove the phone number from iMessage.
I'm open to anything (except going back to iPhone since that would mean i need to splash out on a new phone again).  However, i do have an iPhone 4 in my house that i could use if need to TEMPORARILY activate to do something else.

I left words out while i was typing in a hurry.
I was saying that the friends of mine who are using the iPhone, have told me that other Android users that they group chat with, are also unable to receive group messages from them.
I think i have been able to narrow the issue down, after spending more time with Apple and with Verizon.  Verizon had me text STOP to an Apple Short Code, which resulted in about 40 texts from my wife being delivered via the open group chat that we have with our friends.
To test that this resolved my issue, Verizon initiated a group chat from two test iPhones, which also resulted in success.  I was also able to successfully group chat with 6 other groups of friends all with iPhones.  I did the same test with a mix of Android and iPhone users too, with success.
Where it failed, was with the original couple.  I am still unable to receive group chats from them, while my wife, who is in the same chat, does receive them.  I do however, get the texts from my wife in that group chat.  Very strange. So i am thinking it is something with their devices and not the fact that i switched from Apple to Android.
The progress today, after a few weeks of frustration is that i can now receive group chats from everybody i would regularly text with (android or iphone users), except this two people, who happen to be the one's i group chat with the most.  They are iPhone 4s users on Sprint.

  • Group Message Issues

While using Google Hangouts on my Moto X I do not receive groups messages from certain people. However, I do receive messages from that person in a one to one message. I just recently switched from an iPhone 4 in December 2013 and have been having this issue ever since. I have tried to unregister my number from iMessage and Apple and that seemed to work for all but one person. This is driving me crazy. I love my Moto X but may have to switch back to my old iPhone to fix this problem. Please Help.

        Hi twelch1107,
I'd like to assist you with this concern. Are the people you are not able to receive the group messages from using iMessaging? Which OS or mobile app version are you using? If you are running Android 4.4 KitKat®, or higher, follow these steps to turn on SMS. Open the Hangouts app, go to Settings > SMS > and touch SMS Disabled to make Hangouts your primary text messaging app.

  • Group texting  issues

My IPhone friends have all checked the appropriate SMS boxes in IMessage but I still dont see the replies to group messages.  What can I do to fix this??

    Agah,
Help has arrived! When did this issue begin? Have the iPhone users attempted to disable the iMessage feature and test again? Are they still able to receive your responses to them? Are they receiving any error messages when sending a group text?

  • Group iMessage: separate threads for delivery

When I group message two of my friends through iMessage, their responses are delivered to me separately. They seem to be receiving all of the messages in one unified thread, but mine have been separated. So I get two separate boxes, both labeled "Jane and John," but Jane's responses show up in one and John's show up in the other. How can I fix this so that their responses become unified? I've tried deleting both threads, but then they show up separately again when they write to me.

The issue I had was with my partners phone. It was sending from her email which was splitting the message thread if she sent messages that came through as SMS rather than iMessage. So I had 2 split conversations running.
Its a simple fix on iPhone...
Goto.....Settings, Messages, Receive at, sign out of your apple ID.
    Thats it.
If when you go in there and you are signed in you will see "You can be reached for messages at:"
If you are signed in it will use your email by default rather than your phone number. Signing out refers it back onto your number instead. Now all messages are from the one sender.
    Hope this helps.
    Cadley.
