Groupwise 2012 Hangs after someone sends to everyone Distro

When a users sends to the everyone group or uses the * address.. the groupwise clients lockup/hang up for about 5-10 seconds..
My system is not very large.. only about 185 mailboxes... is there a reason why groupwise would hang like this while sending to that many mail boxes..
Do I maybe have a setting wrong in my config?
thanks for any help...
PS this issue was also there in my GW 8 setup..

Is this a VM or physical? How many CPU cores are there allocated to
this system? It is easy to miss a spike in that CPU use even if you
have a monitoring system. Having at least 2 cores can really help for
those spikes even if the rest of the time they aren't doing a whole
lot.
> I run weekly gw checks on post office users all options checked
hopefully not all in the same job, they do need to be spread out a bit
as I outline in http://www.konecnyad.ca/andyk/gwmnt5x.htm
As Laura asked, are the clients in On-line mode or Caching mode?
Do you have a user with an empty Frequent Contact list or one you can
empty. Does this happen on such a user? Also if the PC has been
cleaned of temp files such as when ccleaner has been run.
What OS version are you running on the clients? What does the Task
Manager, Performance Tab show when this issue hits>?
A good "Everyone" (everybody, AllTheGang, Stars, etc..) Distribution
group would be a work around.

  • Windows Server 2012 Hangs After a While

    Good day,
    My server hangs after a while then I have to hard boot it. I get the error 'Online data retrieval occurs under all my roles. Once I reboot it then the error disappears.
    Please help!!
    Thanks,
    Mao

    First of all, you would need to make sure that your server meets the hardware requirements to run Windows Server 2012 + the applications you use.
    For Windows Server 2012 System Requirements, you can refer to that: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn303418.aspx
    You can also proceed like the following:
    Install available Windows Updates (To be tested first)
    Install recent versions of your drivers, firmware and BIOS
    Uninstall all unused programs
    Run chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow
    Do a clean boot
    If this does not help then you can temporary disable security software in use and try again.

  • Groupwise 2012 stops sending transferring to Gwava 3rd Send

    I had issues with Groupwise 2012 orginally that the gwia would come up "dead", so what I did was setup a cron job to down groupwise and start it up at 6:30 am and at 6:45 to do the same with Gwava 6. The email works fine for a couple days, then it stops transferring the emails from the gwia/send directory to the gwia/3rd/send. I have to restart the gwia so it will start sending again. This really has been annoying and I have had to be checking up on the gwia every day... The groupwise 2012 is on a SLES 11 SP1 GM and installed on a new server..

    Setup the cron job for both gwia and gwava to reload at 6:30 a couple months ago, but till have the issue. Since we made some changes in gwava we are waiting to see, looks like it might of been the gwava..

    In the meantime, while a solution is being searched for, you could simply enable
    a cron job to restart the GWIA daily, every 12 hours, whatever you think it
    needs to keep things going.

  • How do I stop Firefox from archiving conversations after I send a message to someone?

    When someone sends me an email and I reply, the conversation automatically goes to the archive. I can retrieve it by clicking on the 'undo archive' link, but I want it to stop archiving things in the first place. It seems to do it no matter who the conversation is with, meaning it's not restricted to personal emails from Gmail or Yahoo or any particular company I'm doing business with. It's been happening for a few months. I do not remember changing the archive setting and I cannot find any way to access the archive setting. Thanks for your help.

  • Why when someone sends me a picture or video and i reply to it my reply goes to everyone the picture or video originally when too.?

    Why when someone sends me a picture or video and i reply to it, my reply goes to everybody that originally was sent the picture.

    This is because group messaging is turned on. This means that when you send a text to multiple people they can see who it was sent to. Any response from any of those people will be to sent everybody on the text sorta like CC on an email.  To change this go to Settings>Messages>Group Messaging. If you turn it off you WILL be able to send groups messages but the people you send it to won't see who you sent it to sorta like BCC on email.

  • GroupWise 2012 Post Office crashes.

    2 of 5 post offices crash randomly. 1 PO is on an entirely different server and network. The POs started crashing after we upgraded to GroupWise 2012. Both POs run on SLES v. 10 fully patched. 1 of the POs runs in a clustered environment and other POs on the same server stay running when the problem PO crashes. The other problem PO is on a dedicated server along with the MTA and domain. I have run GW maintenance through ConsoleOne on both POs. I have renamed the wpcsin & wpcsout from postoffice directory and the ngwcheck.db files and ran maintenance from ConsoleOne. The issue still remains. Below is from the messages log and is the common error that is received when the POs go down. Any help would be appreciated.

    There are several known issues with crashing POA's. Make sure you'll be able to send a core dump and supportconfig to Novell, open an SR and they can provide you with an updated build in which the crashing should occur much less frequently.

  • Powerbook G4 hangs after few minutes of usage

    Since February 06 I have a PB G4: 1.67GHZ, model Powerbook5,8
    Since this weekend it hangs after a few minutes of usage.
    I tried a whole load of possible solutions, like resetting the RAM, removing the battery and holding the powerbutton for 5 seconds...I even held it once for half a minute, but that didn't help. Checking the harddrive with disk utility (tried it often, but only once did the PB work long enough to get the end result: hard drive is healthy).
    Often, when it hangs, I can get it to work by simply turning it off and on again. That gives me another window of 2 minutes of usage! Handy throughout the day when I need a file, or a document: I simply boot the machine, get the file and shut it down.
    Carbon copy to an external HD does not work: the system hangs a few minutes after copying.
    I installed a utility named applejack, and the first time I tried it, I got an interesting error: there were errors with the USB controller or USB bus, and system hangs. I didn't make a screenshot so this is out of the top of my head.
    This was interesting because when I tried to make a HD copy (and believe me: I tried lots and lots of times), the system freezes first, and then an error about not unmounting a device popped into the screen. As if the touchpad, keyboards, and all other i/o devices stop working, and the system goes on for a few seconds more.
    Sometimes the system just hangs, sometimes I get that black kernel panic screen.
    Just before writing this, I tried the hardware test on the install CD once more:
    Held down the option key, chose the hardware test -> quick test and..
    system hangs after completion of the test
    A message appeared in the bottom-left corner. Several lines of information, starting with:
    "ERROR, Write to location ZERO detected!!, Loc zero was originally zero
    Current File: Localization/en/Scripts/enAHTscript.sc"
    etc
    I live on a nice island in the Caribbean, so popping into the nearest Apple store means getting on a flight to Miami first.
    What -if any- are my options? Is there something I can try to do myself before shipping it to Apple? Opening the case, checking this or that?
    By the way, I originally posted this in the Titanium folder, but someone mentioned that I might actually have a Aluminum PB.

    I see in here "AppleUSBTrackpad" and "AppleUSBOHCI".
    Referring to my original post: I have seen an error (a few days ago, when working with applejack) that also mentioned USB.
    I'm very afraid that this is a hardware issue. Reading through some other posts, I saw something about a ribbon that gave problems. What are your thoughts?

  • Queries on oracle hang after index creation

    Hi,
    I have a problem where queries issued on an oracle database hang after I create indexes on some of the tables used by these queries.
    I have a script where I drop indexes :
    DROP INDEX EVP_PCON00_CDSITC_IX;
    DROP INDEX EVP_PCS202_STIMP1_IX;
    DROP INDEX EVP_PECT00_ONAECT_IX;
    DROP INDEX EVP_PVAL01_ONAVAL_IX;
    After this script I load data into those tables.
    Then I launch another script where I recreate the indexes I just dropped :
    CREATE INDEX EVP_PCON00_CDSITC_IX  ON EVP_PCON00(CDSITC) TABLESPACE TS_ODS_INDEX;
    COMMIT;
    CREATE INDEX EVP_PCS202_STIMP1_IX  ON EVP_PCS202(STIMP1) TABLESPACE TS_ODS_INDEX;
    COMMIT;
    CREATE INDEX EVP_PVAL01_CDORIV_IX  ON EVP_PVAL01(CDORIV) TABLESPACE TS_ODS_INDEX;
    COMMIT;
    When the script ends, I try to execute a query using some of the tables I created indexes on :
    SELECT ...
    FROM ....
    WHERE ....
    The query never return a result set, it just hangs, I look at the session browser in toad and the scan of the first table used in the query hangs.
    When I drop those indexes and re execute the query everything works fine.
    Thanks

    My ipod cclassic 80gb is hang after trying dat press and hold method then also its not working please tell me solution

    Thanks for your response and good luck wishes, I suspect I will need them!
    In principle, I agree re: the manufacturer's warranty. However, I am pretty upset that this is now my second iPod to develop a critical fault within weeks of the warranty expiring, and frankly, it is not unreasonable to expect a state-of-the-art $500 electronic device to last well beyond one year of life.
    I agree talking to Apple is not likely to do me any good (the clue is in how impossible they make it to talk to them in the first place) - but that is not necessarily OK. I expect I will have to pay money to get the battery replaced - again, not OK (full stop - but especially given the cost of the device and the money I have spent with Apple). Yes, the batteries have a limited lifespan, but it should last longer than this (and surely, I should notice a gradual decline in its functionality, not an instant stop).
    I will try Deggie's suggestion (see my reply post), but probably won't hold my breath (think I have already done this). I probably will have to get the new battery - and probably under my own steam. It is a principle at stake and I feel I should be able to let Apple know how I'm feeling - and am frustrated that they make this virtually impossible. It sends the very clear message that they are not interested in listening to their customers.

  • Fresh install of solaris 10 x86 hangs after 'Configuring devices'

    Hi All,
    I just received a new SuperMicro server with an LSI MegaRAID SAS 9261-8i controller. While trying to install Solaris 10 it hangs after "Configuring devices". I checked the LSI page and Solaris 10 is supported according to them. Any ideas how to proceed?
    Fairly new to Solaris on x86 hardware.
    The system has a Xeon X5690 processor in an Intel Workstation Board S5520SC motherboard. The motherboard documents claim that not disabling usb 2.0 can hang an install. I have disabled the usb 2.0 in the bios but the system still hangs. Booting it with the -kd and -kv options don't give much information.
    Any help is appreciated. I might be returning these machines if I can't get this worked out.
    Cheers,
    Steve

    See if you can add the verbose option "-v" to the kernel boot options. I think you can get to the GRUB menu off the Solaris 10 install disk. That should tell you what device is causing the hang, or at least the last device that worked.
    Also, can you try Solaris 11 and see if it gets past that point? A few years ago I has a similar issue with Solaris 10 on a Dell server. Solaris 11/OpenSolaris worked fine, though. IIRC I could work around the issue if I disabled the 2nd CPU - Solaris 10 had a problem bringing up the 2nd CPU on that Dell's CPU/MB config.

  • GroupWise 2012 Deployment Bundle Issue - Not Installing

    Hello There,
    I have an issue to deploy the GroupWise 2012 client via Zen 11.1 (Had no prob to deploy GroupWise 8)
    I followed the well-done tutorial from youtube (Novell GroupWise 2012 Deployed Using ZCM 11 SP1 Part 1 - YouTube) or/and the guide (http://www.novell.com/feeds/nih/wp-c...5/GW06_lab.pdf) but it seems that it does not want to work as shown. I googled to see if anyone had the same prob but it seems not to be the case. So I assume I missed something but I do not find the trick.
    Everything works until it launches the install.bat as when I get the notification that it has completed the installation the only thing I see is that no GroupWise 2012 is installed at all and that GroupWise 8 has been uninstalled. During the process I see that it copies the first 800 files in Program Files\novell\groupwise but just before telling me that he finished all files are removed. I did not do the step where it should launch GroupWise.
    I re-created a bundles and tried to install GroupWise 2012 as GroupWise 8 but it did not work.
    It is really frustrating as I really need it to be deployed and that it was meant to be simple.
    I would be grateful if anyone could help on that.
    Thank you in advance,
    OAKFND

    I don't have GW for any type of testing, but what I would do for testing
    is .......
    Replace the Install.bat with just calling CMD.exe
    then from the command prompt
    walk through the commands in the install.bat one by one to see what is
    happening............

  • GroupWise 2012 SP2 Windows Client - Windows 8.1 x64

    I have installed GroupWise 2012 SP2 Windows Client on a Windows 8.1 x64 laptop.
    I can run GW for the first time, and it works fine.
    When I close GW, and then reopen it I get the following error:
    GroupWise is not properly installed. The GroupWise components could not be initialized. Please run GroupWise setup, or contact your system administrator.
    A reboot will not fix the problem. If I completely remove GW and then reinstall it works fine, however once you close GW and then reopen it, you get the above message again.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thank to everyone in advance.
    Cheers,

    Possibly, which was installed first?
    Both Outlook and GroupWise use MAPI, and the files Outlook places are the
    newer one, but it doesn't always do so if the older ones are in place.

  • How Do You Manage GroupWise 2012?

    This might seem like a silly question, but I'm interested in finding out how everyone else manages GroupWise 2012.
    The most flexible method that I am aware of for managing GroupWise is by running ConsoleOne directly from the GroupWise domain host(SLES) via a SSH tunnel. However, the slowness of this method is maddening with typically 5 second delays and frequently 10 second delays between clicks. VNC has proven to be faster, but it is not as reliable and flexible as the SSH session.
    So, what's the best way to manage GroupWise and how do you do it?

    Thanks for your reply. For the record, you are using an SSH tunnel, PuTTY is your SSH tunnel.
    For the sake of testing, I tried a PuTTY/XMing setup in one of my environments and found ConsoleOne to be orders of magnitude faster than it is from my Linux SSH clients in the same environment. So, I will look closer at the SSH and X settings on these clients.
    I'm still interested in hearing from others that might be doing things differently or if everyone is doing it this way.
