how do i create a group for sms i would like to send a text blast to about 20 people i just got an iphone 5.

You can create a group on Outlook, on your PC, and then sync it on your iPhone. But you will not be able to select this group as a SMS recipient. Nevertheless, you can use 3rd party apps. Easy Group is a free one to send group text quickly and easily.

Can't send MMS or Group SMS

Hopefully I can get help with this i'm pulling my hair out. I have an iPhone 4 and just recently reactivated my AT&T sim. Problem im having is I can't send my MMS or Group SMS to non iMessage phone numbers. I believe I know the problem but I don't know how to fix it. Prior to reactivating my AT&T Sim I had a RedPocket Mobile SIM in there and had to modify the APN/MMS settings on it. So I believe its my APN settings.
Also If I do a complete erase and reset but NOT restore from iCloud MMS and Group SMS works, im thinking my iCloud restore files changes the settings for my APN.
Since I have AT&T I don't have the option to access Celluar Data Netwok

See what happens if you go into Settings>Messages and turn off Show Subject Line. Also try turning off Group Messages---you'll still be able to text multiple people at once, definitely, I think it's just that the phone just doesn't thread replies as well (I'm not sure what Group Messages does, really).
I know that turning off those two settings fixed my friend on a basic Sprint phone getting my plain text messages as MMS, though I don't know whether it's one or both that causes the issue.
EDIT: Okay, based on this article, Group Messages is like a sort of multiple person chat room, so your recipients can easily reply to all. If you need that, then you can't fix the issue (though the comments show a bunch of ways that could go wrong).

But you don't need the fancy chat-room feature of Group Messages to send texts to multiple people, so it depends on what kinds of texts you are sending.

Group sms failed - which recipient?

I have the iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2. When i send a group sms and it fails to one person, how do i know which one?
I have a friend who has lost his phone, so presume its that one but how do I know?
Its the only flaw i have found on the iPhone, love everything else about it

i am with TPG they said its because of the apn settings, i have set them and it didnt work...

Try to switch the Flight Mode on and back off. Also, if phone is connected to WiFi when attempting to send a picture message of group SMS, this may also affect the connection so turn it off then try to send an MMS or group SMS. If these did not help, try below possible solution.
Turn off the Group Text feature in the Messaging app.
On the Start screen, tap on Messaging tile.
Then tap the three dots (...) in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
Open Settings.
Slide Group Text to off.
The Group Text feature attempts to keep the messages in one chat thread by using MMS, when this feature is off, your messages to a multiple people are included in a separate threads.
Failure of this feature to work though means your MMS settings are not correct. Either contacts your carrier up for the correct settings for your phone or go to the Store, and download and install the Network Setup application which can be found in the Nokia Collection.

Group SMS stuck in outgoing

iPhone 4S (v7.0.4)
Every time I add more than one person to a normal SMS text (to change to a group text) It starts to send, but then just gets stuck with Outgoing at the top of Messages App.
This is sending to people that do not have iPhones, once I forward individualy it sends fine.
Tested with iPhone users and same problem.
I have tried rebooting, reseting, disabing iMessage. Nothing works. This problem seems have happened since the 7.0.4 update I installed.
Any other fixes/work arounds?

Yes, have a data plan. Happens both on a wi-fi and on 3G network.
Yes tried re-setting network settings. group sms is are still stuck saying 'outgoing'.
No can't itunes restore - I update my phone OTA and have never connected it to iTines.

Iphone 4. Updated to IOS5 is slower now than ever before. Locks up in various applications. Group sms app no longer works and phone only allows minimal groups.

Since the upgrade my phone is slower and has locked up in various applications. I also can no longer send group sms through my group sms app. My groups have 30 plus members. I have tried turning off imessage. Is there anything else i can try? Thanks

Can you be more specific about the problem you are having? You may have to contact your carrier and tell them about the issues you're having. MMS and Group MMS often have issues on the carrier level and not on the phone.

Send Group SMS contact group to other BB Users?

Is there any way at all to send an SMS contact group that I created on my handset to other BlackBerry devices? I know you can with indivual contacts but when choosing the group it simply opens the group to select the individual contacts rather than the group as a whole.

Do you have Send as SMS enabled in the Settings/Messages pane? It only happens when you are sending to more than one recipient?

No not with the built in message app, but you can see if there is an app for that feature you want.
