Groupwise Shared Calendars

Hi,
Our one Elementary School Principal created a shared calendar for the building and shared it with her staff. Since the school year ended a week ago, she was not going to use it anymore so she deleted it. Now the users are getting tons of emails in their mailbox saying that the calendar has been deleted. I know they should get one email saying this but they are getting a lot. The one user says shes gets 20 of them and deletes them and then a little bit later gets 20 more. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I just ran a Structure and contents check on a few of the users. I am not sure if that will help or not.
Thank,
Andrew

Hello,
Not sure if anyone has any ideas on this but I have a constant Busy Message Worker Thread if I look at the POA Website and the user ID is the Principal that deleted the shared calendar. Current Transaction says "Change Sharing", Accessing Store name says "msg0.db", and processing status is "running". This is constantly running busy on the new Post office and the old post office where users were. Not sure if this is causing it to just keep sending the emails or not. Over 7000 have been sent out over night.
Do you think I need to Rebuild the new Post Office database at all? If so, will it cause any issues? It looks like a straight forward process and simple task.
Thanks,
Andrew

IIRC that a known limitation - a combination of an outlook/mapi issue

  • Can a shared calendar be combined on main calendar?

I am making a departmental calendar for events, meetings, etc. I am the owner of the calendar and have shared it with others in the department. I have the option to check the box and combine the shared calendar with my main calendar, but the recipients of the shared calendar do not have this option. Can the recipients also have the option to check the button to combine the calendars like I do? No one wants to flip through multiple calendars. I have reviewed the settings and cannot figure out where I went wrong. Any suggestions?

  • Incluiding specific shared calendars in Busy Search results

I have a staff member who would like to have some specific shared calendar(s) included in busy search results for him. He uses two calendars to keep track of his own schedule. Is there a way for GroupWise 2012SP2 to accommodate this?
I can understand that it would be a bad idea to have busy search automatically included in busy search results. Obviously, there will be shared calendars that don't correspond to your schedule but I also see his point in wanting more than one calendar for his schedule.
If it is not possible in the current version or 2014 does anyone know if it is on the roadmap? I didn't see it on the general one.
    Thanks.
    -Nyle

I have put this in as an enhancement request. We understand that if you check the sub-calendar it will show in your main calendar and then be part of the busy search results for that mailbox. The user wants to be able to always have specific folders used in their busy search results even if they decide to uncheck that calendar from showing in their main calendar.
I don't think I explained that well enough. The enhancement request that I put in was to put a checkbox property on each sub-calendar to allow it to be included in busy search results even if the user doesn't have it showing in their main calendar when someone does a busy search on their mailbox.

  • HT4968 How can I take a shared calendar and recreate it using my personal ical rather than having to share?

Here's the deal.  I stepped into an administrative position last fall and began building an entire calender schedule for our summer 2014 program.  I put a lot of work into building two months, however I have only just realized that the apple ID is for the former person who had my job (she left herself logged in on the mac I am now using).  My fault for assuming the apple id and login would be the same as the email account I am responsible for.
I did manage to share one of the calendars I created using her apple ID, so I still have access, however, I'd feel better if I could somehow take this "shared" calendar and keep it as my own using the apple ID for the email account I'm responsible for.  In other words, is there a way to take a calendar that was shared with you by someone else and save it under my apple ID as MY primary calendar? I'm paranoid that this former employee will delete said shared calendar and I will have to start from scratch...

Before you start see if you can export the calendar to a .ics file via the File ➙ Export menu option.  In your own account import the .ics file and that, hopefully, will bring in all the work you've done so far.

  • Can I create a shared calendar on iCal from the New iPad?

My company just gave out iPads for use to all field employees. My coworkers and I currently have an Outlook shared calendar that we utilize for scheduling our work. We can not access the shared calendars on our iPads, therefore I would like to create a shared calendar in iCal that we can all access for sharing our schedule as we were doing on Outlook. Is this possible?
NOTE: The idea is that I would like to use the iPad as the sole resource, instead of carrying our laptops around just to access the shared outlook calendar/schedule. The laptops are outdated junk that requires roughly 20 mins of time just to power up, connect and sign in to our servers...very inefficient.
    Thank you!

  • Ovi Calendar server back end lost shared calendar ...

Setup a shared calendar between the Ovi web suite, and two devices, a C5 and an N8
Day 1 - Syncing fine between web and phones
Day 2 - Go into web page, now the calendar is shared with 0 others! Each phone also has a separate calendar. No configuration changes were made between days 1 and 2
It seems this to be a major bug in the Ovi Calendar suite? Is the Calendar service now deprecated and shutting down? The Calendar web page looks and feels like it's not being actively updated and supported

Thanks so much for your comment ~morgen.
Sorry, I should have mentioned, that it what my first thought so I tested by ensuring the email address associated with the user account (not hosted on the server but by Google Apps) is recieving all other mail.
    I have also tried:
    - Setting all accounts (calendar, email and contact card with associated email address) in another local user on a defferent Mac. So it's not a local user or Mail app issue.
    - Sending invites from different Calendar apps and email accounts - iCloud, Gmail (both using Apple Calendar and the web interface).
That's why I came back around to thinking it must be calendar server related. However is there is absolutly no conntact with the server with incoming email invites I must be looking in the wrong place (and the wrong forum - sorry!).
Does anyone have any ideas where I should be focusing my efforts?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Can two iCal users edit the same published/shared calendar

Can two iCal users (obviously different mobileMe accounts) edit the same published/shared calendar? I want to have a calendar running which we can both edit remotely but for it to be synced so we both know what each other is doing. Maybe I can share it on my iDisk somehow? I have searched but could not find an answer so I am sorry if this has been covered already !

There is now way to do this using standard MobileMe and iCal. What you could is both share your calendars so that both of you can read each other's calendar.
If you want both to have read-write access to a calendar you will need to use third party software or set up a Google calendar where both of you have read-write access to the calendar.

  • Family sharing calendar missing

We are using family sharing. My daughters iPhone 5 is missing the family sharing calendar. She is on her own Apple id and is updated to the latest OS. when I look at the calendar app, the family calendar is not an option. She is set up on a child account but restrictions are not enabled in her phone. any help is appreciated.

    Hello Jacqui L Davies,
It sounds like you may need to change the settings for access to the Family Calendar.  See if this section of the iPad User Guide applies to your situation:
Share iCloud calendars - iPad User Guide
    http://help.apple.com/ipad/8/#/iPadc2a14a22
    Share iCloud calendars
With Family Sharing, a calendar shared with all the members of your family is created automatically. See Family Sharing. You can also share an iCloud calendar with other iCloud users. When you share a calendar, others can see it, and you can let them add or change events. You can also share a read-only version that anyone can view.
Create an iCloud calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap Add Calendar in the iCloud section.
Share an iCloud calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap the iCloud calendar you want to share. Tap Add Person, then enter a name, or tap to browse your Contacts. Those you invite receive an email invitation to join the calendar, but they need an iCloud account in order to accept.
Change a person’s access to a shared calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, tap the shared calendar, then tap the person. You can turn off their ability to edit the calendar, resend the invitation to join the calendar, or stop sharing the calendar with them.
Turn off notifications for shared calendars. When someone modifies a shared calendar, you’re notified of the change. To turn off notifications for shared calendars, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Shared Calendar Alerts.
Share a read-only calendar with anyone. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap the iCloud calendar you want to share. Turn on Public Calendar, then tap Share Link to copy or send the URL for your calendar. Anyone can use the URL to subscribe to the calendar using a compatible app.
    Hope that helps ...
    - Judy

  • Allow multiple users to edit in a shared calendar

Some co-workers and I have a shared calendar in Outlook 2010 (separate from our personal, individual calendars) and we'd all like to be able to edit (add, delete, etc) to it.  The creator of the calendar shared it with us and gave us all the appropriate
permissions to be able to edit it, however, only what the creator enters/edits appears for everyone.  Anything additional or changed doesn't appear.
For example, User 1 creates and shares the calendar.  User 2 and User 3 are given "editor" permissions.  User 2 adds an event to the calendar for all to view, but User 1 and User 3 cannot view it.
How can we create a calendar so that User 1, User 2, and User 3 can all view and edit this shared calendar?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
How does User1 share the new created calendar to User2 and User3? Because the shared calendar is User2 created that is not a default Calendar, please share it by the following steps in Outlook 2010:
    1. Create a new calendar in User1’s account.
    2. Right-click the new calendar, click Share > Share Calendar.
    3. In the Sharing invitation window, select User2 and User3 in the To field.
    4. Check Recipient can add, edit and delete items in this calendar to give the recipients Editor permission.
    5. Click Send to share calendar to User2 and User3.
Then User2 and User3 would receive a message in Inbox folder. They can just click
Open the Calendar button to open it. Then check whether the issue persists.

  • Family Sharing Calendar not "sharing" events among family members

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone has a similar issue and can shed some light.
I've setup a Family with myself as the organizer.
We have 2 iMacs, 1 MacBook Pro, 3 iPhones, and 3 iPads used by my three family members.
The "Family" calendar now shows up on all devices but events made on a single device are not showing on any of the other devices.
I've read all I can find and it appears to me that the "Family" shared calendar should sync across all family members without the need to "share" the calendar as we did in the past.
Can anyone confirm that is the case?
As a quick fix I simply "shared" the Family calendar (using email address's of the family members) and it is working, but this is essentially the same way we used to share a calendar.  Just doesn't seem to make sense to me.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
    Jim

I am having the same problem. I have done some testing and have found the following:
If I create an event in the Family Calendar on my Mac it shares it with all devices; however, if I create a new event in the Family Calendar on any of my iOS devices it doesn't share with any of my devices including my Mac. This has only been an issue since I upgraded to iOS 8.1.
I hope someone can help clarify if this truly is an iOS 8.1 issue and when they might come out with another update. This is a big problem for families trying to stay up-to-date with each others schedules.
    Thanks.

  • IPhone 4S Outlook 2010 shared Calendar problem

    Hello all,
There problem to see in Outlook 2010 shared calendar in iPhone 4S. In iPhone 4S there is seen owner calendar of added Exchange Server account, but I need to see other one person shared calendar which is impossible to see. I see in iPhone 4S two calendars as added, but when I open calendar I see entries only for one account.
Where is problem and how to solve it?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Girts

I had the same problem where I could open a shared calendar in OWA but it would not work in Outlook 2010. When I clicked on the shared folder I got the error message 'outlook cannot open this folder'. The problem ended up being that the person
whose calendar was being shared was hidden on the exchange server ('hide from exchange address lists' had been selected). To resolve the issue we had to unhide the user, update the OAB on the server and then update the OAB on the desktop. We could then share
the calendar, accept the share and then hide the user again.
Sounds like I have the same issue too.  Where do I go to do all the resolve part?  Where do I unhide the user?  I am guessing OAB means offline address book.
    Thanks
    Paul

  • Can't share, unshare or add members to a shared calendar. What happened

I am the owner of a shared calendar but the option to unshare, share or add new members is no longer there. How do I get it back? I set up a family calendar a few years back and all of my family use it to communicate with the other member. I now need to add a new member but when I go through the procedure to add a person the option is not available. In the calendar edit screen it shows me as the owner of the calendar both on my iPad, iPhone and online using my PC. ONline it shows all of the invitees in a list as it should but there is no option to change sharing status or add a new member. As an experiment I added a new calendar and I can set the sharing status on it and add new members.
What has happened to my ownership status on this calendar and how do I get it back?

    TheMurf1947,
Not sure if it relevant but I just updated my iPad 4 to IOS 8.1.2 and now I keep getting 'share my location unavailable' when I try and switch the share my location ability off.  I dont have the same issue with my Iphone 5 which is running IOS 8.1.1.  Seems they may have either introduced another bug.
Its in Privacy --> Location Services --> Share my Location.
