GS60 Ghost: Gaming Disconnection and Lag?

Has anyone had issues with lag spikes? I can run "Eve Online" perfectly for the most part, but other games such as League of Legends suffer massive amounts of lag, ping spikes, and disconnections. I have even had this problem with Minecraft, which I did not expect would happen...
I've tested different routers and wireless card options, gone through all the suggestions I could find. My internet is pretty fast, and definitely able to support the load. My download speeds tend to stay around 12 Mbps on wireless and higher on Ethernet. However, my Dragon Gaming Center monitor shows a consistent network speed of 8 to 10 kb/s. This seems very odd to me.
One thing that I think might be affecting this is the heat this laptop produces. The Ghost is advertised as being able to handle temps of up to 70 degrees C. However, I notice lag after about my first 10 to 15 minutes of playing a game. I'm wondering if this heat could be the issue and if anyone else has had the same problems and managed to fix them some other way?
Anyone with information that could help, please answer!

So you already update your WLAN driver and go through the settings in FAQ?
http://www.msi.com/pic/faq/10011971@2014-0707-1156-448815@faq0000000001178_eng.pdf
Which tool do you use to check the internet speed 12Mbps?
About the game lag problem, do you mean LOL? How's the FPS goes when you have the lag problem? (Do you have a big drop on the FPS during the lag?)

  • GS60 Ghost Pro 3k - Temperature problems

    Greetings,
I recently purchased a GS60 Ghost Pro 3k and it is brilliant. I do however run into heat problems. While i expected its sleek-style coupled with its 870M ro cause it to get very hot. I did not however expect it on virtually every single game. I would expect average games, that don't tax this GPU, to run efficient and cold simply because the load is low. However, 9/10 games i play on this thing it reaches DANGEROUS temps within minutes. I mean games that would run aon the Intel GPU. Sometimes i even force the intel GPU just to keep the heat down. Does anyone know of any tweaks/software i could use to cap the max load of this 870M? or other ideas. Examples i have of this are basically LoL is the only game so far that stays relatively cold. Its not just titles like BF4 on ultra at 3k that cause this thing to heat up. I can sit in menu's of Expedition Conquistador using windowed-mode on medium settings and hit 90 degrees. This is just poor optimization since the 870m shouldnt even know its running a game the load should be that low. Any ideas?
    Regards,

Well i say the difference because you notice a drastic frame-rate/load/temp difference when you run things in windowed. So it is less work on the system, i am not worried about the 3k desktop but i will do some testing. While i agree in the power needed to go from 1080 to 3k, i don't think anything outside 3D or video would matter, maybe a bit more mem.
As for the temps, Disappointing. Not only is it uncomfortable to game on at these temps its significantly lowering the lifespan to maintain temps like this for extended periods of time. Hot to touch, is too hot. Its only a matter of time before the soldering goes and it wont turn on or i get artifacts.
My post is more about the fact i know it CAN get to these temps when pushed high. I figured 2 of 10 of my titles would do this. Not all of them. Its just a surprise and a let down is all.

  • MSI GS60 Ghost Pro Golden Edition - A Combination of Stylish and High Performance.

I have no idea who can say no to this shining and charming beauty....
    The BackStory
When I studied at graduate school, I bought my first laptop, Asus F3J, of my life and brought it to school everyday. Actually it was a 2.9kg around laptop for gaming and I felt like carry a heavy brick. It was quite inconvient and kind of suffer for a person like me who was not doing fitness. After I graduated from school and was being a member of society, I decided to find a  laptop that was much lighter and easier to bright to work. Toshiba R830 was what I chose, but this time, the performance of playing some hardcore game wasn’t good enough since it doesn’t have a discrete graphics card.
I started to believe there is a trade off between perforamnce and weight of laptop with these two experience. Until one day, I came across with MSI GS60 Ghost Pro at Computex 2014, it was a notebook weigh just around 2kg and uncompromising with high performance. In more detail, It had core I7 CPU、High-end GTX graphics card and two 256MB SSD within it. From that day, I know it is the notebook am looking for, it is a note book I can bring to work and also play game at home. Furthermore, MSI is going to issue the limited Golden edition of it around the end of year, it gave me one more reason to buy this “good stuff”, because both me and my girl think gold is the most fashion color in recent year, just like iphone. So that is the backstory, now i just have the golden one and is going to unbox it for you.

    The Unboxing
It is a really big one, please do drive your car while buying this NB from the shop.
Inside the main brown shipping box, there are MSI stylish back bag and the a black branded carry case.
The back back is grey color with good material quality, it also a simple and fashion design which is suitable for young or stylish worker. The sense of touch is also good.
There are several layers inside the bag, even more, a shock-absorbing laptop sleeve in it. What a surprise!!
In the big black branded carry case. There are two black box, one is for accessory. One is for the main role “GS60” with sponge to protect it as you can see in the photo.
Let see the accessory box first, a MSI gaming mouse、a MSI/SteelSeries Flux headset、a keyboard protector and a mouse pad.
The mouse has red light shining on both side when it connect to the laptop. It’s really a gaiming stuff! We can also see the double braided cord that improved the durability.
As “+” and “-“ these buttons in the middle of the mouse, user can adjust the sensity of the mouse instantly by these two bottons in the game. No need to waste your time finding the adjument UI within the game. It is such a good benefit for a gamer.
The Flux headset has ear cushions with mesh-cloth material it let you feel comfortable when wear it. You also can find out the color of the shell beside the headset can be changed, one pair is MSI design in red color, the other one is pure black one.
It also has a convenient design that the earmuff can be folded, in order to make the headset into a plat one and easy to put in your bag.
The performance of the headset is high-end and highs that don’t get brittle. About the deep bass, it also quite stunning. Overall, it can make the music carry listener’s heart.
It deserves you to put it on the top of your gaming headset list.
Here we open another black box, the GS60 is packaging by the non-woven cloth.
There are also the power adaptor、power cord and mini displayport to D-sub cable.
By the way, the power adapter is 25.53 mm thick and 0.52kg. weigh, 19.5V and 7.7A output.
Moreover, there are instruction manuals、several driver CDs and even two military dog tag with MSI logo, actually I am not a military lover, so I am going to use them as a key ring but not to hang on my neck.
Finally, let us see a royal-like GS60 Ghost Pro Golden…
Using Mg-Li alloy as the material, its chasis gains the advantage of both ultra-light and solid.
According to MSI official website, the idea of design comes from the stealth fighter, so it shows dynamic streamline in its design. Beside the visual effect, it makes you feel comfortable when typing due to the slimmer front edge and solid palm rest. The high gloss finish and bright gold will reflect light, so it change color slightly in different lighting condition. Overall, it delivery supreme visual treat.
To see a more apparent golden color, I put it on my sofa with yellow background.
    Shinging and charming….
The fancy muscle curve and hire line surface make it elegant and gorgeous.
The shield and the MSI logo, they are delicated design without roughness.
The black color keycap contrast with the golden chasis apparently.
The touchpad looks cool as well, the material it made let the surface being anti-skidding and you wont leave your fingerprint on it.
It has Dynaudio speaker and Steelseries keyboard these two famous brand as it high-end equipment. 4 channel speakers and comfortable tactile keyboard. Moreover, the Graphics card it equiped is GTX 970M,
One of the lastest high-end Nvidia GTX graphics card. It is the first gaming notebook to equip GTX 970M .No doubt MSI regard themselves as the leader brand of gaming.
    Sound Blaster Cinema 2+Dyanudio, Bravo~~
Let’s check the connectivity of this beauty.
No ports but seried of cooling vents at the rear panel,in order to let air flow and palm rest feeling.
    being better.
The left side of it located the microphone (line out) and headphone (line in) jack, two USB 3.0 ports, the power connector socket and a security port. Also the vent close to the rear panel. The metal golden jack can isolate much more noice and enhance the reality of music as not being distortion.
The right side of GS60 located an USB 3.0 port, card reader, Mini DisplayPort, HDMI port, and GB LAN (RJ45). GS60 Ghost Pro can support 2 external moniotr with mini display and HDMI port. When playing PRG game, you can use the main one to play game, the other one can show a walkthrough. The last one, you can even use skype or outlook to connect others.
The front side you can see the LED to show some fuction status. Such as the battary status and bloothtooth has been turned on or not..etc.
From bottom of this notebook you can see the battery is not removable, I guess the idea probably come from iphone. In fact, I seldomly remove the battery when I using a laptop, unless it really heavy to carry. But this time, GS60 is not heavy, so it wont be a problem to me.
I used the scaler to measure the actual weight and ruler to see how thin it is, the result cames out 19.95mm thin and 2.1kg weight. Is it really a gaming machine I used to think of?! Such an ultra-book style.
As I know, all the gaming notebook used to be black and silver color, there are few gaming notebook with others color. MSI this time has find its way to make a breakthrough. Of course, the creative thinking and the adventurous action is what we need in gaming world!!
In a word, as you can see from the picture above ,the metallic feel of it is so attractive!!It is the most stylish and creative gaming notebook I have ever seen.
All of above are the unboxing of hardware part.let’ talk about some function and feature of this treasure.
Dragan Gaming Center which is preinstalled in this MSI laptop. With this application, you can monitor the status of the important elements in the system. You can also quick start a game or an utility through it.
Fn+F7="Shift", according to the official website, the key can be used to change the mode of the notebook in 3 status, the default "Sport"mode、"Comfort" mode and "Green mode", it is a adjustment function to control the CPU and GPU workload in order to balance the performance and temperature
Use "Shift" to switch the mode you prefer.
Green- System locks both GPU and CPU chip temp.
Comfort- System locks GPU chip temp and dynamic adjusts the GPU chip temp
Sport- Defaut and without any control.
I am not afraid about the high temperature and noise from fans, so I like to use the default one, Sport mode~
If you are playing a game in the library, please do choose Green mode to keep the fan from being busy.
The "Shift" is MSI exclusive function, the idea comes from the shifting gear in automobile.
Here comes another interesting feature, which is called Killer Double Shot Pro.With this function,
the GB LAN and Wireless LAN act like combined togather and user can acquire the bandwith from both.
    Killer Netwok Manager UI
This network technology also offers you a smooth background when playing game, because you can set the gaming applications as higher priority to use the bandwith than others. What a bravo feature!!
The highest resolution of GS60 Ghost Pro is 2880*1620 which is also called 3K,
as you can see from the screenshot below, when playing game you gain much more visual delight.
With the HDMI and mini display output, you can enjoy a 1+2 matrix display function.
With the XSplit Gamecaster preintalled in GS60, you can share your game just in time through live streaming while playing it. however, I won't use this function because I don't wanna share my skill to the others, hahaha~~
The Steal Series Engine, it is my favorite. You can set the keypress macro、text macro or lauch application just in one key. For example, while playing Leaque of Legend, we always need to press Q、W、E、R、T
immediately, but with keypress macro function, you can trigger them just in one key. Quite convient, isn't it?
You can also choose the color you want for the keyboard backlit with Steal Series Egine. This function shows the gaming feature indeed.
That's see the multi-color backlit of it. What a show off!!!
Below is the hardware information showed by Nvidia Experience UI and GPU Z
    GeForce GTX 970M with DDR5 3G and I7-4710HQ!!
    I can't wait to see the 3D MARK 11 P score...
Here it got P9272 at sport mode. Outstanding!!
For 3D MARK Fire Strike, it got 6515 at sport mode. I have to say that GS60 Ghost Pro punches above its weight.
The result of Valley Benchmark 1.0 is below, score 1560 and FPS is 37.3.
Testing the Call of duty Ghost with FRAPS, while play the game, it goes smoothly and the fps showed at top-left is around 100~200. As you can see the delicated scenery and character there, it seems like act in the reality.
The sequencial read of these two SSD is 1022MB/s, it features from the Super RAID technology. Applying the RAID 0 technical usually used in server into SSD to make the IOPS much better.
Take a look at its outward appearance again, bring it oudoor to see its color under natural light.
    Fantastic~~
I would like to say, the GS60 Ghost Pro Golden is Lamborghini in gaming laptop!! It will be all the rage.

This year, GTX970M performance is even better than 880M, with GS60's slim design, I can only say the advance of technology is so amazing!!!

  • MSI Global GS60 2PE Ghost Pro Wifi and Sound problems

    Hello!
I have just recently bought a new GS60 Ghost Pro and I must say I am a bit disappointed. I have two issues that I'd like to resolve as soon as possible.
First and foremost, the WiFi. The Intel 7260 WiFi card simply isn't working properly. I have to stay within 5 meters of my router to get decent speeds. When I go to another room, the connection speed drops to roughly 20 times less than it was. This does not even happen even on my 6 year old Dell. (!) I have tried installing the latest drivers and I am 100% positive it's not a router issue. How can I fix this?
EDIT: I forgot to mention that WiFi even drops out during online games. Can't really think of anything more frustrating on a freaking GAMING laptop!
Secondly, I have noticed that only the bottom side speakers are working on my machine. This means sound quality is horrible. I have checked "sound devices" and there I have the possibility to either make default the top side speakers or the bottom ones. How can I make them both work at the same time?
Should I take my machine back to the seller?
    Really hoping you can help

For the wifi, try to do the settings from the FAQ link.

  • Screen resolution of GS60 2PC003 Ghost gaming laptop?

I picked up a lightly used MSI GS60 2PC003 Ghost laptop and am puzzled by the screen resolution reported by several programs: 1366x768. I also see this when I boot Linux Mint from a USB flash pen drive. The MSI specs web page says
    LCD Size 15.6" Full HD (1920x1080), Anti-glare
so did someone swap the display? The specs page also says "The specifications may differ from areas and we keep the right to change without notice." Would the serial number help to determine which display it was assembled with?
The seller says he bought it in the US (in Florida, I think) and brought it back to Uruguay where we both live. It's a US English lappie.
I'm suspicious about the laptop now because the 1TB HDD is reporting a fatal error after just 8 hours of power on time.
    TIA to everyone who replies.

The lappie has Window$ 8.1 and it's totally up to date. That's one thing the guy I bought it from did--he always kept the M$ stuff up to date.
Every program I've tried shows the screen resolution is 1366x768. There's no higher resolution available as a choice, just lower resolutions.
Linux runs a hell of a lot better than Window$ does on the laptop. After I make a recovery backup, I intend to replace Window$ with Linux. A live Linux CD ISO running from a USB flash pen drive shows I'm not using any proprietary drivers under Linux and that's the way I want it.
I have a 1TB desktop HDD in a USB cabinet. Window$ doesn't see that external HDD and Linux does. There are a lot of other reasons not to use Window$; ask Ed Snowden.
I did have to update the BIOS from 103 to 111 and install all the driver updates in the order listed on the MSI web page. Nonetheless, the touchpad works fine under Linux and terribly under Window$, no matter how I adjust the Window$ settings for the touchpad.
I'm running DRevitalize from Hiren's Boot CD on the GS60 now to try and repair the HDD; it's going to take another day or so to finish. I've also got WinDFT from HGST, the HDD manufacturer's drive fitness test. Unfortunately, it doesn't attempt repairs like diagnostic software from some other manufacturers do. If it still fails SMART like I think it will, I'll try some disk repair stuff from Ultimate Boot CD before I buy a replacement HDD. 1TB isn't big enough for me anyway.
The HDD failed a few days after I bought the lappie. I've attached a screenshot of diskmgmt.msc taken the day before the HDD failed. It was good then. Very strange.

So far what i've been able to see on my gs60 ghost pro (2pe), ram is upgradable, you have to n2 slots where there is only 1 in 128 gb ssd (weird size not the new standard), the normal 2,5" drive is an easy upgradable.
Ask if there is something else you need to know.

  • GS60 Ghost Pro Unboxing! With ga-young kim

Hello, I am Kim, Ga Young aka Aphrodite, a progamer of team Startale.
Today I will introduce a special laptop from MSI. Recently I was in need of a lighter and thinner laptop since I had to go out more often. So I purchased a laptop and went straight to the Startale team house to check it out. Fortunately Life, who is a Starcraft2 world champion, was at the house, so I hurried back. I wanted to show off my laptop. Hehe~
As soon as I arrived, I opened the box together with Life. The package of the laptop was really pretty and luxurious and was completely different from other laptop boxes. Even Life seemed a bit surprised.
When I opened up to box I was really surprised. The laptop and related accessories were stored very neatly. It felt like opening a package for a luxury brand-name bag~
Wow~ it is really thin. Even though it is a gaming laptop it is only 19mm thick and weighs only about 1.9kg~
It is perfect to carry when going out~
Now time for a proper game test~ I was looking forward to see how well the game runs in such a thin and light laptop~
Wow~ as expected, MSI did not disappoint me. It was really fast and smooth.
It is equipped with Geforce GTX860M graphic card from NVIDIA and uses Intel’s I7-4700HQ CPU as its basis. Also it is equipped with a proud product of MSI called Super RAID, which allows you to play Starcraft2 at the highest quality options without any problems and also the loading speed is exceptional~ Hooray~~
It is not a gaming laptop just because of its fast speed~ MSI proudly presents Killer Lan, which clearly decreases the latency and allows the player to play more swiftly with more speed. This has to be a required condition for every gamer, right?
Keyboard is also very important to gamers. GS60 Ghost is equipped with a keyboard from Steel Series, which is a gaming specialty company~ Twinkling rainbow colored LED lights are very pretty and the users can variously set the key combinations their own way through the Steel Series Engine
Ta-da~~~ What comes across your mind, when you hear MSI? It is DYNAudio. The sound that comes out from the Audio Boost, which is the gold-plated audio jack, cannot be heard elsewhere and the speakers made by the high-end speaker manufacturers, DYNAudio, along with Sound Blaster Cinema are all proud elements of MSI.
Nonetheless Cooler Booster2 quickly lets out heat from the laptop, allowing the users to play with the laptop for long hours without any problems~
Now, let me introduce the Game Caster function of MSI. Users can very simply stream their gaming screen online. Just login like this~~
Through the webcam of the laptop, users can decide to show themselves on the stream~~
You can share it on Facebook~~
You can watch it with your smart phone, like this~~
It is very convenient and appealing~~ I myself use this function very often~~
I don’t know how the day passed playing games with GS60. Size, weight, design, performance and many special functions provided only by MSI! Today I fell in love with GS60 Ghost.
Top Player Top Choice MSI GS60 Ghost!
I highly recommend it to everyone with confidence!

WOW~~ GS60 Ghost have good performance and very slim.. game caster function is interesting...goodbye Macbook~~

Gizmodo just finished their round-up of the best thin and light gaming laptops and rated the MSI GS60 Ghost and GS70 Stealth as one of the best thin and light gaming laptops. It came up on top over ASUS’s latest thin and light G501, Aorus X3 Plus, Alienware 13, Acer Aspire V17 Nitro, HP Omen and more.
“The $1750 MSI GS60 Ghost Pro and $1800 GS70 Stealth Pro are almost identical—both sport a classy aluminum chassis (I was struck by how strong yet thin each of them were), excellent SteelSeries keyboards, well-balanced Dynaudio speakers and plenty of power under the hood."

the "SHIFT" function is new on GTX900 series and three modes been provided for users to change the freq/fan speed/temp results by different scenario.
It's suitable for users who need to change the scenarios by their needs and pretty convenient for dropping temp/fan noise.

I like the Shift function, so you can decide which mode that you wanna use, just like modern cars, one button to race, and press again to be Hybrid…cool!!

CPU and GPU info on CPU-Z and GPU-Z applications:
    3DMark Fire Strike score: 6441
3DMark Fire Strike Extreme score: 3384
    3DMark Fire Strike Ultra score:1262
The excel performance proof the brand new 960 graphics card comes with good a high Cost/Performance Value.
Now, check out this test benchmark score of the renowned game “The Crew”.
The game presents an ultra-quality display, 60 Frames Per Second (FPS)
    FPS: Average frames is at:
    Frames: 3859 - Time: 76828ms - Avg: 50.229 - Min: 43 - Max: 56
The comments of the game for your reference:
There are many types of missions that can be chosen from the America’s map.
Street racing, high-speed collision, breakaway from police, sky jumps, zigzagging, etc… make the game quite dynamic.
Now, when it comes to multi-player matches, the performance has exceeded expectations. Perhaps, it is the killer Ethernet that’s working the magic. Thus, this game is highly recommended if you have the right rig.
The downside is that the display intricacy is not as refined as GTA V and in addition, the game FPS is limited at 60 FPS. However, the overall gaming flow and performance is better than good.
The user's comment for using MSI Gaming 5 motherboard and 960 graphics card:
(The following commends are translated from user’s article, does not represent the viewpoint of MSI) ^^
Recently, MSI GTX 960 just launched so the initial price tag is still adjustable.
According to the current product line, it seems like this GPU is going to replace 750Ti. So once all the stocks (750Ti) at the store empties, we are most likely to see a price drop on GTX960.
Once the price hits the sweet spot, it’s time to try out GTX960 SLI’s performance.
The CP value on MSI GTX960 and GAMING 5 MB is pretty high. But the XSplit software that comes with the product is a bit annoying since the authentication steps are divided into 2 parts to go through for using it.
    Enough said, anyways, GAME ON!

NVIDIA 960 card  + GAMING 5 motherboard = best bundle for budget gaming!
it would be nice to see more testing of hardware-demanding games!

  • Stuttering and lag during playback  when hooked up to TV

    Hi,
I recently bought the monoprice mini display port to HDMI adapter for connecting my MBP to my HDTV. I managed to get everything connected without too much problem, but once I started playing HD content through iTunes I noticed that there was substantial stuttering and lag. If I disconnect my computer and watch through the laptop monitor there doesn't seem to be any problem. The strange thing is that my wife's 3-year old macbook doesn't seem to have any problem playing back the same content on our TV using a DVI to HDMI cable.
I've tried using both video chips. If anything, the 9600m GT chip seems to produce MORE stuttering, rather than less. Perhaps I'm dealing with a heat problem here?
Has anyone had similar problems? Any workarounds? I've tried both the 1080 and 720 settings- there wasn't much difference.
    Thanks.

Thanks, however, I have the correct NTSC setting and I am plugging into the correct jack(s) on the tv but all the pictures are black and white.
I have tried this on several tv's all with the same black and white results
    Any other ideas?

they both are same resetlogs_change#? because FSFO initiated and there is no standby database to perform switchover.

  • Core i7 2600k and msi z68a-gd55 b3 acting up and lagging on me

HI, I just built a new gaming rig and for the life of me, I can't figure out why im getting lag and im not impressed coming from a P4 Dual core.. OK here's my setup
Core 17 2600k with CoolMaster Heat Sink
    MSI Z68A-GD55  B3 mobo
    4x4gb DDR3 1600 Corsair Vengeance Ram 9-9-9-24 Total 16Gbs
EVGA GTX 560TI 2Gb Video Card
CORSAIR GAMING SERIES 800 Watt 65a on the 12v Rail
(ONLY USING ONE HDD    GOT 2 HDD'S TO TROUBLESHOOT TO SEE IF ITS THE HDD)
CURRENTLY IN USE FOR MAIN HDD   1 Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm 1TB HDD
1 Western Digital Cavier Black 7200 rpm 2TB HDD
Running on Windows 7 Ultimate x64
So i install the OS and updated all my drivers and for all hardware and updated the BIOS and i got everything stock in the BIOS, No overclocking yet and when im just surfing the web or open up an app, I get this annoying lag and my CPU load and Memeory load will be at 0-5% and it will effing lag... Now i changed out everything thinking it was the problems, down to the Ram 3x's, CPU 1x, Motherboard 3x's (I'm even coming from a different board thinking, that was the the problem. Since i read alot of bad reviews on it.. AN INTEL DP67BG Extreme Series board and come over to the MSI im currently using ) and  my PSU 1x.. and nothing fixed it.. When i run a CPU Stress test it comes back with no ERRORS... Now when i do a Memory Test in the BIOS of the mobo.. It will PASS, no problem.. but if i run it in MEMTEST86 it will FAIL right away.. Then when i test each stick 1 by 1 in BIOS they PASS, NO PROBLEM, But not in Memtest86... So i bought 2 Pairs of 4 new sticks 2 different times.. the same kind of Ram, "which are compatible with this board" and the same thing happens with the lastest MSI BIOS i'll test them with the Memory Tester From BIOS, all 4 sticks and 1 by 1 and then 2 sticks for dual channel in slot 1 nearest CPU and slot 3 and they will PASS but when i try with Memtest86 they FAIL... So i dont think its the Ram cuz 3 different sets are Failing... i  highly doubt it's hardware anymore...  Agree?
Can someone PLEASE HELP ME..! I've been working on this build for 2 straight weeks day and night and i have a bad taste in my mouth over this build. this isnt my first one either and i never, never, ever had theses problems before... i'm about to quit and go back to a p4 dual.. But i don't like to quit and want to feel the power of a i7 2600k that everyone swears by...
please lead me to fixing this... if you can email me for one on one support id compensate you for your time..       [email protected]
BTW i brought it by geek squad and they couldnt figure it out either... but he didnt know his  from his elbow  lol
    Thank you, Marco

ok so the WD is still doing it but not as bad as the seagate was! as for UEFI/BIOS im on 22.8 loaded with default setting except for the dram voltage now, and it was set at 1.4 something i changed it to 1.5 like you said and that help some but i still get lag here and there showing up when moving the mouse with is a microsoft wireless 4000
update so after setting it to 1.52v in bios im noticing  when typing i get freeze up with the cursor and when i open apps the hour glass is appearing at longer then normal even for a p4 chip
any other ideas why is this becoming a nightmare with my hardware can you give me a run down on what everything should be set to in bios.. cuz it looks like default settings are off and im having video card issues but that's for another forum but im thinking they all tie in together..
thank you so much for helping me looks like no one cares to help a fellow builder out.. but when its them in my shoes there quick to beat dowm the door for answers... sorry im just frustated  that over a grand invest and my smartphone feels snappier and responsive then this build.. oh i ya check cpu and the board for mis seated chip and bent pins and correct amount of good paste and heat sink seated and torqued down correctly.. so im not sure anymore  im sooo i just want to

  • Why is my USB mouse disconnecting and reconnecting?

Our USB mouse has been disconnecting and reconnecting intermittently. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for it. We're using a Logitech Optical Mouse. It doesn't seem to matter which USB port it is plugged into. Occasionally when it becomes unconnected and doesn't reconnect, unplugging and plugging it back in will "fix" it. I've been using HardwareGrowler to keep track of this. This was occurring before we updated to 10.7. I may be imagining this but it does seem to occur more when it is running hot.
    Thanks

I have yet to try a different USB mouse to see if it is the mouse itself. I did plug in my iPod and there seems to be no problem with connection there. The mouse will disconnect regardless of tempature and it seems to disconnect more during heavy usage (gaming).

According to MSI customer service, the laptop does support gsync:
    Dear Customer,
This laptop can support this function.

    Really?!?!?!
But from NVIDIA website, only desktop GPUs is available for this feature.
