(GS70 2QE GTX 970M) MSI True Color Ghosting Issue

Hi everyone,
I just found out about MSI True Color and decided to give it a go on my GS70 2QE. After some tweaking, the results are simply outstanding. I ususally work with 2 other IPS monitors, and now the GS70's monitor color is pretty close to them.
Unfortunately there are 2 issues that are bugging me alot:
1) When dragging windows or scrolling on chrome, there is a clear redish ghosting effect. It's visible just by moving the mouse pointer from side to side.
2) When the laptop boots up, it takes a few seconds to trigger my profile on MSI True Color, but just moments after that, it changes the color of the screen again. I have to manually go to the icon, and change the profile again in order for it to stick.
Has anyone else tried the MSI True Color on their laptop? Anyone with similar issues or with a solution for these problems?

GS60 2QD GHOST True color error!

I have GS60 2QD GHOST.. I flashed my firmware to latest version that is 16H5EMS1.506
which Support true color AP. <--- i don't know what that mean. can you explain to me please?
and then I installed the Utility MSI True Color but when trying to run the program it gives me error saying "the Files native.bin and backup.bin do not exist"

Yes, I tired placing the native.bin at C:\ProgramData\Portrait Displays\True Color . Thank you.
I also tried the files and folders provided by cmplieger. Still the issue persists. Comparing the files and folders he provided I see they are the exact same as my own in structure and size. I don't know how to compare them any more completely than that, but would be happy to try if you think it would help. I could also upload mine if someone else would be willing to compare.
I still think it's interesting that Ventriloko had a Truecolor folder in his recovery at C:\Windows\RE_DRIVE\RECOVERYCD_ISO\RECOVERY_DVD\TrueColor , which I didn't. I removed it after tying what I thought I could there. My thoughts are now leaning to the possibility that some systems, including Haswell machines, have something modified in the registry that the TrueColor program looks for at launch. Below you will see part of a screen shot during the last moments of my TrueColor installation attempts. To me, it appears the installation is looking for something (regsvr32.exe) and can't find it (returning a code of 0). Perhaps it does find it and doesn't like what it finds, so to speak. What are your thoughts? Does anyone else (who has TrueColor working) recall seeing this during their installation? It is displayed longer than most of the information, but still relatively briefly at the near end of the installation as you can see from the progress bar.
Perhaps, if it isn't to much to ask, someone (that has TrueColor working) could see if they have any entries in there registry referring to TrueColor and refsvr32.exe.
I only have one for TrueColor as listed at:

GS70 2QE - Help needed.... non of my USB ports work :(

Hi guys and gyals...
First time posting here and I wish it was in a positive light but unfortunatley I have an error on my laptop thats preventing me from using it.
So I purchased a GS70 2QE with 970m and 4720 processor. I was very happy for the first two days with its performance until the time I had to use the USB ports. I realise that non of them work at all. Im normally quite good at solving tech issues but this one is going beyond me. Ive done updates on all intel/windows/nvidia drivers as far as I can tell, plus Ive checked the BIOS for usb settings and they are all enabled. Ive switched off the power saving for usb function as well as doing TWO complete reinstalls of windows and still I have no usb.
On the device manager all usb devices seem errorless except one... 'unknown USB device (link in compliance mode)', might I add that nothing is plugged in at this time. Clicking on this brings up the following:
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
The SuperSpeed link to the USB device keeps going to an error state Compliance. If the device is removable, remove the device and then disable/enable from device manager to recover."
Ive attempted to uninstall all usb devices and reboot yet windows just reinstalls the same things and I get the same issue.
Now unfortunatley MSI arent so great. Ive called their UK support number 4 times and its just rang through after 30 mins each time. I have also sent an email to support.... no response.... What the hell is this all about... when I purchase a machine thats this expensive I kinda expect some support value.
Anyway Im in limbo now, cant work, cant game, cant do anything but browse the net with my trackpad. Other than this issue Im happy with the laptop.

Im on win 8.1 out of the box. On 8.1 page theres no drivers for usb 3.0. Now I know there is a problem whereby intel havent released drivers for usb 3.0, all drivers are being given by microsoft as I understand, and the only work around is to use win 7 drivers that are edited. Now I have tried this and while the extensibile host controller accepts the new driver it still doesnt make the ports work. Im hoping that this issue with intel and usb 3.0 is the problem as I would like to solve this out as a software problem as opposed to sending it off for a hardware fix.
After your post I downloaded the win7 usb 3.0 drivers and eventually edited them as per this page:

MSI GS70 2QE-Stealth pro with GTX 970 M. Cant run 3 screens ?

Got a GS70 Stealth pro 17" with:
CPU Intel Core i7 4:e gen. 4710HQ / 2.5 GHz
GTX970M 3GB
16 GB RAM
2 x Mini DisplayPort - Running 2 x adapters that converts hdmi from screen to Mini DosplayPort to the laptop.
1 X HDMI - Running now 1 x adapter that converts VGA to HDMI.
I just bought 3 Asus VN247H 23,6" / 1ms / 2xHDMI screens to my new laptop. And on the MSI website it says that i can run 3 screens (when the laptop screen is off)
So i tried with 2 x Deltaco mini DisplayPort till HDMI-monitorkabel med ljud, 20-pin ha-19-pin ha, 1m. And 1 HDMI. But i cant run 3 screens. Even if i shut down the laptop screen.
I also tried a adapter called:
Deltaco HDMI till VGA och ljud-adapter 1080p 0,2m (Vit) from VGA to HDMI but still dont work.. It converts VGA from the screen to hdmi to the laptop.
So now i am woundering if i need a "active adapter" like this one:
Sapphire Active mini-DisplayPort to Single-Link DVI Adapter? or is it something else i am doing wrong ? this active adapter costs around 30 euro so its abit cheep? is it the right one?
I would be really really happy if someone could help me out here. It is for my new company =).

According to that it supports 3 external screens between the Display Port and HDMI ports.
HOWEVER....and I might be wrong about this but....I'm not certain you can use non-active Display Port to HDMI/DVI adapters. What do I mean by non-active? Non-active adapters are passive devices, whereas the active ones will take Display Port and then convert it and provide it's own clock signal as well, which will then allow it to work with HDMI/DVI monitors. This is due to the number of clock generators on the video card board to support the monitors. Most cards only have 2 clock generators for outputs, and therefore you can't just use passive adapters for your Display Port adapters to go to HDMI/DVI.
How do I know this? I used to use (way back a number of years ago) a 3 x 1080P monitor setup, and the video card only supported 2 outputs with clocks, and the 3rd had to be a display port output without a clock. The only way to make it work was to get an active adapter. At the time, the easiest one to obtain was a display port to DVI adapter from Apple actually...I still have it sitting in my box of parts, but it worked very well.
Most likely, that is the true underlying issue, and once you resolve that you will be able to output to 3 external monitors simultaneously.

Notebook MSI GS70 2QE Speaker balance problem

I bought a MSI GS70 2QE Stelth Pro Notebook with the 970M video, I would like to know if somebody has the same sound problem with the sound of the build-in speakers.
My problem is that the sound is not properly balanced centrally, it leans to the right side of the computer. And also for example if you adjust the balance slider all the way to the left speaker the sound is still projected to the right side of the monitor/computer and when you move it to the right side the sound is projected correctly to the right.

I think that's because the woofer is close to the right side, actually the left and right speaker sound is even, but when playing particular audio frequency, the extra woofer effect works and would make you misunderstand the right sound is bigger.

Ok another update its Skype not liking the "prefer max performance" setting in Nvidia.
As soon as this on Skype will make your GPU stick at full clock!
Tested with 3 nvidia drivers.
Will see now and keep it like this with newest nvidia driver and see ...

MSI GS70 2QE - Screen Askew

Hi,
I bought an MSI GS70 2QE last week. I've noticed the screen is ever so slightly askew, its minor but its offputtng given the price of the laptop. I'm currently in talks with the place I bought it from who are saying they cant see the issue and have contacted MSI who also dont see the issue.
Can any MSI board members comment on the following images.
You'll notice if you zoom in on the left and right lower hand sides of the screen where it sits neatly next to the laptop body there is more of the black bezel showing on the right hand side.

They are saying not. They are happy to take the laptop back and look at it but if they don't see the issue they will return it to me. I've given them the exact photo. Everyone at work can see it etc, but I'm concerned they will see the issue and consider this within manufacturers tolerances. This will mean the laptop will have done a round trip to their office, been inspected and returned, something I don't fancy on a laptop costing over £1600.
I've asked if they will allow m to pay a restocking fee but they don't seem to want to do this either.
The issue is definitely there but I think its a case of whether I'm being too fussy or not. I don't believe I am.

New MSI GS70 2QE-066US STEALTH PRO BSOD

I am getting random bsod page fault in nonpaged area on my brand new MSI GS70 2QE-066US STEALTH PRO. It seems to happen once a day. I am not sure what is going on really i updated the killer network drivers from their website as there was newer ones out than what were on this notebook. I only did that a hour ago so i don't know if it fixed anything or not. I herd the killer driver can cause bsod so i thought i would try. Other forums lead me to believe it is a ram issue. I have only install some steam games wow and things like chrome on this notebook so far. I am trying to figure out if it is a hardware or software issue as i just got the notebook and would like to not have to send it in so i can use it.

GS70 2QE Stealth Pro - nVidia 970m issue

Hello everyone,
I'm almost a happy owner of a GS70 2QE Stealth pro.
I downloaded the first two games to test the PC and I found that the nvidia card does not work.
When I launch the game the system automatically starts the integrated intel card instead of the nvidia
I have already tried going into the panel to devote the nvidia geforce usage for games but nothing changes.
I have updated the drivers and directX but nothing.. readed every possible forum but could not find any solution.
I have already 'contacted the MSI and the Geforce but I do not have yet answer.
Have any of you found a problem similar to mine? Do you have any advice for me?

that sounds like you got a laptop with factory fault gpu :/ since when i had my laptop on repair they replaced the motherboard and gpu on that behaved like this and when i got games to use nvidia gpu it had graphics problems like flickering textures here and there and so on so you should return laptop to store and have it re-placed with new one asap.

GS70 2QE (970m)- Any Fan control software?

I am looking for a Fan control utility that will work for the GS70 2QE, This is a brand new laptop of the latest generation.
I would like to turn the fan speed up manually during heavy computing loads to avoid the bouncing of the CPU clock due to thermal scaling. (Cools down, clocks up, gets hot, clocks down).

I'm looking to buy the top spec GS70 2QE red edition -- but I've checked all the online sites - and none of them sell the true - full-spec version - does anyone know where I can get one?
16GB of memory
6GB graphics
768GB Super RAID 2 + 1TB HDD 7200rpm
Every seller has some part of the above specs missing - usually the graphics. Most are selling the 3GB graphics.
Some only have 1tb hard drive - no ssd or raid :(
Does anyone know of a site or shop selling the full deal.

Well yeah i have also noticed it to :/ when i bought my GS70 it says it comes with 3GB or 6GB DDR5 but 6GB apperently was a 756 series or w.e it was but that model no longer exists only GTX 870 with 3GB DDR5 so yeah :/ maybe EU only gets 3GB version while Japan, China and so on gets 6GB version :/
