Group Messages Split Into Seperate Group Messages

Problem:
Somehow my group messages are being split into seperate group messages. What is causing this?
Examples:
Example #1: I sent a message to my Mom, Dad, & Sister, which shows in my phone as a single group message. Mom & Dad have android, Sister has Iphone. When they reply, a new group message appears, which includes all of them, and each of their replys, but not my original message. So I end up with two seperate group messages.
Example #2: My friend Alex sends out a group text to me, and eight other people and it shows as one group message in my phone (Mix of Iphones and others). My friend Drew then replys and in my phone I now see two seperate group messages, but he does not. I then reply to Drews new group message, and now he sees two group messages.
Note: In each of these examples, all the same people appear in the message, so it is still a group message, BUT when looking at the different group messages that are created, the names of the people are in a different order.

Iphone 6 Plus, Version 8.0, Network: AT&T,
Note: It also would do this with my old Iphone 4S, unfortunately I can't remember when it started to do this, whether it was after an upgrade etc...
Message Settings:
iMessage = On,
Send Read Receipts = Off,
Send as SMS (when MMS not available) = On,
Send & Receive = 3 Addresses, My Phone & 2 x Emails
MMS Messaging = On,
Group Messaging = On,
Show Subject Field = Off
Character Count = Off

Masters in a custom Theme split into two groups for no reason

I created a custom theme.
The problem is that when I select it and click on Masters, I see my Master slides split into two groups.
This is annoying.

same thing happening to me. in fact.. it seems like every slide i create...causes another instance of masters to be created. even though it's all the same theme.

Grouped data being split into single groups.

I’m using DIAdem 10.0 and LabView 8.2. Trying to simulate a multi channel DAQ system, saving data as tdms. When using DIAdem Data Portal to load tdms data, the data come is as 1 Group (multi channels in one group) but when I use LabView and DIAdem to open / read / create report the data is loaded into DIAdem as multiple groups. One can use the LabView examples to reproduce this issue. Can someone help with some code that will open / read / create reports that keeps multi channel data as a single group? This will make it much easier to create a tdr template for multi page reports.

Hey Zilla,
The issue you are mentioning is expected behavior for the Express Report VI. This VI was created primarily for customers that wanted to create a report on the fly when streaming data. It does not work as well when using multi page report templates. I would recommend downloading and installing the DIAdem connectivity VIs which I have linked below. When you install these VIs, there will be a DIAdem palette that shows up under the connectivity palette within LabVIEW. In this palette is an express VI that I think will work better for you. The DIAdem connectivity VIs in general are very powerful and allow many options. You can run scripts within DIAdem from LabVIEW, export to PDF, and do several other things. I have posted an example below that should provide similar functionality to the Report VI, but it will work as you would expect with multi page reports. You will have to install the DIAdem connectivity VIs before running this example. Hope this helps!

Source message split into 2 orders - 2nd order populating wrong values

Hi Friends,
I have an issue related to X12 to Orders, X12 file is processed and split into 2 orders/idocs,
1 idoc is outputing the right values, however the 2nd idoc is extracting all wrong values.
According to my observation, there are no values coming in for couple of E1EDKT1 segments (for the second idoc, fyi, there are multiple E1EDKT1 segments with different values).
it seems that values coming after these segments are extracted and filled to these segments. i can see 2 upward shifts in the output.
Any idea how to resolve this issue, i have tried using map with default, split by value, collapse context, remove contexts etc.

Use mapwithdefault function with a blank character for all the target nodes which ever you think might not get a value from the source. You will see the right results.

Message Split - single receiver- New Message ID

Hi,
I am trying a message split to a single receiver. But I want to have multiple line items in sxmb_moni with different Message IDs. So that if there is a failure of the message, through the triggered alert, I would be able to submit that single message.
P.S: I am trying to avoid BPM.

Hi,
If you are avoiding BPM..then it means Splitting fill take place in Adapter Engine( for correspnding adapters).
So if message fails in AE that it is possible to restart/resubmit that failed message (splittted message).

Editing a message, splitting into several parts, adding attachment to a part

I feel stupid.
I just started a discussion with the intention of splitting my post into several parts, but it seems that I can't do that unless I "comment" on my first post. This would be OK, except that I cannot seem to be able to insert anything to these comments but images and urls. I want to attach a zip file, but I have no button to do so. The "Add Attachment" button at the bottom of the message window is appearing only for NEW POSTS (such as this one)!
Third, I can't seem to be able to edit my post which was submitted a minute ago.

I would recommend composing and refining the idea/reply offline.
Personally, I think the edit time window should be extended, but I am not sure how long it should be. It probably should not be infinite to avoid race conditions. For example if there is already an extensive discussion of the current versiont and then the idea suddenly changes 180 degrees, none of the replies would make sense anymore and people even might want to revoke their kudos. Note that I often quote the existing post (as above!) to (1) make it clear what I am replying to and (2) to keep the answer clear even if you would have edited the above sentences into something completely different in the meantime.
Historically, I think the edit window was forced to be very short to allow reasonable syncing with the newsgroup mirrors (e.g. LabVIEW forum vs. comp.lang.labview), but this is no longer an issue. What would be reasonable? 1 hour? 1 day?
Should existing repliers be notified of edit changes?
For longer edit windows, we might also need an versioning control mechanism (e.g. like in wikipedia). where older version can be inspected by the public.
Minor edits can be done by the moderator at any time. This should be reserved for simple mistakes (e.g. forgetting a "not", inverting the actual meaning, or changes in the title to make it clearer.)
In general, I agree that things can be improved. We just need to find the sweet spot.

Contacts of same alphabet split into two groups

So it doesn't matter whether my contacts are sort by last name or first name.
My contacts list appears to have two groups of alphabet A-Z and then another group of contacts A-Z follow after.
So it would look like

If the Podcast producer has changed the storage location of the files (the host site), then any new Podcast episodes will appear as a separate Podcast because they are from a separate "Podcast feed".

Songs from same album splitting into seperate albums

I have had this problem a few times and have been able to work through it, until now. I have ripped albums onto itunes and had themshow up as 2 or 3 different albums of the same name on in the album art viewer on itunes. Last night I did a Trans-Siberian orchestra album and it did the same thing. I would select all the songs and change the album name to the same one on the ID3 tag, but they would still show as 2 albums- both named the same. It would put 13 songs in 1 album and 4 in another every time. I finally went in and named each info block except song title exactly the same and it finally seemed to take. I itunes i finally got it to show up as 1 album. Here's the catch-- when I exported it to Ipod the stupid thing split the songs up into 3 (!!) albums on the cover art viewer and listed them under the artist that way too. And each of the displayed albums are named EXACTLY the same- no difference in Caps or anything. Anyone have any Ideas?

The trailing space is the hardest to spot.
Best way to cure this is to go into iTunes, highlight that artist and/or songs, right click on them and select "get info".
This brings up the multiple song info window. If you see the "artist" field is left blank, then there is a discrepancy with that name.
If the above is not the issue, try this also. Highlight all the songs for that artist, right click on them and select "apply sort field/same artist".

How to group measurement data into different groups using TDMs

Hi, frnds!
I have designed a labview program for measuring the power current characteristics of a laser diode. I want to save the current and power arrays measured at different temperatures in different groups. I tried to implement this but I was not successful. The current and power measurements at different temperatures are being saved only in the first group and the rest are being empty! Please help me save the measurements in different temperature groups.
I need this urgently!

Perhaps a snippet of the code you are using would help. When you write to the TDMS file with the low level functions, you just need to specify the separate group names. Have you read over the NI TDMS File Format, Introduction to LabVIEW TDM Streaming VIs, and Writing TDM and TDMS files articles? Have you tried any examples out of the Example Finder?

Hi,
I get an idoc from sap through change pointers. The IDOC needs to be mapped via a mapping program which splits into three different messages.
Let me know how to achieve it.
Some notable info are that the the three messages have different flat structures.

At runtime, the individual messages (for the individual items) are calculated in the mapping step. First, the individual messages are grouped into a bulk message. Then, the bulk message is transferred to the Adapter Engine. The Adapter Engine then splits the bulk message up into the individual messages
The header of the individual messages contains the relevant receiver interface. It is based on the definition of the multi-mapping. Note that the receiver interfaces of the individual messages may be different. The receiver interface of the bulk message is always InterfaceCollection (namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System).
If the message split only results in one message, the original message structure remains the same. In this case, a bulk message containing just one individual message is not created.

I think you did not get the point.When I map it just in the simple way it will look like this:

I will have 10 rows in output (I want to have just 5 and in this way M1-1,2; M2-3,4,5).

Message split questions

Hi Guys!
First I need a confirmation for following assumption:
To create multiple messages of same type (without BPM) I set the inbound interface to 0..unbounded in the if-mapping and I also set the target message to 0..unbounded in the message mapping. If I want to create one message per let's say "ITEM", I map ITEM to the root node of the target message and there will be one message per ITEM. Is that right?
Then I have a question concerning the processing order:
Are the messages processed in the order they appear in the message mapping?
Last question:
Does the message split within the if-/ message mapping also work with synchronous processes and with jdbc adapter?

In anwsering your first question, it is 1:N multi-mapping scenario, noticed that your target message is just single type.
1. In your message mapping, go to "message" tab, change your target message to 0:unbounded
2. In you Interface mapping, change to inbound interface to 0:unbounded, mapping program need to be specify your message mapping
3. In your message mapping, you want each 'ITEM" in your source message to generate each target message:
you need to map: ITEM ---> Target_Message_Type.

I have an issue while using multi- mapping runtime in PI 7.1. The messages work successfully in Operation mapping. However, during runtime it fails with the message "Split mapping created no messages".
The issue is the same as we have in the below link :-

But there is a slight difference in the scenario. Please find the same below:-
There were initially two mappings in the operation mapping.
The first one is a shared mapping and 1:1 to 1:1 occurence
The second one is a new mapping which should have 0:unbounded to 0:unbounded containing 4 different message types at the target
Due to the first mapping being shared, and already in production, we can not do any updates on it. Hence a workaround was to add a Java mapping in between the two mappings simply to add the Message - Message 1 header as for multimapping.
This works in ESR but not during runtime or test configuration.
Please let me know if this is the wrong perspective to it. I understand that the final solution can be to simply split all messages and have four different mappings in the Interface determination itself. But i would really like to know why this adding of message- message1 header is not possible.
