Group Video on Internet ready tv with built in bro...

Can I use group video on an internet tv which has a browser without a computer connected?
Paul

No. Current Skype enabled TV sets and BluRay players don't support group video calling yet. You can do only 1-on-1 Skype video calls.

  • Group video call on LG 55LA6200 with LG AN-VC500

    Hi,
Trying to set up group video to include LG smart TV.
    Following instructions found here: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10801/making-a-group-video-call-mac
Initiate the call by starting a new converstion on a laptop, using Premium account.  Add users, including the account on the TV. Click "Video call".  Conversation starts, but not everyone can see everyone else.  Example:
Master laptop initiates on laptop in same room as TV (or not).
    TV is account on TV.
Remote is account on desktop across the hall.
Every device can see its own camera view.
Master laptop can see itself and Remote video.
    TV can only see itself.
Remote can see itself and Master laptop video.
Is there something we're doing incorrectly?

  • HTML5 videos won't play correctly with built-in player

    1) When I try to play html5 video, firefox only shows me a few frames, and then screen become grayed and «loading» animation appears. Then it shows me next few frames, and a loading screen again. It continues until the whole video will load.
    2) When it finally loads, video and sound are a little bit choppy if the video is in good quality. Other browsers play that videos without any lags or loading screens. Here's the example of one of that videos I couldn't watch normally: https://m.vk.com/video-51189706_170637645
I've looked up at memory indicator, and it showed me that I have at least 200Mbs of free RAM during the loading of these videos. Also every memory limit setting in about:config is set to -1.
I use the latest firefox version from Play Store and own an Asus TF300T tablet (nvidia tegra3 and 1Gb of RAM), so it's certainly not a lack of hardware power.
I also should note that when I watch youtube videos (with firefox, not youtube player, which I've removed), everything is fine — videos are playing and loading at the same time.

I cannot view that video however we are in the process of making some major changes to video playback on Android. Currently these changes are in our Aurora build of Firefox it can be downloaded at https://aurora.mozilla.org if you would like to see if this improves the video playback.

  • IChat and google apps accounts for group video chat

Does group video chat in iChat work with Google Apps email accounts added under gtalk?

    No.
iChat can Video Chat to iChat users only in Video chats 3 or 4 ways
This can be based on  Jabber (Google Facebook Other) Buddy list or from an AIM Login list (AIM, @Mac.com or @Me.com)  but you cannot mix and match Buddies from AIM and Jabber.
Not even in 1-1 chats will iChat VIdeo Chat to:-

On an additional note, I've purchased a wireless router and everything connected on the first attempt.  It just vexes me that the built-in wireless isn't working as a router.  Is this another example of "Mac only plays with Mac"?

  • Ingested videos not playing in stereo with Quicktime or after exporting with compressor

Why does it seem like every time I try to do something just mildly complex I'm stymied by some bug or problem with the software?
    Here's the deal:
    0) I have footage was shot with a stereo camcorder, a JVC GR-DV3000 (circa 2003), with built-in stereo mics.
    1) I ingest the footage from the Mini DV tape and save it to a camera archive using Final Cut Pro X (latest version).
    2) I use Final Cut Pro to pull the events out of archive.
    3) When the events are played from within Final Cut Pro X, I hear strereo and audio meters indicate the audio is in stereo (left and right channels have different volume levels).
    4) When the events are played with the open source software, VLC, I hear stereo, too.
    5) When I export the files for playing on an Apple device using Final Cut Pro, the audio is in stereo as you would expect.
    BUT:
    5) When I play the event clips with QuickTime from my hard drive after step 2 above, I get no audio from the right channel. Weird, right?
    But most annoying of all:
    6) When I use Compressor 4 (instead of Final Cut) to output the event clips to "SD for Apple Devices" using the default audio settings, I get no audio from the right channel, either.
    7) I've got hundreds, if not thousands, of clips. I'm not about to save each clip manually with FCPX. I need to batch convert these files with Compressor.
    8) I've tried various combinations of the audio import settings ("Analyze and fix audio problems," "Separate mono and group stereo audio," and "Remove silent channels." These options have not solved the issue for me. The clips still play in mono in QuickTime.
When I look at the properties of the file in QuickTime, here's what it shows:
    DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, 720 x 480 (640 x 480)
Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 32000 Hz, Left
Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 32000 Hz, Unused
Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 32000 Hz, Unused
Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 32000 Hz, Unused
Why it's telling me the other 3 channels are unused, I have no idea. As I mentioned, the footage was shot in stereo and even Final Cut plays it in stereo.
Here's what VLC says about the very same file:
    Stream 0:
    Type: Audio
    Codec:PCM S16 LE (sowt)
    Channels: Mono
    Sample Rate: 32000 Hz
    Bits per sample: 16
    Stream 1:
    Type: Audio
    Codec:PCM S16 LE (sowt)
    Channels: 1
    Sample Rate: 32000 Hz
    Bitrate: 512 kb/s
    Stream 2:
    Type: Audio
    Codec:PCM S16 LE (sowt)
    Channels: 1
    Sample Rate: 32000 Hz
    Bitrate: 512 kb/s
    Stream 3:
    Type: Audio
    Codec:PCM S16 LE (sowt)
    Channels: 1
    Sample Rate: 32000 Hz
    Bitrate: 512 kb/s
    Stream 4:
    Type: Video
    Codec: (DV Video (dvc)
    Resolution: 720 x 480
    Frame Rate: 29.970030
    Decoded Format: Planar 4:1:1 YUV
If anyone can point in the right direction, I'd much appreciate it.

I ended up just using iMovie to capture video from the camera. The clips now play in stereo in QuickTime perfectly.
It's interesting to note that iMovie saves the clips as .dv file types, not .mov file types like FCPX does.
And it turns out the iMovie capture is *much* smoother. It actually "just works." Ingesting tapes with FCPX, I had to cross my fingers, spin on my head and pray three times to a statue of Steve Jobs before it would work (and even then it would do weird stuff).
The only downside of using iMovie is that it doesn't have the camera archive feature.
I really don't understand why, with $120 billion in the bank, Apple seems to be churning out software as an afterthought. No, software is not where they make their money, but they are ruining their reputation. Ah, well, first world problems.

  • Free Trial Group Video Chat

I've got a free 7 days Group Video Chat trial, and received a email that confirmed the trial.
But, don't know why, I just can't use the group video call!
Every time skype says that i have to use a premium account in order to use the group video call.
Does anyone know what i have to do?
    Thanks in advance.

Because one-on-one chat works correctly for you, it is possible that you, and / or one of the participants you were trying to connect with, do not have enough bandwidth to support best multi-party video. All participants must meet all the requirements, so all of you who are having problems should consider all of the following suggestions:
If any of you are using wireless connections to the internet, connecting via ethernet instead might help.
Also, check Making a group video call (Mac).
You can check the actual speed available to you by using Speedtest.net.  Do not have any other internet connected apps (like email, etc.) connected while you do the test.
If you have not restarted your entire system for a long time, shutting down everything and then restarting your modem, router, wireless access point (if it is a separate device), and computer sometimes helps improve communication speed.  Let every device complete its power-on self-test before restarting the next device in turn.
If the problem continues after you restart your system, Skype's comprehensive support system should best be able to help you use their product with your system.
You can also search or post for help with your problem in Skype's dedicated Skype Discussions for Mac.  The Skype users who post there may have already solved the same problem.

  • Group video chat - best option?

    Dear Skype team
I work at a university, and the discipline would run a online-based program next year.
The students would be all areas - mostly in Australia but some may be located overseas.
We are expecting more than 20 students, and they would need to join the live video session at the same time.
Looking at your website, the maximum number of participants at the same time is 10. Is there any way for more participants to join?
Thank you for your prompt response.
    Regards

  • Internet sites which are built on  iStore and iSupport

We are planning to implement iStore and iSupport for our client.
Looking for already implemented internet sites which are built on both istore and iSupport modules.
We have seen many sites which are implemented on istore but none with iSupport.
Any references for the same is highly appreciated.

If you don't have a backup copy of the domain.sites2 file that resides in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder, you will have to recreate them from scratch. Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the recreation of the site.

  • Group Video Calls

We recently purchased a Samsung TV model H7150 and discovered that the Skype application is not compatible with Group Video calls.  Is there a solution?  Will Skype be upgrading the application on the Samsung TV to allow for group calls? Thank you

    Hi
All Skype TVs can join a group audio call (ie your TV can be a participant on a group audio call). However, most TVs won't allow you to be the person who starts that group audio call. This is because hosting the call requires more processing power.
All Skype TVs can also participate in group video calls, but on the TV you will only be able to send and receive audio (you will not send or receive video).
The only TVs currently capable of group video calling are Samsung TVs, and specifically these models:
    2014 TVs with built-in cameras
2015 All TVs in the following model ranges:
    J55xx
    J63xx
    J65xx
    JU6xxx
    JU7xxx
    JS8xxx
    JS9xxx

  • Internet ready tv vs smart tv

I'm confused on all the new tv's out now. I'm looking to buy a Sony 40-46" tv. What is the difference between internet ready & smart tv's. Some say wifi/internet ready etc, & have to have an adapter. Then there is Google tv. All seem  to say streaming on line & some some they have  a browser for the internet. This is confusing, what i've read on line is the staff in the retail stores don't really know. Sony's web site is confusing. I don't want to purchase a tv thinking i can get on the web to find out all i can get is movies. I can get that without a new tv. Can someone make this simple?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

'Internet ready' or anything 'ready' suggests you will need something additional to access the functions before the word 'ready' (cable ready, HD ready, internet ready, etc.) The primary difference between a 'Smart TV' and an "internet ready" TV, as suggested, is APPS. The purpose is to be able to use the TV , for things like watching videos, listening to music, viewing photos, independently from your computer (just like a mobile device). Google TV does allow you to 'surf the net' like your computer. There is also no memory storage built in to either type of TV, so depending on what you want to primarily use it for, you need to make sure you have a fast, reliable internet connection to do things like stream video (minimum of 1.5mbs continuous speed) to avoid constant freezing and 'buffering'. There are lots of good answers here:

i am extremly pissed off at skype people
at one time i had used a confrence calling feature for which they charge like a montly fee -
how can cancel this - now everytime i add $10 to my account they deduct ~$9 right away for this group video cofrencing feature that i don't use. there seems to be no way in hell you can either contact the customer support or even send them an email. i have been robbed. and i am extremly upset right now - their stupid help page loops to same freaking FAQs only - please help ---- aghhhhhh!!!!

Hi, samijo, and welcome to the Community,
If you cannot cancel the subscription within your account information, you must contact Skype Customer Service for assistance.  Start with signing on to the website - the link appears at the top right corner of the page.  This will afford you the most number of support options from which to choose.
Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service   As you know you wish to contact Customer Service, skip past Step 2 of the instruction (this is where the FAQ articles mentioned in the post, above, are presented) and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request.
