Grouping by custom attribute

Hi,
When you do a Edit Region properties in a Portal page, there is a section called Item Display Options. It has a Group By option, wherein you can group it by Category, Author, Date and Item type. Is it possible to have a custom defined attribute in this list?
Thanks,
Vijay.

hi vijay,
sorry but there is currently no way to group items in a region by any other attribute (also custom attribute).

  • Custom Attributes in Target Group Email Campaign Not Refreshed

    We have a campaign sending emails to a target group of BPs.  To fill our custom attributes with values  we have implemented our code in badi CRM_IM_ADD_DATA_BADI method CRM_IM_BPSELE.  We tested our code using the Test Send feature from the email form and all worked fine.
    But when we ran the campaign in the background for a Target Group with multiple BPs it would not work correctly, our attribute values were incorrect.
    We discovered while debugging the job, that the badi gets run once for each BP, but the attribute values from the previous BP do NOT get refreshed.  In fact there are 2 entire sets of attribute records in the CT_ATT_VALUES table parameter.  Each time through it multiplies by another set of our attributes.
    I have put code in the badi as a workaround that deletes the previously filled attributes for the previous BP, but I'd like to figure out what is causing this problem.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks,
    Lee

    Hi Lee,
    Is this issue resolved for you now??
    I am facing the similar problem.
    Though the BADi is not used for these two mails (it is used in some other mail forms), it is actually called in 'CRM_ERMS_MAIL_COMPOSE' Function Module and the process is same as u said. There are 2 sets of values.
    I am using a Mail Alert functionality where in a 'Mail Alert ON' is sent to field engineers (FE) and then upon FE accepting the work we will send a 'Mail Alert OFF' to FEs.
    Problem is, we get one or two fields data incorrectly sometimes. I am not able to find out the root cause yet.
    Please let me know if you have had any resolution to this!
    Thanks in advance.

  • Create/Edit "Custom Attributes" in Dynamic Distribution Groups

    Hi,
    I wanna create a Dynamic Distribution Group based on the users "title" and "company".
    I've noticed that there are 15 "Custom Attributes" that I can edit in someway, I guess via PowerShell?
    So what is the easiest way to accomplice this?

    Hi,
    Agree with the above suggestion, you can also bulk change the custom attributes:
    Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited -Database Execs | Set-Mailbox -CustomAttribute1 “title”
    http://dougg.co.nz/2012/05/01/bulk-setting-exchange-2010-custom-attributes/
    to Edit Custom Attributes:
    get-mailbox -filter {customattribute1 -eq ""} | set-mailbox -customattribute1 = "<value>"
    And here is a reference about Create/Edit "Custom Attributes" in Dynamic Distribution Groups:

  • Custom Attributes in Target Group

    Hi,
    we are experiencing an issue during Target group creation: we are unable to see our custom attributes in the Target Group.
    We have an Attribute List created by a Custom infoset; the Infoset is based on a custom Table.
    When we create a profile Set from this Attribute list, the Target Group is created with the correct records number, but when we look at the Target Group we find there only standard attributes, that are not defined in our Attribute List (they seems all BUT000 fields).
    How can we add our custom Field to Target Group Structure?
    I've read someone suggests to enahnce CRM_IM_ADD_DATA_BADI BADI: this is the only possible option? there is a way to do it using SPRO transaction?
    Thanks and regards,
    Francesca

    Hi Francesca ,
    Thanks for reporting your concern.
    When the target group is displayed on the WebUI, the system uses a standard structure crmt_mkttg_genil_tg_i_enhance. The fields available for selection comes from this structure. In this structure there are some 30 user fields provided which can be filled through the badi 'CRM_MKTTG_SEG_MEM_EX'. Using this badi you can display the required Custom details.
    Hope this helps.

  • Adress list custom attribut user in multiple group

    Hello,
    I am trying to configure some distribution group in exchange 2007
    I wanted to have list based on my OU but i cant find how so i went with custom attribut
    I put my member in the correct service BUT i have the manager that need to be on all the group and some user in2 or 3 group.
    I cant figure how and where to do this!
    Can you help?

    So you're trying to use Dynamic Distribution Groups?
    If you're creating the DDG using the Exchange Management Console just be sure to select the "recipient container" in the second dialog box (the one labeled "Filter Settings").
    Sometimes its easier to create a "normal" static distribution group and then add the DDGs as members. You can add the DDG that selects the managers to as many different groups as you like. You may wind up with more groups, be the filter on the DDGs will
    be much easier to understand (or to create if you must use Powershell to construct the DDG).

  • Issue with Sorting by Custom Attributes

    In our custom SES query application, I am trying to implement sorting at the custom attribute level. I am having difficulty in understanding exactly how to set the options on doOracleOrganizedSearch() to achieve the desired result.
    We have a table based content source and allow a user to search via custom search attribute. We are also going to allow them to sort by custom attribute.
    For example, say we have a Project content source and one of the attributes is "Client Name". Users are going to be able to sort by client name (A-Z and Z-A). I have a prototype working but it only seems to work if I set topN to a very high number.
    I want to bring back the first 10 documents sorted by Client Name A - Z and allowing paging to the next set of sorted results. My prototype works if I set topN to 1000 (more than the # of results) but does not work if I set it to 10 (# of results I want to display per page).
    Below if my code. Note I am not setting the group attribute or the cluster list. Perhaps this is the issue?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi Nikola,
    in 9.0.1 even if you rewrite the web interface you can't sort files by custom attributes setting a SortSpecification to a Folder. You can only sort by base attributes with getItems(). To get item sorted on custom attributes you must perform a search (a lot more codelines).

  • Problem with setting custom attribute and it being searchable

    I'm having an issue with setting a custom attribute and having it be searchable using Portal 10.1.4. The situation that we have is that we initially added a bunch of files to Oracle Portal using webdrive. Later on, we decided that we needed another custom attribute called "Pinned Item" that will be used for searching (boolean value) and gave it a default value of false. The attribute was then added to the "File" item type in the "Shared Objects" group.
    It appears that since this attribute wasn't initially available on the file object, we couldn't search on it so we decided to set it programatically. First, I tried using wwsbr.set_attribute but it errored out seemingly because the value wasn't set in the first place. If I set a value first by using the web front end, I could then use the set_attribute procedure.
    So, I moved on to using wwsbr_api.modify_item and it appears to set it (although everything is being set to false until I changed it to "text" instead of "boolean" which is OK because that's what I wanted anyway... see metalink bug 390618.1). I'm using the method outlined in metalink doc 413079.1. When I do set it to a "1", and edit the item the check box is checked indicating that it is set correctly. And if I just click "OK" to save the attributes after I open it everything works like it should.
    However, the advanced search (and custom search portlet) and the search APIs are not picking it up. I'm not sure if I'm hitting Metalink bug ID 5592472 or not as that's using the "set_attribute" procedure instead of the modify_item procedure. And their "workaround" of setting the attribute in the UI isn't really feasible for a couple thousand files.
    So far I've tried the following things to get it working:
    1. I am calling wwpro_api_invalidation.execute_cache_invalidation
    2. I have executed wwv_context.sync
    3. I cleared the page group cache
    4. I invalidated all of the web cache
    Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

  • How to add Custom Attributes in the SOAP header for OWSM

    Hi Jay, you can make it in more than 1 way.
    I suggest you the following:
    - create an URL iview that points to any URL you want.
    - define a Resource that points to the iview (with a window name, to open in new window)
    - define an Area that points to the resource
    - add your new Area to the your current Area Group

  • Need to create new users in Office 365 with custom attributes from a csv file

    I am exporting users from an active directory environment and then deleting them from AD. They are Alumni and will no longer be in AD.
    I have a csv file with the following fields that I need to use to create new Alumni email boxes in Office 365 for. I need the CustomAttributes because my Dynamic Distribution Groups use them. I am fairly new to PowerShell and have been unable to get this
    to work. I suspect I may have to split it into two parts, but am not sure how to proceed. Any assistance would be appreciated. I was directed here from the Office 365 community.
    Import-Csv -Path c:\CSVfiles\CreateAlumni.csv | ForEach-Object {
       New-MsolUser -FirstName $_.FirstName -LastName $_.LastName

       -CustomAttribute3 $_.CustomAttribute3
       -CustomAttribute10 $_.CustomAttribute10

       -CustomAttribute12 $_.CustomAttribute12
       -LicenseAssignment 'domaincom:EXCHANGESTANDARD_ALUMNI'
       -UsageLocation US

    Ok, it wasn't stopping after 2 iterations. What I was seeing was 2 failures. The first was the Get-Mailbox command and the second was when it tried to assign attributes. For some reason it is not looping when it fails. It just goes on and tries to assign
    the Custom Attributes. I added writes in to tell me what was happening.

  • Using Rich Text Editor with a Custom Attribute

    Hello All,
    Can anyone please tell me as how can I use the Rich Text Editor with a Custom Attribute?
    I want to create a custom attribute based on text datatype, but when entering the value for this attribute in a Custom Item, portal shows a normal textarea. I want that the user should see the Richt Text Editor.
    Thanks for help.
    Regards

    Hi,
    Can you tell me what steps you are using to produce this, and which Portal version you are using. When I tried it, I wasn't able to reproduce it. Here are my steps:
    1) Created Custom Item Type, based on Text, under
    Page Groups > Shared Objects > Item Types
    2) Selected Three attributes (Description, Name, Publish Date). Note Text and Display Name were already selected
    3) In Add Item Wizard, configured list to allow for my
    custom item type selection.
    4) Then I was able to see the Rich Text Editor when editin
    my custom item type.

  • How to add a custom attribute to an entry?

    I need to store a person's social security number in the directory.
    I haven't found any appropriate standard attribute for such purpose (is there any?), so I decided to create a new one.
    I've written a method:
    public void setAttribute(String entryDN, String attrName, String attrValue)
    throws LDAPException, UnsupportedEncodingException
    LDAPConnection lc = new LDAPConnection();
    lc.connect(ldapHost, ldapPort);
    lc.bind(ldapVersion, loginDN, password.getBytes("UTF8"));
    LDAPAttribute attribute = new LDAPAttribute(attrName, attrValue);
    LDAPModification modification
    = new LDAPModification(LDAPModification.ADD, attribute);
    lc.modify(entryDN, modification);
    lc.disconnect();
    When the method is called
    ldapManager.setAttribute("cn=TheUserName,cn=Users,dc=server,dc=domain,dc=com", "_custom", "TEST");
    the following exception is thrown:
    LDAPException: Undefined Attribute Type (17) Undefined Attribute Type

    Exception in thread "main" Process exited with exit code 1.
    How could I solve the issue?

    Hi,
    You need to check for a few things in your OID :
    1. Your custom attribute should be present in the Schema.
    2. The attribute should be grouped in an ObjectClass.
    3. The ObjectClass should be put in the Entry you wish to modify.
    4. You can then store a value ( or values ) against the attribute.
    You can do steps 1, 2 & 3 either programatically or manually.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Sandeep

  • AD Import using Custom Attributes?

    by default when you run AD import in UC, it fetched whole AD domain accounts which contains service accounts and a lot other stuff which one don't want to import.
    So choice is to search using a particular Base DN which query only one OU.
    But this simple query is not adequate in a organization which has a very complex and large OUs structure, users which needs to be UC enabled are distributed among many separate OUs.
    Is there some kind of filters or other method during AD import which can query users from AD based on security group membership or CustomAttributes. The best approach will be CustomAttributes based query, because we already published CustomAttribute15 with values "STAFF","Faculty" and "Students".
    The whole purpose which we want to achieve is to exclude STUDENTS category in AD import. Help me friends to achieve this task.

    Hi
    You can edit the LDAP filer used by CCM; with that you could filter on your custom attributes. See this post for a discussion of a similar modification; it's just a matter of putting together a new LDAP filter string to return the results you want.

  • Help with custom attributes in PPOMA_BBP

    Hello,
    I have added a custom cost center attribute in PPOMA_BBP. I basically a copied existing attribute CNT (cost center).  I created a data element and added it to BBP_ATTR_F1. I used OOATTRCUST to add the attribute and made an entry in BBP_ATTR_PROP using SE16. Also, I copied function module BBP_ATTR_F4_ACC and revised for created a custom help module.
    The search help works fine in PPOMA_BBP but the selected value is brought back, the value is initally placed the field next to the source system field. However, after a second or two the source system is placed in the custom attribute field and the source system field is blanked out.  The same thing happens when maintaining the value manually without using search help.
    Is there something I missed?

  • Custom Attributes In Additional Details

    I created a couple of custom attributes for services supplied by two of our service organizations. One attribute is associated with our custom ticket entry form our IT department and the other is on a different custom entry form for our Property Management folks. I have a hidden attribute called Category on each form defaulted to the appropriate value so we can separate the  tickets. When I look at the Additional Details for the tickets, I see both of the service attributes even though one of the attributes does not pertain to the ticket at all. Is there a way to control what shows up in the additional details?  The different categories are worked by different groups and I do not want to confuse them with information that does not apply to their ticket.
    Thanks!
