Grrr! Adjustments lose their paramaters when I "save as"...

So, I have a poster with txt. On some of the txt I have applied a "stroke", then reduced the size to 1px and the opacity to %65. Looks awesome. BUT...when I try to "save as" a jpeg, pdf or even just try to flatten the image, the "stroke" size reverts to 3px and (more noticeably) the opacity jumps back up to %100!! Does NOT look awesome. I have tried "merging down" with a new blank layer. No good. As soon as I merge the 2 layers the adjustments revert back to their original values. I know I am working on a very old version of PS (7.0) but I don't think that is the issue. Can anybody pleeeease help me??

I'm thinking your stroke actually WAS up-scaled with the image - it had to be or we wouldn't have seen it. It scales effects by default, even as far back as Photoshop 6.0.
As I mentioned before, at 600 dpi with a 48 pt font at 6.25% zoom it's virtually impossible to see a 1 pixel red stroke around the font. Therefore if you're seeing it it's bigger than 1 pixel.
Re-check your stroke size now that the image is large.
Why it should appear more opaque, though, after you flatten the image is still a mystery.
Do you see the same thing happen when you view this file at 6.25%, then flatten it? If so, I'm thinking you simply are seeing side effects of the zoom level, and that the advice to make sure you view your document at 100% to ensure the effects are as you like them is right on.

When I switch from an app like Safari, the New York Times, Facebook, or Google+ Hangouts to some other app and then switch back, the first app takes me to its initial page, not to my place in the document I was reading. The Kindle app, on the other hand, seems to access the network but still manages to restore the page I was reading before the switch. Thanks for explaining how app's loss of state can happen. However, I'm sure that the behavior of the four apps I mentioned is much worse than just a few months ago. Something must have changed, and iOS 7 is the main difference. The Kindle app behaves as it used to, but the others do not. Maybe I should note the problem in reviews of the apps themselves in the App Store -- and down rate the apps.

My Additive dissolves lose their brightness when exported from FCP.

I'm trying to export a short music from FCP. While the additive dissolves look really bright, like a camera flash within final cut pro, as soon as I export the video, the bright white flash of the dissolve goes away. I don't want to use dip to color, because I like the cross dissolve quality of the additive. Does anyone know why and how to prevent this?

Have you looked at re-arranging the reading-order itself under View/Navigation Panels/Order/
This will provide you with the ability to fine-tune content for reflow and read-aloud ..

jpeg is a lossy image compression. Try seeting the "quality" input to 100 (default is 80).
I would recommend to use PNG instead, it's a better format for this purpose. (jpeg is for photographs).

File Settings:
Image Format: JPEG
Color Space: sRGB
Quality : 80-100
I have not checked the box for "output sharpening", although I did minor sharpening as part of my edit process in LR.
For Image Sizing, I have not changed anything. This is what is currently selected: "resize to fit" box is checked and "long edge" is selected, 500 pixels. Resolution 72 pixels per inch. The "don't enlarge" button is NOT checked.
I'm hoping this is where my issue resides!!

When I export an Indesign file as a pdf, objects lose their transparency

The file looks fine in Indesign, but as soon as I export it for print, all transparent objects lose their transparency. I've tried multiple export settings.

Wrt54gs loses internet connection when using P2P Ares

I have a wrt54gs v5 and I've installed the latest firmware and reset back to factory then reconfigured. Whenever Ares is started all other computers (wired or wireless) lose their inet connection. Within 2-5 minutes of stopping Ares everything starts working again. I've checked Ares and it's set to am max of 10 connections.
I've hooked up my old befsx41 and it works fine but I need the wireless. Both of these are talking to a befcmu10 cable modem. I've never had problems with linksys before but from what I'm seeing on the forums the wrt54xxx doesn't seem to be of the same quality as the oldser stuff. Anyone know of any specific versions that fix this?

Since your BEF works with P2P, why don't you simply convert your WRT into a WAP (wireless access point). This way you will use the wireless of the WRT, while using the BEF to handle all the routing chores.
To do this, setup the BEF as your primary router.
Then wire one computer to port 1 (not the Internet port) on the WRT. (Note: Disconnect everything else from the WRT at this time.)
Then in the WRT do the following:
Turn off the DHCP server.
Set the "Local IP address" to 192.168.1.2 (assuming no other device on your network is using this fixed LAN IP address, and assuming the BEF is set to use the 192.168.1.x address space.)
Save your settings. Power down the WRT.
Next, connect any numbered port on the WRT to any numbered port on the BEF. Do not connect anything to the Internet port on the WRT.
The BEF will control your router settings (DHCP server, port forwarding, etc.)
The WRT will control your wireless settings.
Please let me know whether this setup allows your P2P to work properly.

When you open the project, it should ask you where the first file is located. After you tell it where it is, it should be able to find the rest of them if they are located near the first one. Then save the file. If you move the files again, you will have to relink them again.

Yet, when I open it on my Mac, it has a "word" icon and I can read it. How do I fix?

With FB70 I recommend you implement the user-exit via the Business Add-In (BADI) way and avoid SMOD exits if possible.
The list below are the BADIs that are called by the ECC6.0 system after you click the Save button to post a document. They are listed in the order which they are called before the actual post. You'll have to find the right one as per your requirement - you can view their definition via transaction SE18 then after you find the right one you need to use that definition to create an implementation via SE19. Here again, you'll have to choose the right method that suits your requirement. You'll find the method and class documentation in some cases with examples on how to implement, you need to write the code between the Method..EndMethod statement using the parameters provided by the Method.

Help! When users save web forms and come back to submit they get an error message and form is lost

I have a feb form that has a 28 save limit. When users save the form and return to submitt them they get a error message that says the form has expired or has been submitted. The form is open and it was not submitted. Any thoughts.
Form deadline is tomorrow and people are getting angry when I tell them to recreate the form.

"signed" in the name document when you save

if you insert a image sign in a document pdf with the Adobe Reader XI, when you save the document, the program insert the text "-signed" at the end of the name. For exemple, in the name "doc.pdf", it will be "doc-signed.pdf". Please, I want not include this text, I want to have the same original name, "doc.pdf".
I have looked for it in Preferences and I not find the option to not include the text "-signed" in the saved name when you sign a document.

I am experiencing the same issue here and it is very frustrating.
I have a number of users who have the ability to place their 'Signature' (Image) on to a PDF.
Previously, they could save the file over the original file (which is stored on the network drive, so we only have one copy of the invoice) but now the Suffix, "-signed" is automatically entered to tive the following filename:
'{Filename} -signed.pdf'
This means that we can end up with duplicated files, the original and the -Signed copy.
It would be great to know the reason behind this, as it doens't appear to be a benefit to the user.
