GT70 2PE Microphone problem / Realtek HD audio

Hi guys,
Since yesterday I have a problem. My mic is recording very low sound.
Both built-in laptop one and the headset (Syberia V2)
I thought that the thing was broken but after playback with a higher volume I could barely hear what I was saying.
Just by doing simple things I found out that the microphone is working fine if I uninstall the Realtek HD audio drivers.
Had an old version, thought that update would fix it but it made no difference.
So the trouble maker is the Realtek HD audio driver.
Found some YouTube videos of how it could have possibly be solved but the thing is that in my case the Realtek HD audio Manager interface does not have all the possible options like Device Advanced Settings button.
Anyone has any advice on what else I could try out?

  • Z87 G-45 - Sound problems/ Realtek HD audio

Alright so here is my problem, I just bought a new rig, like 2-3 months ago.
    - MSI GTX 770 Superclocked (factory overclock)
    - MSI Z87 G-45
    - Intel i7 4770k (standard clock)
    - Corsair Vengeance pro 2x4GB(8GB) 1866mhz
    - OCZ 750W, Bronze 80 + Fully modular PSU.
    - 1TB Wester digital, Caviar black.
    - Random mid tower case.
So I've set up my rig, without major problems, my friend has the exact same pc but he has a different case and a SSD instead of a HDD. So everything seemed fine, I played many games like AC4, BF4 without any major problems. But I've started playing one of my favorite games, LoL (League of legends) now there I started to get some problems, sometimes when I'd start my game 'the audio would go into a vierd buzzing sound for a few seconds followed by a blue screen.
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0xfffff88000b4c000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff8800f419fa0). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP.
For a while I didn't do anything about it, because it didn't happen that often, untill about 2-3 weeks ago where it started happening alot. Shortly after another problem appeard, the same buzzing sound would now happen, at the end of the game, either after a win or a lose when I'd click continue to go the end lobby screen. It would happen after I'd press the continue botton, and untill I've reached the end lobby 5-10 seconds and then It would stop. So I decided to google the problem, not much was on the topic apart from saying it was probably drivers, so I reinstalled all my drivers, the blue screen stopped, but the buzzing sound at the end of my game would continue. It got worse, when I'd watch a youtube video and sometimes press back or click on another video the buzzing sound would come back again. This time it didn't stop unless I'd run some other program or game. I was getting really annoyed by this, so I decided to reinstall my windows. I did, I formated my HDD and installed my windows 7 again. Now I've quickly installed drivers, windows updates but I noticed that at the bottom there was a red X beside the speaker, at first I didn't take into account. So then I restarted my pc and I installed, steam. skype etc etc. Now, I went into google and went into youtube wanting to watch a video. No sound, I was like ' is going on, are my drivers not installed' So I reinstalled my sound drivers it didn't help, now this time I didn't install any Ultility drivers and I was like maybe thats it. I went onto the MSI website, and went into utility and got the sound blaster driver. It fixed the problem  as soon as I installed it, not for long. I had to restart my pc a few times to complete updates and when I did, no sound again. 'This point im pretty mad'. Along with not being able to install BIOS divers, because it keeps saying that
'The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see if you need x86(32-bit) or x64(64-bit) version of the program, then contact the software publisher' I was okay it, i'll reinstall my Windows again.
I reinstall my windows again, (current one) now this time I didn't rush installing any drivers, sound was fine from the start, I tryed my BIOS again, same message appears. Now I go to install my sound drivers, as soon as I do and restart my PC, there is a red 'x' beside my speaker at the bottom right corner of my screen. I'm like '', so I go to control panel, uninstall the drivers restart my pc and it works fine again. It must be something to do with the motherboard, at first I thought it was my RAM like many people suggested about the so called blue screens, but now I can see thats its not.
Also I'd like to mention I was able to install BIOS update on my other Windows Install, without any problems nor any Audio problems untill the end.

Try installing the drivers from realtek straight, that solved something similiar to me. The realtek drivers are different from the manufacturer MSI drivers.

  • Microphone Problem in Beats Audio after upgrading to Win 10

I have a HP Envy 15 j103tx laptop which I recently upgraded to Windows 10. After upgrading, the sound worked well but the little checkbox next to the output source stopped working. As you can see I have two playback devices: one my laptop's speaker and other my tv's speaker which I have connected with a hdmi. I cannot select my device through the checkbox now. It doesn't do anything.  Similarly, I also cannot select the Internal Microphone of my laptop. Due to which my microphone no longer works. I have tried to uninstall the IDT drivers and codec and reinstalling it through the HP Customer Support page. http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-touchsmart-15-j100-notebook-pc-series/5401191/model/6413154 . But to no avail. I request Hp to solve my problem as soon as possible.

  • Realtek HD microphone problem.(mic not connected but sends disruption to people)

    I have motherboard 770-C45.
And while playing online on Steam people can hear disruption even when my mic is not connected.
Actually i unpluged speakers and run a test on steam and it still showed that a mic was connected.
I just reinstaled Realtek drivers and still have the same problem.
The picture below shows mic test on Steam with unpluged microphone:

And here is a recording from my mobile how it sounds in MP4:

I just found out that it is sound from my speakers. So I think it might drivers conflict:(

  • Realtek HD audio problem when recording

    Hello guys;
Been trying to do some recording for the first time since the OC was rebuilt. New specs as below.
(By the way, I couldn't get any sound at all until I reinstalled the UAA bus driver..., so it's thanks to this forum that I got sound in the first place!)
Anyway, the problem I now have is that basically the record level is way too high. I use Steinberg Clean 5.0 and was finding that although I could change the levels in the software, whatever level I recorded at I was suffering extreme amounts of clipping/distortion. (I should mention that the input is from a good quality hifi, I used it for many years for recording with my previous PC incarnation using my KT6 delta rig).
After much trial and error, I found that the only way to stop this is to have the recording sound level in volume set to - well it isn't numbered - it would be about 10%. I also discovered that although master recording level is adjustable the others  - CD, mic, line, mix are greyed out.
The master level is really difficult to set  (as I write I just discovered it's still distorting and I'll have to edged it down another couple of % towards zero), so I really want to change the "line" record level, but as I said it's greyed out.
In Realtek sound manager it's similar, in the record section there's an overall level control but no individual adjustments for record, only playback.
    Incidentally playback works just fine!
Realtek drivers are latest 5.10.0.5928 downloaded yesterday from Realtek.
    Anyone got any ideas please?

I think the audio out must be fine as it works just fine for general listening to CDs, LPs (!!), whatever played from the hifi. No distortion even with volume level (in "volume control") set at 100%  It's only the record level that's weird :-)
I'll try the headfone thing later, just trying to record something now!
Sorry, I'm not sure if this will help, as I haven't used Realtek HD audio for some time (always used add-in cards).  But in my experience, most sound controllers have an option in mixer to select the recording source (e.g. Mic In, Line In, S/PDIF-In, Wave, CD, etc).  In particular, many offer a recording source option for "What you hear" or "Stereo Mix".  Essentially, this would combine and capture the audio from every available source, rather than from just a single source.  I'm guessing it's a long shot but maybe you could change your recording source to this "mix" type (hopefully, something similar is available).  To reduce noise you'll probably want to MUTE other sources (Wave, MIDI, CD, etc.), though you could leave them enabled as well (try to avoid things that would inject noise).
I'm only suggesting this approach because you mention that the playback from your hifi is completely fine.  Only recording from line-in is distorted.  So perhaps, you can work around the problem by recording the mixed playback.  It shouldn't make any sense for this to be happening but maybe you'll be lucky??  My (worst-case) thought is that maybe your realtek HD's ADC is damaged and therefore playback is flawless but recording is flawed...
Another thought I had is mixer settings are often stored within an ini file.  If you or someone else could identify the file(s), then you should be able to view, and in turn, modify the numeric playback and recording levels.  That should aide you in adjusting the levels more precisely, rather than guessing levels via the obscure gui sliders.
It may turn out that none of my ideas are helpful, but I wish you good luck all the same.

  • Realtek HD Audio Problems... Plz Help!

I'm currently a temporary DJ for my friend, who's a professionalk DJ, and our party starts in an hour or so. My MacBook, the one I bought last Thanksgiving, the audio on windows won't work. I had Realtek HD Audio, the driver that was on my Leopard dvd. I have always kept my sound muted on XP, so maybe this could be a problem? But the audio won't play, and I've tried playing different mnedia players, Microsoft's WMP and Apple's iTunes. I tried playing a clip from YouTube, all won't play with sound. Any ideas or help??? Thanks.

oops. sorry, I just experimented, I plugged in my iPod earbuds into my laptop, and played the clip. The familiar click sound of the volume adjust was heard, and I pulled the earbuds out and beautiful audio came out on the speakers! So maybe its just the fact that I havent used the speakers on my laptop much. Thanks for looking anyway, and problem solved!

  • My sound is like echo and i can't solve the problem with realtek hd audio manager

    HP G72 notebook
    Windows 7 64 bit
Sound is like echo and can't solve problem with Realtek HD audio manager

    It's a Qosmio X300-16M (windows 7 64bit)
I downloaded the last toshiba's sound driver (for win 7 64bit), but it's as if it doesn't contain MaxxAudio anymore... (but the file maxxaudio.dll is still in realtek directory)
It worked correctly after Windows 7 update, (that's why I tried to reinstall the audio drivers which were in the DVD... but it does not have resolved the problem.)
And all my system restore's points have been lost after a wrong bios update or something else (but this isn't a problem anymore)
Now, my computer works correctly, my only problem is that the MaxxAudio tab (from Waves Audio) in the realtek audio manager disappeared... (It just makes a better sound...)
And I just want to know if it's a curent problem or not... and if someone can fix it

  • MSI GT70 2PE-1620 Recovery problems (no F3 recovery)

    Hi,
I'm the proud owner of e new MSI GT70 2PE-1620. But now I have some serious problems restoring Windows 8.1 back on it.
This GT70 has 3 SSD disk, in super RAID 0. For some reason the RAID failed and I to restore the RAID setup again. Which was successful. However my C partition was cleared. Now I have trouble resetting back the GT70 back to the factory setting, because the F3 function during startup does not function. The hidden partition with the MSI recovery files are still there: on the second disk (1 TB disk). I checked using Acronis Disk Manager.
I tried restoring back with a Windows disk (ISO download from the internet), but then I miss all my MSI tools and drivers. I do not have a MSI recovery CD/DVD disk.
Please help me to restore this GT70 back to its factory setting.
Secondly: can somebody tell me what the BIOS settings should be (factory setting) for this GT70. Ex.: should the boottype be UEFI or Legacy?

I've found a share which might be helpful.
    Try this:
    1. Run the command prompt as administrator.
    2. Type "reagentc /info" and press enter to check the recovery image location and you should see it shows 0 as null.
    3. Type "diskpart" and "list disk" to check your drives.
    4. Select the HDD drive where your hidden partition is locate. Type "select disk X" (X is the disk of you HDD)
    5. Type "list partition" to find your hidden partition. (You'll need the partition name for the recovery directory later.
    6. Type "exit" to exit the diskpart, then enter "reagentc /setosimage /path \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk1\partition4\RecoveryImage\ /index 1"
(*Note: 1. The harddisk1 is the drive name of your HDD, where your hidden is locate. 2. partition4 is the partition name of your hidden partition you read from step5.)
After setting up, you can use the windows recovery to do the system restore.
This should be able to help you restore to the factory settings.
*You can only choose the option to restore your whole system, so please backup all your files before doing the restore.
Thanks! I will give this a try. I will you know if this worked. One question before I try this:
Will this help me restore to the SDD disk? The hidden partition with the restore files is on a 1TB disk. Originally drive D: in Windows. The SSD disk should be C:, the boot disk with the OS.
    ** UPDATE:
I booted using a USB HD with recovery Windows files, and open up the cmd window. It tried, but it can not find or recognize the "reagentc" command. What am I missing?

  • GT70 2PE Dominator Killer WLAN problem

    Hello everyone.
I recently bought a GT70 2PE Dominator Pro gaming computer.
As I grew tired of Windows 8.1 in a few days, I installed Windows 7, 64 instead.
After having set the BIOS and all that to Legacy, so that I could install and run Windows 7, I ran into problems with the Killer LAN drivers.
I downloaded all drivers, chipset etc. including the Killer Network Manager from the MSI support page, but the WLAN still isn't working. In the administration of the computer, it can find it OK, but says that it can't start this device.
I have followed every guide I could find with both trying installing the drivers 'clean', using the KillerCleaner etc., but still nothing works.
Is there any more help to find?
    Thank you
    Jonas, Denmark

I have the same laptop and also have the same problem.
I have not been able to find a solution for it. I think it might be a voltage or heat problem.
I ended up buying a pair of USB headphones so i could have sound while playing video games. I would recommend you do the same.

  • GT70 2PE Dominator Pro increasing static/white noise during different games.

    Hello.
I'm quite in a predicament here. I have an MSI GT70 2PE Dominator gaming laptop.
Every time I play a game[doesnt matter which one, ones demanding high specs and also with games that can run on toasters :p ] after a couple of minutes I start hearing this increasing static, white noise coming from my speakers or headset. After a couple of moments it also sort of disables my microphone as well. IE When in in VoiP while playing a game, after the noise increases my mic also stops working.
I tried everything I could think of. Reinstall drives, format the laptop, all the little advice people give in other threads about this kind of problem. I also sent it into repairs and they said it was fixed but alas it still isnt. I tried using different power adapters and that doesnt seem to make a difference.
One interesting thing is that when I just play on batter power - no issues at all. As soon as I plug in the adapter - the noise start building up again.
Anyone has any ideas what might help?

  • Realtek HD Audio Issue

    Hello fellows,
Unfortunately I've been having problems with my Realtek HD Audio (includes THX TruStudio Pro and Dynaudio Premium Sound Technology) with my Windows 8 x64 MSI GT70 whenever I open up a game file and start playing for 1-2 minutes (WoW, Diablo III, SCII). I've tried all the different settings in the Audio Manager but it didn't help.
For WoW, I seem to have resolved most of the problem (an issue with the sound where makes clicking and buzzing noises) when I opened up the loading screen and chose to open it in 32-bit instead. Unfortunately, SCII or Diablo III don't have that option in the loading screen. For WoW, the problem is mostly gone but an occasional click here or there comes, a lot softer than before. Before, it was unbearable so I had to turn the sound off completely.
Anyone have suggestions to stop it for good? I'd appreciate the help. I've already reinstalled everything concerning the audio system, it says it is working properly, and I have the latest driver (also tried disabling THX) and the problem still arose after that. I've also tried to run the programs in compatability mode but that didn't work either. Everything else aside from games sound just fine. In any case, changing to the 32-bit helped with WoW. How can I do that for the others?
    Cheers,

Anyone have any other ideas? I really don't want to send the computer away, going through that effort and then to find out that it wasn't a hardware problem after all

  • Microphone problem on Windows XP running on Macbook Pro

I just bought a Macbook Pro with a built-in Realtek HD audio card, and I have a problem using the microphone on the Windows side (I've installed via Bootcamp a Windows XP Home edition service pack 2). For some reason Windows doesn't recognise the microphone at all (although I have no problem with the loudspeakers). I tried downloading the new driver
    Windows 2000, Windows XP/2003(32/64 bits) Driver only (Executable file) R1.89 2008/3/18 25421k
from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24& Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false and ran the driver,
but it didn't help. Right now when I'm trying to detect the microphone using the Control Panel wizard an error message comes up, saying that there's an error code 0x80004005
    what should I do?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Can't uninstall sound drivers (Realtek AC97 Audio)

Hi, I’m having problems uninstalling my sound driver that’s on my MSI K8N NEO4-F. When I choose to remove it in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel I get the following error message:
(I’m translation this from Swedish so if some word has the wrong synonym or is grammatically incorrect the reason is because English is my second language.)
    >SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (390)
    pAPP:Realtek AC’97 Audio
    PVENDOR:Realtek Semiconductor Corp.

    $11.0.0.28844
    @Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) IE 6.0.2900.2180
    Another error message follows:
An error has occurred in the uninstall program.
    Do this:
      -Close all open program.
      -Clean temp folder.
      -Control your internet connection
Then try to run the uninstall program again.
The reason I want to uninstall the driver is because I couldn’t get my microphone  to work with the onboard soundcard. So I've put in my old Sound Blaster Live 5.1 and it works a lot better, but it only works after I have done a "Hardware Test" in Properties for “Sound and Sound units” in the Control Panel. The microphone sometimes stops working while I’m using Ventrilo and I have to redo the “Hardware Test” to get it to work which is very annoying.
I would really appreciate any help with this problem.
    /Regards Thor-Björn

The drivers are disabled in BIOS and I tried to remove the drivers in Safe Mode but got the same error messages. However, I DLed a program called Driver Cleaner Pro and removed Realtek AC 97 Drivers. This did not fix my microphone problems though! Anyone know how I can get the microphone working without having to do Hardware Tests? And what could it be that fixes the problem when I do a Hardware Test?

  • Realtek hd audio mic

In my realtek audio manager, it shows that my mic goes on 'mute' automatically when i press 'call' in skype. either a echo/sound test or calling a contact.
    WHY

I think this is a new bug with the latest version of Skype - never experienced it earlier. In fact it was quite funny. Expecting an important international skype call, I did a skype test call. Everything went fine. But when my actual call came through - the microphone stopped functioning. It took me a couple of hours to figure out that Skype is playing tricks with Realtek configuration. The 'Mic Volume' under 'Playback' on the Mixer page of the Realtek HD Audio Manager had got muted on its own.
I unmuted it and did a test call again on Skype. This time I heard only half of what I recorded during the test! I opened the audio manager - yes the 'Mic Volume' had again got muted! I did a third test, this time I made the skype test callwhile keeping the audio manager visible on screen. This time I saw the 'Mic Volume' getting muted on its own while I was recording for the Skype test call.
I hope the Skype team will look into this problem.
