Group messages members limitations.

Is their any limitations for adding group members in messages app in ios8?
After 33 members its not displaying the option to add some more members.Meesages

A couple of things to check - are you using the full 10-digit numbers for every contact? Is there a common factor in the players it is leaving out? (Same carrier, type of phone....) Are you using a signature?
Could the players who are not getting your messages have blocks or parental controls on their phones? Is it messages sent a certain times of the day? Is it always the same players not getting the messages?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to narrow down the possibilities and figure out why it's not going to certain phones....

  • Group messaging STILL limited!

I am still having trouble with AT&T as they STILL have a limit on group messaging capped at 10.  I do not believe that it is their job to try to "limit" my spam messages.  if that was the only reason, then it could easily be capped at 50 contacts, which would still cause problems for spammers.Clearly this has been an issue for a very long time with your users (read the community board) and AT&T has done little to remedy the situation beyond offering other apps to use.  I would like to know that the powers that be at AT&T are looking into this problem and not ignoring it.  It seems as though many users are planning on switching carriers over this relatively small issue.

I'm on the iphone 4s and started experiencing similar problems after updating to 7.03. I can group iMessage to other iphone users with no problem. The problem exist when I include a non-iphone user, ie Android, into the group. Everyone (iphone & andriod) receives my txt but when they reply back, I don't receive any txt at all (including txt from the iphone users). They'll think I'm receiving but just not replying until someone calls me. Everything works as expected when I individually txt people (iMessage & SMS) on either iphone or android platforms.
I believe this problem exist on an individual basis and not on a mass scale - at least not yet.
In one of my research, a friend (iphone 4s on Verizon) sent a group SMS to me (iphone 4s on AT&T) and one other person (android on AT&T). The sender, on Verizon, was able to recieve and reply back to the android user as expected, whereas I did not receive anything, not even the initial SMS message.
This led me to think maybe its an AT&T issue, so I started a new group SMS to an iphone 4 user who's on AT&T and an android user also on AT&T. They both got my initial txt. They were able to send and recieve to the group with no problem. I on the other hand, did not get any txt back from the group after my inital message. It seems like when I'm going through SMS instead of iMessage during a group txt, I can send but can not receive. This really mess up all the group SMS alerts I usually receive during the day.
I have relaunched iMessage and reset my Network settings and still the problem exist. My next option is to reset the phone, which I'm not looking forward to.

    Hey Grupo Castillo,
Thanks for the question. You can actually configure this behavior from Mail preferences:
    1. Choose Preferences from the Mail menu.
    2. Click Composing.
    3. Deselect the checkbox for "When sending to a group, show all member addresses".
When you send an email to the group, only the groups name will be seen.

  • Can't edit members of my group message?  4S / iOS 8.1

Up to date iPhone 4S user. I can add people to a group message, but if I go to details and swipe to delete on a name nothing happens...I can't seem to delete a user from the chat. (a friend asked to be removed from a particular group) Also to see if it was just that one chat, I started a test group message and can't seem to remove users from that one as well. If I delete the group completely will the other members be removed as well or will my friend continue receiving messages?
This is frustrating...is this because someone in the group message is using an older phone or iOS?

    Howdy syafiqahmad,
If your iMessage and FaceTime still hasn't activated by now, I would recommend you use this specific section of the following article as long as you verify you've done all the other troubleshooting from it for this issue:
If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime
If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can receive SMS messages.
    Contact Apple Support.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,

  • How many people can I text in a single group message

how many people can I text in a single group message on an iphone 5
I am being limited to only 10 people or phone numbers currently.  I am on the AT&T service also.

    Hi there,
You can text as many people as you want at once on the iPhone 5!
Bonus: If you want to send everyone a message without each person knowing who else received the message, you can go to Settings > Messages and turn Group Messaging to OFF. Each recipient will receive an individual message.

  • Group messaging in iOS 7

Ok so ever since I got my new iphone 5s my iMessage/text messaging has been really weird. My group messaging is not working right. Instead of getting a group message, I get messages individually from each group member. So you can't even tell its a group message. It just looks like a bunch of random texts from different people. I don't get why it's doing this??
I looked in my settings under messages and I have iMessage turned on, SMS message on, group message on. Pretty much everything is on but it's still not working. Also it may be worth noting that everyone from the group message all have iPhones so it's all through imessage.
Any thoughts as to how to fix this??? It's driving me crazy!

I have seen a number of posts from different locations regarding the Group Messaging question. I am with AT&T in the US and have an iPhone 4s with iOS 7.0.3. I do not use Group Messaging very often and have always had the button in the off position. I have sent a couple of short group messages in the last week, and see all responses from all members of the group. You asked for a picture so here you go. This is located under Settings>Messages.

  • Group Messaging Help!!

Ok so I recently got an iPhone 4s and I'm having trouble with the group messaging system. On my old phone (HTC 7 Pro, windows phone) I would keep getting individual messages from people in a group text that I have been added in. The only difference in the message was it always said, NEW MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE whenever someone in the group sent something. I would think that once I got an iPhone these issues would disappear, unfortunatly the didn't.
On my new iPhone, it got the old group message I was in correct (the one I was added on with my old phone), but once again, whenever someone creates a new group text and adds me to it, I get the seperate messages which say MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE. I can create group messages and have them work as intended but when someone else creates it and adds me to it, I can't do anything.
This is quite annoying because I can't send anything in the group text at all since it never registers me in the group text. I can only read the messages sent but in the messages folder, it always puts the group message from someone into the single contact message but states NEW MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE.
Any help would be much appreciated!! FYI I have MMS messaging and group messaging enabled. I have imessage enabled and SMS messaging enabled. I turned off read receipts. Only thing that might hinder my chance at it registering the group message would be that I didn't have group messaging enabled when I was added to the group message but I've later turned it on. Plus one of my family members says that they didn't have group messaging enabled but they still receive them correctly.

I should mention that the person who created this group chat has an android phone but everyone else in the group chat has an iPhone. Everyone in the group chat says this group messaging works fine but I seem to be the only one with the problem. All I want is for this to work like a normal group chat so I can see all the responses in one group and be able to reply so that all can see.
If I reply to the individual contact where I got the group message, it automatically converts that to whatever form of messaging needed and only sends that person the text.

  • Ios8 not receiving messages from a member of a group message

I have a recurring group message with some of my friends. When I updated to iOS8 I stopped receiving messages from one of the members of the group, but everyone else is still receiving them. When I text just that group member though, I receive her messages.  How do I fix that?

You have both gone into your iMessage settings and made certain that the phone numbers are correct as well as your Apple ID, and email address?

  • Group message with 15 different people?

[Topic title updated by moderator to be more descriptive. Original topic title was: "group message"]
Is it possible to have group message with 15 different people?

Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
You can have group chat conversations with up to 300 members. You can get the member count by using the "/info" chat command in a chat.
Additionally you can have group video calls with up to 25 participants. Make sure you have enough internet bandwidth and a strong CPU for that though.

Which is the command to use to list all email aliases/groups and members on the mail server.Email aliases/groups can exist in text files in the configuration directory of Messaging Server or be defined in the LDAP Directory Server. You can use the "commadmin group search" command to list the ldap groups (if you have Delegated Administration installed/configured), otherwise you can use a directory ldapsearch to find the groups.

  • HT201287 Can I set up a group message and have myself to be the only one to get responses

I often send group messages about where the group will be going to dinner, or what time an event will be held. I am the only one who needs to get responses to the group message, but everyone in the group gets all responses which is aggravating to most of the group members. Is there a way to send a group message, with me being the only one to receive responses?

Not through the built in Messages app. There may be other group messaging apps that would allow you to do that. However, everyone you message would need to have he same app installed.

  • Can send group message but stopped receiving

yesterday I was sending and receiving group messages just fine. All of a sudden I stopped receiving the messages even though I could still send them. (this was just in one group). My other group works perfect-can send and receive.
    Any help?

The group message problem doesn't seem limited to mixed groups. Twice today I have been unable to originate or reply to iPhone group messages with only two recipients. Single individual messages seem to be no problem. This is one a two day old iPhone 6.

  • Cannot send texts in a group message.

My son's 4S does not allow him to reply to texts in a specific text message group.  It gives him the message "Not Delivered" when he tries.  He needs to be able to participate in this group and we cannot figure out where the problem lies. He is able to participate in other groups so not sure why this one is causing problems.  Any advice would be appreciated!
This phone is running i0S 7

Does he have a text messaging plan from the carrier? Do you have MMS activated? Do you have cellular data turned on? Do you have Group messages turned on? If any of the members of the group are non-iPhone users, then the message becomes an SMS/MMS, and you have to have to have a SMS/MMS texting plan for your device. Check his plan with the carrier.
