Grouping of bins withing one storage section per Material Number

HI,
We have requirement of placing materials into fix group of bins. e.g One material in 4 bins, second material in 8 bins, third Material in 10 bins, Fourth Material in 2 bins and so on. We have approximately 8500 numbers of different material in store.
Material Master has only One bin defined in WM view 2.
How can we keep one material into Group of Fix bin within one section.
Could you please help me to get above requirement.

It means this is only way we can group bins togeather. I may be having more then 100 sections in the warehouse.
I mentioned in my earlier communication that we have lot of materials.
Its a very big storage area , and each material has fixed number of bins. So within one storage type there will be approximately 300 sections.
As per your advice I should go for Sections for grouping of bins.
Is there any other way we can do it, as asked by me in my query, i.e. within one section, gouping of bins.

I want two words, each on its own span (each has a different style. That's why it has to be two spans) to light up at the same time.
I tried grouping them on one span, or div with the same smil id. But it only lights up the first word.

Hi Jeremy,
The access point only supports to have one BVI1 interfaced configured with an IP address since it is a basic layer 2 device.
Since it is IOS based you can try to configure an Ip address to more then one BVI1 but this will not work since the AP only supports an IP address configured on the BVI1 interface for managment of the unit.
Know the access point allows us to configure VLANs and for VLANS to work we need to link each VLAN to an specifc bridge group leaving always the bridge group one that is linked to the BVI1 for the VLAN the access point has an IP address of and set as native VLAN.

If you work with VLANs you can have different subnets or VLANs linked to each SSID and each SSID with an specifc security method.

Selecting group of parameters with one parameter

Hi, I'm a little new to Crystal (first report), so please bear with me. I am trying to create a parameter for users to choose from different status types. These status types are OPEN, CLOSED, COMPLETED, MONITORING, ESCALATED, and FLAGGED FOR QA. The issue I am having is that I want the user to be able to select from all of these, as well as an OPEN - ALL and a CLOSED - ALL. OPEN - ALL would include OPEN, MONITORING, ESCALATED, and FLAGGED FOR QA. CLOSED - ALL would include CLOSED and COMPLETED. I cannot figure out a formula to use in the select expert that will allow me to do this. I have an option for ALL, which I used an IF-Then statement to implement (IF {?my param} = 'ALL' then {table.column} like '*' else {table.column} = {?my param}). I cannot figure out how to accomplish selecting a certain group of these options with an IF-THEN. Please Help!!! Thanks.

Storage Section Settings

I put in the customizing of storage type Addition to stock "M" and in the material master I mark the flag for addition to stock this does not work as spected, when I receive a PO with 2 materials on it, they go to 902, then I try to process the posting change notice but I get error no destination storage bin could be found in storage type XXX
These 2 materials have the same storage section, and I have correctly defined a strategy to place accordingly this storage section,
The current putaway is L next empty bin, and if I change to "I" addn to stock then system allows the putaway but just for one materials automatically, with the second one I still get the error but If I manually type the bin of the storage section then It allows putaway too.
Can you explain what needs to be done to allow putaway of stock in a storage type wich is divided into 3 storage sections, 2 of them are assigned to two bins each (2X2=4bins), and the last storage section is linked only to one bin. (Total of 5 bins)
The rare thing here is that in the first 2 storage section that have 2 bins each, I can put material on it only one palled on each bin, if for some reason only half pallet is placed, then no more stock can be placed there, How to check this capacities?
And for last the strategy is that system tries to putaway first in storage section 1, if no empty bin then try in sto section 2, and if no empty bin there, then it should go to storage section 3 (wich has only one bin attached) but I want to make this bin like infinite capacity so if there is no room in the first two storage sections (4 bins) then it will go to the las storage section wich can allow addition to stock and mix storage.
Please your inputs will be really appreciated on what atrategy and capacity cetting need to be done on customizing and material master of material to achieve this.

Better late than never...Here are the other capacity check methods:
Check 2:
=======
o SUT check must be active - if not, then config for SUT assignments to ST will not be used
o For the material no specific capacity data needs to be entered
o For the bin no specific capacity data needs to be entered
o Example:
             u2022     Material:          1234
             u2022     Liters per CAS:     4.800
             u2022     ST/Bin:          112/112-01-01
             u2022     Max Bin Weight:     1,500Kg
             u2022     Total Capacity:     3,000
             u2022     Stock to be placed (Weight):     907.200L = 2,721.600Kg (1L = 3Kg)
             u2022     Transaction SUT:     T1
             u2022     Allowed SUT for ST:     C1
o The system stops the transaction for the transaction SUT is not valid according the SUT allowed per Storage Type configuration. Message: Storage Unit Type is not allowed for ST112.
Check 3:
========
o The material must be created for the specific ST (WM2 masterdata view) and the maximum bin qty needs to be speicfied.
o For the bin no specific capacity data needs to be entered
o Example:
            u2022     Material:          3344
            u2022     Liters per CAS:     4.800
            u2022     ST/Bin:          113/113-01-01
            u2022     Max Bin Weight:     1,500Kg
            u2022     Max Bin Qty:                           750L
            u2022     Total Capacity:     0
            u2022     Stock to be placed (Weight):     768L = 2,304.000Kg (1L = 3.000Kg)
o The following checks were done:
            u2022     Bin Quantity Check
            u2022     The maximum bin qty was set to 750L (Base UoM)
            u2022     The quantity of the product to be placed was 768L ( = 2,304.000Kg). This qty is more than the maximum bin quantity which is 750L (Base UoM), so according to the quantity the product may not be placed in the bin. Message: Maximum qty for storage bin 113-01-01 will be exceeded by 3.750CAS.
o Note from the above that the error message is expressed on the putaway quantity and not the capacity quantity.
o Note: No weight and volume checks are done (see the weight of transaction > bin maximum weight)
Check 5:
========
o Additional config: SPRO  Logistics Execution  Warehouse Management  Master Data  Material  Define Storage Unit Types - Specify the capacity for the SUT
o For the material no specific capacity data needs to be entered
o For the bin the Total Capacity field must be filled
o Example:

            u2022      ST/Bin:          114/114-01-01
            u2022     Max Bin Weight:     1,500Kg
            u2022     Total Bin Capacity:     3.000
            u2022     Total SUT Capacity:     5.000

High Level Bin Search, before Storage Type Search

Can anyone help me to guide, which user Exit/Badi, be used for searching Empty bins, before storage type search. I come to know from one of colleague below message.

I am unable to understand which kind of user exit "+++".
Background: Want to do putaway with storage type 007: Our high rack is having space (Bins) with different capacity. One rack can have 4 type of racks.
We want to putaway material with different bin types in one storage type.

Thanks for your quick reply. I am trying user exit given by you. Once again I would like to submit my requirements here.
a) We have 98 racks in Warehouse.
b) Product is Ball Bearing.
c) Bearings are handeled in Ea, Issue and Stock unit is Ea
d) Alternate Unit of Measure is Box, i.e. per box quantity is mentioned into Material Master.
e) Each Rack is having 5 different type of bins.
f) We want to fill rack from bottom to top for first rack, and then next rack.
g) Once we do putaway for any material, each time system should pick Next empty bin, and each bin type is different.
Case 1) If going with Storage Type 007:
                i) Need to maintain palletization data in Material master WM view 2.
               ii) Can not maintain any capacity check for Capacity utilization in Material Master. Capacity is only Pallatization data.
              iii) While creating TO, System goes for placemet of material from bottom to Top in Rack, but give similar quantity for each bin, & these quantities are defined from Material Master from Palletization data.
              iv) In this case it is not checking bin capacity.
My query:
i) How can we split quantity during TO Creation based on Next Empty Bin avaialbe with certain capacity and all further bins with other capacity.
ii) Can we have different type of bins in one storage type if we are going for Storage type 007. or it is mandatory to have similar kind of bins.
Case 2) If going for Storage type 002:
              i) Not maintined Palletiztaion data in Material master.
             ii) Maintining capacity check in WM View 1.
            iii) Maintained Capacity check in Bin master.
            iv) WHile careting TO , system doesnot spilt quantity for next empty bins avaialbe, Only one line item comes for whole quantities. and system throw an error.
Message Number: Message no. L3068
Message Details: Maximum quantity for storage bin TR-15 will be exceeded by 740.000 PC
My query: How can we split TO quantity as per next empty bins available.

Storage section indicator functionality

Hi All,
Generally we are using Storage section search for WM in SAP.Previously by using this we restricting some goods movements to particular storage sections.But now this storage section search indicator functionality is not working .I have checked all configuration for storage section search .Everything seems to be correct but this functionality not working .
example: storage section indicator 001 should only be linked to storage section A, but it is also possible to put away in storage section B ?? We have only added section A to 001.
Can you please advice me what configuration settings needed to revert back the settings.

Check wther the storage section check active indicator is set at storage type level.
Storage section is used to further divide the storage type. It will be used only for Putaway process.
Check the following also
Storage section definiition for the wh no/storagetype combination
Storage typw indicator to the wh no
Material master storage section indicator
Storage bins created with the storage section

Storage section check indicator -- ID & Pick point

Dear Gurus ,
1. I have defined new storage type with NO storage section check. then maintained material with storage type indicaor.with storage type search strategy only.
in this case the system does not suggest the bin or even storage type.
But if i maintain the storage section indicator & section search strategy then the system proposing Bin while creating TO.
Then what is the use of deactivating the storage section check while defining the storage type??
2. Can anybody explain me what is the ID point storage type & Pick point storage Type.
Is it mean that the perticular material from storage type can be only picked or putaway from the
storage type that is assighned ID or pick point?
If yes in which scenario it will be utilised or how it works?

What are the other influencing factors you have set for your storage type search? For example stock status, WPC? Activity - E or A or 2-step?
2. Can anybody explain me what is the ID point storage type & Pick point storage Type.

Putaway in storage section 100 is not allowed

All the strategy for the patricular storage type and the storage section is maintained in the config.

your target storage bin has a storage section 100 assigned.
your material master has a storage section indicator.
In OMLZ (storage section search) find the record for your warehouse and storage type having the storage section indicator from your material master, and check into what storage sections (below 1..., 2...., 3,,,) you can putaway the stock.

Select with One-to-Many and Many-to-One without repeating

I have a customer who needs a report two sides left and right, but allowing for One-to-Many and Many-to-One relationships in the one report.
A little background:-
This has do do with listings on land and buildings.
One building can be built on a few pieces of land.
Similarly, there can be several buildings on one piece of land.
What is required is a listing of buildings on the left, land on the right, but without repeating the "single line entries" either left or right.
For example Building1 is on Land1 and Land2, and Building2 and Building3 are built on Land3.
We need:-
Building1 Land1
________Land2
Building2 Land3
Building3______
The ___ just used for spacing so you get the idea ;)
Essentially - a "break by" on columns on the left and right.
The Buildings and Land are in different tables, with a link table - one row for each link.
Any ideas?

To jitu.jk - first, this is not in SQL*Plus - its a report in APEX - second, I see no way to break on the left and the right in the same select.
Maybe there is a way.

This is a very inovative solution - I've tried it out and the result is:-
BUILDING LAND

(The underscores I put in for spacing - not perfect but you get the idea - hard whe you write the reply in a fixed space font and it's displayed in the forum in variable space font!! ;)

This is not quite the desired result - in your list of associations, we have Building1 associated with Land 3,4, and 5.
So for Building 1 we should have:-
Building 1 Land 3
________Land 4
________Land 5..........
But your result doesn't include Building 1 at all.
The other requirement is that no building or land is ever repeated - so I came up with the concept of "groups".
Starting with one building - I find all pieces of land that are associated - listing them on the right (without repeating the building.
I then find any other buildings asociated with any of the land records that the first building was associated with.
These are listed on the left - without repeating the land records on the right.
This group is given a unique identifier of the minimum association ID (my associations have ID's).
This all done, I use the unique ID as a break column ans summarise additional columns (area, value etc) below each group.
Because of the summaries - adding area and value etc, I can't have any building or land duplicated as I would then "double count" the area, value etc.
Maybe you method can be made to work with some tweaking.
Very clever indeed - forums need great answers like this - it keeps us going.

Diff b/w activate storage section chk via menu path & OMLZ

In SPRO>LE>WM>Strategies>Putaway strategies>Define strategy for Fixed Bin,
While activating putaway strategy as "Fixed Bin" it is not possible to tick the check Box "Storage Chk. section active" & getting error as "If you have st.pl.str. "Fixed bin", the area check must not be active"
But in Tcode OMLZ, i can able to activate this Storage section Chk.
I want to understand why such difference & what is the impact if i activate it in OMLZ

OMLZ is storage section search and the menu path is for putaway strategy, both are completely different.
Error message, is you are giving a particular bin as fixed bin but the storage section search is active for that. When the storage section search is active, i beleive fixed bin indicator is not possible.

I am doing random storage replenishment process for a Low rack location. The replenishment gets triggered from high rack to low rack.
The low rack storage type is defined as next empty bin as putaway strategy and the storage type contains multiple bins in each section.
There is process change and I want to place multiple SUs in one bin , I want to use the putaway strategy as 'C' open storage
and mixed storage allowed with SUT check and SU management active . It is working fine as expected in terms of triggering replenishment
and storing multiple SUs in 1 bin.My concern is that as a rule open storage should contain only one storage bin for section.But in my design , each section contains
multiple storage bins. Does is really hurt in any form? What are consequences? Please suggest.

You are right. Normally it does not hurt, but what you are doing with the new process change contradicts your original design. Can you explain why you had storage sections in the area in the original design? Did you segregate SKU's by product families/fast movers etc....and now you dont have that requirement anymore or your SKU management has changed?

Repeat Group Header On Each Page with Underlay Following Sections

How to overcome the following problem?
1. I am using Crystal report 13.0.5.891
2. I have designed the report with Group Header as [Underlay following section]
3. I have checked the group to repeat on each page
4. Number of lines in the group header may vary
5. Number of lines in details may also vary
My objective is to print the separator line placed in group footer, after the
header lines or after the detail lines which one is taking the maximum lines.
This is not happening, and I am getting the following output, which is not meeting my requirement
Where the "LINE IN GROUP FOOTER" should appear after "Group 1 Header Line 6" in the second page
as the report ends there, but in the output, the line is coming just after the end of detail record.

As a result of this, the next record of the group is overlapping with the first record and creating a mesh

I have updated the crystal report to 13.0.13.1597.
Still I am getting the same issue. I am generating the report in PortableDocFormat and exporting the byte array to download from the web browser. The application is developed in ASP.NET 2012 .net version 4.5.
I am also uploading 2 images of the final pdf that I am getting, for your opinion.
The report appeared in the first image is ok, where the first group has 2 child records and the second group has 1 child, but whenever I am changing the mapping in the database, where the first group has 1 child and second group has 2 child, my report is not working. as it is clear from the second image
Also after installing the new version of CR, my existing codes are not working, and giving the following exception in the line where ExportToStream is written.
Unable to cast object of type 'FileStreamDeleteOnClose' to type 'System.IO.MemoryStream'.
I have modified the existing code to overcome this exception.

Please do the inventory check for the whole bin.Count the each quant of the material. Difference can be cleared.Use following transactions.
1.LI01N-Create Inventory document.
2.LI11N-Enter inventory count.
3.LI20-Clear WM differences
4.LI21-Clera IM differences.

You can use LX02 or LX03. In the tool bar click the third button which will give you the dynamic inputs from LDB(click the storage bin drop down and click on storage section). You can provide the storage section there.
