GS70 2PE-452ES Unlocked Bios question

I just received my Oculus Rift. Yeey! But... There is an awesome Nvidia system that is ruining my experience: Nvidia Optimus.
Nvidia Optimus is causing problems with the Oculus driver and I want to get rid of it. In my locked BIOS I can only change from switchable graphics to internal Intel card. I want to disable Optimus and use my Nvidia card all the time, as this will allow me to use my Oculus!
1) Can my BIOS be unlocked?
2) If my BIOS is unlocked, can I select 'Disable Optimus and use dedicated GTX 870M'? I have seen some biosses where you can do this. It would save my life!

you can force to use the nvidia card from nvidia control panel or to ask game vendor about it.

GS70 2PE Stealth Pro Direct 3D Problem

Hi guys, I just got my GS70 less than 24 hrs ago. I updated windows, installed Elder Scrolls Online and i couldnt launch it. Screen got stucked at during intro and has huge pixels all over the screen. Sometimes, the message Kernel Driver Display Error comes out at the bottom.
Updated graphics driver. Run game, still the same.
Restore factory settings. Run game, still the same.
Restore factory, update direct x, windows, and driver. Run game, still the same. Installed Bioshoch Infinite, run benchmark, tells me Direct 3D error. Im convinced something is wrong between the graphics card (870m) and the Direct X11 is the problem.
Anyone had this problem before?

Questions about GS70 2PE

Hi ..
This is my first post here ..
I'm a proud owner of GS70 2PE .. Really love the laptop .. Played Watch Dogs, Titanfall and even FIFA 15 Demo. Performance is great even when connecting DP cable to 3440x1440 Monitor.
I have two questions though:
1- How to enter the BIOS (Sounds noob) .. Couldn't find the right button in User Manual and the startup screen is so fast to give any time for try/error attempts ..
2- How to create a recovery media? No recovery came included .. Is there a recovery option in the BIOS or should I get a commercial product like Norton Ghost to make a recovery disk ?

1. Press the "Delete" button when you see the MSI logo.
2. If you have the pre-installed system then you can just use the MSI BurnRecovery tool to create the recovery disk. If not, then like you mentioned, you should get some third party software for making the recovery media.

[Request] GT70 2PE Dominator Pro MS-1763 Full Unlocked BIOS

Hello Svet, I'm looking for fully unlocked BIOS for my laptop.
I have some questions though (before I make the donation):
- Do I need to specify which features I want or do you bundle every feature by default?
The main thing I want is an option to enable/disable HyperThreading, but it would be nice to also have whatever other features are available.
- What is the preferred method for flashing the unlocked BIOS? I have been using the built-in BIOS flash utility, is this ok?

Questions Regarding Unlocked BIOS

Hi guys, i have some doubts on using the unlocked BIOS. Therefore, it would be great if someone can enlighten me before proceeding further.
My questions are as follow:
1)Will using unlocked BIOS affect my laptop hardware or software?
2)Would it void my warranty?
3)What these unlocked BIOS can do for us?Example, maybe?

How to access the BIOS on the GS70 2PE STEALTH PRO

Hi all,
I recently purchased the GS70 2PE STEALTH PRO, and I need to access the BIOS to enable hardware virtualization, but I am unable to do so?
The laptop starts up in < 3 seconds, and I have tried many different keys with no luck.
How does one access the BIOS?

if your power it on by closing and opening laptop then thats only sleep mode to fully enter bios power windows fully off through windows 8 then press power button and once MSI logo appears spam DELETE button like mad untill you see bios

Let me explain a bit more... I am using visual studio and want to emulate windows phone on windows. Thus the hardware requirements are that i need to have activated:
Hardware requirements for Hyper-V
1.A 64-bit (x64) processor ◦Windows Server 2008 was the last 32-bit (x86) Windows Server release and Windows Server 2008 32-bit version *does not* include Hyper-V
2.Hardware Virtualization Assists in the form of:
◦Intel VT-x (initially codenamed Vanderpool)
◦AMD AMD-V (also called SVM and initially codename Pacifica)
3.Hardware Data Execution Prevention (DEP*):
◦On Intel processors this is called Execute Disable (XD). This feature must be enabled in the system BIOS.
◦On AMD processors this is called No Execute (NX). This feature must be enabled in the system BIOS.
Note: When you enable hardware assisted virtualization (Intel VT or AMD AMD-V) in the BIOS, you must TURN THE SYSTEM OFF. NOT REBOOT. OFF.
Hyper-V R2 and SLAT Hardware
For traditional server virtualization or virtualization desktops without RemoteFX, SLAT hardware is not required, but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for improved performance.
•On Intel systems this is called Extended Page Tables (EPT)
•On AMD systems this is called Nested Page Tables (NPT) or Rapid Virtualization Indexing (RVI)
These features are usually on by default. If there are BIOS options, enable them.
NOTE: For virtualizing desktops using RemoteFX, SLAT hardware is REQUIRED. Previous versions (Windows Server 2008/2008 SP2 & Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008/2008 SP2) do not support SLAT hardware and will simply ignore these hardware capabilities.
Hyper-V : What to Disable in the BIOS
There are some hardware features that Hyper-V does not utilize and enabling them will prevent Hyper-V from loading. Specifically, please be sure that:
•Intel VT-d is disabled
•Trusted Execution is disabled
If either of these options is enabled, Hyper-V won’t launch and errors will be posted to the Event Log, for example:
•Event ID 41: Hyper-V Launch failed; Either VMX not present or not enabled in the BIOS
•Event ID 32: Hyper-V Launch failed; At least one of the processors in this system does not appear to provide a virtualization platform supported by Hyper-V
My question: Are these options properly set in the bios, because windows refuses to execute the virtual machine.

I'd like to ask for an unlocked BIOS for GE70 2PE-082XCZK, current BIOS: E1759IMS.52A
My goal is to disable the integrated intel GPU in BIOS as when I disable it via windows device management it seems to disable both GPU's and runs on some sort of phantom GPU(Aero off, games wont run, Afterburner shows GPU1 - (nothing) GPU2 - (nothing))

I tried that MSI Afterburn , but it gives max -135 Mhz underclock. (I also replaced heatsink with mx-4 arctic cooling, that gave me -10 C on idle) Anything i can do with unlocked bios settings??

Hi.
I reinstalled windows 8.1 cause of some problems
Everything was working fine after reinstall, then i found out i wanted to update the BIOS in order to have everything updated.
I downloaded my BIOS file from the site i get all my drives and utilities (MSI webpage)
Which seemed like a good idea.(Well messing around with BIOS usually never is, but at the time it did )
I followed the instructions from the link that was included in the BIOS file. So i did not do anything wrong during the "steps"
At first everything went fine. The flash was succesfull. I restarted and the screen just started flashing. And it wouldn't stop.
It was late so i gave up.
The next day i started the computer the screen didn't flash at all. Now it just wont boot into windows it only boots into the BIOS.
The version on the bios went from 1.1 to 1.2 after i updated.
Does anyone know what i can do to fix it?

laptops can't do backflash :/ doing that will just give you a error saying that this version is older than what current one is installed :/ secondly RAPID thingy you get is because your laptop uses RAID so the intel rapid storage technology or w.e name is will pop up on boot under LEGACY. When RAID is assigned.
