Groupin report according to Month

Hi Everyone
I'm creating a report where it list out the PO value according to the created date from a ODS
How could i change the report format to display the total PO value acording to the created month rather than created date?
Could anyone help me

Hi,
Do you have 0calmonth in your ODS? if not, please add it and write a formula/ small abap routine in update rules to populate it with values.
Reload the data, and then you should be able to use it for drilling down to the month level.

we are using FR 11.1.2V here I have a different requirement from my client
He want to see the report for 18 months and that also to be automated, here the problem starts
we are allowing user to selelct only one start periode and one start year in Grid POV. and for periode we are periode+1, periode+2... till periode+18 this is fine,
but how the Year Dim will change accordingly
for exp:- 2010 2010 2010 2010 2011 2011
Sep Oct Nov Dec Jan Feb
Here how the Year will change to 2010 to 2011 and 2012 automatically. User will select only one star periode and one start year.

I tried to do the same which you told me, but it dose'nt work
we are using Essbase as database for FR.. I did not find any option called Periode Offset function at the time of member selection, what I did is...
in Col A I selected Current POV of periode and Current POV of Year... so that user can change current year and perioed..... and in col B I selected Same as Col A for Year and RelativeMamber +1 for Perioed and so on... perioed chnaged next one but not year... let me know if I selelcted any workg selection.

Set the following parameter with reference value:

activated profile in sm19,still iam not getting audit log for last week in sm20.
After Proper setting of Security Audit log parameters, the Application Server needs to be restarted to make the changes effective. You will only get the Audit Data since the activation of valid Security Audit parameter.

I have to requirment for schedule report:Means when report has been montly schedule and
user are gettiing report through email in pdf formate:But in bex query level Monthyear(selection) has set
intervals.My question is how could be set interval(6 months) so,automatically every month
report will be schudle .
Example
When Month year (Filter):201403 to 201408 (its for month August).
But when month will be come september.So,Data will be come automatically like that Month year:201404 to 201409.
So, kindly advice me ASAP.

How to Keep the spool created of a report for one month

How do we program to keep the spool created of a report for 1 month?
I used SUBMIT TO SAP-SPOOL but it seems that its maximum retention is only 9 days...
Please advice.

Sceduling of report of previous monthe in background job

Hello Techies,
I have 2 issues.
1. i want to scedule bacground job of some previous months dates . How to do that?Please tell me step by step. And also i want content of that report should be visible to me.
2. I want to do some chanes in Single Role which has been assigned to various user. That role containes the profile which is copy of SAP_ALL profile. Now i want to remove some specific Transactions from itlike CJ20N,VA02,FB08 ETC.
NOTE: Menu tab is unmainted int it. And I also gone with Tcode Ranges BUT ITS NOT WORKING.

Answer for the first point
1.Make a transaction which fetches the required data from ECC(O any data source), i suppose you must be having some data source where the past records are stored.
2.In this transaction you must be using some Action Block to fetch the data (Eg BAPI or FM), this BAPI or FM must have some input on which you want to fetch the data , and i guess there must be some start and end date i/p field on which you want the data.
3. In this start and end date field map two transaction variable like Start_Date and End_Date.
4. Now from the schedular you can pass the start and end date to this BLS and in the BLS before mapping these dates you can use date functions which converts the date passed by you to one month back or so according to your requirement.
I guess this will resolve your first query.

Anyway the query with UNION ALL will work. For Example.
I am assuming that the parameter for date/month you will pass in range like 01-JUN-2010 to 30-JUN-2010

How to show a report for 'Previous Month' Data

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement, where i have to default my report to show previous month data.
Scenario:
My prompts by Default are set to CURRENT (current year,quarter,month). once the user logs in, the report should display data for month 'Nov' instead of 'Dec'.
I tried using TIMESTAMPADD() in the formula , but it didn't work, though i don't see any error. Not sure if i 'm missing something.
Is there a way to achieve this.I 'm using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.
Any help is highly Appreciated ! Please.

From what you wrote I am assuming the user can manually save the report results to the Excel file.
If your report uses ALV Grid it is possible to export the data to a spreadsheet (one of the functions available in the ALV tool bar).
If you have used WRITE statements it is also possible to save the output as a spreadsheet (menu System -> List -> Save), but the latter will not produce as nice a spreadsheet if the data don't form a matrix. In other words, some work may be necessary in the spreadsheet afterwards before it has the format your user wants.

Vendor payments report for a month

Dear all,
is there any built report that would show all the vendor payments in a month with the date it has been debited our account?
I tried with FAGLL03, but the date of the ZP document created by F110 can be different from the date of the ZR docs, that show the value date of the transaction.
I would need this report for tax calculations, but if I filter for ZR doc types, the vendor name won't be populated and I can't VLOOKUP for it as it has different clearing number.
Any ideas?

You would need to have Bank recon in place on realtime basis. So at the end of day, the bank sends you the statement file. Now you will probably need to build in a custom report which will check that for a payment document, if the entry has been posted in the main Bank GL, which will happen only once the bank statement file is uploaded in SAP.

Is it possible to create reports in 1 month without any experience?

I'm on a project where we need to make some custom reports in the span of about a month. I'm trying to figure out what is feasible for a person, with no reporting background but plenty of SQL experience,to handle in that time frame.
The format of all of the reports would be basically the same. We want a histogram next to a window where we can enter in some information, and the histogram would change dynamically. In another frame, we would have access to detailed data (ability to view the actual records).

My Time dimension is as under .
July2013, Aug2013 ,......Jan2014,,,. June2014 = 2014.TOTAL
My requirement is to report based on context view along with previous period total (.TOTAL) values.
For example : If i am using CV as : 2013.JUL my report should show 2013.JUL & 2013.TOTAL
If i am using CV as : 2014.JUN my report should show 2014.JUN & 2013.TOTAL
Can anyone provide some direction to build the above scenario

do you have the property YEAR in your time dimension filled out? If so, you could use EPMDIMENSIONOVERRIDE function together with an Excel cell.
Let me build an example:
Assuming your report has two columns, one for the current month and one for the total year. I would split this into two, one report per month, i.e. column. The first report will show the current period, the second the total. Somewhere in the header of your sheet use:
EPMDimensionOverride("001";"TIME";EPMMemberProperty(;EPMContextMember(;"TIME");"YEAR")&".TOTAL")
001 is the default ID of the second report.

I need a formula to pick data from 01/01/2010 to the end of the previous month.
I'm familiar with using Today-1 etc but require a formula that enables me to run the report at any time during the month without changing the parameters.

To calculate the start of the current year...
DateAdd("yyyy", DateDiff("yyyy", #1/1/1900#, CurrentDate), #1/1/1900#)
which will return: 1/1/2010 12:00:00AM
Technically, the end of last month is the exact same time as the start of the current (12:00:00.000 midnight)... So...
DateAdd("m", DateDiff("m", #1/1/1900#, CurrentDate), #1/1/1900#)
which will return 10/1/2010 12:00:00AM
But for viewing purposes, people tend to not like seeing 10/1/2010, when they are looking for 9/30/2010... so you can use this. Just be aware that you'll loose that last 1 second (most people don't mind)
DateAdd("s", -1, DateAdd("m", DateDiff("m", #1/1/1900#, CurrentDate), #1/1/1900#))
which will return 9/30/2010 11:59:59PM

Reporting on Previous Month/Current Year - Jan 09 fix

I currently have about 10 reports that are being filtered to only show data on the repository variables for :
PreviousMonth and Current Year.
When Jan 1, 2009 comes around, these reports will be kicked off to show Decemeber of the Current Year, so December of 2009.
What is the best/easiest way to fix this problem for the future?

What Shiva meant was to let YEAR be a Presentation Variable that the user can select from, say a drop down list of "years."
But consider this. Whenever the month of the "system date" is January, you want the year to be one less than the "current year." For all other months, you want the year of the "system date."
PrevYear = CASE WHEN MONTH(Calendar."System Date")=1 THEN YEAR(TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_YEAR, -1,Calendar."System Date")) ELSE YEAR(Calendar."System Date") END
And since you weren't sure about how to do the previous month...
PrevMonth = MONTH(TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_MONTH,-1,Calendar."System Date"))
