Group texts aren't received.

Group texts aren't received. So, since I was forced into a software upgrade on my Droid HD Maxx, and our other HDs the group messages aren't received. We get notified that I have texts, but none are there. All I can get out of Verizon is, "yeah, that is a problem. If you would like to hold for another half hour I can get you to someone with the same answer." So I pay thousands of dollars a year for phones that don't work. Does anyone know when this will be fixed? Or is it finally the last straw?

We want to make sure that you are able to receive your text messages on time. When did you start having this problem? Are your text being delayed from one sender or every text that is being received? Does this only happen when connected to wi-fi?

Hell Everyone,
so I just recently switched from my Iphone back to my blackberry for simplicity/practical reasons...I couldn't deal with the iphone anymore. In doing so, I came across a problem. I am not able to send group texts or send/receive mms. Everytime I try to do so, the text has a red 'X' next to it showing that it didn't go through. I am currently with ATT and have tried calling them to resolve it but no one knows.
here are some of the steps I took to resolve it
1. Resetted to Factory Settings - Did not work
2. Made sure all the settings in my text message options is selected properly - Did not work
3. Deactivated iCloud/iMessage on my previous iPhone - Did not work
4. Called ATT and had them make sure BB Data plan was on my plan, and it was - Did not work
Can someone please help?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should re-contact your mobile service provider for formal support...be sure to request their dedicated BB support group. MMS is a specific service level that must be properly enabled on BBs in order to function. Often, the first support group you reach will not understand the proper method for configuring this on BB...but their dedicated BB support group will.

I cant receive replies to group text I sent.

Suddenly my iphone doesnt receive group replies from a group I have been using for a long time. I can initiate the group text and they receive it, but I dont get the replies everyone else gets. Please help!

How can I find out who hasn't received a text message in group texts?

I sent the same text to a group of people but 'message failed' showed. Some recipients replied to my original text so obviously received it. How can I found out who didn't receive my text?

Thanks for the question. This can be done by viewing the contact info in Messages. Simply tap “Contact” in the top right corner, then tap the icon. This will bring up the contact card, and the number the message was sent to will be highlighted in blue.
View someone’s contact info in Messages.
To quickly view someone's contact info in Messages, tap Contact.
- Tap to call that person or to use FaceTime
- Tap to see the person’s complete contact info
If they're not already a contact, you can tap Create New Contact to add them.

Group text sent out, replies sent out but not received by my phone???

Last night I sent out a group text but received no replies, whilst everyone else was happily chatting away. I have an iPhone4, its been recently updated, i've checked all the settings and can't see anything wrong???? I've sent out group texts before the update with no problems

To identify your iMessages as coming from your phone number go to Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID and select your phone number rather than your email address. Also, the email can't be removed because this is the email address linked to the Apple ID you are using for iMessage. If you really want to remove it you have to go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the Apple ID at the top and sign out.

I want to make sure you can take advantage of group messaging, tlavender. Are you using the default application on the device? Are you attempting to initiate group messages from your phone or is a contact adding you to their group message? Does the group message contain more than 5 contacts? If so, are you able to start a group message with 3 members?

Not Everyone Receives Group Text

Ok so, this might not be the right community for this, but I've got a friend who has an iPhone 4 running iOS 7. When he sends out a large group text, (iPhones, iPods, and regular cell phones) not everyone receives the message. I have an iPod Touch 5 on iOS 7 and have never received the text even though friends with iPods (I believe 4th gen.) got the message. Is it because there are so many people in the message? I'm lost on this. And how does it work if you reply with your iPod to someone else with a regular cell phone? (just out of curiosity) Thanks.

Yes, i've always been able to send and receive messages from him without any problems at all. The thing is he sends it out to maybe 20 people or so, some have iPods, some iPhones, and some just regular cell phones. A majority of people will receive the message, but many won't. And I believe that most of the problems are from iPods not receiving it, but at the same time some people's iPods get it and some don't. I'm not sure why he would have a problem since it's being sent from an iPhone.

Your signature says you have 10.6.8 - is this correct? If you migrated from MobileMe using this your mail settings won't be correct and you will need to follow this procedure to re-enter them:

I am having issues sending and receiving group texts on my iphone 5c

I am having issues sending and receiving group texts on iphone 5c. I may get texts only from the sender or a few of the recipients, but not all. I spoken to Apple. They are working on the problem but it has been almost two months + and the problem seems to be getting worse. Any one have this issue?

ajspurr, sorry to hear that you're still having some troubles here, but we want to figure this out. If you have already cleared the application cache and data and it's still giving you an issue, we may want to reset the device. Cannot send or receive group text if someone is not on an apple phone

Does anyone else have this problem or have a solution to this issue? Has been like this since I got the phone and Apple says it is Verizon AND Verizon says it is Apple! I cannot send or receive a group text! Help!

i have the same issue with AT&T. My phone receives picture and group texts just fine, but responding to group texts fails.
Disabling MMS allows you to send texts to multiple people at the same time but doesn't set up the group chat environment so that responses can be automatically sent to everyone as well. you end up receiving text responses from each recipient in a separate thread.
AT&T has also stated that it is an iPhone issue, but I have yet to ask apple what they think the problem is. Since the issue sounds identical to KKONO's, I'd assume the response would be that I should speak with AT&T about it. :\
It doesn't really make sense that the carrier would be the one at fault since if MMS were really dysfunctional it would have much more widespread affects than just disabling group chat response. Send/Receive picture text and receive group chat should also be disabled. Since the problem is isolated only to responding to group chat, I'd think it's more likely an issue with apple iOS.
Any thoughts?

Group messages are considered MMS, not SMS. MMS is transmitted over the cellular (data) network. It does NOT use your data plan, it uses your texting allowance. But data DOES need to be enabled to send and receive group and picture texts.

Wow, 1yerdua. That's far too long to be having this messaging trouble. We want to find the resolution fast! If you turn off your Lumia's WiFi (Menu > Settings > WiFi), are you still able to access data-oriented applications like Internet Explorer? Have you been to other areas of the state/country and experienced the same trouble?

Send and receive mms and group text messages on Samsung Galaxy Core Prime

I moved from a basic phone to a smartphone. I used to be able to receive group text messages and MMS messages without having to use data or be connected via wifi. Why is it I have to use data or be connected to a wifi sourceto receive those messages now?

The antennae or radios in the Prime are configured differently than most flagship type smartphones and even different still from basic phones. It comes down to difference of hardware.
