Grouping Album tracks together??

Hi,
I have imported some albums into itunes, but for some reason they come up in itunes as seperate tracks, whereas useually i import an album and all the tracks are under the one cover.
Is there a way i can group these 11 tracks so that they are grouped under 1 cover art?
Many thanks for any help
Tom

Have you had a look at this troubleshooting page? It may be of some help: Why aren't songs with the same album art grouped together

  • Keeping album tracks together

This topic is a little hard for me to explain but I'll try my best.
I'm cleaning my library and found a couple of songs I wanted to put together in one album, three tracks from the Jet Set Radio game on Xbox. So I put them all in an album called Jet Set Radio. Trouble is when I view it in either Grid or Cover Flow mode, it separates one of the tracks out as an album called J.S.R, then the other two tracks together in a second album called J.S.R. The weird thing is, two of the tracks are by Artist A and one of them is Artist B. But it's taken one of the Artist A tracks and put it in the solo album, them lumped A and B together in the second. If that makes sense...
I've tried EVERYTHING to meld the three together. They're under the same folder in the library, they all have the same cover art, marking then a compilation, marking them a gapless album...they all have the same information in every field, expect for the track title and the artist fields.
    What have I done wrong?

Fixed it. Had to scrutinize every track listed + the info to find the little blip.

  • Track List and Grouped Album Art not right

I purchased a 2 disc album from iTunes. I did nothing but click buy. I have not changed any default settings. When viewed under "+view grouped with artwork+", most tracks are separate instead of being grouped together under one album image. There are a few that are grouped together randomly. For example: +track 1 of 16 on Disc 1+ is with +track 1 of 15 on disc 2+, or +tracks 3, 4, 5, & 10 of 15 Disc 2+ are grouped together.
Another problem is with the order of the tracks. When I downloaded to my iPhone, the tracks are out of order. For example: +#16 of disc 2 is now #1+, +#1 of disc 1 is now #17 of 31+.
Finally, The artwork downloaded to my iPhone for most, _but not all_ of the tracks.
What on earth am I doing wrong!?!?
    Thanks for your help

I've since started over from scratch with a 'clean' phone.  Formatted the SD Card, created Music & Videos folders & copied all respective files using a card reader with the PC.
SD Card installed in the phone & when switched on ALL tracks appear in respective artist/album location - only once.
Connecting the phone to the PC to add new albums results in all new albums being detected once BUT with NO artwork (cover image).  Deleting an album results in that being deleted the list available in the 'Music+Videos' App.  Copying the album back results in that being detected BUT with no artwork.
Trawling through the web, I've discovered a brilliant app MPAtool which magically restores the missing artwork. It's not 100% effective as it doesn't necessarily locate all artwork, but these can be found manually either by , locating them in Music or, if that also fails, copy the artwork to 'camera roll' & point MPAtool to that location.
So far, I've had no more duplications & all albums have their respective artwork.
It is also important to ensure that the MP3 tag is 100% correct.  Using Winamp to rip my CDs to MP3, the CDDB imports the information for artist, album, track etc & populates all the necessary locations without error.  However, some earlier MP3 tracks that I have had had erroneous entries which confuse the Windows 8 software.  Also when ripping albums with more than 1 CD, Winamp identified each CD as 1/2 & 2/2 with track numbers 1 - n on each rip which Windows 8 interprets as 2 albums.  I prefer to see all CDs in an album as one & use Tag & Rename to ensure at references to 1/2 & 2/2 are removed & track numbers are changed accordingly.

Generally all you need to do is fill in an appropriate Album Artist. For more details see my article on Grouping Tracks Into Albums, in particular the topic One album, too many covers.

  • Keeping certain tracks together in Shuffle mode

I have some live music (would like to import it in AAF format) that is tracked but I want to keep certain tracks together as "one track" when in shuffle mode.  I don't mind if I need to make a new second track that is this one long connected track, but need an easy way to do it so that it sounds seamless.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this would be seamless enough for your needs, but try using Groups. You can assign tracks to a group be using the "Get Info" window (cmd+I) info tab to assign a grouping.
To choose whether iTunes shuffles by songs, albums, or groupings, choose Controls > Shuffle > [Option].
If you select “by Albums” or “by Groupings,” iTunes plays the songs in the order in which they appear on the album or in the grouping, and then chooses another album or grouping at random.

  • Keeping iTMS tracks together in shuffle mode

OK... I know the workaround of keeping tracks together when importing a CD, but how do I do this with songs downloaded from iTMS?
I'd like to create a shuffle list, but some tracks should always be intros to other tracks.

  • I downloaded 2 albums and it mixed the album songs together

I downloaded 2 albums and it mixed the album songs together.  The songs are not in the right albums and some are not in the albums at all.

  • ITunes Album Track Order

I basically spend 8 hr a day listening to iTunes and I have a really frustrating issue that I can't imagine should be as difficult to get around - but I can't seem to figure it out.
I buy quite a bit of music either through emusic, itunes or cd's. Since I had probably 1/2 dozen albums a week, I ideally want to open itunes and just start listening to the last album I imported (in order) followed by the 2nd most recent album, etc -- and ideally listen for my entire workday. The problem is multifaceted:
    1. Emusic automatically imports music I download. It processes them in reverse order, which is good since it makes song #1 the most recent "date added" which allows me to sort by "date added" and listen in order. Unfortunately, since it processes multiple songs at a time, shorter songs beat the song before it -- and it makes a mess of the track order. They get numbered correctly, but they're "date added" are incorrect -- which messes up my listening order.
    2. When I import a CD, it starts at track 1 -- making it impossible to use the "dated added"field as a sort.
    3. I believe Itunes acts like a cd on importing, so again the order is bungled.
I have about 6,000 songs so I don't think it's feasible to change each CD one by one, but I can't imagine there isn't some way to just listen to my newest album, in order, then my next newest, etc.
Does anyone know if there's a way to do this? I can't imagine I'm the only person who listens to music this way. Right now, I wind up filtering to the album, sorting by track, and listening to CD's one by one. I can get through like 20 albums in a day, so this it makes it really tought to get into a flow at work.
This has bothered me for well over a year, and I've searched many discussion groups and haven't come across any similar threads -- so I decided to just ask flat out.
Any help would be incredible, thank you.

hmmm... I didn't realize that was an option, but that definitely helps. I guess part two can be to request emusic to NOT IMPORT automatically, and I can just load the tracks in reverse order.
Of course that helps moving forward, but I guess I'm stuck with out of order imports on the existing library (not the end of the world).
I really wish Itunes would allow a secondary sort to allow us to sort albums and just leave the track numbers alone -- I'd say 99% of the time, people want the album tracks in order, so it's silly to have most of the sort options mess with that order.

  • Is it possible to overcome synch/pitch issues between two groups of tracks

I have a few songs which were originally recorded as a group of rhythm tracks on tape which were subsequently re-mixed to stereo and brought back to have more tracks (vocals, solos, etc.) added.
Now I have them in digital format, loaded to Logic Express 8. Each song has the original 8 tracks, all synched together, plus the other group comprised of the stereo mix on the original 8 plus 6 added tracks. The tracks in this other group are synched together BUT they are not synched with the original group AND there may be an ever-so-slight pitch variance between the two groups.
Can this be resolved without any re-recording?

No, restoring from backup is all or none, You can't select what specific items to restore

  • Can 'track list' button show your playlist rather than album track list?

    Hi all
My 3GS iPhone has my music on it in the form of whole albums which live in individual playlists on my Mac, but I also have playlist 'mixes' which I've created from various songs from multiple albums.
When selecting to play a 'mixed' playlist on my iPhone I tap on it, tap the first song to start the music playing, but then if I tap the top right 'track list' button, instead of showing all the tracks in my created playlist it just shows the entire album tracks from where this particular song has come from. Visually I prefer the 'track list' screen but it seems I can't use it if I'm playing a 'mixed' playlist. Is there any way around this?
Also, this is the same if I have a double CD album: once I hit the 'track list' button it shows just CD 1 (or 2 if I'm further down the play list of course), rather than all the tracks even though on they all live in one single playlist on my iTunes. I've even taken the starts of the track names off (some of them start with '1_01 Song Title' for example) when importing them into iTunes to see if that helps but it doesn't: the iPhone KNOWS how that track was originally supplied!
Any help or clarification on this would be very helpful!
    Markos

sadly, that kind of customization is only easily doable on a computer. the iPhone and it's core apps can not be changed by users. you can request the feature be put in, but unless there are a LOT of requests, you shouldn't get your hopes up as there are a lot of these kinds of requests, and by implementing it, how many other users would be angry and demand it be changed back? http://www.apple.com/feedback/
if you are playing a song that you selected in a playlist, you should be able to hit the 'back' button in the top left to go back to the playlist and view your songs in the playlist.
in regards to the 'cd 1 of 2' thing, you will need to change your song info to get this to show in the format you want. to see the song info, select a song and go to 'file -> get info'. that will show you all of the ID3 tag information, which you can edit to do whatever you want.

  • I just bought and downloaded an album.  the album/tracks are NOT found in my music listing alongside every other track i have purchased! however, they are found and playable in the recently added playlist. plz help

i just bought and downloaded an album.  the album/tracks are NOT found in my music library alongside every other track i have purchased! however, they are found and playable in the recently added playlist.  in addition, when using the search queue in the upper right corner, the artist and album is listed when searched for, but when clicked on, nothung happens.  i have downloaded hundreds of tracks with no issue (not a noob), but have no idea what has occurred...plz help

Have you checked whether the songs are in your iTunes library? If they are, then just drag them to your purchased playlist. If they aren't, try checking for available downloads.
If none of the previous work, then get in contact directly with iTunes store support to tell them about your problem.

  • How to record multiple tracks together?

Ok, completely new to garage band, but I don't see why this is so difficult to figure out. I get how to record a track, and then play it as a loop. But how do I then record something new WITH that loop, so that the two tracks play together (and not just record over it, deleting the first track). For example, how can I record a rhythm part on the guitar, stop it, hit the loop button, and then record a solo over it? Everytime I try this it either records over the first recording (deleting it), or even though it looks like its recording when I stop and hit play I am still only hearing the first track. Very frustrating...
    Thanks!!!!

You create a second track for the solo and record to the second track, then play both tracks together.
Use the "Record enable" button in the track header to enable only the solo guitar track for recording, once your rhythm loop has been recorded.

  • Group 2 monitors together in a 3 monitor display

I am running 3 monitors (2x 1600x900 and 1x 1280x1024). I am using Windows 7 Enterprise. The PC I RDP into is a windows XP virtual PC with only 1 display.
What I want is to setup the RDP to span the 2x 1600x900s - I can do so only by entering in a custom X and Y size, but I want it to maxamize on those two displays to allow me to use keyboard shortcuts on which ever PC I have selected out of the
    two.
Is there a way to, in windows 7 enterprise to a windows xp machine, span ONLY the 2 monitors in a maximized fashion while the 3rd monitor is left alone for the original PC?
The best way I can think of is grouping the monitors together the way catalyst control center by AMD/ATI does, but I am using an Intel card so that's not possible.

i believe that there is no way to do this but you can do the following
open mstsc and go to display settings and enable use all my monitors for my session

  • Album track order in iTunes

Hello, I have a problem with a few downloaded albums.
I had downloaded album tracks off the net into album folders in My Music. The tracks were numbered. After importing the albums (folders) into my iTunes library, & updating my iPod with those, I see that in both the iPod & iTunes the tracks are in the wrong order. They are however, in correct order in their folders (in MY Music).
Any ideas how I can remedy this?

Try this, I found that it works for me. Right click at the top of any column in your iTunes library and choose **Track Number** from the list. Click at the top of this new column to sort it and after that click on the Album column. If you like you can then click on Artist which is how I prefer mine ordered, it will continue to hold the track order as well. Afterwards anything you import should follow this arrangement Artist>Album>Track Number within Album (you can hide the track number column when you've done if you don't want it cluttering up the view)
