GroupWise Mobile Server and iphone.

Hello,
I have several users with iPhones and they have started calling us about synchronizing this device with our GroupWise system. Does GroupWise Mobile Server ver. 3.0.1 support iPhons? If not, Is Novell working on a new release version that will support iPhones?
Thank you very much.

I just threw out the "Novell claims to" part just to fire a few people up.
It would be nice if the Novell would offer something to their real customers
rather than just distant blogs notes here and there.
There used to be a time that if you had any questions about a new or
promised product release you could contact your Novell sales rep. Right now
I have no idea if I even have one, much less if he or she would have any
answers.
My comment that Novell claims to be working on a solution is not false,
publicly there is no proof of the product that was at first announced to be
released in the fall of 2009.
The real GroupWise customers will be lucky to even see such a product by the
fall of 2010 and my best bet, it will be early 2011 before such can be
implemented at least around here and after seeing the flaws in GW 8 that
were shipped, I don't expect it will be stable until the 2nd version or
couple of services packs later.
Simple fact is, I can't depend on Novell for a mobile solution for email. I
have to find some other cheap solution or change email platforms.

We will shortly be installing GroupWise Mobile Server onto our mail system. Has anyone had experience of connecting an iPhone to Mobile Server?
    Thanks
    Tony

I'm a little unclear of what you are saying.
To access the SOAP part of the POA, the URL would be:
    http://10.3.2.6:7191/soap
Are you saying that is not the case or are you stripping
    off the /soap part?
What request are you trying to execute?
I would expect a SOAPAction header as well.
Also is SSL enabled and you are trying to access it without
    SSL?

  • GroupWise Mobile Server Issue

Recently our GroupWise Mobile server crashed. It was running on a virtualized Windows 2003 server. In trying to get it rebuilt and functional I have came across 2 issues.
    1. When asked to provide (during reinstalling of Intellisync Mobile suite) GroupWise server address to be used along with port 7191 the username and password are returned saying unable to connect. The thing here is that I can use that same username/pw on GroupWise itself and successfully log into e-mail.
    2. When I try and access http://10.3.2.6:7191 or http://mail.usd376.com:7191 I get the following error message in my browser.
    HTTP/1.1 200 Date: Mon, 25 Oct 2010 10:59:42 GMT Server: NetWare GroupWise POA 8.0.1 Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8 Content-Length: 268 Pragma: no-cache 59905Bad parameter passed to a NCSP function
    Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  • Imac, mobile me and iphone not syncing

I had a big software problem with my iMac and I was told i might need a new hard drive and so I was afraid (probably needlessly) that if i had a new hard drive and lost all my info that my contacts and calendar on my imac would be blank and that it might then turn my mobile me and iphone calendar and contacts blank.
So I guess I turned something off on the off chance that could happen. So now this is what is going on and i want to fix it.
If I add a calendar date to my iphone neither mobile me or my imac calendar are updated.
If I add a calendar date to mobile me the imac is updated but the iphone is not.
If I add a calendar date to the imac mobile me is updated and the iphone is not.
So it looks like I've somehow turned off my iphone from the mix. How do I turn it back on?
    Thanks for your help,
    Susan

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

I just upgraded to the new mobile me calendar and now all my calendar entries on iCal have been erased. As I type this the calendar entries are still on the mobile me and iphone calendars. How do I restore the calendar entries to iCal?

Please always post your System details when you have a query. The upgrade to the new MobileMe calendar produces different results, and different problems, with different versions of OSX.
Snow Leopard: during the upgrade process your iCal calendars should be moved to MobileMe (this can take some time and you have to wait for it to happen). Once done, your iCal reads the calendars from MobileMe so any changes made in either place will be visible immediately. If this has not happened then this Apple Tech Note provides instructions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3397
Leopard: when the upgrade is completed iCal on Leopard will not be able to see the MobileMe calendars until an additional process is carried out, detailed in this Apple Tech Note:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4330
Tiger: iCal on Tiger cannot read the MobileMe calendars, period. The only workaround is to upgrade to Leopard, or Snow Leopard if possible (Intel Mac required).

  • Connection between BO Mobile Server and BOE

I have installed BO Mobile on the same machine which as Business Objects Enterprise.
    Have the following questions

  • Is there any API for connecting web server and iphone apps

    Hi,
I have to retrieve data from Web Server and display in my iphone apps. I want to know that is there any API through which i can connect my apps to server and get data.
One way i know that use NSURLConnection and get XML response and prase it and use it like that.
    So anyone know this?
    Thanks.

NSURLConnection is straightforward to use. In the mobile world, and especially if you intend to use certain google APIs, I would rather tend to use JSON instead of XML. A great JSON parser for objective-c is here: http://code.google.com/p/json-framework/

  • Groupwise Mobility Service and Vibe

On the site, you tell us that GMS is the replacement of Datasync. However with Datasync, i was able to add the connector to synchronise Groupwise with Vibe. But with GMS, i didn't find how to enable the synchronisation between Groupwise and Vibe.
    Thank you.

No no... you want just plain "Data Sync" and not the mobility pack for
the Vibe connector. That's not going away. Definitely don't use the
Mobility Pack as that's only supposed to be used for syncing GW &
mobile devices and it was pretty much "luck" that the Vibe connector
also worked. But since GMS has taken the place of the old Mobility
Pack, stick with GMS for syncing GW with mobile devices.

  • Exchange Server and iphone unread email

    Hello,
I have an Exchange 2003 server and I am using my iPhone 4 to sync my email, Contacts, and Calendar. I noticed that when I read an email in Outlook or OWA, the email on the iphone will still be marked as unread.
I changed the push to fetch and to manual and nothing seems to work. All mail is coming in fine. Deleting something from the phone deletes it from Outlook and visa-versa.
Does anyone have any idea what maybe causing this and is there a fix?
    Thank you,
    Rubyje

I've looked into this extensively with iPhone IOS 5 and iPad devices - the actualy protcol IOS uses to deliver mail to the phones is actually a very lightweight send and recieve engine. XNU (the kernel responsible for driving IOS platform that apple use to write IOS) requires this to make the usability of the mail applications very fast and steamlined.
If XNU integrated a heavy send and recieve protocol, the whole mail performance module on the devices would become slow and clunky (very similar to the microsoft platform on version 6 which did indeed have the FAT pull technology so that the end-points were in sync with the server side platform).
Hence - having other sync'd features such a true unread item user count is simply stripped out of the iPhone/iPads engine for performance reasons.

  • Exchange 2003 Small Business Server and iPhones

I know that there are a lot of questions on this, but I think mine may be unique.
    Current Environment:
Small Business Server 2003  All Patched and Current.
I cannot get any IOS device to successfully recieve emails or calendar items using ActiveSync.  For any other device, Android tablet or phone, Balckberry tablet or phone, Windows phone, all work.
Symptoms:  I can create the account on the device, and it will verify the account(internally or externally).  This is evident by the check marks, and the return to the account screen in the settings menu.  Checking mail however, bring the 'Cannot Get Mail, Connection to server failed' message.
Specific example, I have a user Bob.  I can set Bob up with activesync email on any Android, Microsoft, or BlackBerry device; but Bob's iPhone will not work.
I have run through these forums a few times.  Things we've tried:
The 'Inhereit Security Settings from Parent' in ADUC.  Checked for all users, and not applicable.
Verified OMA in System manager, and 'Unsupported Devices' is checked.
Safari on an IOS device will connect up internally or externally to our mail.company.com address.
Test Exchange Connectivity reports a correct configuration.
Recreation of accounts does not resolve the issue.
No errors reported in Event Log of note.  Some TermServDevices erorrs, but they are related to printers and my rdp connection.
Restarted MSExchSA, IISAdmin, and related services.
Permissions of IIS 'Default Website' directories are in line with Microsoft guidlines.
    Restarted the server.
ried using the internal name of our server connected to internal wifi.  Same results.

Hi got a new iPhone 4 that came with IOS 6.1.3.   It turns out that I can not connect it to an exchange 2013 server.
When I set it up it puts checks all the way through like it's going to work, then when I open the mail app and try to get emails, it says it can not get mail, the connection to the server failed.
I have read that there were exchange problems with ios 6.1.1 and that 6.1.2 corrected them, but I also think 6.1.3 broke connection to exchange 2013
It works fine, on exchange 2010, and I have other devices, like android that can connect to the 2013 server

  • Syncing Server and iPhone email

    Hi All.
I've got gmail and "server-based" email from my domain name.
Is there a way to sync up with my desktop so that emails I delete from the iphone no longer show up on my desktop and emails that are deleted off my desktop no longer show up on my iPhone?
And can anyone clue me in a little as to how these two are currently relating to each other or whether I have options in these respects?
    Thanks,
    Jon

I obviously need to research this a little further, however am I correct in thinking that you are saying that I can in fact do this with my Gmail account?
    Yes.
In order to keep server stored mailboxes for an account synchronized with the email client used to access the account, you must be able to access the account as an IMAP account. A Gmail account can be accessed as a POP or IMAP account with any email client - including with the iPhone's mail client. When creating a Gmail account with the iPhone's mail client, using the Gmail account preset when creating the account creates the account as an IMAP account with the iPhone's mail client. When creating a Gmail account with an email client on your computer, you need to select IMAP as the account type when creating the account.
Google provides recommended settings when accessing a Gmail account as an IMAP account with an email client on your computer and with the iPhone's mail client.
Doubtful that your service provider for your other email account supports accessing the account as an Exchange account. More than likely your service provider for your other account supports accessing the account as a POP account only, but some also support accessing the account as an IMAP account. Account mailboxes with a POP account are not kept synchronized with the server. The only server stored mailbox you will have access to with a POP account is the account's Inbox mailbox with new messages received at the incoming mail server for the account downloaded with the email client used to access the account. You can't store sent messages on the server with a POP account, as is possible with an IMAP account.

  • Groupwise Mobile Server 2 SP1

When upgrading from GMS to SP1 the users aren't able to reach the mobile
page anymore. When a user reaches the GMS url he gets an "application

URL displayed in the browser is ( http://company.domain/gerweb/ ).
As an admin I can still get in the admin page (

  • Mobile Server rebuid

First off, as I recall, using a regular web browser to access the POA
always returned an error in the past. Now with 802 it appears to just
redirect you to the http interface, but with 801 that's probably normal
    behavior.
Second, if you're going to have to rebuild from scratch, why don't you
look at implementing Mobility? You'll have to upgrade the POA, and
you'll need to use SLES11 instead of Windows 2003, but in the end
you'll be better off since Mobility supports many more devices than GMS.
