GS70 2PE Stealth Pro - Does not start at first

Hi, for some time now that my laptop don't boot at first time i try, what happens is that every time i turn computer on when the msi logo appear it shutdown, turn it on again and it will boot up normally. Sometimes instead of shutting down on the msi logo it freezes there and a after a about 15/20 seconds the fans start spinning a lot.
Any ideas what is causing this?
Cheers

hi, sorry to bring back and old topic, but what was the result of this?. Was a hardware fail or just software?
I'm worried because a have the same issue but I noticed this problem after several days after I installed a lot of software I need for work. So, I assumed was a software problem and I planned to fresh reset when I upgrade to SSD raid later.
After like 2 or 3 months I updated to SSD and had a fresh recovery but this problem continues. I remember had an same issue in another notebook before and with a bios update was fixed, so I updated my bios with the official on MSI web but this didn't fix it, just put a lot more options on bios only.
I don't have windows 8.1 CD to fresh install, so I want to know if this was a hardware or software problems, because if it is a software fails I can buy a CD to fresh install on the future. This because I only spend 3 seconds to boot and shutdown cycle to just start in another 2 seconds with SSD raid, so not much time and the notebook works really fast on all: intensive matlab and games (like CS, Aion, etc. with over 60 fps and for hours).
I tested several combinations and didn't work, even I let it over night after 1 cycle of boot-fail and the next works to boot even several hours later and with and without the supply adapter connected. Just because of this I presume a software issue but not sure at all.
Thanks

  • How to access the BIOS on the GS70 2PE STEALTH PRO

    Hi all,
I recently purchased the GS70 2PE STEALTH PRO, and I need to access the BIOS to enable hardware virtualization, but I am unable to do so?
The laptop starts up in < 3 seconds, and I have tried many different keys with no luck.
How does one access the BIOS?

My MacBook Pro, does not start after pushing start button. The side bar starts and stops at half way.

    Hy myneck,
Happy Holidays!  The resource below may provide some steps to try if your MacBook Pro won't start.
Troubleshooting: My computer won't turn on - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/TS1367
This article discusses what to do if your Mac won't turn on. To differentiate this from a display issue, be sure that when you press the power button:
You don't hear a startup chime.
You don't hear any fan or drive noise.
There is no video on your built-in or external display
If your computer has power but doesn't display any video, it may have one or more of these similar symptoms when you press the power button:
You may hear a startup chime.
You may hear fan or drive noise.
You may see a light from the Sleep LED (if your Mac has one).
Pressing the Caps Lock key on the keyboard causes it to light.
If any of these display-related conditions occur, see Troubleshooting: My computer has no video instead. Otherwise, continue with this article.
If your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps:
Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter if present are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.
If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter.
Note: See Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters for further troubleshooting with MagSafe adapters.
Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.
If your Mac supports user-installable memory, solid state drive, or hard drive, and you recently installed any of these, make sure they are installed correctly and are compatible with your computer. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive into the computer to find out if the behavior persists afterwards.

My mac pro does not start up because then hard disk is formatted, How can install the operating system.
    regards,

Did you erase the hard drive yourself? If not, what exactly are you seeing, and what happened immediately prior to you starting to see it?
Your profile indicates that you are/were running Lion (Mac OS X 10.7.4) on a retina MacBook Pro, so you should be able to hold down command-R at startup to enter recovery mode, and you can reinstall the system from there. But whether or not you need to do something else first depends on your answers to the questions above.

  • GS70 2PE Stealth Pro Direct 3D Problem

Hi guys, I just got my GS70 less than 24 hrs ago. I updated windows, installed Elder Scrolls Online and i couldnt launch it. Screen got stucked at during intro and has huge pixels all over the screen. Sometimes, the message Kernel Driver Display Error comes out at the bottom.
Updated graphics driver. Run game, still the same.
Restore factory settings. Run game, still the same.
Restore factory, update direct x, windows, and driver. Run game, still the same. Installed Bioshoch Infinite, run benchmark, tells me Direct 3D error. Im convinced something is wrong between the graphics card (870m) and the Direct X11 is the problem.
    Anyone had this problem before?

  • My 2011 MacBook Pro does not start and stop after the apple appear, they said that the problem is a video problem and need to change the logic board. Cost almost same to buy a new one. Somebody have the same problem?

I have a MacBook Pro early 2011. Does not start. After the apple show, a blank screen appear. The service said that the problem is with the video plaquue in the logic board. Need to change. Cost lmmost the same than a new MacBook Pro. Somebody has the same problem? What we can do?

I hate to break this to you, but life isn't fair. If your job is that critically in need of a computer, then you should have a spare to use for just this kind of situation or have your employer provide you with a computer to use.
Computers break down, just like cars. If your car breaks down do you curse the car maker or get it fixed? Surely, you paid more for your car than the computer.
This is reality. Best get used to it because it won't get any better.

  • My mac book pro does not start but has error message with a question mark on screen. took it in and was told probably the hard drive as could not reconize it so bought new one but still not connecting.what do i do

My mac book pro does not connect but shows an error message with a question mark on the screen.I took it to a retailer that said it was not reconizing the hard drive. He said i needed a new hard drive but it may be something else as well but he was sure a new hard drive would fix it.So putting faith in someone who deals with them i purchased a new hard drive to find it was still not working although he said the computer did know reconize the hard drive and i may have to send it away to get it checked .After already paying 120 pounds for a new hard drive and they wanting another 80.00 pounds to diagnose it i am a little sceptical.
That's why i am interested on anyone's help.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I think that your Mac detects your hard disk, but the problem is that your new hard disk doesn't contain any operating system, so your Mac doesn't find any bootable partition and you see a question mark.
If your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting. Then, just install Mac OS X. If the hard disk isn't prepared to install Mac OS X, you will have to erase it using "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". See > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html

  • MacBook pro does not start. How can I back to Mac OS X Lion?

I have a MacBook Pro. On my MacBook i made three partition, then I installed window 8. After that I started windos and try to delete third partition by Administrator tool from windows operating system. After that my MacBook does not start. How can I back to Mac OS X Lion?
After that I again install windows 8 from a DVD. Windows start well, but I can not start Mac OS system, may be it was 10.6.  Sever times I tried to install OS X Lion 10.7 thought DVD, I could not. On MacBook I have a lot of important data.
What can I do. I want to a complete suggestion. Please help me to solve the problem.
My MacBook Pro model no. A1286.

You installed Windows improperly the result of which was to wipe out the bootloader for OS X. You can give this a try:
    Boot Using OPTION key:
      1. Restart the computer.
      2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the
          "OPTION" key.
      3. Release the key when the boot manager appears.
      4. Select the OS X disk icon from which you want to boot.
      5. Click on the arrow button below the icon.
If you are still unable to boot from the OS X volume then you will need to reinstall OS X:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
This will destroy the Windows bootloader so you cannot boot into Windows. The solution is to remove all the partitions on the drive except the OS X partition, then expand the OS X partition to take up the entire drive.
Use Boot Camp Assistant in the Utilities folder to create a Windows partition on which you can install Windows. You cannot have any other partitions on the drive besides these two.
Now given all the above you may be able to install a third-party bootloader that would work with the setup you now have: Boot Runner 1.4.

  • My 2009 13" MacBook Pro does not start

My 13" MacBook Pro (2009 mdoel with Moutain Lion) does not start up.
When I press the power button, it does not start.
I do see the white light on front right of the MacBook Pro. The battery is half full. I'm connected to a power cord (light on power cord is organge). I do not see any lights on the keyboard and nothing on the screen. I do hear a fan.
How do I get my MacBook to start up?
    Thanks, Gilbert

As you're running Mountain Lion, have you tried booting to the Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting)?
If you can get to the Recovery partition you can use Disk Utility to verify and, if needed, repair your hard drive.
If you can't boot to the Recovery partition, at least see if there is a hardware problem by running the Apple Hardware Test.
    Good luck, call back...

  • Quick Time pro does not start at all  and gives an error "Fehler 46: K"

I installed QT pr0 without problems. But QT does not start. After doubleclicking there is a short message with the above error code "Fehler 46:K" No movie can be played is thera any support for pro customer`? Is the Problem known? Installing and uninstalling does not help. Procedures recommanded from apple - empty temp etc. did not help either. Google did only find 2 posts none with valuable information.

As I'm sure you are already aware, that HDD has failed to the point it cannot find a bootable volume.
If you have a backup, no worries.
If you do not have a backup, you could try to reinstall the operating system and get the disk to a state in which it will at least mount. Then, copy whatever information remains intact to another disk. I would be inclined to replace the drive now, install the failed one in an external enclosure, and attempt to extract whatever information you need from it.

  • My Mac Pro does not start up

I have a big problem with my MacPro which I bought just 3 months ago. A month ago it started to act up: sometimes it was slow and sometimes it's fine. When I type it's so slow and letters take time to show when typing. Now, it does not boot up or does not start. When I turn it on, it shows just the apple sign but it does not boot up! I need help as I am now out of the US.

The best option is to take advantage of your warrantee and take it to an Apple repair facility.
In the interim, look at this Apple support article and start there:

MMy MacBook pro will not start up. It goes past the apple logo then only a grey screen, sometimes a blue one with vertical stripes. I have tried starting from a disc also by using different keys, but with the same result. At one point i heard three beeps then a pause repeated. Please help.

See if you can run an Apple Hardware Test:
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257
Note an error free AHT is not definitive.
If addition to the possibility of a RAM problem, the vertical stripes on the blue screen is not a good sign.
