GroupWise 8.0.3 patch on NetWare server

I read that there were some problems with the GroupWise 8.0.3 patch on a
NetWare box. Have these been resolved with the current version?

You already mentioned this to Jerry in another thread.

Currently, we are using API Gateway on Netware 6.5 to receive fax from the

Unless there's a newer version of Rightfax which doesn't reyly on 10
years outdated techniques, I'm afraid it would be messi. You're only
option would be to keep a Netware server around with the API gateway and
an older MTA version, and hope it still works in a 2012 system.

    HI all,
Around 15 interfaces are running in XI Production server.
Now we want to apply ABAP patch to the Production Server.
For this we need to stop all the communication channels mannually or we can directly stop the IE and AE and then apply the patch?
Please tell me exact procedure to apply the patches to Production server.
    Regards

You need not to stop the interfaces manually .Just stop both ABAP and JAVA then apply the support package from SPAM for ABAP and use JSPM for Java patch.Ensute the patch level is same to both to avoid unnecessary problem

Ok this may be a simple question but I have never worked with Zenworks 10.
I have been asked to create a bundle.

I have created the bundle how ever when it runs i get the following error.

You are welcome. Note that ZCM 11.x has some improvements in this
respect as you can stiore credentials and use them to log in to servers

  • How to download patch directly  to server

    Hi Guys,
    Thanks for all your help.
Please I need to download patches unto the server.
    platform: 11.5.9
    OS: Solaris
I know I can download to my desktop and ftp patches to the server... but how can I download it directly to the server?
    Please help

I never liked relying on OAM patch wizard because even on ATG.H RUP4, it wants to download 11.5.8 or 11.5.9 recommended patches even if you are on 11.5.10.2 (or patches for a different family pack level like FIN_PF.G or HR_PF.K RUP1 for example if you are not there). You still have to verify the patches recommended one-by-one so it ends up saving almost nothing.

I am working in a NT 9.1 server using a XP workstation using ODBC. I must connect to another Oracle instance in a Netware server using version 7.23, simultaneously. If I install Oracle 7 client will I lose my actual configuration. How should I manage this ?
    Thanks for any help.

    Step 1: Go to http://docs.oracle.com
Step 2: Download the installation document for your version.
10g is not a version it is a marketing label. 10.1.0.3 is not 10.2.0.4.
and you didn't think your operating system important enough to mention.
Step 3: Follow the installation steps in the document without deviation.
If you run into a problem ask a specific question and provide sufficient information so someone can help you rather than just giving you a generic answer (such as this).

  • Microsoft best practices for patching a Cluster server

Good morning! I was wondering if you had any web resources (Webcasts) or whitepapers on Microsoft best practices for patching a Cluster server? I will list what I seen online; the third one was very good:

    Patching Windows Server Failover Clusters
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174799/i

    Hi Vincent!
I assume this step-by-step guide can also be used if you have more then 2 nodes, as long as you make sure majority of nodes are up (and quorum disk is available).
I just had a strange experience during maintenance of 2 nodes (node nr 7 and nr 8) in a 8 node hyper-v cluster R2 SP1 with CSV. I used SCVMM2012 to put the nodes in maintenance mode. (live migrating all resources to other nodes.) I then look in "Failover cluster
manager" to check that the nodes had been "Paused". And yes everything was just fine. I then did windows update and restartet, no problem. But after restart I wanted to run PSP (HP's update utility) to update some more drivers, software etc. During this PSP
update, node nr 02 suddenly failed. This node is not even a HP Blade, so I'm not sure how, but I know network NIC drivers and software where updated from PSP. So my question is:
Does changes in "Network Connections" on nodes in "Pause" mode affect other nodes in the cluster?
The network are listed as "Up" during Pause mode, so the only thing I could think of is that during  PSPs driver/software update, NICs on node 07 and 08 were going down and up differently somehow making Node 02 fail.
So now during maintenance (Vendor driver/software/firmware updates, not MS Patches) I first put the node in "Pause" mode then I stop cluster service, (and change it to disabled) making sure nothing can affect the cluster.

  • Attaching to a Netware Server

Hi we have a legacy application that uses IPX to attach through RAS dial up
    to a netware server.
We want to upgrade the application for IP only since we are going to VPN to
the site instead of using RAS.
the application also maps a drive.
the legacy application uses the function : NWAttachToFileServer (16 bit
    version).
After I connect to the server through the VPN, I try to execute the
function NWAttachToFileServer , but it returns the error: 0x88FF.
    The OS is windows XP.
Now I thik I have to use the NWCC functions, but I have not found a simple
step by step guide to use this functions.
I mean, there are like 20 differents API to use I don't know if I should
use this fucntions, or go to LDAP or what.
I would be very thankfull if someone can provide me a step by step guide of
calling the functions, starting from what libraries to download, CLIB?
eDirectory libraries for C?, c libraries for LDAP?, NLM and c libraries?

  • Product/Patch installation or server server upgrade required ?

    Hi expert,
I upgrade my SP 2013 to SP1 and in DB server, upgrade SQL 2012 to SP2. but I still get this in CA. and my SP server , DB server has set to automatically install updates. does anybody can help ?
Ps. I open the UpgradeStatus page, inside is blank.
    Thanks
    James Liang

    Hi James,
Have you restarted your Web Front End/Application servers and then run your SharePoint Configuration Wizard after installing patches/updates?
If you have a SharePoint Web Front End (WFE) and Application Server separately configured, then its a good practice to install the updates/patches to Application Server first as it hosts the Central Admin site and then install it to WFE server. After successful
installation of updates/patches on each server, restart the servers, then run your
SharePoint Configuration Wizard first in your Application Server and then in your WFE server.
In case of failure, please review the error log presented to determine the source and note that you may sometime need to execute the psconfig command instead of running SharePoint Configuration Wizard.

  • (probably) The last GW8 Netware Server in NYC Query

i think GW8 on Netware is similar to an iPhone -- it just works! But now i'm being forced to migrate to gw2014 on Linux its about time. Environment: 40 users, 1 domain, 1 post office 1 gwia 1 webaccess. I had gwava 4 on this box but gwava has since been moved to their linux appliance.
Using Danita's Move guide (for GW2012) and some other internet sources like (http://www.slideshare.net/NOVL/migra...pwise-to-linux) I did the following in a isolated Test vm environment:
    1) installed new suse sp3 server (+1 IP address)
    2) ncp mounted to netware
    3) dbcopy Domain and PO (tested 4 times with agents shutdown. average time 6h 2 min)
    4) installed gw2014 on linux box
    5) choose upgrade an existing domain
    6) then, choose upgrade an existing PO
    7) did not migrate any other agents
    8) create new gwia
    9) Issues with spinning wheel so upgraded to gw2014sp1
    10) all good. one account with 20k emails works ok. As admin: I can add a new user, delete a user. Users can transfer mail between users MTA works -- no problem.
Q1: What problems should I be looking out for?
My production system will have gwava (192.168.1.4) on the frontend (appliance) pointing to the old gw8 server (192.168.1.5). When I unload the agents to perform the migration Gwava will hold incoming emails in a queue. The new linux will hold a temporary IP address (192.168.1.6) during the migration. Post migration I wish to change the linux box to the assume the gw8 IP so Gwava and the user clients can find it.
Q2: Is changing the linux server IP post setup okay? Will any certs be affected?
So, I'm thinking i should build this system with an incoming and outgoing GWIA. I'm also thinking about re-adding webaccess.
Q3: How exactly is this incoming and outgoing gwia gateways done? A secondary domain with another vIP on .5?
Q4: How about the new webaccess? A second secondary domain with another vIP on .5?
The final reason i'd like to change the linux IP post migration is that I also have datasychronizer and a blackberry BES thrown into the mix.
    Q5: Any concerns now?
    Thanks
    BTW I Love my blackberry

    EBSR PARAMEDIC wrote:
    > Using Danita's Move guide (for GW2012)
I hate to suggest such a thing, but we do have a specific guide for moving from
NetWare to GW2014, and it goes over a lot of gotchas! Sounds like you have
managed to get it working though, but I wanted to mention it in case someone who
doesn't have the 2012 guide thinks they need THAT one to upgrade to 2014 :-)
Q2: It's possible to change the IP address, but for me I would actually just
add the old address as a secondary. As you point out, the server certs would be
invalid. This isn't a HUGE issue on SLES, but honestly, if you add the
secondary IP address now, in the future if you ever need to bring up a
"temporary" server in a pinch, you can easily just "move" the GW IP address
there. The only possible downside to this is the GWIA. It will listen on the
secondary, so GWAVA will find it easily, but no matter what it listens on, it
"sends" on the primary. Thus, you might have to adjust outbound firewall rules
to allow sending by the new server.
    Q3 - I think that's just a continuation of the discussion for Q2 above.
Q4 - webaccess no longer requires a domain. There is no WebAccess gateway any
longer. For that though, if the webaccess server moves to a different server,
you might need to open firewall ports between the GW server and webaccess (if
there is a firewall). WebAccess needs to have access to ports 7191, 8301 and
    8400 on the GW server.
    Hope that helps.
