I just confirmed my e-mail account, but I had to go to my very slow AOL connection since the message you guys sent me was not visible in the body of the page, just the header

Just to say there ARE lots of Apps on BlackBerry World, so potential BB purchasers should not let that stop them, and some very good free ones, excellent -- BlackBerry Travel is really good, and OsmAnd maps are fabulous, big to download, but when you get it you'll be amazed. Just download a provincial or smaller map to start, because they are huge files and very detailed, but lots of trails and paths are on them... good for park trails and such.

  • "Make proxy settings per-machine (rather than per user)" Group Policy setting not applied until login as a local Administrator

We want to deploy to all our desktop the pac file to configure proxy. We have a Windows 2008 R2 server, and i've enabled the GPO "Make proxy settings per-machine (rather than per user)", and i've add a registry key AutoConfigURL in "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Internet Settings" with the pac file link.
I've tested on my pc, and all was configured without any problem. I've try to login to my computer with another user (without admin rights) and the automatic configuration proxy was compiled and not modificable. It's seems that all works.
But, our users are not local admin, so i've tried to deploy the GPO in a collegue computer. I've forced the update of GPO, checked on registry that all new keys are added, and i've reboot the pc. When i've check on IE settings, autoconfig URL was empty and
grey. I'm disconnected from user and i've login to the pc with a local admin. With my surprise, the IE settings was compiled. When i'm come bac to the user profile the IE settings was compiled and not modificable.
The problem is: i've over 750 users in 3 countries, and i don't want grant them the local admin permissions. How can i configure proxy settings via GPO without login to every machine at least one time?

In the past, we experienced various issues with machine proxy settings,
so we don't use them anymore. The simple approach:
Block access to the connections page through ADM template settings and
deploy the proxy through GPP Internet Settings.
This is what we do (with a pac file, too), and it works well :)

  • Is there a way for my MMS message phone numbers not seen by whole group even after turning off group messaging?

I send messages to a group of people but they are all able to see each other's phone numbers and they can't tell who is sending the message because on their iphone all the numbers appear and I have turned off group messaging.  Is ther a way to prevent that from happening?

I am simply lookig for some help not an argument.  I am not an RF specialist however have setup a few wireless networks in my tenure at Wynn Resorts.  I fully agree that wireless networking is an art and a science however the powers that be in Network Land have toughted wireless networking is the easiest and quickest way to get two computers to talk with one another.  As I previously said I have already turned one (1) MBP in for this problem and Apple decided to replace it because they could not fix the problem with my particular MBP.  This MBP was running Leopard when the problems started
I am having a hard time believeing that there are several other devicces in my home that depend on a wireless network to operate and my MBP is the only one having an issue.  I took this a step further and decided to see what would happen if I tried to connect wirelessly via Fusion.  In Windows 7 I am able to print and scan to my hearts content without any issues.  I am able to browse the internet as much as I want.  I close Fusion and try to connect to my printer via wireless and nothing.
In order to get Apple to help do I need to get a Network Analyzer and capture packets when I have these problems?  Out of the 1000 + posts is there a consolidation of which answer is the best?  BTW I am accessing the internet via a wireless connection using Fusion and Windows 7.
In response to Linc's comments, I will look at the router specifications however I did not qualify that these devices are not using the wireless connection at the same time.  Right now I would guess there are maybe two (2) or three (3) at the most that are actively transmitting / receiving information. --  Thanks

  • Group Messages Not Working between Android and iPhone Users on iOS7

    Hi there,
I am a former iPhone user.  I recently converted both my line and my wife's line from the IPhone 5 to a Motorola X Android phone.  We kept our same phone numbers, but we completely switched from Verizon to AT&T.  I have noticed that text messaging works perfectly on an individual basis when I correspond with individuals who have the iPhone, but Group Messaging is not working correctly.  I am able to send messages to a group and they receive them just fine, but when they respond back to me, I do not receive their responses (as it appears they are going through as iMessages).  My wife is having the same issue on her phone.  After doing some detective work, I have found that hundreds of other users are having the same issues on their smartphones when they make the switch from an Apple product to an Android phone.  There are a variety of "bug fixes" listed on the web, but I have completed all of them and I am still having the same issue.  Here is what I have done so far...
*Factory reset both of our phones and removed the SIM cards (since we are with a new phone carrier)
*Changed both of our apple ID passwords
*Removed both of our phone numbers from Apple's database all together
*Unregistered both of our iPhone products with Apple
*Had all of my friends/family switch SMS to "On" in their Settings tab
So now what?  I read one post on an Apple forum that said that they are aware of the issue and we can expect a fix in a future iOS update...but when is that going to occur, if at all?  It is problems like these that led me to leave Apple all together, and here I am after having left the company, and I am still left high and dry searching for solutions to my problems.  Who can help, and how can I remedy the situation?
Anything you can provide to help out would be great.
    Thanks.

There are reports of iOS7 altering the settings on iMessage's connection to the iPhone. Verify that each of the iPhone and the Mac is receiving on the "channel" (phone number or email address) on which the other is initiating iMessages.

  • Group Message not working iPhone 6/ iOS 8

I am not able to receive group messages after I updated to iOS 8.0.2  I just activated my iPhone 6 about 3 weeks ago (Before the Apple pay update). It was working fine until I updated the software with the Apple Pay. Initially I thought ALL the group messages are not working. After few trials I realized it was only the case when the group included both iPhone and non-iPhone users. Groups with ALL iPhone users is working fine.
I have checked everything possible, but nothing works.
    - Turned off-on iMessages
    - Turned off-on Group messages
    - Reset Network Setting
    - Erased and Reset the Entire phone from Phone settings (Now operating on iOS8.1)- still not working
    - Called my carrier and they didn't seem to understand why I was having this problem
I then spoke with Apple Support who ran few diagnostic tests and they didn't find anything. They suggested that I re-set the phone to brand new phone (with out iCloud back-up) via iTunes (not from phone settings) and see if that will fix this. I will try this later tonight and see if I have any luck.
I tried telling customer service that I want to return my phone and get a new one- but they seemed to keep me away from that option.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, any suggestions?

  • HT4623 I have the iphone 4s and its updated to iOS 6.1.1 - Yesterday, I sent out a text to 10 people (my group messaging is set to OFF). I found out this morning that several people recieved responses from my friends/family. What can I do about this? Anyt

I have the iphone 4s and its updated (ios 6.1.1). I've always had my group messaging set to OFF. Everytime I send a text to multiple folks, I find out that they were able to see everyone elses responses to me. My boss told me this morning that she saw responses from my friends/family from a picture I sent yesterday. Is there ANYTHING that can be done about this? It's important to be able to send texts to multiple people. I have to update them alot on my husbands illness. Help!

Group messaging simply puts all replies in one conversation in Messages.   It doesn't prevent the behavior you experienced.
My suggestion which would be much easier in my opinion, is rather than do a text, send out an email and use bcc: , which will keep the audience hidden from each recipient.
Otherwise, if you're determinted to do only texts, the only way is to send your message to one person at a time.   You can of course copy/paste your msg each time which might be helpful.

  • Group messaging as SMS only

I try to send group SMS and my iphone 6 converts it into an MMS. Problem with this is that if my recipients do not have MMS set up they dont get a simple text. Also a simple text should be sent as a text only and not an MMS. I want to be able to send group messages as SMS only, not MMS. If I turn MMS off from settings, SMS are not sent at all. This is a very basic issue and it should not exist. Also I searched online and there was something about group messages setting. I have latest IOS but it does not show any such option. This is seriously frustrating.

    Dear Razmee,
My carrier offers both MMS and SMS. SMS is part of the basic package but for MMS edge is required. The issue is that not all recipients have edge enabled and also there are places in my country where there are no edge signals but sms can still be sent. I used to have an android and it allowed sending group SMS.
Then this isn't an Apple or iphone issue, but an issue with your recipients not having edge enabled, which in turn is a carrier feature.

  • Group Messaging - Can it be turned off?

Hi - I've been searching the net and have called to ask this question and am now posting this question as a last resort to try to resolve this.  Is there any way to turn off group messaging so that when you reply to a pic message / joke for example you don't send the message to everyone that got the original?
Seems hard to believe that anyone would think this is a good feature without a need to be able to pick whether you reply to the sender or to everyone on the list that you don't know (and who will ask who you are because they don't know why you send an LOL out of the blue).
Any suggestions other than simply not being able to reply to messages and instead having to create a new message so you can reply rather than reply to all?   I have yet to receive a joke or pic message where I wanted to reply to every person that got it from the person I got it from (perhaps that's just me)....

You can select the sender's name from the drop down list at the top or you can press and hold the message to reply just to the sender. But I HATE this group messaging feature. It is very easy to embarrass yourself this way unless you pay close attention to see if it is a group message or not. I don't want that extra work on every single message. I don't like it at all. I've already accidentally texted my older sister's new boyfriend that I've never met.
Also, it is kind of an invasion of privacy--I can see everyone that the message was sent to. What if the sender doesn't want me to know who all the message was sent to? These older phones don't have any kind BCC option like e-mail. I really wish they would remove this feature.

  • IOS 8 creating multiple group messages with same recipients

After updating to iOS 8.0, my iPhone 5s has started creating multiple group messages with the same recipients. For example, my phone has created three group threads with the exact same people in it. Different friends' messages go to different threads. It is terrible confusing and annoying. It has done this with several of my group messages. Deleting the duplicate threads have not worked. They keep recreating themselves when certain people text the group.
Any suggestions? This has been a problem for many of my friends as well.

    Hi hkapn,
Do you and your wife use the same Apple ID and are connected to the same wifi network?  Your phone ringing to multiple devices is called Continuity and is a feature of iOS8. https://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/continuity/
Essentially, it allows you to use your iPhone cellular connection on all of your iOS8 devices: iPhone, iPad, Mac computers with Yosemite.  On some devices the call will look like it is coming through FaceTime, but likely on your wife's iPhone it just looked like a regular call.
Since your iPhone was "hosting" the phone call through it's own cellular connection, you were able to pick it up after your wife answered, which caused your wife's phone to disconnect.  This is called Handoff and is also a feature of iOS8.
You can turn off Continuity if you'd like, but you could also look into getting your wife her own Apple ID.  I'm guessing you were sharing one so that you didn't have to make purchases twice.  Also in iOS8, there is a feature called Family Sharing which allows you to link multiple Apple IDs and share purchases (among other things).
In regards to the group text message issue, as far as I can tell, splitting group messages is NOT a feature.   I agree that there should be an answer to this already!

  • No group message option in iMessage option in settings

For some reason I don't have a group messaging option under iMessage options, I'm using a 5s and running ios 7.1.1

The Group Message option is not an iMessage option, it is an MMS message option. It will disappear if you have MMS Messaging turned off. It is also possible that it could be related to your cellular carrier/plan. The following quotation is from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5760
The Group Messaging setting applies only to MMS messages.
Your wireless carrier may restrict the maximum number of recipients allowed in a group message with MMS.
Disabling Group Messaging has no effect on iMessage behavior. Responses to group iMessages are always sent to all recipients.
Group messaging with MMS requires an appropriate plan from your carrier for use on iPhone.
Carrier messaging rates may apply when using group messaging with MMS.

  • Receiving Group Messages

I have an LG Spectrum. When receiving group text messages, they sometimes come in as a group message, and sometimes as individual messages. When they come in as individual messages, I can only see the sender as a contact, and can only reply to him/her. How can I have them all come in as a group?

    Verizon Wireless Customer Support wrote:
    londramf,
We will get to the bottom of this for you. The reason you are only able to reply individually to that contact is because their device is sending out that way. As some contacts in the group message are not all Android users or iPhone users the responses sometimes come back as a individual message. If you reply to that contact via the group message then the whole group will get it, so be sure to reply on the group message and not the individual message. There shouldn' be a problem with them viewing them.

I wish you could get to the bottom of this one for me:
When I receive a group reply, all it displays is "media content in the message" and a link to get the content. Clicking the link will generally only return the exact same message. After several repeated clicks/taps, it will sometimes display the actual content.
However, if it is the initial message in the thread, it will display correctly the first time, but not on any replies.
I'm on a Windows phone (Nokia Lumia 822), others in the group are on Android and iPhone models.

  • Group messaging in iOS 7

Ok so ever since I got my new iphone 5s my iMessage/text messaging has been really weird. My group messaging is not working right. Instead of getting a group message, I get messages individually from each group member. So you can't even tell its a group message. It just looks like a bunch of random texts from different people. I don't get why it's doing this??
I looked in my settings under messages and I have iMessage turned on, SMS message on, group message on. Pretty much everything is on but it's still not working. Also it may be worth noting that everyone from the group message all have iPhones so it's all through imessage.
Any thoughts as to how to fix this??? It's driving me crazy!

I have seen a number of posts from different locations regarding the Group Messaging question. I am with AT&T in the US and have an iPhone 4s with iOS 7.0.3. I do not use Group Messaging very often and have always had the button in the off position. I have sent a couple of short group messages in the last week, and see all responses from all members of the group. You asked for a picture so here you go. This is located under Settings>Messages.
