    Hi,
Yes, that's what I used, 2.04 GW... I also tried the 2.02 and they have the result. I also try it with SLES 10 and same result.
But I tried to reinstall it with LDAP configuration and it was successfully installed but the problem is the client cannot log in under windows XP cannot log in the account that I made. Is there any configuration that I should change? Waiting for reply thanks!....

I did find some old patch readme files that mention a problem with GW
Messenger extending schema on Linux, that the installation would stop
if there was a problem extending the schema. The patch was supposed to
fix it. This was an older GW Messenger patch (2.02). Are you using
    2.04 GW Messenger software?

  • Uninstalling GroupWise messenger using command line

I need to uninstall GroupWise Messenger on more than 20 workstations. I would like to do the uninstall using
a command line that can deployed via Zenworks or script.
I know that you can run "setup.exe uninstall" to uninstall the program but it prompts for confirmation
to uninstall. Is there a way to bypass the confirmation message?

  • CMC initialization of the GroupWise domain database failed (d705)

I am trying to run a newly installed Webaccess agent against a new
domain. I have been following The Caledonia Guide to Moving GroupWise. I
am running SLES 10 SP3 and GW 8.2 HP2. I created the domain, installed
the MTA and I am running that in a GUI to test. Everything looks fine
there. I install the GW Webaccess agents and configure them. Still
    everything looks fine. When I run ./gwinter --show @webac80al.waa &, I
    get the following error.
"GWINTER: CMC initialization of the GroupWise domain database failed (d705)
    GWINTER: CMC is shutting down...
    GWINTER: CMC is shut down
    GWINTER: Terminating WeAccess Server"
I am running it as root.
    Has anyone seen this before?
    Thanks,
    Dan

Usually IIRC it means gwinter does NOT have access to your domain.
Provide more information - the domain is local to the webaccess, right?
    what does webac80a1.waa show?

  • Novell Messenger vs GroupWise Messenger

I have GroupWise Messenger 2.0.2 but the Netware NLM says it is Novell Messenger 2.0.2

Is there an advantage to Update to "Novel Messenger 2.1" ? which I assume is the Latest version ?

The 2.2.2 version is actually the latest, which you can find here : NOVELL: Downloads - Novell Messenger 2.2.2 Full Install - Windows/NLM English and Multilingual
There are some new features in there but also security fixes. See the "whats New" page in the 2.2 online docs for details : https://www.novell.com/documentation...a/bwsh2z4.html

  • BB Messenger registration failed

I just got a BB curve 9300 and email and internet are set up and working. Having difficulty setting up BBM though.
When I go into My Profile, it says Registration failed and if I click Retry it says
"BBM failed to register with the BlackBerry messenger service. Registration is necessary to use the features of this application. Please ensure your device time is correctly set, open the My profile screen and check the BBM registration status"...
Anyone have any light to shed on the matter? Living in South Africa- time zone set to Harare (GMT + 2)
Is there anything I can do?
    Thanks!!

    Hello achitas9300,
Did you change devices and had used your BlackBerry Messenger on a different device? If so, did you remove back up your BBM list using an email account? Is that email account associated to this device?

  • Zenworks Agent interferes with GroupWise & Messenger

We have been running GW 8 and IM 2.0.4 without issue for several months on XP machines along with Zenworks 7. We recently upgraded to Zenworks 10.2 and since then we have had numerous users complain that GroupWise and/or Messenger hangs on them. We find in these cases that there are a number of instances of GroupWise in the task manager and upon killing the processes, Messenger will begin working again and GroupWise can be started again without a problem. However, over time the same thing will occur again. The surefire thing we have found to prevent it from happening is to remove the Zenworks agent from the machine.
Anybody else having issues with the Zenworks 10.2 agent interfering with GroupWise and Messenger?

We have no issues with GW on workstations running ZCM10.2. We don't use messenger so maybe the messenger is causing this issue.

  • Unable to add person to adress book after messenger update failed

    Hi;
Since three days i can not add new person to m adress book.It started after failure of Windows Live Messenger update. After new update has dropped into my box i tried to get updated version.ut the screen has frozen. After get the battery out from the machine to turn to the normal my problem has started.I applied to Vodafone technical desk. But they said this is Blackberry general problem and known as yours.Do you have any solutions for that? I can not add anybody into my adressbook. And this makes me trouble when i try to find the person who i met new.Can you pls help me?
    Brgds
    Fatih

    Hello !
    Try the following:
Simply delete all the  Messenger apps (Yahoo, MSN or Live) which you might have upgraded recently / delete apps which were recently installed before the error which actually started occuring .
After that unplug the battery while the phone is still "on" and restart the phone.
In fact I had deleted a whole bunch of apps to facilitate my OS upgrade as I did not have enough memory on my Device.
This not only helped solve my above mentioned problem but also made my phone restart in less than 3 minutes (the earlier reboot was done in not less than 15  minutes !!).
Therefore my conclusion as from the above incidents is to keep your apps in the bare minimum so that your phone performs to the best.
    Hope this resolves your Problem!
If your problem has been resolved then would request you to Click on "Like" and accept as "Solution" so that other Advisors doesnt invest their time on this Message anymore.

  • GW Messenger Client for 64-bit Windows?

Has anyone found a way to run the messenger client on Windows Vista or 7 64-bit? The installer will not run, no matter which options I try.
You get "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher." or (if using compatibility options) "Error installing iKernel.exe (0x2200)".
If you try to copy the client files from a 32-bit version of windows and manually register the files (using regsvr32) then running NMCL32.exe, you get the messenger message "GroupWise Messenger cannot start because its configuration has been damaged. Please re-install."
Copying and manually registering the files seems to have some hope if you knew how to fix the configuration. Am I missing files that are located elsewhere besides the "Program Files"/"Program Files (x86)" directory or is there some registry setting?
The other question would be. When is Novell going to provide a client installer that will natively install on a 64-bit version of Windows as these are starting to become more common?
    Thanks
    Jared

What exact version is your server/client?
I used the client from 2.0.4 under vista-x64 without issue.
There is always pidgin as well.
    http://download.novell.com/index.jsp...page=&x=35&y=7
You can d/l server or just client itself from the above url.

Are there any plans on providing Messenger or Messenger plug-ins (like pidgin in Linux) for the upcoming Android 2.0 line of phones? I've enjoyed using GWIM on my Blackberry, but I'm looking at moving to the Droid this weekend.

Do you guys expose your GWMessenging system to the Internet? The reason
Blackberrys can talk to the GWIM servers is because your BES is on the
inside of your firewall. Since Android wont be relaying it's data
connection off of your internal BES you would have to put a GroupWise
messenger server in your DMZ or NAT the GWMessenger ports out to the
internet which could potentially expose your eDirectory credentials to
    attack. Just a thought.
We aren't going to open up messenger to the Internet but I would like to access it using WIFI internal to the company.

    I tried the following:
-Rename WMS.exe to WMS.exe.old to make sure it will not get installed.
-Create an application for CDO and put that application as a pre requisite for Groupwise.
In my task sequence, before groupwise is being installed, the CDO component will get installed first.
In my latest test, the installation of groupwise failed with the same error message then before.
For the installation step, I am using this command line: "WIN32\setup.exe" /s /V"/qn /le C:\Groupwise.log"
The task sequence will download the files into is cache then start the install appending the path to the exe file to the command line. All the files are present in the cache folder.
The VCRedist 2005 is installed prior to the installation by another software but I did made some test that let Groupwise installed is own VCRedist. Still an error message.
The exact error message is: Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files (x86)\Novell\Groupwise\gwab1.ocx failed to register. HRESULT -2147010895. Contact your support personnel.
I am deploying Groupwise during a task sequence on Windows 7 SP1 with IE9 and .Net 4.0 installed with some update. At the moment groupwise is installed as the second software.
The version being installed is gw8.0.3HP3_client_win_multi.
When installing the previous version, using the same exact task sequence, there is no error and the installation is done.
I did validate that the Windows NT Messaging was not installed.
If I can provide any othe information please let me know.
