Group messaging option missing ios7

Hey all I am running iOS7 on a iphone 5. I keep getting messaged from people with group messaging option turned on. And it gives me a single message to reply to only the person that sent it while all other folks are able to send and receive it the rest of the conversation. So my dilemma is this; that the option to enable group messaging is flat out missing from my settings -> messages. Any idea what could be causing this or how to fix it?
Thanks,

Secondly I stand corrected just looked at her phone also and she can send them to multiple people but we both can not see it as a group conversation.

    Hi t.romano91,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
I'm not sure why you had to manually enter your contact information, but if you created and turned on your iCloud account, the information should be there.
The link below will give you a general overview of iCloud, and how to look at your contacts:
    iCloud Help: Contacts overview
I've also included the User Guide for the iPhone below to help you get started ...
Please note that the Contacts App (looks like a brown address book) is located inside the Utilties folder on your home screen.  Press and hold the Utilities folder and it will jiggle.  Then drag the Contacts App out onto the home screen for easier access. (see page 20 of the guide below).

Page 100 - 102 explains how the Contacts feature works.
    Enjoy your new iPhone!
    Have a great day!

  • I had the group messaging option on my phone last week, restored my phone to an old back up and it's gone! How do i get it back!?

Help! I had the group messaging option on my iphone 4S but restored my phone to an old back up and since then the group messaging option has disappeared - how do i get it back?

"If VoiceOver is on and the screen is black, but you can still use the device by pressing volume up and volume down, you may have screen curtain on. Try triple-tapping using three fingers on the device display to turn off screen curtain. Or connect the device to iTunes"

  • No group message option in iMessage option in settings

For some reason I don't have a group messaging option under iMessage options, I'm using a 5s and running ios 7.1.1

The Group Message option is not an iMessage option, it is an MMS message option. It will disappear if you have MMS Messaging turned off. It is also possible that it could be related to your cellular carrier/plan. The following quotation is from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5760
The Group Messaging setting applies only to MMS messages.
Your wireless carrier may restrict the maximum number of recipients allowed in a group message with MMS.
Disabling Group Messaging has no effect on iMessage behavior. Responses to group iMessages are always sent to all recipients.
Group messaging with MMS requires an appropriate plan from your carrier for use on iPhone.
Carrier messaging rates may apply when using group messaging with MMS.

  • No 'group message' option

I have an iPhone 5s and iPad and I am unable to receive any group messages. Both devices are up to date and it is only recently that this has changed. In settings I do not have the 'group message' option. Any help welcome. Thanks.

Did you happen to get a carrier update when you updated your firmware? Have you contacted your carrier? SMS/MMS are carrier functions, unless you are referring to iMessage. Check with the carrier and make sure your plan supports MMS. While it may have in the past, upgrades can cause issues with your accounts.

  • Is group messaging only available in the US? I don't even have the group messaging option in my settings.

I wanted to make a group chat however when I try to create one it sends the message separately, I went to my settings to see If I had group messaging enabled then it turns out I don't even have the option. Whys this?

    iOS: Using Messages
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    iOS: Understanding group messaging
You need to be provision by your phone carrier to use MMS - then you turn MMS on and then group message - on

  • Windows 2012 Group Policy Option missing for Windows 7 Client

    Hi there,
We have a deployment with a windows 2012 DC and various Windows 7 clients.
I am trying to set up a group policy on the 2012 DC to configure the Windows 7 clients and basically disable the Aero feature.
The "Do not allow desktop composition" is the one I need to enable and this would sit under Admin Templates > Windows Components > Desktop Windows Manager.
In Windows 2012 Group Policy editor this does not show...does anyone know how I can do this to a remote Windows 7 machine from 2012 DC?
Note if it helps on a windows 7 machine you can also disable the service "Desktop Window Manager Session Manager”
to achieve the same thing BUT when looking through the Group Policy again I can’t seem to find this!!
    Thanks for any help,
    Steve

Install RSAT and edit on W7. Or copy all W7 admx/adml templates to the
    central store.

  • Group Messaging on Rogers?

I have an iPhone 4S on Rogers in Canada with the latest software update. I've seen online this Group Messaging option for SMS/MMS so that you can have group convos over text with people who don't have iPhones but that option is not available on my phone. I'm trying to figure out if it is only available in the US or if it's Rogers fault or what. I've tried calling Rogers but they were no help. Here is the feature I'm talking about: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5760
Any help or explanation would be much appreciated, thanks!

    GROUP MESSAGING ON iPHONE??
    No.
SEARCH BOX IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF YOUR SCREEN??
    Yes.
Did you really think that in the 3 months the iPhone has been out that no one else but you has wondered about this?

  • Group messages in iOS 8 updated not working on my iphone 5

i updated to the new iOS 8 this morning on my iphone 5 and now the group messaging isn't working.
no group message option in setting neither. help please.

I have this problem too - and it is on a BRAND new iPhone 6 - I have definitively tracked the issue to the moment I upgraded to iOS 8.1.2 - and am beyond frustrated. No fix to tell you about, sorry…but you can read my post here if you are into the whole "misery loves company" thing: iOS 8.1.2 Cellular data problem (Definitive - maybe)

  • Group Messages Not Working between Android and iPhone Users on iOS7

    Hi there,
I am a former iPhone user.  I recently converted both my line and my wife's line from the IPhone 5 to a Motorola X Android phone.  We kept our same phone numbers, but we completely switched from Verizon to AT&T.  I have noticed that text messaging works perfectly on an individual basis when I correspond with individuals who have the iPhone, but Group Messaging is not working correctly.  I am able to send messages to a group and they receive them just fine, but when they respond back to me, I do not receive their responses (as it appears they are going through as iMessages).  My wife is having the same issue on her phone.  After doing some detective work, I have found that hundreds of other users are having the same issues on their smartphones when they make the switch from an Apple product to an Android phone.  There are a variety of "bug fixes" listed on the web, but I have completed all of them and I am still having the same issue.  Here is what I have done so far...
*Factory reset both of our phones and removed the SIM cards (since we are with a new phone carrier)
*Changed both of our apple ID passwords
*Removed both of our phone numbers from Apple's database all together
*Unregistered both of our iPhone products with Apple
*Had all of my friends/family switch SMS to "On" in their Settings tab
So now what?  I read one post on an Apple forum that said that they are aware of the issue and we can expect a fix in a future iOS update...but when is that going to occur, if at all?  It is problems like these that led me to leave Apple all together, and here I am after having left the company, and I am still left high and dry searching for solutions to my problems.  Who can help, and how can I remedy the situation?
Anything you can provide to help out would be great.
    Thanks.

There are reports of iOS7 altering the settings on iMessage's connection to the iPhone. Verify that each of the iPhone and the Mac is receiving on the "channel" (phone number or email address) on which the other is initiating iMessages.

  • HT5760 I am not getting the Leave Conversation option in Group Messaging in iOS 8

I am not getting the "Leave Conversation" option on Group Messaging on some group messages.

    Hello tchadden,
This option is only available if there are more than three people in the group iMessage or if the group message uses MMS.
Leave this Conversation might not be available if there are only three people in the group iMessage or if the group message uses MMS.

  • Missing message option

The send as message option is missing from my photos. How do I get it back?

Bought the Curve new from AT&T the PIN function worked fine.  Receive email from my works server.  Email function works fine.  The PIN option just disappeared from the menu.  Not using the device at this time have an older Curve that works just fine.  Receive email and calendar from my works server and also have the PIN option available.

  • HT201365 Downloaded iOS7 on my 4S. Mostly went well, but sometimes screens lock up (especially text, but also Settings). Find I cannot access and send texts sometimes, plus do not receive some texts from others (group messages real problem).

Downloaded iOS7 on my 4S. Mostly went well, but sometimes screens lock up (especially text, but also Settings). Find I cannot access and send texts sometimes, plus do not receive some texts from others (group messages real problem). Any work around? And related problem: Getting told can not connect to network when trying to sign on with Apple ID to launch Facetime and Messages.

I've restarted several times. If I restore from backup, unfortunately the backup was done after iOS7 downloaded. Now, am I wrong that "restore as new" will essentially wipe me out? If so, and having backup, you're saying essentially start over and then backup?

  • "Sync Address Book Contacts" option missing all groups

I had a problem with multiple copies of contacts on my iPhone so I deselected the "Sync Address Book Contacts" box in iTunes before synching. The popup said that all contacts would be removed from the iPhone, and I clicked to proceed. When the sync was complete, I verified that all contacts had been removed from my iPhone (they were).
Then I reselected the "Sync Address Book Contacts" but noticed that all 15 of the groups from my MacBook that normally appear in the box with the All Contacts/Selected Groups button were missing. I opened Address Book and they were all there.
I did a backup of Address Book and then deleted all of my contacts on my MacBook. I quit and restarted my MacBook and then imported my Address Book backup before connecting my iPhone and trying to sync the contacts again, but again, none of the groups appeared in the window and after proceeding with the sync anyway, not a single contact went to the iPhone. I've tried it by both selecting and deselecting the Contacts box under the "Replace information on this iPhone".
    - I connected an iPod touch that didn't have any contact info to the MacBook and, as before, the groups from my address book did not show up and after synching, none of the contacts were installed on the iPod Touch, leaving me to believe that it is something iTunes related except that all of my calendars and music etc. sync without a problem.
    - I've got the latest iTunes (10.1) and Snow Leopard s/w updates.
    Any ideas?

Exported addresses from Address Book to desktop and then deleted all addresses from Address Book.
    Deleted file AddressBook-v22.ab** from Library>Application Support>AddressBook.
Exited Address Book and iTunes, restarted Address Book and imported addresses from desktop.
Restarted iTunes and all of the groups were visible in the "Synch Address Book Contacts" window.

  • Mail now missing 'load more messages' option?

I'm running iOS 4.02. Mail is set up to use Gmail via exchange synching.
Today I opened Mail and wanted to go back a few days in my Gmail account so I scrolled to the bottom where I thought there used to be the 'load more/older messages' option. Alas, it's no longer there.
Did I imagine that feature? Did google update something on their end getting rid of it?

If you are accessing your Gmail account as an Exchange account, there is an option with an Exchange account for the number of days to sync.
On your iPhone, go to Setting > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select your Gmail account.
At Mail Days to Sync, what is selected?
