Grouping Causes Text Threads to Disappear; Photo commentary with captions

Is there a way to group picutres inside my text frames without making text threads disappear? As soon as I select my text, photos, and jump text, the text threads disappear.
Also, is there a formal way of adding text commentary to a photo? I'd like to use the term "captions" but I know that captions mean a different thing in InDesign.

Creating a photo book with captions

I am using Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3 running on Windows. I have created a collection of photos that I want to have printed as an album. I want to maintain the captions and order that I have already set. My preference would be to do this on my desktop rather than uploading them to a service like Snapfish or Kodak Gallery (the upload process is nightmarish and it doesn't appear to maintain the captions). Any suggestions?
Ideally I would like to find a templated tool that would allow me to import my collection with its captions. Then I would send it to Snapfish or Kodak Gallery or Lulu for printing. Maybe I've missed something, but all of those folks seem to want me to upload my photos and then template the book on their site, adding captions manually. This is nuts, particularly if I've already done the work to add captions in Photoshop Album.
As a related question, is there some standard for tagging and captions for photos or does Photoshop Album use some proprietary method?

I can see the caption when I upload the photo to Kodak Gallery, but it doesn't show up when I place it in the photo book. I have a question in to their support team but I still wonder if anyone has had any luck making photo books with the captions created in Photoshop Album Starter.
And the bigger question is: what if I don't want to upload my photos? What if I'd rather make the book on my desktop? Is there any way to do that?

Photo Gallery with captions?

Hey folks
I've added the new version of the dynamic photo gallery to my
site. It works great! But, I'd like to be able to have a caption
under each photo.. can anyone help?
I made a div under it, added a style, it displays just fine
and in the right place, I just can't get it to read the captions
from the XML file.
The HTML is basically just

And then my XML looks like this..

Because of search engines and validation I would really like to use the STATIC "HTML Data Set Photo Gallery" http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/demos/gallery_pe/static/china.html.
But I definitely need captions for the Photos. I found possibilities to add them via XML, but not for the HTML-Version.
As far as I got I think I have to edit this function from "gallery_hds.js" and add some RegEx, to extract caption text.

Turn Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom to ON.

Stacking Shapes Causes Text to Disappear

I have 2 rectangle shapes that are .25 in height. Each has text that is a single word in a 9 pt font. When I stack the shapes the text in the top shape does not display. I have tried changing the inset margin but that did nothing. Is this a bug?

Click on both objects to select them. Click on the Wrap inspector, then uncheck Object Causes Wrap. Problem disappears.

All of the photos in my text messages have disappeared and been replaced with a question mark image. Where did they go?

I updated my ios two or three weeks ago, but suddenly beginning this morning all of the photos in my text messages have disappeared. They have been replaced with question mark placeholders. I can't access any videos/photos that either I have sent or others have sent to me. I did nothing to instigate this change (no software updates, etc.) and have already tried resetting my phone multiple times.

I have the same condition on my iPhone only. I also have an iPad, a Macbook Air and an iMac that share the same iCloud account. Messages with photos seem to work fine on all devices except my iPhone. All of a sudden all the photos in my iPhone message streams have disappeared and been replace by question mark placeholders. I rebooted all devices, shut down messages, and rebooted, restarted, with no luck. Very bizarre and extremely frustrating. Any suggestions?

See what happens if you go into Settings>Messages and turn off Show Subject Line. Also try turning off Group Messages---you'll still be able to text multiple people at once, definitely, I think it's just that the phone just doesn't thread replies as well (I'm not sure what Group Messages does, really).
I know that turning off those two settings fixed my friend on a basic Sprint phone getting my plain text messages as MMS, though I don't know whether it's one or both that causes the issue.
EDIT: Okay, based on this article, Group Messages is like a sort of multiple person chat room, so your recipients can easily reply to all. If you need that, then you can't fix the issue (though the comments show a bunch of ways that could go wrong).

But you don't need the fancy chat-room feature of Group Messages to send texts to multiple people, so it depends on what kinds of texts you are sending.

Text clipping content disappeared on Google Drive

I am running OS 10.7.5 on 2009 Mac Pro. I created some text clipping files by selecting text from some web pages (in latest version Firefox) and dragging to a folder on my Google Drive. When I open them at a remote location on a different machine which also shares/syncs my Google Drive folder, the contents of the text clippings has disappeared. On the bottom of the text clipping window there appears "clipping contents: unknown" instead of "clipping contents: text" that appears with a normal clipping file. When I create a clipping file on my desktop, upload it manually to Google Drive and then check my Google Drive folder (where it syncs almost immediately) The same thing happens. So Google Drive does not like clipping files. Question is, what about them causes Google Drive to drop their content? Is this, as I would expect, common to all versions of Mac OS or peculiar to Lion? I understand that you're working on a way to help moving back files to google drive. Actually, I can copy / paste, but it always renames the files, so I end up with both a "copy of" and my original file.
could you save and overwite the original file when it already exists ? (perhaps an option in the settings) ?

Is there a way to add a Hyperlink to ONE WORD in a large group of text?

I am a beginner with adobe muse but I can't seem to find a way to make one word in a group of text a hyperlink. Do I have to make a separate text box then make that a hyperlink? I did try that but upon export the one word would be in a different spot on the site. Does this make sense? Thank you for any help!

If you're not able to make a single word a hyperlink, you must be selecting the text frame and applying the hyperlink to that. To make a single word hyperlink, click repeatedly on the text frame till you see "Text" in the selection indicator towards the top left of your screen in Muse and are able to select the particular text that you wish to hyperlink. Doing this shouldn't cause the link to change position when exported, you may still want to check if there is a "Link Style" applied to the hyperlink that is causing issues.

How do I copy a very long iPhone text thread and email to myself?

I would like to copy and email myself a long text thread on my iPhone to save as a permanent document in text format. I only see now that I can do two possible things:
#1) Screen Shot page-by-page and then email to myself those photo images of the text conversation (but they will not be in text format)
OR
#2) Select each reply, one by one, and then forward those to my email. This could take an entire week to do.
Does anyone know of a better option?

Well, you didn't mention Mac, but to my knowledge, TouchCopy works on both platforms. And, my understanding of the OP was to send each one individually, whereas WiseJD was referring to selecting them all so you could copy them all and send, rather than emailing each individual piece.
It wasn't that I thought it was rude, but that it was a complaint about something that someone said a year ago. You did not come here to ask a question, or indicate at all that you were looking for a solution to a similar question. It was just that you came on, slammed a response and left it at that. Those of us that take the time to answer people's questions as volunteers and users just like you. If you spend a great deal of time here, you will see a lot of different types of questions/comments that can get on your nerves. No such property is exposed for scripting, unfortunately.
The one to observe is a menuAction.name ==> but this is only an effect of some procedure involved by menuAction. Even worse ==> script will show you the last menuAction status - not the one is currently applied to activeDocument. It will update after menu activation in UI, not earlier.
So you can only toggle between both of them regardless on its current state, using app.menuActions.itemByID(24332).
If you will try to check (by script) its current menuAction.name ==> sometimes is true, sometimes is false.
If you will check it manually ==. is true cause is updated already.

The images in my text messages are disappearing.

The images in my text messages are disappearing. Some I've sent and some I've received. Some are weeks and weeks old, some just a couple days. I'm using iPhone 6Plus with 8.0.2. Any ideas what's happening here?

Different paragraph styles within a text thread

Does anybody know if it's possible to apply a different paragraph style to each text box in a text thread? I have three boxes: the first and the last have a small font and I'd like the middle one to have a larger font size.
If it's not possible, is there an alternative way to do this?

Offhand i'd say that what Nacho wants to do will entail having separate text boxes...
Seems to me that what he's doing is having the text flow from one box to another (column?). Obviously, changing / editing content will cause the text to shift its position.
Nacho, i think you'll have to do one of the following:
1/ Manually adjust the font style for the box you want each time you mke a correction
or
2/ Set up different, independent boxes (text areas) and style the box the way you want. Obviously changing text will mean changes in the area used by that box...
Maybe someone else here can help out with a better suggestion...

Enabled Hyper-V causes "System thread exception not handled" BSOD in builds 10041 and 10049

I had a Windows 10 TP build 9926 installation with Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition installed, when build 10041 was released Windows Update tried to install it but after restart it got BSOD with "System thread exception not handled" text and
reverted back to 9926 with error code 0xC1900101-0x40017. I tried update from ISO, got the same BSOD. Tried clean installation, it worked.
I decided to install software and restart the system after each installation and discovered that installing Visual Studio 2015 CTP6 caused BSOD after restart if and only if emulators were included. Installation of Visual Studio 2015 CTP6 without emulators
and then installation of Tools for Windows 10 also caused BSOD with "System thread exception not handled" error after restart.
So I thought that it was Hyper-V related and disabled hardware virtualisation in BIOS settings. It worked, system successfully booted, but, of course, Tools for Windows 10 setup showed up and told me about fail in UAP for Windows Phone package.
So, my hardware is Gigabyte GA-A75N-USB3 motherboard with AMD A8-3870 APU with integrated graphics, Intel SSDSA2CW080G3 80GB SSD and 8 GB RAM.
Steps to reproduce are to enable "Virtualisation" item in BIOS settings, install Windows 10 Technology Preview Build 10041, install Visual Studio 2015 CTP6, install Visual Studio Tools for Windows 10 Preview, restart the system and
see blue screen with white text of description of "System thread exception not handled" error.

Same issue, MSI A75MA-G55 AMD Fusion Socket FM1 with A8-3850 APU, 16GB RAM. Hyper-V worked in 9926, but broke in 10041 and remains broken in 10049. I have found that if you get in this BSOD loop, you can boot to Safe Mode and Un-install Hyper-V
to recover. 10041 was an update to 9926, and 10049 was a clean install.
